Our Opinion
An OK resort situated within the Varadero strip. The rooms need a bit of maintenance and upgrading. However, they are cleaned and stocked daily. The food is nothing to rave about, but the resort offers plenty of choices. The resort is notable for having incredibly exceptional staff. If you have any concerns or needs, a resort team member will always be nearby to help accommodate your requests. Really great beach location. Be advised however, that bad weather conditions often lead to beach closures. Plenty of amenities available, such as a gym facility. This is an OK resort in Varadero. However, for the price you pay, it's best to go elsewhere.
Please note that hotel standards in Cuba tend to be lower than in other Sun Destinations. Unless travelers are familiar with the resort or Cuban hotels, we typically recommend that travelers book a minimum 4 star resort when traveling to Cuba.

A long time favorite of Canadians, Brisas del Caribe is set along a stunning stretch of white sand beach in fabulous Varadero. Included are a great kids' program, 24-hour lobby bar and 24-hour snack bar. The rooms in the south section of the hotel are great for families, with room for two adults and two kids. Brisas del Caribe is an excellent value beach-front hotel.

Location: Beachfront, 30 minutes from Juan Gualberto Gomez International Airport, 10 minutes to downtown Varadero.

Don't recommend. Rooms are dirty and smelly. Bathroom was disgusting, active mould growth throughout.

I chose this resort based on reviews I read on TripAdvisor.( Stated rooms were dated but clean, staff and food quite good). I just got back Dec 8th after 6 days but wanted to return within an hour of arriving. After we saw the room we went to front desk asking for a different room. They told us we would have to move all luggage first. We refused, thankfully, as the room they sent us to was even worse, including a broken toilet. We said absolutely not to the worse room, they then said they were doing us a favour by letting us check in early, therefore we would have to wait until the following afternoon. We paid for an upgraded room when booking and ended up in the basement. Most of the staff was very cold and rude in every area of the resort .They saw you sitting or standing waiting and would completely ignore you. When they did acknowledge you, it was as if we were interrupting them. If you want a clean and fresh towel for the beach or pool - good luck! They don't have enough and when you do get one they are not clean. The last one I received had either bird doodoo or human doodoo folded into it. YUK! Food is boring and stopped eating salad stuff since I found a ,moving, very much alive snail in my lettuce!!! Pool filthy dirty and several guests received cuts on their feet in the pool. No swim up bar at pool. No walk down steps at pool just those metal ladders. Freezing cold too.Beach clean, clean. No bar or snacks on beach. They advertise 24 hour bar and food however both of those are located across a road/bridge and were not always open or had run out of food. Resort was rated 3+.

First time... much better than expected!

Solo trip to Cuba during the mourning period ( no music or entertainment) and it was surprisingly great! The hotel is not new or up to date compared to Canadian standards. However, if you are looking for a great beach, great staff and comfortable rooms at an affordable price. I had a room on the third floor in the north building. The room was clean and comfortable and everything was in working order. Ruth did a great job cleaning my room while the regular cleaner was away. The pool area and beach were both great. I only ate at the buffet and Yasiel provided excellent service every evening on the patio. I preferred the food from the grill, pasta bar and the fruit bar. Omelette bar was the best bet In the morning. All the staff at the lobby bar, pool bar and the 24 hour snack bar ( Javier and Giego) were awesome and will quickly remember your drinks. Go with an open mind and you will enjoy. I met many guests at the hotel that return year after year to Brises.

Good hotel fair price :)

My boyfriend and I visited the Brisas in November 2015. We had a great time. I had the best daiquiri made by the amazing Omar ! The food was fine for us. We always found something we liked. The beach was gorgeous ! The room could use some renovations, beds were a bit uncomfortable but nothing we couldn't manage. We were in the south buildings on second floor. We are planning to return next year with our children :) The staff is so friendly, makes all the difference ! I miss Omar <3

VERY bad! MUY mal!

I am going to just give the facts, without giving my personal opinion, so people can evaluate it by them self:- i was allocated in a room with a horrible smell, my wife went to talk to the girls at the reception and she was told there is not any other room, i came to speak to them and after arguing with the receptionist i got another room.- while i was complaining in the reception, there was minimum another 4 different people also with problems in their rooms.- the room i was allocated it was full of insects, mainly ants, as it is shown in the picture- the mattress was completely broken and i even hurt my self with the metal from the mattress, as you can see in the picture (first time in my life i see something in those conditions)- the AC was very high, and there is not a way to switch it off, i informed the reception and they told me if i will be cold i just have to call them and they will switch it off, so thats the first thing i did at 10pm when i got in the room, at 10:45pm i called again because no one came to the room and i wanted to sleep, they told me that the guy is trying to find a remote controller to come and switch it off, at 11:30pm i call again and they tell me sorry but they are still trying, so i tell them to dont send anyone to my room anymore because i am going to sleep and i will just switch off all the electricity from the control panel, i went to sleep and at 12:15am.... Of course someone come and knock the door to "try to fix" my AC, he comes in and try a remote controller (from a different AC unit) obviously it is not working and i ask him to leave
