Reasonably priced, decent service, the buffet was better than I remembered. The place is a little run down but I expected that, it celebrated it's 60th year. The rooms were dated but everything functioned. The pool was crowded with Cubans paying to spend the afternoon but it wasn't too annoying. All in all, a pretty good experience that would have me return given the opportunity.
What a trip we had! My friend & I stayed at Atlantico from Sept 24th - Oct 1st. We chose the hotel because we wanted to be close to Havana. And we got a great deal. It is a 3-star hotel, so you need to keep this in mind when you are booking!!! They were doing reno's while we were there, so they are trying to update it. It is a hidden gem that just needs some TLC! The layout of the hotel is great. The beach was fantastic. The pool bar was pretty awful though. Poor service and not much choice for drinks, but there was beer! And we mostly drank beer while we were there. And the white wine. The white wine they served was delicious. Special shout outs to Adonis & Luida from the entertainment staff, they were so fun! Adonis took us out dancing at a local spot in Alamar one night, it was a blast! The free shuttle bus to Havana was great, but you have to reserve a day in advance, and it leaves at 9:30am, not back until 6. That is a long day in hot, hot Havana! You can pay 5 CUC and take a bus that has more departure options and no reservations required. Havana is just amazing, highly recommend going. I would stay at the hotel again for sure, I already miss the friends that we made.Side note - you are going to Cuba. Keep this in mind, and don't complain about things that you already know about Cuba. The food here was good in my opinion. But I LOVE fish, rice, bread, and seafood. And omelettes for breakfast every morning is fine by me! And DO NOT litter on the beach! It is shocking to me that people think it's okay to leave their plastic cups & beer cans on the beach. Littering isn't okay no matter where you go. Bring your own travel mug; helps the environment and makes for less trips to the bar. ;)
so nice-you get what u pay for and if u tip-service is excellent-sit in joses section at dinner-best service-nice singing group at dinner-good food-never got sick and this was a first in cuba-go for the chicken-the staff eat the food too-great coffee in the lobby bar-like the best cappucino i have had in my life-just simple drinks=-walk down the road to mingle with the locals at the market
This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Everything is outdated. Drinks are served on a 8 ounce plastic cup. Rooms are outdated. There is a fee to use the safe (really?) Air conditioning works but it is as a loud as a car engine. Food is really bad (even pasta is not good). It is really far from downtown Havana.
This is the worse hotel I have ever been to - it is very dated with a depressing feel to it - grey and miserable. The food was appaling and such poor quality and since the drink was free there were a lot of drunk people around. The only nice thing about it was the beach. The staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful either. Never again....
