First of all, the staff at this hotel is rude, without any kind of training. The rooms are horrible, with dirty and old furnishes and the housekeeper only pretends to clean your room. The food there is also bad ( I got sick after eating there) and the service in the restaurant is terrible.Do not recommend
This hotel is in a state of total disrepair. It is nothing like what is shown in the above photos. The food at the buffet was inedible and there were several street cats climbing on tables during the meal on the outside patio. There was broken playground equipment in the outdoor play areas; and several areas of the building were broken and unsafe. We managed to spend one night and had to pay several hundred dollars to be moved to another resort nearby. Hugely disappointing.
nice checkin, room was in a new part of the hotel across the street, room was really good, security always at the entrance. at the quiet time of year, always had food except not many choices, in the center of town, so if you don't like the food just walk had three people eat supper, chicken rice plate two pizzas and three beer 10 pesos. about 12 dollars. beach had lots of places to sit and drink free but 6 minute walk.
it was nice to have a pool. however, the rooms were very basic, but it had quite a few places to eat and drink close by. we only stayed here for one or two nights. was clean enough, but very very basic really.
We spent in Mar del Sur, Varadero 5 nights. We knew that this possibility of accommodation was one of the cheapest in this location, even though we gave it a chance. The room was moldy, the worst part was the AC which was the moldiest place of our room, we couldn't turn it on then. The bathroom was moldy too. All the bars were supposed to offer many types of cocktails, but we always got Cuba Libre only, because there was only coke and rum. The beach was about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The worst part were other guests. This hotel is well-known by Cubans. There was always lack of clean cups, glasses, cutlery etc. On the other hand the food was good, but you had to wait for it, even one hour, because the canteen was too small for so many people. To sum up, I will not recommend this hotel to European tourists, who want to have nice holiday in Varadero. Anyway this hotel is suitable for backpacking tourists, who don't want to spend so much money on living.
