Be Live Experience Varadero

Some tour operators may rate this hotel 4 stars, which it is not. If your budget permits, we would suggest picking a better resort. Be Live Experience Varadero is an older property with some refurbishments. The beach here is excellent, like most of Varadero, and the location is close to town which some people like. Only recommended if the price is right and for travelers who don't mind basic accommodations and facilities.
Travelers return year after year to this hotel, located close to the heart of the action of Varadero. Activities abound for all ages, including water sports, dance lessons and Spanish lessons. Or surrender to the Latin rhythms pulsating in the on-site disco and dance the night away.
Location: Beachfront, 30 minutes from Juan Gualberto Gomez International Airport, 10 minutes to downtown Varadero.
Nice resort when you are 100% focused to relax. Accommodations are standard to furfill your vacation needs. When you book a all-inclusive vacation, in my point of view, you sure get what you have expected. The people, in general, are always helpful with a smile on their faces. The food is regular with a lots of variety. The Bar around the swimming-pool was my favorit place thanks to Joanca and Santiago, the two steady people behind the bar. When you speak Spanish, you get to enjoy much more of your stay.
Well wasn't sure what to expect when I first arrived the entrance needs tlc but once past it wasn't bad there was lots of nice things about the resort and lots of work being done some of the the staff were not very friendly witch shocked me seeing how this wasn't my first time to Cuba the food wasn't the greatest and drinks were to strong and never what you wanted the entrainment wasn't the best and need people trying to get u in the mood threw the day it's the same thing they need to change it up the pool area was nice but it also needs to be worked on its not Strom damage it's just a old resort in need of care in time it will be a nice spot to go I did love the beach and the fact u could always get a chair with no hassle but mostly go for the beach and pool and sun anyway and a good time was had but won't rush back to this resort
We had a lovely 3 days in havana prior to transferring to the Be wise in Varadero. The moment we arrived at reception we realised it was a mistake. Staff were indifferent to our arrival and allowed other more forceful guests to push in ahead. The first appearance of the hotel was dark and looking dated. After a long wait whilst staff did their paperwork we were pointed to the general direction of our room and meandered through various corridors to find it. The room was damp with patches on the wall and a pool of water under the air conditioner. There was no offer of a move because there was a hurricane on the way. Attitude of staff was at best going through the motions and at worse ignoring guests. When the hurricane hit there didn't seem to be any concern regarding their guests. There was no contact unless you went looking for information. We can't blame staff for the hurricane[Irma] but things were poor before it.Food was bland and I ate mostly hot dogs at the pool. The beach was good but this was probably our worse hotel in many years of travel around the world. We were finally moved to another hotel which was 100% better in terms of brightness in both decor and attitude of staff. There was little to see in Varadero and a open top bus trip was as good as it gets. Sorry to be so pessimistic because I usually research before I go, but there are 2 Be Wise hotels at this resort and I obviously picked the worse.
Joan, Laura, and I enjoyed 7 beautiful days at this resort. The entertainment crew were top notch, keeping us busy with activities every day and a big show every night. They offered an endless selection of well prepared and presented food to meet even the most pickiest eaters. The hotel was extremely clean and well stocked. Everything in the resort is a short walking distance. The Carousel Bar and Pool Bar had the most friendly and courteous staff who gave us a chuckle everyday. The front desk were so expedient in handling any and all our requests. The maid, Betty, kept our room immaculate and also well supplied with fresh linens and towels when needed. The Oreintal ala carte restaurant served us a delicous shrimp dinner with amazing spring rolls and baked coconut custard for desert. Very impressed. This is one of the most underated hotels in Varadero. We will be back next year.
When a buddy and I booked a last minute trip here back on March, I have to admit I had some concerns. Generally, if I'm going to Cuba, I'll book a min. 4-1/2 star figuring it'll balance out to what you'd expect from a 3-1/2 star and here I'm booking into a 3-1/2.I was very pleasantly perhaps even shockingly surprised at how nice it turned out to be.Front desk staff was always pleasant and accommodating. The beach crew of Dunia, Yazniel and Ivan were amazing! I'm always amazed at how people expect gourmet food at a buffet...it's a buffet for crying out loud. The food was decent (they have a number of bbq & hot sauces etc to liven it up), plenty of selection and the fresh fruit was great! Always had a beverage within minutes of sitting down. A la Cartes were average, but again wonderful staff.Beds and the villa I stayed in was comfortable and clean. A fantastic value and looks like I'm heading back at the end of November!
