Our OpinionPlease note that hotel standards in Cuba tend to be lower than in other Sun Destinations. Unless travelers are familiar with the resort or Cuban hotels, we typically recommend that travelers book a minimum 4 star resort when traveling to Cuba.
OverviewLocated in the Parque Cespedes (Plaza Carrillo) in the heart of Trinidad.
We visited Trinidad as part of our honeymoon and booked this hotel at the last minute after we found that our original hotel (the one on the hill) was not to our liking. The staff here are warm and friendly and the service is provided promptly and with little fuss. We would highly recommend Hotel La Ronda to any couple visiting the area.
Quaint hotel, clean and comfortable. I never did figure out the air conditioner and to stop it from blowing on my face all night long I just shut it off. Basically there are no windows that open but even if they did it would have been unbearably hot. Had a surprise visitor on night just inside my door - a huge banana type slug. UGH! So for the remainder of the stay I rolled up a towel for under my door. Every night they did this silly towel art which may or may not include some of your personal belongings which I found sort of creepy. Bartender on the roof adorable - he watched American basketball and baseball with us on the TV. Live quartet was very good and super nice - a special touch.
While traveling in Cuba on a people to people tour, we stayed at La Ronda. I was in mortal fear that this hotel was going to be horrible like the one we stayed at earlier in the week. Much to my pleasure this boutique style hotel was a gem in such a small town as Trinidad. The rooms were small but nicely appointed and very welcoming. The bed was comfortable and we got some good sleep while there. The bathroom was spotless and well designed. There were safes in the rooms and they were free to use. The employees were fabulous..very friendly and eager to please us. The bartender in the small bar upstairs was a great guy. He engaged us in interesting conversation and made a tasty mohito to boot. The breakfasts were lovely and we looked forward to the fruit plate each morning. There was a charming courtyard in the center of the rooms to relax in. One thing that really amazed us was the towel art which the maids created. You would have to see it to believe it...amazing. It's a small hotel but very quaint and comfortable.
This is a good comfortable hotel in a charming period building. Our room had a balcony at the front of the building with good views and we weren’t disturbed at all. The breakfasts were good though, like with reception, the service was erratically Cuban. The cleaning staff were charming and helpful, taking the local tradition of forming art from your bath towels to a new level using whatever props were available to fashion very cute and amusing figures on our bed. Our favourite hotel in Cuba.
Stayed here as part of our tour of Cuba. Comfortable. Good location. Very friendly staff. There is a little bar upstairs and a restaurant, a lovely group of musicians serenaded us. Prices seem reasonable. This hotel is very near the main square and you can walk everywhere from here.
