Melia Buenavista Cayo Santa Maria is an amazing luxury resort within Cuba's resort strip. All suites are spacious, modern, and elegant. The resort is also staffed with extremely attentive and personable staff. Melia Buenavista is also known for their breathtaking snorkeling locations. For those wanting to experience beauty within and outside of resort grounds, the Melia Buena Vista Cayo Santa Maria is the perfect destination.

This luxury resort is located in one of the most stunning areas of Cayo Santa Maria. Guests at Melia Buenavista will love the attentive staff and Royal Service pampering. Located in a secluded ecological environment among white sand beaches and clear Caribbean waters. This 5 star resorts features 104 suites and is an adults only resort.

Location: Directly on a beautiful white-sand beach. Approximately 110 km from the Santa Clara airport.

Just Amazing

Crystal clear water,A bit a vegetation got damaged but is growing back fast.Resort looks better than before hurricane Irma, extremely clean new paint everywhere, new roof tiles, new signs that look professional. New and more beach umbrellas/ parasol.For anyone who had doubts, forget it come to Buenavista and see for yourselves.We were amazed and coming back in February.The pool bar is still run by outstanding people Orestes, Osmani and Lester give 7 star service. Piti BBQ cook just makes the best Pizza anywhere.Playa is great, lots of beautiful sand, Andres Beach Bar runs around all day servicing beachgoers.Arley the cook at Los Caribes is just the best, if you want something different that is not on the menu like spaghetti bolognese; he'll make it for youCrystal clear water,This is paradise. Could go on but ALL the staff makes MVB home away from home where you can relax and enjoy life with no worries.Just like to thank a few people like Rafael manager, Leydis, Daymi, Anabelle, De La Torre, Navy perfect entertainer with his staff Dany and Philipe, Lisandro, Miguel, the lifeguards, the reception staff Ivette, Daylin, , La Note Bar Staff, restaurants staff Saily, Alexander, Alien, Luis,etc. Butlers, cleaning staff especially Bobby,, WOW wish i could remember all the names. What makes this resort so perfect is "TEAM WORK".Apologize if we did not mention your name.

Excellent !

We were there for New Years (Dec. 28th - Jan. 4th). We are repeat customers. We have been to this resort 4 or 5 times. What makes this place so special, it’s because it’s a small resort and the personnal are so nice and friendly. We return because of the wonderful staff that we consider now our family. We were a bit afraid because of the passage of the hurricane Irma, but the resort showed no sign of it. You can barely see that there was any damage done. The employees worked very hard in order to fix every thing. Thank you for your hard work. Even the road to get to the hotels is much bigger now and in better condition that it was a few years ago. Resorts and grounds :The resorts is nice and quiet. The reception is small and the only time you go is to exchange money or for the Wi-Fi. This resort offers the service of a buttler. We had Eddel and Orestes, both very nice and professional. They alternate every day but they are their to make sure your stay is plaisant and that you have all that you need. Daylin at the reception is very nice. Lobby Bar:*The lobby bar patio flooring really needs to be attended too. Lots of cracks, hole and loose planks – a potentiel safety hazard. An injury would be unfortunate. Inside the lobby bar, Diuberty a.k.a « Tremblay » was nice. Very good bartender and a master in the art of making cappucino. Every single one I would order, would come with a different presentation. Thanks Diuberty ! Also nice to be able to speak with him in good english and french. Beaches : There are 3 beaches. One is the sunset beach, which is very quiet. There is another beach in front of the lobby and another near the breakfast restaurant. We always go to the bigger beach. When the water is quiet, you can even do some nice snorkeling. Pedro De La Torre, is there to help you find a nice spot and swip away the sand from your chair. He can tell you the weither just by looking at the clouds. We really appreciate this man. Andres at the beach bar is very nice and he works very hard. Thanks Andres and hope to see you next year.Entertainment :Navi, is responsible for the entertainment. All of the music group are very good. Food : All restaurants can accomodate you. They have 3 restaurants. The waiter, Luis at the « Los Navigantes » is very polite and will try to please you in any way he can. See that your needs are meet. It was nice to see him again.Pool Bar :If we go back to this resort, it’s mostly for Orestes, Osmany, Andres and Lester. They are all so nice. Pool BBQ :Piti and Buro are both very good chef. They make good pizza and other goodies at the grill. We enjoy talking to them and we also come back every year to see them. We are beach people and this place is just perfect and is like our second home.Had the chance to meet a few of the managers. Alisandro and Miguel are very kind and professional. Our stay was perfect ! Thank you so much MB!

Perfect honeymoon paradise

After a busy few days in Havana and Cienfuegos, we arrived at MBV to relax and that's exactly what we did.From our warm welcome at reception by wonderful staff we were taken to our room. Spacious, clean and well equipped with dressing room, jacuzzi tub and outdoor shower. There was also a small terrace looking out to sea - wonderful. Great towel art too.The staff at reception were the norm for MBV. The service, warmth and help from every member of staff we encountered was exceptional and the stars amongst them were Lester, Janisly and Erestus - thank you.There were no signs of the devastation Irma had bestowed on MBV, the staff had worked tirelessly to get the resort up and running. It was gorgeous and pristine.We both used the spa, I had a pedicure and a manicure and we both had a cuban massage (with oil and rum). It sounds a bit of a gimmick but the standard of the massage was excellent and bespoke.Food - breakfast and lunches were good and plentiful, we could eat from the buffet, meats, cheese, fruit and salads or order from the menus, all was pretty good. The pool grill was great too. We ate most evenings in Los Carribes restaurant. We enjoyed the food mainly, but choice and creativity were limited, it was well presented and served by the loveliest waitress Janisly. The wines were mainly Spanish and ok. Every evening there is a sunset ritual which is champagne and gentle live music on the beach - very romantic. Entertainment in the evening was generally traditional Cuban, very good and enjoyable.As a small resort it was quiet, civilised and intimate, we met lots of great people. Our stay at MBV was perfect for us.Thank you so much!!!Stevie Jackson

Your Saftey is compromised: During night in a semi-megency front desk never answers

On Jan 4 , 2018 at 2AM my wife suffered from a severe allergic reaction from mosquito bites. I gave her the pills and needed immediate help to get ice to help her walk, and perhaps go to the clinic if needed.We kept calling the front desk for more than 15-25-minutes, and no one was answering. I had to leave my wife alone in the room and ran to ask for help to either take her to the clinic or get her someice to see if it controls the reaction. I was shocked to see the reception and front desk empty, and its employee sleeping on the couches of the lobby reserved foe guests. In addition to the fact that he was asleep and I could not reach any help for an emergency while I am in my suit, he did not apologize or asked if I needed to go the clinic nearby. He simply denied that the phone rang, as I am lying.The resort was filled with friendly and good staff. The beaches are amazing. But I refuse to pay for a "5-star" hotel that leave their front desk employees sleeping on the couch, not answering the phones and risking the saftey of guests. If this was a more serious even a twenty minute delay in getting help can be fatal.This unexpected unbelievable disregard to the saftey of your clients is disturbing. I will never stay in Melia again if this is your standard for saftey and customer satisfaction for paying more than 5000CAD for two people for five nights!

Beautiful and pristine

We have been to Cuba four times now and always to Melia Buenavista. Once we have had the best it is difficult to settle for less. I was greatly concerned when Hurricane Irma hit my favorite resort as the news had indicated that the resort was destroyed. However through the strength of the Cuban military and the hard working staff of Melia, the resort was immaculate for our arrival on December 20th. You would never have guessed that Irma had hit this resort. To support all of the hard effort of the Cuban people, I decided to plan a trip over Christmas. What I like about Melia Buenavista is how quiet and serene it is. The snorkling is excellent and you can do it right off the beach. We saw a lot more younger couples showing up at this resort, which was nice to see. The staff at the resort is one of the main reasons why we always return to this resort. They are like family to us. They are so kind, friendly and respectful. I adore Lester (one of the bartenders at the pool bar). He is such a sweetheart. Yes, I can have a favorite. However, all of the gentlemen in the bar and the outdoor pizza place are fantastic. The tourists that come to this resort are fun to interact with. Everyone enjoys their time here in a mature, adult fashion. This resort is not like the larger resorts where people get silly and drink too much and spoil it for the rest of us. If you go to this resort, you will want to come back over and over again.
