This was our 5th visit to this hotel, yes we still enjoyed it but it isn't what it used to be, the staff continue to work hard, noticeable to us is Yaime in the beach restaurant , she always remembers us each year, think she should be Manager at this restaurant , and Alfredo beach waiter is brilliant, but this year we did sit the other side of the beach as the more comfortable beds were that side. The al a carte food isn't as good, we ate several times in the premium side for total of 50 pesos for 2 of us its really worth it but the menu is not very extensive good service though,I think we are done with this hotel now, but we may return, but if I want to have a moan, the clientele standard has dropped to many drunks, dress code needs to be addressed, lpeople don't move the litter off the beach when they leave , the pool area needs a revamp and so do all the rooms,( we don't use the pool area we like the beach) I think a lot has been spent on the premium side and the normal side has got forgotten, the premium side is way over priced if I was paying that kind of money I would go to a better island. Will we return maybe not
Holiday began on a wonderful note, we were given priority check in with a glass of bubbly whilst we were waiting. We were upgraded to a honeymoon suite which was beautiful. To celebrate our honeymoon we were also treated to a bottle of champagne in our room, breakfast in bed and a late check out.......all from a hopeful email that I sent the week before our hols. I cannot praise the staff enough, they work incredibly hard and always have a smile for you. The food selection is great, something good to eat at any time of the day or night. If like us you do not like pre-prepared buffet food then use the fresh cooking stations where you can choose from a wide range of seafood, meats, veggies and salads. The A la carte restaurants were good, in particular the Romantico restaurant, excellent service and delicious food. The rose in the crown of this resort is the picture perfect beach........lying on a sunbed, pinacolada in hand listening to the gentle waves-absolute bliss!!There is a fantastic choice of drinks, you name it they will make it! The only negative point was the restroom at the beach, they are really bad and are in desperate need of refurbishment.Thank you Playa Pesquero for the perfect honeymoon, we will definitely be back to celebrate our first wedding anniversary
If you haven't been to Cuba - 5 stars is not what you would get in the rest of the world - always go thinking a 3 star and then be pleasantly surprised. This was our first time at this hotel and it is miles above what we have seen in Cuba before. The service was exceptional and I took others advice in requesting change from the staff so we would have tip money - never a problem. That said I never felt I had to tip. We had hot water the whole time however it would take about 5mins of wee tiny adjustments to the shower to ensure you wouldn't get burned. The food ranged from ok to excellent - go to the Cuban place for fried chicken - it is the best I've ever had. The bed was comfortable and the room nice and cool. Yes this is a large resort but honestly you don't need to use the trolley service although it was like watching Wall-E in person. You wont have anyone bothering you on the beach for "that nice shirt" like you do at many resorts. On the down side both my husband and I had some tummy troubles but we managed. Would we go again - most likely.
We came last year in April with 2 friends on our 4th holiday in Cuba and this establishment by far was the best we had stayed at, so we are returning this year, on 27 th February with six of our family who have never been to Cuba before , We found all the staff went out of their way to make our holiday and were rather spoilt by the little man with his drinks trolley around the pool and Ania in the restaurant who always greeted us with a lovely smile and polite conversation , Good variety of food at meal times to choose from and snacks always available in the Beer Garden ( where beer served in iced glasses. Very tasty chicken and chips served at lunch time in the Mojito Bar Our favourite ala cartel restaurant was the Romantico but the others were also very acceptable, Roomswe rated very tidy and clean to an average standard ( we stayed in Block 50 ground floor) with additional benefits of a free safe ,free air conditioning and a fridge which was stocked daily with water ,soft drinks and beer, We found the buggies very useful as we are in our 70.s Looking forward to seeing you all soon , Margaret and David Jones, Halesowen , West Midlands England
I stayed at PP in the Premium section with my husband and 2 adult daughters 12/12/16-19/12/16, the premium section rooms, pool, staff and service are amazing, unfortunately my daughter and I became ill while we were there with very bad "tummy" troubles, I was still very ill when arriving home, and after tests with my GP have been diagnosed with E-Coli AND Salmonella Poisoning, I will never be returning to this resort
