Had a great time met lots of friends again for the second time we will be back . Love you all .Food was good , free shuttle into city which was the best and the beach is amazing you can walk for miles .Guanabo is the little town along the beach lots of little bars to have a drink and there is a market there which is very cheap to pick up gifts to bring home .Go you will love it
Stayed at this hotel in September 2016.Great weather . Small Hotel with a great Beach ,and very close to Havana (20 min. By taxi)The rooms here needs a lot of work. Food was just ok., it's a 3* hotel anyway. The restaurant buffet needs new table cloths, the ones they are using a very very stained and dirty. They should use nothing ... it will be better.Going to Havana it was easy from there. I had massages three times at the hotel( great experiences) The beach gets busy in the weekends with people from Havana.
If you are looking for luxury keep going, but if you want to live close to Cuban culture it's the place to be. This was our first trip to Cuba, we chose this as our family Christmas vacation. My brother, his wife and son and me and my husband and daughter. -***cleanliness is A+.****The maids were nice and did not steal from us. We had Marta all week which was nice because you gained a rapport. -****entertainment A+ ****with the very minimal funding they receive from the hotel. Meals ****breakfast gets and F! They serve Brussel sprouts and really gross cereal. ****Lunch is usually pretty good ****Dinner is also fair but mostly what seems to be leftovers from lunch with a couple added dishes. **** Snack bars suck! They only serve snacks in certain time slots and make you feel like you have to beg for something. Example we 4 adults were drinking and they would not give us food until after midnight! After badgering the bartender for almost 30 min he finally slapped some ham on buns and demanded a tip! They shut down the music at 11 pm and won't turn it back on. My brother had a friend that lives in Cuba so we were fortunate to have him show us around Old Havana. It's very beautiful but you have to be careful. Do not give people money on the streets. A woman that was there from our hotel gave a lady money for milk for a baby. The lady told everyone she was giving out money and people were lining up!!Everything costs money, no toilet seats outside of the hotel and no toilet paper. You have to tip a woman or man outside of the bathroom to get a piece of toilet paper they have ripped off the roll. Take little travel tissues it's much cleaner and hover lolThe beaches are beautiful and absolutely stunning at night. After about 5pm the jelly fish start washing up to shore so be careful not to step on one ☝🏻 Overall Hotel Atlantico would be better if they weren't so stingy with food and actually appreciated their guests! Some staff were fantastic --entertainment and maintenanceBar and servers in the buffet were terrible Reception was satisfactory I'm sorry to be negative Nancy but I'm really upset about this trip. It has detoured me from ever returning to Cuba !
Reasonably priced, decent service, the buffet was better than I remembered. The place is a little run down but I expected that, it celebrated it's 60th year. The rooms were dated but everything functioned. The pool was crowded with Cubans paying to spend the afternoon but it wasn't too annoying. All in all, a pretty good experience that would have me return given the opportunity.
What a trip we had! My friend & I stayed at Atlantico from Sept 24th - Oct 1st. We chose the hotel because we wanted to be close to Havana. And we got a great deal. It is a 3-star hotel, so you need to keep this in mind when you are booking!!! They were doing reno's while we were there, so they are trying to update it. It is a hidden gem that just needs some TLC! The layout of the hotel is great. The beach was fantastic. The pool bar was pretty awful though. Poor service and not much choice for drinks, but there was beer! And we mostly drank beer while we were there. And the white wine. The white wine they served was delicious. Special shout outs to Adonis & Luida from the entertainment staff, they were so fun! Adonis took us out dancing at a local spot in Alamar one night, it was a blast! The free shuttle bus to Havana was great, but you have to reserve a day in advance, and it leaves at 9:30am, not back until 6. That is a long day in hot, hot Havana! You can pay 5 CUC and take a bus that has more departure options and no reservations required. Havana is just amazing, highly recommend going. I would stay at the hotel again for sure, I already miss the friends that we made.Side note - you are going to Cuba. Keep this in mind, and don't complain about things that you already know about Cuba. The food here was good in my opinion. But I LOVE fish, rice, bread, and seafood. And omelettes for breakfast every morning is fine by me! And DO NOT litter on the beach! It is shocking to me that people think it's okay to leave their plastic cups & beer cans on the beach. Littering isn't okay no matter where you go. Bring your own travel mug; helps the environment and makes for less trips to the bar. ;)
