Our Opinion
An OK resort situated within the Varadero strip. The rooms need a bit of maintenance and upgrading. However, they are cleaned and stocked daily. The food is nothing to rave about, but the resort offers plenty of choices. The resort is notable for having incredibly exceptional staff. If you have any concerns or needs, a resort team member will always be nearby to help accommodate your requests. Really great beach location. Be advised however, that bad weather conditions often lead to beach closures. Plenty of amenities available, such as a gym facility. This is an OK resort in Varadero. However, for the price you pay, it's best to go elsewhere.
Please note that hotel standards in Cuba tend to be lower than in other Sun Destinations. Unless travelers are familiar with the resort or Cuban hotels, we typically recommend that travelers book a minimum 4 star resort when traveling to Cuba.

A long time favorite of Canadians, Brisas del Caribe is set along a stunning stretch of white sand beach in fabulous Varadero. Included are a great kids' program, 24-hour lobby bar and 24-hour snack bar. The rooms in the south section of the hotel are great for families, with room for two adults and two kids. Brisas del Caribe is an excellent value beach-front hotel.

Charming people and a wonderful beach!!!

Brisas del Caribe feels like our second home!Our family of four returned to Brisas again for the fourth time to celebrate Christmas 2017 together. We have always preferred Brisas del Caribe resort more than the other ones along the Varadero shores because this beautiful resort, with fancy and romantic gardens around it, has always exceeded our expectations for the following reasons:A super welcoming atmosphere:It goes without saying that all the staff members are super friendly, ready to help and accommodate us the best way they can. We met again all our old friends at Brisas, and they were truly glad to see us back for the fourth time. In particular, Glenda, the new Public Relations Manager, made us feel so calm and relaxed during our stay. Believe it or not, Glenda represents this resort very charmingly! Glenda is not only beautiful, charismatic, very energetic with endless smiles on her face, but she also provides first-class service to every guest she meets and welcomes in her office. She definitely goes the extra mile to help us, as guests, and she impressed every one of us since the first day of our arrival. Such a pleasant and professional individual she is!!! Glenda listened to us very patiently the first day we met her, and then gave us options to maximize the fulfillment of our needs and wants at this beautiful resort. Being repeated customers, Glenda upgraded us from the two rooms we had the first day 347 and 216, to a very spacious and cosy room on the fourth floor, Room 415, where we could enjoy the best ocean view from our balcony. Martha, our room maid, was perfect. She kept our room super clean, spotless, and she was so artistic with our room towels making magical swans, sea waves and heart shaped towels she left on our beds and bathroom for us to enjoy. Every time we went up and down the stairs, ( a way to exercise for those who do not want to reach the elevator), we encountered either Glenda, or Andrea, Cenin, Makel, even the other young Glenda, who assisted Glenda, the Manager, - they all made sure that we were having a fabulous time. Andrea, so elegant and stunning young lady, would tell us that “I am very happy when you, our guests, are happy and enjoy your stay in our resort!!!" So sweet she was.The connection and the excitement we experienced while being among these very friendly and hospitable staff members was tremendous. We miss all of you, our dear Cuban friends!Beach is gorgeous!A paradise beach is found in front of Brisas del Caribe, full of sunshime! Calm, clear, turquoise sea, and an endless stretch of white, soft sand gave us the sensation of being in paradise. We could easily find plenty of comfortable chairs and big umbrellas every morning, and the staff at the beach took so much care of us and our belongings every time we went for long walks along the beach. A wooden walk board, wheelchair accessible, was just finished and it stretched from the resort grounds to the white sand where we could refresh ourselves constantly. Our children (20 and 26 years old) would get endless, colourful drinks from the drink bar right on the beach; We enjoyed so much the beautiful view of this gorgeous beach full of water bicycles, kayaks and catamarans sailing in the blue waters in front of us. These water sports are free of charge for all the guests, we just needed to go ask for them. In fact, my family used the water sports every day, whereas for me, I preferred to swim in the calm, warm sea. The newly built snack bar was only steps away from the sand, and they had excellent 24/7 service for everyone who was lazy enough to take a few extra steps to reach the buffet restaurant in less than two minutes. Food is delicious!Our family have always enjoyed the food at Brisas: fresh, organic vegetables with all kinds/sorts of veggie salads, with any choice of fish, beef, pork or chicken, seafood salads - all freshly made, or we could wait only two minutes to get it directly from the grill. How delicious their exotic, freshly-cut fruits are! They had the best papaya, juicy and sweet pineapple among many other fruits: melon, watermelon, grapes, oranges, grapefruit, even green and red apples! First-class service we got particularly on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, very special, spectacular Christmas dinners. So well-organized and the food was so magically displayed!!! The staff members offered special reservations, in the two parts of the resort: North buffet dinner and South buffet dinner for Christmas. All the waiters/waitresses (Margarita, Julio, Sandy and Lianet were super dressed up, with fancy masks and superior service, and all the management staff were at their highest level of service, too! Glenda, the PR Manager, looked stunning on Christmas Eve, so classy dressed, in her apricot-pink colored dress, high-heeled shoes making sure that everything was perfectly organized and all the guests were highly respected and super served. After dinners, we always stopped either at the drink bar or coffee bar to chat with our friends, the bar tenders who amazingly remembered the order and the choices of our drinks and coffee selections. Migel, Alberto at the coffee bar would pleasantly sit down with us for a few minutes to ask how our day went so far, and surprisingly would read our minds and memorized that my husband and I liked to have cappuccino, and our son and daughter just a short espresso. Boris, Gisell, at the lobby bar, Omar and Mabel at the pool bar, and all other bar tenders worked tirelessly, with smiles on their faces they served patiently every guest. We have recommended Brisas del Caribe to many friends of ours for the superior service provided there, and my husband and I will return on February 21, 2018 for another fun week at Brisas del Caribe to escape from the harsh winter in Toronto this year.

Over all ok keeping in mind its Cuba

Over all it is a ok property and at the right price point I would returnCheck in is slow, but its all done my hand no computers so my hats off to the staff for there old school methods. They rooms are dated and need a good over haul but sufficient to meet our sleeping need ( no hot water for 3 days) The food, well its Cuba you will not go hungry but there is no real flavor. Unless your eating lunch at the outside BBQ the fish and pork where always excellentI do have one very major concern, someone had removed the pep hole in our door and we caught a man looking threw it when my daughter was in the room. He ran off and I notified the front desk. I asked for a new room as my daughter felt uncomfortable remaining there and they where not able to move us to another 3 bed room. VERY VERY poor service in that regard

Brisas del Caribe has exceeded our expectations!

We want to thank you again for your help and great customer service we have received in last December at your resort. Our room was great and the room service also. Your all over customer service is superior in general to that offered in most the resorts we have visited so far. The food at the buffet has improved from 2016 to 2017. The team show offer an excellent performance also.Hope to see you soon!

I have been fortunate enough to visit this resort five times. When I visit this hotel, I am visiting family. Over several years of coming, my mother, sister and I have made special connections with the staff. Here, you are treated with the utmost respect and unconditional love. The Brisas adds an intimate, personal touch in so many ways .I have always enjoyed the food - it's both fresh and offered in unique ways. There is variance at the buffet and the a la cartes are phenomenal. Can never go wrong with the drinks either - beer, wine, cappuccinos or even the signature Brisas cocktail.The resort is spacious yet cozy. The rooms are clean and well equipped with pillows, blankets , AC, televisions, a safe. The staff always ensures the rooms are tidy and appropriate for the guests. They are beyond helpful.Brisas is also located in a prime location . A one minute walk from a gorgeous beach and a quick bus ride to Varadero. I am always blown away by the entertainment and activities . Never a dull moment with the "animacion"! Having experienced several holidays in Cuba, (Christmas, New Years, Easter) I know the event staff works tirelessly to make the shows special. The talent is consistently incredible - my favourite is the magic shows!When I sit outside at the pool or the beach I can't help but smile. The Brisas welcomes EVERYONE. This place is magical. No matter the race, culture, or language spoken, we become a family. We sing , dance and laugh all as one. I love meeting new people and cannot help but admire how this place brings everyone together . The staff are genuine and sincere and give everything to ensure your time is unforgettable - I love everyone from the gardeners , bartenders, pool attendants, front desk ladies, chefs, maids and servers. I am beyond lucky I've stayed at Brisas. I highly recommend this hotel for an authentic Cuba experience. BRISAS FOREVER💕

It keeps getting better and better!

I visited Brisas del Caribe the second week of December 2017. This is the first time I visited the resort by myself. I wanted some down time and this was the perfect place for that. As soon as I entered the hotel, the reception staff welcomed me. They got me registered and the bell boy showed me to my beautiful suite. The hotel lobby was decorated for Christmas but with the sun shining and the warm breeze it felt nothing like Christmas. The stress of the upcoming holidays disappeared. The pool was very well kept. I saw the pool guy testing the water everyday. He was so pleasant to talk to. I’m sorry I forgot his name.Mily was the maid assigned to my room. Everyday my room was perfectly clean. She kept my room in pristine condition and even arranged my shoes. She’s very honest too, I left the safe wide open one day and my wallet on the desk another and not a cent was missing. She is a hard worker and very honest. Thank you Mily. Her towel art was so beautiful. Mayelin is the go to person if you want to get a massage. I couldn’t wait to book a massage with her. It was so good I booked two! Mayelin is very knowledgeable and professional. I was able to tell her where my pain was and she was able to work on relieving the pain. She made me feel fantastic. Her hands work wonders. Mayelin’s massage room was very clean and it was very peaceful with the music and incense. If you want a massage please ask for Mayelin (pronounced My jay leen) you will not be disappointed. Yisel the manager at the buffet was a pleasure to speak with. You could tell she takes pride in the buffet and makes sure her staff are doing their job. The food was fresh and there was lots of variety. There was something for the pickiest eater. Jorge who makes omelettes is my favourite. He truly makes my morning everyday! Plus his eggs anyway you like them are fantastic. Jose Ivan made sure I enjoyed my meals at the buffet.Ellie the lifeguard at the beach has a great personality and I like how he takes his job seriously. Thanks to Glenda for an amazing delicious return guest dinner. You out did yourself as did the chef and wait staff. Thank you!Saving the best for the last...the Anamation Team. WOW!Two new staff Darian and Alexi were a pleasure to meet. I loved their dart games and Spanish lessons. Darian, Bon Bon and Alexi really tried hard to keep guests involved and having fun. They were enthusiastic and I could tell they love their job. Margarita is so good with the little kids. She had a magic show in the club house that the kids loved. She always makes sure the kids are having fun. She’s perfect for her job. Bebe is the biggest asset of Brisas del Caribe. Her love of her job is clear. She leads by example, and her staff like her, are there to make your stay at Brisas your best time ever. Her infectious smile made everyone smile. She is a phenomenal dancer and her dance lessons can teach anyone. She is very patient and will take the time to show you a move even more than once. I like hearing her on the microphone announcing the activities. Ugo is a newer anamation team member and he also tried to get people involved in the activities. Yosvany played great music and he was such a nice guy. He’s a great DJ. The professionalism of the animation team is evident as is their true desire to ensure your enjoy your stay at Brisas. This was my best trip yet to Brisas del Caribe. The staff made it that way for me. Yes it’s a three star hotel that’s true but let me tell you the way the staff made me feel was 5 star all the way.Visit, you will not be disappointed.
