Our Opinion
This resort offers a pleasant stay for guests staying within the Varadero strip. The small-scale, boutique style of this resort is a pleasant change from the usual large resorts that you'd find along the strip. The quiet and serene pace of this hotel makes it a great destination for those wanting rest and relaxation. The food options are OK in this resort. Because it's a smaller scale restaurant, you won't ever have to wait in line. The property is well-kept and maintained regularly. There are plenty of loungers by the pool and the beach, so you won't ever have to play the towel game with any other guests. A very pleasant stay overall.
Please note that hotel standards in Cuba tend to be lower than in other Sun Destinations. Unless travelers are familiar with the resort or Cuban hotels, we typically recommend that travelers book a minimum 4 star resort when traveling to Cuba.

Overview
A cozy Mediterranean style 143-room property the Be Live Las Morlas has become a favourite with Canadians because of its wonderful combination of great service, beautiful surroundings and easy access to everything.

Location: Directly on the beach, a 5 minute drive downtown and 30 minutes from the airport.

Great staff, great food, great place to stay

This is the 4th time we have been to this resort and we love it more each time. From Nester, Pablo and the rest of security keeping us safe and welcoming us back, to Indira at the front desk who goes above and beyond to make our stay just perfect. Joel, Zenia and Jorge at the front bar making great coffee and drinks, keeping us entertained and laughing.Pedro is absolutely amazing. He is everywhere making sure that everything is running smoothly and helps out holding doors, cleaning tables, bringing drinks and making us all laugh at the same time. Truly a gem.The staff in the dining room look after everyone with a smile! The pool bar staff as well, especially Muriam. And Ernesto at the Beach bar! And Martin keeps the pool very clean! We are going back next year for sure. The staff make it worthwhile and the beach, cleanliness and food are all bonuses.

Quite old structure but nice vibe

I am not a great fan of resort in general , but this one is quite old structure , and the rooms are not the best you can expect even in terms of hygiene .Gym quite old and not very comfortable Food was decent and drink was quite nice .Easy access to the beach The best part probably is the staff service

Great hotel, super friendly staff

We loved this hotel! For what we saw elsewhere in Cuba it was simply great! Staff extremely friendly, amazing beach, we were lucky as well as it was not crowded, so could really enjoy ourselves. And they serve the best pinocalada in the world!!

Wonderful Small Resort Close to Town

A short bus ride from the airport! We are a couple in our late 50's and were looking for a week of R'n'R in the sun. That's exactly what we got. Our fourth trip to Cuba and first time to Varadero. Our expectations for the resort and food were low based on previous trips to Cuba. This resort was a pleasant surprise! Our room was spacious, clean and freshly painted with a balcony. The beach is spectacular and you can walk for miles in either direction. Crystal clear turquoise water and soft white sand. The resort is small and quiet during the day. Never a problem getting a great lounger by the pool and thankfully no-one places their towels to reserve loungers, there is no need to! We even watched a fellow diligently cleaning the loungers with javex water mid-week (very clean). We found that most patrons went to the beach. Pool water was cold due to the time of year but very well maintained and clean as is the rest of this resort. Because of the Italian influence there were always great pasta dishes at the buffet. Breakfasts are very good with daily custom omelettes available. Only one A-La-Carte restaurant (Mediterranean) a bit disappointing but there was always something good to eat at the buffet. Red and White wines were tasty. Joel at the lobby bar made the best Margarita's. The local beers are not our favourite....we are from Canada and make awesome beers!! You could purchase Heineken in the bars in town.Evening entertainment, although the dancer's are very good, was a bit loud and became annoying towards the end of our stay. Hope you don't go to bed early because the loud music at the performance stage occurs every evening from 9:00 to 11:00pm. They might want to tone this down. Also, the gym is open at 9:00am everyday and we found this late since most people like to work out and have a shower before breakfast which is served till 10:00am....might want to open the gym doors at 7:00amVaradero is a short walk along the beach or 5 minute cab ride away. Lots of markets but each booth basically sells the same items. Good restaurants and bars to visit. The BEATLES club was a treat with awesome live entertainment nightly and bands playing recognizable music from Bon Jovi, Cranberries, Micheal Jackson, Nirvana and more. The best of both worlds....quiet relaxing small resort without crowds and lots to do in town if you wish.We also met some great folks during our stay. A shout out to the couple from Britain who were also on our flight home (hope you had a great overnight stay in Toronto before heading back to London) and to the folks from Saskatoon and Ottawa that we hung around with at the lobby bar. Great conversation and companionship during our stay. We will most definately be returning.
