Stayed with my boyfriend for a week in March. Spent a lot of time at the pool bar - bring your own big cups or you'll be drinking 150ml at a time. Food was good, except the buffet which was super average but when aren't they - but i recommend paying the extra to go to the premium restaurants one night. Service is amazing and the food is worth the extra £20. Even managed to have a Southern Comfort at the premium bar which they didn't have at the regular bar before we got asked to return to the poor person part of the hotel (premium guests get to use premium restaurants every day for free)Staff DEFINITELY favour guests that have visited before and some can even be rude if they don't know you. Can be waiting at the bar for a while and if a regular they know comes up it's all handshakes and immediate service as you're bumped to the back of the queue. Bit annoying as it wasn't cheap but I suppose that's how a lot of resorts work?Rooms were nice, beach & pool were great and our rep offered trips to the neighbouring cities/islands but next time I'd stay somewhere nearer other stuff
Just returned from this hotel , very impressed property was clean majority of staff were polite and happy. Room was cleaned every day and was comfortable. There was a coffee machine in our room with tea and coffee and we went to the store on site to get milk .The fridge had a bottle of water ,2 beers and 2 cans of coke which was replaced as you consumed. The choice of food was excellent and the romantico,Italian and seafood restaurants were absolutely brilliant. There was entertainment every night but wasn't always in the location advertised. There is a bank on site to change money and a cigar shop. We traveled with Thomas Cook and there rep was useful. We booked a number of trips and diving excursions the best by far was the 4x4 experience. Will go back next year and try the premium rooms
Visited this hotel for our honeymoon from 8th May for two weeks. It is an amazing hotel with an absolutely stunning pool that has a swim up bar and very friendly bar staff. The pool is cleaned to a high standard and the water isnt too deep either. We never struggled to get a sunbed! We didnt have to get up really early and go down with towels to secure them we could turn up at any point in the day and get them right in front of the pool no problem at all!The beach is everything you imagine a Cuban beach to look like with white sand and crystal clear water. On the beach the non motor water sports are included in your all inclusive package which is a nice extra. Lots of sunbeds here too however if you wanted a brolly at the beach you had to get up early. The food is never ending! Breakfast was a personal fave of ours but there are plenty of options for you to get multiple meals throughout the day. We chose to go to the buffet restaurant nearly every night for our evening meal as there was alot to choose from. We cannot comment on the A La Carte as we didnt use them. My only complaint about the restaurants was at dinner time there is a Mojito Bar which turns into a chicken restaurant. The chicken is amazing and we enjoyed going there for our dinner. The restaurant gets full pretty quickly as its only tiny but one day after turning up a server came up to me and told me they had stopped serving food. I said that was fine i didnt mind we would just have a drink. Another family then came in sat down tipped her and got chicken for their dinner. The same happened when 5 minutes later another couple came in tipped her and got chicken. When she realised that i was watching she came over and asked if i wanted my dinner. I tip based on the good service i receive and most of the staff here go above and beyond to make sure you are looked after. The bar man in the mojito bar is amazing but there are a couple of server ladies who will only smile and serve you with speed if you tip them. If you dont you get a miserable face and slow service. It didnt ruin our holiday though!! The rooms are nice and the maids do a lovely job making sure they are clean and tidy. They do some lovely towel art and leave fresh flowers in your room sometimes which i saw them picking in the morning. The place is full of animals, frogs in the ponds crabs walking round the hotel turtles which is lovely to see. One thing to remember is if you go on any excursions make sure you take your bottle of water from the room if required. You get one per day and if you go to the bars asking for a bottle of water they dont give you them they just tell you to take the one from your room. This can be a bit of a pain if you are right the other side of the complex. We stayed in bungalow 62 which was far away enough from the main bars so it was quiet but it wasnt too far for us to walk to the pool beach and bars etc but there are buggies there which will ferry you around if needed as some of the restaurants etc are quite far away. If you like going on trips we can highly recommend the waterfalls and the Holguin Green Path experience. Ask for Noel to be your tour guide he is amazing has so much knowledge of his country and is fun and friendly. He went above and beyond to ensure our trips were amazing value for money and amazing days out. We also went on the boat trip which wasnt to my liking but it was still good! There is a bank in the hotel which will change your money but dont change all your money as soon as you get there as you dont get as good when you change it back. Only change what you need! We will return... we usually go to Egypt but visiting Cuba has really opened our eyes and won our hearts and we cant wait to go back.
I visited Cuba for the first time and it was just incredible, the hotel is amazing you seriously cannot fault it. The food and options of food available was great for a fussy eater like myself, I'm concious of healthy eating even when I'm on holiday and the healthy options were fantastic. The pools are huge and the beach is beautiful, there was always enough sun loungers at the beach but it's best to save with towels for the pool when you go for breakfast as they fill up fast. Entertainment around the pool throughout the day was fun, there was always something going on and the evening entertainment was chilled but I enjoyed it. You won't be disappointed with a stay here :)
arrived late april, prehistoric airport terminal took 2 hours to leave on coaches for hotel, not a good start.Hotel or complex as it really is was generally good, room was clean, comfortable and no problems.grounds are well kept and vast, if you have mobility problems then this place is not for you.Food was generally the same as all inclusive throughout Europe, i think desserts always look good until the gelatine effect hits your palate and they become difficult to swallow. evening entertainment was probably the worst i have encountered on a package holiday, either none or very tame.Did a few excursions out of the hotel, you have to, there are only other hotels in the area, a small market, nothing to do in close preximity.Thomas cook, green path and inside cuba were very good if a little expensive, i would recommend these.I would not return here, there are much better places in the world to visit, why people return year after year baffles me.
