Our Opinion
Please note that hotel standards in Cuba tend to be lower than in other Sun Destinations. Unless travelers are familiar with the resort or Cuban hotels, we typically recommend that travelers book a minimum 4 star resort when traveling to Cuba.

An intimate setting for those who enjoy quiet and beautiful surroundings.

Location: Hillside, 80 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from the town of Chivirico.

Everything was good but 300 steps up from the beach.

There are many reviews at this site. And all of them seems to be true.November 2-9 2016, One more observationThe weather was fine, not too hot (around 30C) and sunny enough. Two days were windy.Breakfast buffet was very good for three stars, Cuba.Lunch and dinner were à la carte only and also good.Small town of Chivirico down the hill, has no touristic value. I walked through it heading to the mountains. Views from Sierra Maestra slopes are spectacular.Coral reefs start directly from the beach. But marine life is poor to none. Waves are as low as you only can expect it in open sea. Maybe, I was lucky with this. No more than 20 guests came to the hotel, all of them were seniors. It was quiet and peaceful. No Cuban families as guests No noisy musicMy room was 108, and it is maybe the worst at the hotel, but yet fine.

Oh how I miss Los Galeones

Last year we went to a 5 star resort in Costa Rica after 19 trips to Los Galeones. Our first comment was It's not Las Galeones. Oh how I missed Dora, Ilian, Eddy, Judy, Jose at the bar, Antonio the chef, Sandra, Orlando at the beach bar, Elsa, Glynis, sorry if I missed your name but I still live you and miss you.

Great people ... Except for sleezy men

Loved the resort. We remain disgusted by the men that buy the company of women. This was endorsed by hotel staff as per those men they would arrange it. This is a small hotel other guests do not enjoy your skeeziness nor do they wish to share the amenities with you or your rented fbuddy.. Stay home. PS if you have to extort someone in a third world country to touch you your not a real man.. You are just sad and gross. Get rid of the sex trade here please. Other nice guests will visit.

Amazing views!!

This is a small resort (32 rooms) on top of a hill. There is nothing else on the hill but the resort/ 297 steps to the beach and the hill down to the small very quaint and friendly town. Half way down the stairs there is a trail you can take to get you to the bottom of the hill. View the ocean and a few houses with their farm animals. The staff were truly amazing. All very attentive. Grounds clean. May not be the newest place but very well kept. All the rooms have some sort of water view. The ocean or bay can be seen from your balcony. The views here were the most amazing I have seen in Cuba having been around 20 times now to different locations. The beach is not that long white powdery sandy beach (if that's what your looking for) but very nice. Viewed fish and even eel not far from the shore. Every night there was some sort of musical band playing. The food was fine. There is a restaurant at the bottom of the hill that was great.I got out and explored the area. Truly enjoyed my stay here and would most definitely return. Great staff and beautiful surroundings. What more can you ask for?

This is the Best Resort (for most)

This is a terrific resort (for most).* The staff are extremely helpful. They were just superb.* The same can be said for the other guests. Most of the guests there were repeat guests. They were some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to meet. They will give you the lay of the land and are a great resource to help you decide what to do and what to expect throughout your stay.* The food at this resort is the best I have had in Cuba. With only 32 rooms every meal was easier and more efficient for them to prepare the meals a la Carte versus buffet style. I was there for six nights and EVERY meal was excellent.* The grounds are very well maintained. The steps to the beach need some work but this is Cuba. The steps are pretty easy to go down... coming back up is the hard part :)* The beach is very nice and totally private. It is very it is not a great place for swimming (water shoes are a must) but there is also a silver lining.... this is a great place for amateur snorkelers (like me) who can see pretty good coral with a nice mix of fish without venturing to any great depth or distance.... but don't go out too far because there is a huge drop off and if you are not a strong swimmer the current can get you.* An amazing feature of this resort is its proximity to a genuine Cuban town, Chivirico. A quiet little place where you can walk and explore without being hassled. The locals will say hola or just leave you alone. There are also some stores where you can pick up necessities etc...and even a few places to eat but like I said ... why would you the hotel food service is great.* The rooms ... who cares... I didn't spend too much time in them... there are comfortable beds, hot showers and balconies with great views. So "Suck It Up Princess" you are in Cuba.*** All this being said ... I wont be returning... It is just a little too laid back for me. One gentleman who has been there dozens of times summed it up perfectly...This resort is a great place for the Newlywed and the Nearly Dead....Try this place out you will not regret it.
