A pleasant stay within the Varadero strip. Most of the resorts in Cuba are not very notable for their food. Unfortunately, it rings true for this resort, as there are limited choices with regards to food options, even at the buffet. However, if you're looking for a place that is situated near a beautiful beach with plenty of outdoor day excursion, this is the resort to visit. There are plenty of activities offered both within and outside of the resort grounds that would keep any traveler occupied. OK nightly entertainment. This is a resort that is suited for older travelers and couples, who are looking for a quiet place to relax in Varadero.
Location: On the beach, 20 minutes drive from downtown Varadero, 35 minutes from the airport, and 10 minutes from Las Americas Shopping Centre.
This was my 5th time and my boyfriend's 1st time travelling to this beautiful country. Be live Turquesa is the perfect resort if you prefer a smaller crowd and admire the charm of colorful Cuban design rather than the newer modern contemporary condo hotels. We checked into a ground floor room close to the lobby and had no issues with plumbing, the A/C or room service. The only negative thing that happened was someone stealing one of our towels while it was hanging to dry.(Club house closes at 5PM) We assumed it was another guest who misplaced their own. Unfortunately had to pay 15CUC. Hotel management was sympathetic and did the best they could to retrieve it but in the end it is the guests' responsibility. Lesson learned. The employees and service were top notch. We found a very genuine nature about most of them and the ones hustling on the side were able to give us discounted prices on excursions. The food was excellent! Found myself indulging in stuff I don't normally enjoy.(ex. Papaya, bread, cheese, different types of fish) The only negative was the Mexican a la carte. We were less than impressed and ended up dining at the buffet-as it had more options and better quality. The drinks were great, but make sure to enjoy the Mojito bar earlier in the day as they seemed to run out of peppermint leaves and gin by evening time. The beach was the bomb! Didn't have to scramble for chairs or shade like other resorts. There's activities to participate in throughout the day and entertainment after dinner time. Cuban night was my favorite! In the end, we would definitely consider visiting Turquesa again one day!
Stayed at Be Live Turquesa for a week Jan 7 to 14,2018 . Hotel as I understand has been renovated recently. However the room we were staying in was not. Although everything worked as it should, with the exception of the patio doors which did not lock. Other areas seem to have been nicely renovated. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Food is plentiful and the choices varied , we did not go hungry . Waiters and waitresses were very attentive especially Yancarlos and Alberto who looked after us every night . They were always nearby and ready to assist us .The beach is clean with plenty of chairs and umbrellas for those seeking shade. The only negative was that mint was hard to come by for the mojitos and some of the bars ran out of wine or certain mixes by early evening. However beer , rum always available.
Went on Dec 28 2017 for a week older resort but very clean and we'll cared for ...been to cuba before ..by far the best food...clean beach smaller resort so not much waiting in lines for drinks or food...plus alot of room on beach ...or pool...bad would be lack of customer service or concern for issues ALL at front desk and mojito bar which dont open til 10am .....back party bar was best... great service...went out of their way to give us great service..especially YAIDEL...THE BARTENDER .. his service overshadowed the poor service from the others ...they should spend a day with him and learn how to treat guests..I would go back again
This was my second trip to Turquesa and it won't be my last. It was as wonderful as before. Last time, I went with family but this time, I was solo. No problem. It remains a warm, welcoming place. It is a cottagy resort, small and efficient. Everything you need can be seen from the beautiful front lobby. Little roads of two-floor pastel buildings lead to a central promenade of palms, which ends at the pool, the pool bar, the main restaurant and, over a little blue bridge, the white sand Varadero beach. Everything is clean, and well-maintained. Access to wifi has improved and now there are hubs at the pool and the lobby to connect to the internet with your smart phones. The rooms are spacious and clean and the air conditioning works almost too well. I loved the balcony of my room. I also liked how close it was to the lobby bar where they make amazing cubanitos and will fill your water bottles with pina coladas or sangria. The staff work very hard to make your stay memorable. The food isn[t something to rave about but there is always lots and the special restaurants are always an option.( Just be at the Clubhouse at 10 am to book.) For New Year's Eve, the resort pulled out all the stops. Only negative on the whole trip, the 25 minute wait to check in. Only one overworked woman was on the front desk doing her best to be polite and friendly and efficient, while doing the paperwork without a computer.Special shout outs to Lily, who makes sure your room is clean, to Idrianellis, a server in the buffet restaurant, who goes out of her way to remember your name and save you that special table on the patio, to Marcel, the master of the pasta bar, and to Yaidel at the pool bar who makes the perfect cafe con leche. I will go back.
Turquesa is a small, very well maintained resort. The staff were amazing and the beach was stunning. There was always something to eat at the buffet and the a la carts were okay. We were there for Christmas and the resort was beautifully decorated and the Christmas gala dinner was incredible!!The rooms were large and spacious but the toilets gave us a hard time and never wanted to flush- causing some embarrassing moments. No toilet seats in the public bathroom by the buffet was an inconvenience for everyone especially with children. The showers some times had good water pressure. But what was “ educational “ was that the shower windows are frosted glass. In the evenings when showering others walking by get quiet the silhouette show. Awkward!! The bartenders were friendly but reluctant to carry or find red wine. I do not drink hard alcohol, I enjoy wine. It is only served at meal times. It would be nice for them to carry it at the bars. It’s nice to chill after dinner and then watch the shows with a glass of vino. The circus show was incredible and not to be missed. The Cuba night was a disappointment. I felt like I was in a strip club. With so much history in Cuba, and such talented dancers you missed the chance to tell us your story. The highlight of our trip was taking a taxi to Havana. Much more cost effective and convenient. Our driver spoke great English and taught us so much. His car was a beautiful 1954 red Chevrolet and it was an amazing day!!! His name was Yodanis and his company is turismoporcuba.
