Our Opinion
Please note that hotel standards in Cuba tend to be lower than in other Sun Destinations. Unless travelers are familiar with the resort or Cuban hotels, we typically recommend that travelers book a minimum 4 star resort when traveling to Cuba.

Overview
Originally constructed in 1928, this hotel was once the pride of Havana. Centrally located in Havana Vieja, just 2 short blocks from the Museo de Bella Artes (The Museum of Beautiful Arts) and Central Park in Colon and Morro streets.

Location: 5 mins to Downtown Havana and 45 mins from Havana Airport.

Good Hotel

Stayed here as part of the G-Adventures group. Rooms were ok, service was very good and very friendly. They even helped me out after a mishap at the Airport, which was my fault. Beware standing outside though, you get hustled just standing outside!

Good Location but

The location of the hotel is very central and you can get to a lot of the highlights of Old Town Havana and other areas on foot. However, the hotel is very tired and we did not have hot water many times during our two night stay. The breakfast was very limited and not tasty.

Would stay here

I wasn't expecting much when I booked at park view but even so I was disappointed- especially hearing about other travellers accomodation and how much they pay. For Havana this hotel is way overpriced. A youth hostel would be a better way to describe it. ( I wasn't permitted by staff to bring a local friend to my room which I though was ridiculous). The lift wouldn't work most of the time , it took about 5 minutes to get barely warm water out of the taps , the breakfast is bland and the beds are uncomfortable. Fellow travels were using air BnB and couldn't stop raving about it especially since they were paying US$35 a night and that was for a full apartment. Absolutely loved Havana - I would say it's the best holiday I've had for a long time - but don't stay here.

Very Practical!

We visited Havana as a school tour group with 23 High School Sophomores and Juniors from outside of Boston. The Park View was clean, with good service, and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is included each morning, each day consisting of at least fruit, cold cuts, juice, coffee, and bread, but sometimes including eggs and cereal. It is in a more touristy part of Havana, safe for walking and in a good location, accessibility wise. The maids and doormen are very kind. As for wifi, you can purchase 1 hour cards for 4.50 CUCs in the lobby, though an insider secret: wifi cards are only 2 CUCs at the Hotel Sevilla across the way, or 7.50 for 5 hours down the block. Each card applies to one device only, though you can log out.

Friendly, but looks like a Youth Hostel

We stayed with our family (6 persons) in three rooms for 2 nights. The staff was very friendly and supportive, but the rooms looked very old fashioned. The beds were not very comfortable; the elvatore broke so that we had to take our luggage down from the 4th floor to the exit,... All over all: you have a great location to start your trip in the old Havanna, but be prepared to reduce your expectations about the comfort at the hotel.
