We stayed for 2 days. In the first room the window was wide open and could not be closed. The furniture was quite damaged and many bathroom tiles were damaged. The air conditioning did not work. We asked to change rooms. A similar picture the window was closed, but the air conditioning only just worked. Again, the furniture was damaged and the bathroom had seen better days. Shower head really scaled up and very loose.....It was fairly clean though in the rooms. The toilet behind the reception however was appaling. The reception area was presentable. The food was good with a wide choice and plenty.
We visited as part of a short stay break. The hotel is located someway from the city centre in the diplomatic district, the outside is Imposing and the lobby very modern. For a short stay hotel it meets the needs of the traveller with spacious rooms and a degree of climate control. The rooms could be cleaner, and are definately looking worn in places, that said, we found the staff helpful and a good base to visit the city from.Other than looking worn, be aware that if you are planning to visit the city centre you will have a short and relatively expensive drive. Plus points, the pool is large clean and has plenty of subnets, a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon recovering from walking around the city. The breakfast menu is large, varied and very enjoyable. Thecart in the lobby is also well worth a look.In short a good base if you are prepared For the short trip into town.
We chose this hotel as part of a multi-centre for 3 nights before moving onto Varadero. Hotel was adequate for what we needed, which was a base to explore from. Food was ok(ish) breakfast was everything we expected. As we were only B&B we ate in the restaurant in the foyer, which was basic and had ran out of most things. Pool was clean and plenty of beds. Corridors were tatty and in need of refurbishment but the rooms were ok. All in all it was average,
We stayed here for 3 nights whilst on our 2 week Cuba holiday. Great externals and reception area. We only used the hotel as a base to explore Havana so didnt use the pool area, however it looked very nice! We ate breakfast every day, plenty of choice, all very tasty. We didnt use the buffet for lunch or dinner but did eat in the snack bar, food was good and reasonably priced. Cocktails in the lobby bar were good and although we didnt stay for the entertainment there did seem to be something on every night. Being about 15 mins from Old Havana meant taking a taxi to go out, but when the taxis are classic cars you really dont mind! The bell boys can arrange them for you and the drivers will often give you information on the area and cost around 20CUC We attended the Tropicana show whilst we were there and the hotel arranged a car to pick us up after the show too.Everyone was very helpful and the hotel and our room was clean and spacious. We had a great 3 nights and if we were staying in the Miramar area again we would be happy to use the Memories Miramar again.
We were holidaying in Cuba and decided to go on an overnight trip to Havana. The coach trip to Havana took nearly 6 hrs from our hotel. We stopped once at a cafe for nibbles and toilet. Take toilet paper with you or you will be charged. After our trip around Havana we went to this hotel, we were already staying at a Memories hotel in Cayo Santa Maria, the reception area was quite impressive. After we had booked in we went to the lift, it was all mirrored and needed cleaning as did the inside. Having found our floor we looked for our room, the corridor needed a bit of a clean and refurbish. On entering our room we were pleasantly surprised, until that is until we went into the bathroom. The ceiling was coming away, the bath area was mouldy and there were insects running about. Also one of the handles on the mirrored wardrobe was off and consequently it was very sharp and somebody could have really hurt themselves. We went down to dinner in a very large restaurant, it was clean and had plenty of food to choose from. After dinner we went into the lounge area which had a few white sofas and tables and chairs. There was a group on which consisted of 8 girls singing and player instruments. There were very good. After breakfast in the morning we checked out and got on with our tourIf only the hotel had been looked after better it would have been a perfect place to stay
