We stayed at this hotel from 5th June 2017 till 19th. First impression was that our room looked very tired and dated so we upgraded to superior room which was better. On our second day we went to the beach and had pizza for lunch which was edible my husband had ham on his pizza and the day after he was sick and had diarrhea for about 4 days which 3 of the days he never left the room so I had to go for breakfast and lunch on my own I didn't bother having dinner because I was on my own. I got him some meds from pharmacy. I rang reception to get extra water but I couldn't have more than 2 bottles at a time?! So due to my husband being ill we were reluctant to try other food so lived off pasta & rice for the rest of our holiday. Needless to say we won't be coming back to stay at this hotel
Went to playa pesquero in may 4 2 weeks arrived at hotel quick check in quick transfer to room.Rooms has I read previously a bit dated but very clean every day cleaned and fridge restocked. We have no complaints of any part of this hotel staff so friendly and very helpful I like a Joke and a wind up all staff get involved make your holiday that much better food superb in all al a Carte restaurants with great service.Pool bar service excellent got to no staff at pool bar they new wat u were drinking.Did the island paradise trip this is a must wat a experience and idyllic place to visit.I would highly recommend this hotel. We met lots of lovely people at this resort.24 hour bar superb for snacks and drinks.Beach is the best beaches I have been to water sports in the ai deal just a couple of quid tip goes a long way.
Really cheap hotel for what you get. The food can get repetitive but you cant expect anything different from an all inclusive. The hotel grounds are kept very well and the beach is lovely and the water is really clear. Bring a snorkel to make the most of it.
We spent a LONG time looking at holidays for our first holiday as a married couple. After hours upon hour of research, I can confidently say we couldnt have made a better choice for us.The hotel really does feel like a tropical paradise, and well deserving of a five star review. I will cover the main areas we looked at ( hotel & facilities, food and drink & service) and Ill be as objective as I can – there are a couple of minor niggles, which I will outline, but they are trivial.Hotel & Facilities: (5/5) Its a big hotel. But it never really feels big. Its set out as more of a villiage, with a cascading semi-circle of room blocks away from reception. There are regular buggies to shuttle you around, but nowhere is too far to walk. The grounds are impecible. Its spotless. Its a tropical paradise that feels peaceful as soon as you get here. I wont list all the facilities as you can see them elsewhere – but it has EVERYTHING – and more. Its private beach is heaven – white sands, clear water and coconuts galore. Pool is huge and stunning, and always loungers available. Slight niggle is internet is extra and quite limited – one hour passes for wifi need to be purchased that are only available in certain areas. Food & Drink: (4/5) This was the big one for us, and we were not dissapointed. The buffets are vast, with enough choice to satisfy anyone, with food ‘stations' where things like lobster and steak are cooked in front of you mixed with a traditional buffet style fayre. Breakfast is a particular highlight, and the fresh fruit is AMAZING. (Just a note as I have read other reviews about the food on here... remember, you are in CUBA. If you want the same food cooked in the same way as at home, save yourself the 8 hour flight). The restaurants are high end and impressive (blokes, remeber your trousers!) and well worth booking. Snack bars are plentiful and always available.Couple of niggles which knocked a mark of for this. Firstly, it is boiling in the restaurants – especially the buffet when busy and you are in the inner part. If you arent sat in a breeze, you literally drip sweat trying to eat. Also, the buffet can feel a little congested, especially at peak times. In fairness, busy times are highlighted – but unless you change your eating times it can be busy (and hot!) Also – nothing against wearing trousers in the restaurant but it does need to be much cooler. There is air con in the rooms, and whilst its not great it is sufficient.Drink – a wide variety is available but premium spirits only on happy hour. The coffee bar is amazing, serving the best coffee ever. Drinks tend to be small but strong – lots of people bringing flaks to get bigger servings. Ive read some negative comments about drink choices but we were perfectly satisfied. Service: (5/5) From the way they make your bed every morning to not letting your glass ever reach empty, the service is exceptional and the staff are a credit to the hotel.Other point to note is the spa is incredible (according to my wife!) and well worth a visit. In summary, from being indecisive about where we were going to go this is the only holiday we have been on that we would genuinely consider coming back next year. We could have paid 50% more and still felt like we were getting value. Dont let any negative reviews put you off – it really is almost perfect. There is everything you could possibly want in this hotel and the week went by far too quickly.
Just returned after 2 weeks at Hotel Playa Pesquero. This has been our 5th time to Cuba but first time at this Resort and we would love to return to this amazing country and wonderful Hotel. It seems that from some of the reviews, that some people are just determined to find faults. It strikes me that if all your going to do is moan, then stay in your spotless 5 star homes and let people who are a bit more open minded enjoy the delights that places like Cuba have to offer. Hotel Playa Pesquero is a huge resort set in stunningly maintained gardens, right on the sea front of one of the best beaches in Cuba. It is manned by friendly, welcoming, hardworking staff from the toilet cleaners, right up to general managers. Nothing ever appears to be too much trouble. As they say, a smile goes a long long way. Of course in a place of this size, you will find something to moan about if you want to, but I would suggest that most problems are probably caused by other guests. We found the food over all to be of a very high standard, bearing in mind the availability of certain things in Cuba. If you had something you were not happy with, then it was probably your own fault for choosing it. There was plenty of choices for all meals and on top of which, the restaurant staff were happy to recommend. We visited all four al a carte restaurants twice and all staff were extremely friendly and did their best to make your visit special. At lunchtime you could get meals from the Mojito bar, The Trattoria or the beer garden if you didn't want to queue up for the buffet. Also pizza on the beach. A regular supply of some of the best ice cream we have ever had from the ice cream parlour. The coffee train was fantastic. Forget Starbucks, this was the best coffee ever. Yes there are problems with birds and insects but the hotel tries to do everything possible to keep them away. But when you see the size of this hotel you will then realise what a massive task this is. What beer garden have you ever been to in the UK and not had wasps, flies or birds around you?. This is a lovely Hotel in an amazing location, staffed by great people. If your reading this and wondering whether to book, as NIKE would say 'just do it'. Cuba is a wonderful experience for people with an open mind.Thank you to all staff at Hotel Playa Pesquero.
