- What's Included
Our OpinionPlease note that hotel standards in Cuba tend to be lower than in other Sun Destinations. Unless travelers are familiar with the resort or Cuban hotels, we typically recommend that travelers book a minimum 4 star resort when traveling to Cuba.
OverviewLocated on the north coast in Miramar, the western part of Havana. It is a perfect setting for both honeymooners and businessmen. A family atmosphere compliments its comfort and services.
This property is about a $15 - $20 cab ride from the city center, the staff are unhelpful, and our room had termites eating away at the desk. Casa particulares were so much better!! Avoid this place if you can.
I transferred to this hotel having stayed 3 previous nights at the Mecure Sevilla which was right near Habana Veija. What a relief it was. This hotel was one quarter the price of the Sevilla, aside from the location, it was a better hotel.I was fortunate to be put into room 505, top floor, in the corner, the room was enormous. The room was dirty, the bed sheets questionable and the shower leaked everywhere, but it was quiet so I had 5 very good nights sleep. This room had a huge balcony looking straight into the aquarium. The buffet breakfast was ok, nothing special but good enough to set me up for the day.The pool was excellent and hardly anyone used it. This hotel is a taxi ride from anywhere (except the aquarium which is next door) but considering the price I felt more comfortable here then closer in the city.
The hotel is way out of town and there is very little to do here other than visit the nearby aquarium! If you're lucky you can head down to the next hotel and catch the hop on/hop off bus just to give you something to do, otherwise a taxi will cost you 20 cuc.
We stayed here one night while in Havanna. Staff was very friendly and motivated. Room was huge with balcony and there was a hot shower with decent water pressure (not normal in Cuba) Everything was clean. The meals in the restaurant were quite delicious. Overall I would stay here again.
Room clean and spacious.Air con works and thankfully not too noisy.Small and friendly.Breakfast is fairly basic help yourself, but nothing to complain about.Coffee is instant but you can get espresso at the bar.Pool is salt water. Be careful if you want to relax as each day of the weekend it had been hired out for parties for locals. Good for Cubans who wouldn't normally have access to hotels, not so good if you want a bit of peace and quiet in small hotel. It's possible it was one off (on both days!) but I doubt it.Annoying that reception didn't have wifi cards on a couple of days during my five day visit. - sorry to say not surprising as par for the course in Cuba. There's usually something that is not available.Given hotels in Havana seem so full these days, this is a good, reliable option, especially if you like so,etching smaller with a pool.Food in evenings in bar and restaurant is fine.Hotel was very helpful when I had an early start and left before 7am breakfast. I was impressed by that.
