Our Opinion
An OK resort situated within the Varadero strip. The rooms need a bit of maintenance and upgrading. However, they are cleaned and stocked daily. The food is nothing to rave about, but the resort offers plenty of choices. The resort is notable for having incredibly exceptional staff. If you have any concerns or needs, a resort team member will always be nearby to help accommodate your requests. Really great beach location. Be advised however, that bad weather conditions often lead to beach closures. Plenty of amenities available, such as a gym facility. This is an OK resort in Varadero. However, for the price you pay, it's best to go elsewhere.
Please note that hotel standards in Cuba tend to be lower than in other Sun Destinations. Unless travelers are familiar with the resort or Cuban hotels, we typically recommend that travelers book a minimum 4 star resort when traveling to Cuba.

A long time favorite of Canadians,Β Brisas del Caribe is set along a stunning stretch of white sand beach in fabulous Varadero. Included are a great kids' program, 24-hour lobby bar and 24-hour snack bar. The rooms in the south section of the hotel are great for families, with room for two adults and two kids. Brisas del Caribe is an excellent value beach-front hotel.

Location: Beachfront, 30 minutes from Juan Gualberto Gomez International Airport, 10 minutes to downtown Varadero.

Go somewhere else!

The restaurant is awful, its smokey and the food is terrible. The pool area is nice but there are games and loud music all the time. The hotel is in need of lots of maintenance and the rooms, corridors etc are scruff. My best advice is go to the Be Live Turquesa two doors up!!!

Not great

I've been to Cuba three times and this was the worst place out of all three. The only good thing I have to say is the night entertainment was great..there were some good dance shows and a great synchronized swimming routine. Our room however was deplorable. When we arrived, both our front door and back doors were broken. There was no toilet seat on the toilet. Our safe also did not work. There were mosquitoes in our room each night. We complained to management the next day and they moved us to a SLIGHTLY better room which at least had functioning doors and a toilet seat but there were still mosquitoes and the washroom was still a dump. I would never go back to this resort. There are also a lot of people from eastern European here at this hotel (eg. ukrainians, croatians, some Russians) so good to keep in mind if you are from one of these cultures and this is what you look for. Food was also below average and I don't have high expectations for Cuba but I did see a difference in the food here and the last resort I went to which was a 4.5 star resort.

Home away from home!

We enjoyed another week at Brisas in May 2017. This hotel has many, many repeat customers and with really good reason: the staff are the heart and soul of this stunningly-located resort. Nothing is too much trouble. Special thanks go to Gisell for continuing to take enormous personal interest in her guests' comfort and well-being: the public relations team (thanks also to Cenin, Michael and Andrea) really care and this makes all the difference to our stays at Brisas. The new bar and grill on the beach is a really welcome addition, along with the new fresh fish station in the buffet. The food was varied and tasty (thanks to Freddy & his team!) We were sorry the piano bar wasn't open this time and another cafe would be welcome but all in all we were very happy with what was on offer. We will be back!

Trip #7 πŸ˜ŽπŸ‡¨πŸ‡ΊπŸΉπŸŒ΄πŸ‘ŒπŸš¬πŸ’¨πŸ’¨

Another awesome trip to the Brisas Del Caribe πŸ‘ this was our 7th stay here and it was just as good as the last ... Special thanks goes out to the Boss man Carlos Garcia and the front desk staff for extra help this time getting our arrangements ready ahead of time πŸ‘πŸ˜ ... You truly do treat us like family and that is a big reason why me and my friends keep coming back β™₯️ .. So many people here that are just arms out when I walk in the front doors each time I don't know where to start .. Alot of places back here at home could take a lesson on hospitality from the Cuban people πŸ‡¨πŸ‡ΊπŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ .. See you in the fall my friends as always 😘 ..Love always β™₯️Jeffrey Miller πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŒπŸš¬πŸ’¨πŸ’¨

this place is a dump.

Cockroaches in bedrooms. Always running out of liquor. The grounds were filthy, full of trash and really run-down looking. The a la carte restaurants were closed almost all the time but when we did manage to get into one,the meal was so disgusting and rotten tasting that I literally threw up on my plate. The buffet doesn't open until 7 pm for dinner so there is a huge line up of people waiting to be fed. The pool is so ice cold that you don't even want to swim in it and staff is rude. Don't go!
