First time in Cuba what an amazing experience and lovely time , 2 things let down Wifi and entertainment!Food amazing also drink ,You can not fault this place .i can not wait to go back and visit again 🇨🇺👍
Originally my partner and myself should of stayed in cayo coco to celebrate our 50th birthday. Unfortunately due to tbe damage of irma was unable to stay their. We decided due to good reviews to change to pp ee ignored the bad reviews as we thought it was normal for people to complain.Well let me just say i will most certainly take the bad reviews seriously in future i never complain about anywhere i have stayed but i feel i need to so people are aware before they book.When arriving we was allocated to block 46 first impression room was ok bit outdated but nothing special although we had upgraded to superior thinking we would have a bit extra for the £300 extra we paid well the bit extra was a bottle of rum.We turned the shower on and the bath tap spun round and their was no pressure what so ever just a trickle of water. We phoned for someone to have at the shower and bath tap in the mean time ran the water in the sink and it would not drain then all of a sudden all dead insects and dirt came up from the drains and filled the sink. When they came to the shower they un screwed the shower head and it was full of dead insects and dirt like the sink. The bath tap he said tomorrow.. .to cut a long story short we were moved to block 55. No different although the shower and sink ok air con non existent.Lobby bar where which was the main buffet was alot to be desired poor hygiene and dry overcooked food to the extent i could not cut the meat with a knife let alone chew it. Breakfast was by far the best meal as we could prepare our own toast. Al'carte was better but in my opinion should of been available in the main buffet.Pool areas filthy dirty sunbeds dirty pool dirty surroundings pool only cleaned once in the whole 2 weeks we were their that day was 10 o'clock in the morning the person who cleaned it had a mask and gloves on throwing white crystals in the pool where people were sitting children were in the pool and not told to get out then after someone asking we couldnt entdr the pool for an hour at least. Their was alot of people who had contracted ear infections.The last night we spent their the food was that bad my partner ate for his tea a bowl of peanuts i ended up with pasta.Anyway i could go on but i think ive moaned enough although thomson travel agent does not sell holidays on the island due to poor standards i can certaimly see why. I hope people will take notice of my review.....
We are currently staying here in the premium section.I will give a fair and honest account.I love to read TripAdvisor before I go on holiday because I like to do my research etc.The premium section is amazing the butlers the housekeeping just fantastic.My only gripe is when it rains the outside shower leaks inside but that's not a big deal.The staff here are wonderful and never expect a tip but I tip a few cuc here and there The food was lovely and they will cook most things off the menu if they are able too.We have ventured over to the main hotel.The hotel is lovely but the guests there are shameful.British openly bragging about being on benefits and so on swearing at kids rude to staff!I love a drink but some guests take it too far.The Canadians are also drunk loud and rude in both sides. That for me let the hotel down but they can't control that.We went on an open top red bus to guandalavaca (can't spell lol)5 cuc each.In my opinion not worth it.Not much to see or do.Except a beach.And less than ten market stalls.We went to market square and asked the man at the front how much?10 cuc! Return a 6 min walk lol Got to the roundabout and we were offered by one of horse drivers 6 cuc return so I'm not sure if he at the front pockets the rest? Which I have no issues with.All in all the staff the hotel is wonderful.Cubans are lovely warm and kind.And Cuba is beautiful.The only let down is disrespectful guests both in premium and main buildings I only hope they don't think all British are lazy drunks some of us work very hard.I will certainly be recommending this hotel to friends and family.Pictures are of the bath our butler did and of the sea and beach!
Returned from our vacation from November 5th to Nov 14th. The weather was very warm. There pools are large and nice but could have been cleaner, Only saw the pool cleaned once but not the whole pool was a little disappointing, the dirt and junk was flotting around. Lobby was very big and very nice and kept very clean. Bring a flashlight as the lightening is very poor as take note if it rains its very slippery and dangerous. The a la cartes are very good but was disappointed in buffet was not impressed, brakfast was the only meal that we enjoyed there. The grounds are kept nice. The beach is not bad but there is a bit of coral when you first enter but once past the coral its nice. We were in Block 10 it was nice and maid kept our room very clean no issues there. We did find after supper there is not enough choice of entertainment. High light of our trip was meeting a fab couple (sasha & Ash) which we now keep on contact with now. One a la carte in particular that we really loved was Romantico. All in all Playa Pesquero is a nice resort. They just have a few issues to address. But we will return to Cayo Coco as that is where are heart is.
We are returing guests and stayed here for the 2nd time end of October til early November 2017. Unfortunately this hotel is not what it was 18months ago. We were in block 24. It was ok but not at all as nice as 55 where we were last time. The room itself was clean but our patio furniture was all broken! Our safe was broken on arrival so we rang the reception and they were brilliant came straight out and resolved the problem. We had a toilet that wouldn’t flush and it took 2 days for maintenance to come and fix it. We had to report it twice! The filter was not working in the pool and it was dirty! I also saw one of the cooks touching raw meat and then touching peoples plates without washing her hands. My daughter was very ill and put on a drip, had and injection and put on medication during the 2nd week of our stay,Either due to water contamination from the pool, contamination of the food or both. No, it is a not a problem with my daughters hygiene. It is a problem with the hotels! My husband and other daughter were also poorly for most of the duration of our stay. I saw a child vomiting around the pool and know of some peoples children being put on a drip too. The food wasn’t great..well compared to last time we went. Flies everywhere, I understand you can’t help flies but most of the food was not covered properly!! My husband saw a dead fly on a piece of raw food and the cook just flicked it off and cooked it for someone! Not acceptable. Fries stone cold in the main buffet. Food ALWAYS cold in the beer garden. My husband enjoyed the chicken in the mojito bar for lunch. The best place to eat is definitely Trattoria for lunch. Food always hot and service fantastic. Really lovely staff here. Norbrelis (lovely caring lady) always a lovely smile and was there to give us anything we needed 😀. Also she makes the best Mojitos!! Not that i had many due to the hotel not having any mint for the first week of our stay. I am very aware they had a hurricane not long before our visit so therefore I do understand they are having a shortage on some items. As a returing guest we were invited to the Gala dinner. We got our invite in our room and rang to confirm we would be attending. So, we got all dressed up as you do to get to the front of the restaurant to find there is no seats left? Disappointed is an understatement! Gutted, off to the Buffet we went....This hotel no longer seems to serve premium drinks at the bar. Major cutbacks yet we still pay the same price as last year! I found you can occasionally get a premium drink from the little trolley that goes around the lobby in the evenings. As always the staff were lovely and the gardeners too ( lots of coconuts from these guys! :) but as gutted as I am to say, we will not be returning to this resort again. It’s such a shame because it can be so much more, which it was back in March 2016. It is a beautiful hotel with beautiful grounds and beautiful people but I think the premium is now the managements priority and they are letting the standard side of the hotel go. Amazing staff awards go to - Tayra at the sports bar, Norbrelis at Trattoria, Madeline at the small pool bar. The beautiful ladies Marti and another beautiful lady (unfortunately I cannot remember her name)at the coffee train ( excellent mocha’s and cappuccino’s) Also, the lovely maralis who makes the fresh pasta in the main buffet at dinner time.will miss them all lots!!
