Please note that hotel standards in Cuba tend to be lower than in other Sun Destinations. Unless travelers are familiar with the resort or Cuban hotels, we typically recommend that travelers book a minimum 4 star resort when traveling to Cuba.

Hotel La Ronda

La Ronda is one of the best hotel in Trinidad. Location is perfect, everything with in walking distance. First impression is hospitality, when arrive to hotel felt warm welcoming and like at home. Especially many thanks to Ms. Laura, she was very kind,interested and helpful. Rooms, restaurant and common areas were clean. Breakfast is very delicious and it's a la carte service with no extra cost. My accomodation just for one night and was not enough, definitely will come back again and stay at La Ronda Hotel.

Booking a cross-country taxi

This review is not about the room. It's about the concierge service and booking a taxi for a ride to Cayo Guillermo. Cuba is amazing, but Cuba for tourists is still a hit or miss proposition as it comes to taxi rides. You have to be very flexible in your expectations or timing - if you cannot be, book a group tour. If you like to travel without a package tour, the taxis you reserve or book may not be the ones that come get you, the taxi drivers you think will be picking you up are the ones who come. You can either accept that and roll with the flow or be very demanding when booking (if in person) and say that you expect the car and driver in front of you (with no one else in the car!). At the Hotel La Ronda, unfortunately, the concierge booked us what was supposed to be a very nice car - the next morning, a broken down car came with the driver's friend accompanying us, and then he stopped after in the drive and we had to switch to another taxi and driver. In the end, we made it, but the difference between what we expected and what we got was the problem. So, let go of your expectations, and it will be a great trip!

We paid 250 eur for a night for a double room which turned out to be way too much for the quality received.Location is fine, but parking can be an issue.The check-in was quite quick with average politeness.The room we were given was a twin and they could not change it to double what was booked.Beds were too soft for us.The bathtub was funny, it had a ceiling shower right over the tap so it was impossible to stand under it.Something was leaking in the bathroom so the floor was wet all the time.AC was OK but the swing did not work.Breakfast service was polite and fast, food was OK.

The right hotel on the right spot

The location of the hotel in the old city center of Trinidad is top. The architecture and outside look of the hotel is one with the totally atmosphere of Trinidad. The staff is very kindly and helpful. Room are really nice and had all comfort you may aspect, much better than what we had elsewhere in Cuba in our private tour. Breakfast à la carte was simply luxury and great.

Cannot fault it, highly recommended

We stayed there for 3 nights last week and loved it. It has a great location and is run by friendly staff. It is well organised, spotlessly clean and it is hard to find fault. Only slight issue might be noise from the road if you have a room at the front hey, that's Cuba street life - soak it up as local charm, bring ear plugs for sleeping or request a room that opens on to the inner courtyard. The courtyard is an oasis of calm from the hustle and bustle outside and there is also a great first floor bar with views of the street thta is unexpectedly tranquil, great for a sundowner. We popped into the 5 star Iberostar next door and thought it lacked character and atmosphere. In our opinion, this is a much better option if you can get a room.
