When it comes to holidays, as a Travel Agent, I am a hotel snob! Many of my clients return to Playa Pesquero year on year, hearing such great feedback from them, I decided to try PP for our family holiday ( party of 7, 4 Adults, 20yrs, 18yrs, 15yrs)After a 25 hour delay, we arrived at Playa Pesquero to a band playing, refreshing drinks were handed to out, to a long queue of very tired British guests, check in was very quick and easy, we were whisked away in golf buggies to our rooms. The rooms, although a little dated, were large with exceptionally large comfy beds, air con, TV with good selection of channels, the cleaning staff were exceptional, towels and bed linen changed daily. Mini fridge was replenished daily with water, beer and soft drinks.Food & Drink - so much choice! Buffet restaurant with around 10 cooking stations, you can choose to have your fish, meat, pasta, eggs cooked exactly as you like them, so much choice. You have the option of 4 A La Carte restaurants each week, Seafood, Italian, Romantico were our favourite. Plus you have the beer garden, serving freshly cooked chicken, prawns, fries, calamari etc 24 hours per day.Evening entertainment really does have something for everyone, with daily live shows, karaoke bar, 24 hour sports bar, mini disco, sports bar with table tennis, pool table, boules, giant drafts etc.The main lobby is wonderful, lots of different area's to choose from, premium branded drinks, the most amazing lemon & pineapple slush drinks, coffee train, serving the best coffee's and chocolates that will beat starbucks any day of the week! The swimming pool is enormous, different depths to suit small children and confident swimmers, there are enough sun loungers for everyone, you will never have to be up at the crack of dawn to put your towels out! Beach games and competitions every day.Now for my favourite part of the holiday - THE BEACH!! As a travel agent, I have travelled to many Caribbean islands, I can honestly say the beach at Playa Pesquero is one of the best! Beautiful powder white sands, gently shelving turquoise warm sea. Catermaran's, canoes, pedaloes, snorkelling etc Beach Volleyball, Aqua aerobics in the Caribbean sea - ALL INCLUDED IN YOUR HOLIDAY.The Cuban people are some of the friendliest, most hard working I have ever came across anywhere in the world. Please take into consideration the price you will get this amazing holiday at, it is in most cases cheaper than many European basic All Inclusive holidays, the value for money is exceptional.5-Star Luxury it is not, but it is an exceptional 4-Star 24 Hour All Inclusive Caribbean Resort, you will struggle to find anything that matches what you are getting for the price of this amazing holiday. Will I go back? Yes in a heart beat, already looking to book for next year!If anyone would like honest, impartial advise and how to get the best priced holiday for Playa Pesquero, please feel free to get in touch.
Great Family Resort: rooms are kept clean, awesome bathrooms, pretty good food (remember, this is cuba), amazing service. Had an issue with ants in our rooms - they definitely tried very hard to address it. Pools were nice - by the end of the day, was a little grimy. VERY HOT when we went - was tough becasue dinners became almost unbearable (no air conditioning except in the rooms).
Just back from Cuba all i can say is avoid it like the plague, dirty rooms showers not working not cold water bins not emptied for days....cockroaches.....Food was hard to get and very very poor for an all inclusive holiday we did not eat for two days... No clean tables always had to sit at dirty tables. While what they classed as premium restaurants (they were not) used to sit emptyThomas Cook employees Cuban reps which is great but they do not understand your complaints as they have never experienced anything elseSome staff very friendly and helpful others rude and could not care lessLarge pool nice beach clear blue seas but the rest let it down badly they have approx 60 premium rooms and facilities which they want you to upgrade to ,,,but we had children and its adults only but went for a look round only 14 rooms in use and apart from modern decor ...Could not see this would help the issuesThere were 7 in our party and everybody experience a bad stomach on more than one occasion .... please do not be fooled save your money and go somewhere else
Quite a walk from the plane to get to the airport, got through all the security checks then off to get on our bus to travel to our hotel which was about an hour away. When we got to the hotel we were greeted with cold drinks and a band playing music, checking in was quite quick then we got onto a buggy to go to our room, the room was lovely and cool and clean, we went to find the bar that served food late as time was getting on now. Next morning we went to breakfast and the first restaurant was huge and had trouble trying to find a table for seven of us but we found a smaller restaurant which was quieter and so we went to that one every day, the food was fine typical all inclusive, the staff were amazing and always had a smile and could not do enough to help.the pools were also amazing as was the beach.I would so love to go back to this hotel as we all had a fantastic time.
We arrived at the hotel a day late after an horrendous flight but so worth waiting for. Was a little worried when we were told how big the hotel was but all those concerns were unfounded when reassured by holiday returners and staff that there was always transport available and there was. Great as my daughters has some mobility issues. The room was excellent and we were so well situated for food pool and beach! The beach was beautiful and staff helpful and friendly bringing sun beds to wherever you wanted them! The bar waiter equally as helpful and food at the resteraunt by the beach as good service was probably the best here. What we love bed was the choice for food at lunch time and places to get a drink. We enjoyed the ala carte resteraunts good food good service. Our maid was delightful room well cleaned some great creations out of towels. My only criticism would be not enough staff in the buffet and at the bar you always had to wait an age fora drink at the main bar and particularly for drinks tea and coffee etc at breakfast because staff were so busy. Food was good particularly fresh mango every day. All in all a good break and would return
