We came here on a JetBlue getaway package and because the resort had a sand dollar promotion, we were able to upgrade our room to an oceanfront. The room was nice with beautiful views. The promotion also provided a $50 a day food a drink credit which kept the final cost down. The beach was beautiful with tiki umbrellas and lounge chairs. There are 4 restaurants on site as well as a deli/general store. The food was average which is why I give this resort 4 stars. Take advantage of the great restaurants in town and on the island. Didn't use the casino but it appeared nice. The pool is large and offers a swim up bar. Happy hour prices at both the pool and beach bars. There is a dive shop and boat at the resort or you can rent snorkel gear and snorkel right off the beach. Shuttles are provided into town, however we rented a car to explore the different beaches. May was a nice time of year to travel as the resort was not too crowded. Overall a very nice experience!
Great hotel with many amenities that would allow you to stay onsite the entire stay. Although, I would highly recommend traveling the island. Upon arrival one of the bellhops quickly offered us a beer on the house, and took care of getting our room keys and someone to assist us to our room. It was fairly. Yay, but very short time to get to the room. The lobby and pool areas are beautiful. The hotel is a bit dated as other travelers have pointed out, but honestly the rooms were cleaned everyday, towels refreshed, and the room staff were very friendly and accommodating. Everything worked fine in the room. We did not spend a significant amount of time in our hotel. Room staff cleaned all our sand tracked in from the beach daily. The beachfront room was spectacular. We're had a view over the beach. The beach bar was conveniently located. You can walk the beach to the Hilton resort. I was glad to be at the Marriott. I did not use the pool much, so I can't comment on that. Seemed like a lot of kids playing in the pool. I would say I was not impressed with some of the locals behavior as they walled to the Marriott beach from the local public beach. This only occurred once, but it was not a pleasant experience. They were loud and rowdy. The restaurant upstairs had good food and was reasonably priced. The buffet dinner at the main restaurant was a bit pricey at $40 per person but it included entertainment. Overall, we had a great experience at the hotel and would recommend it to others.
I was in love with breakfast in this resort. Beatiful beach, sand had gold color and water was refreshing and had nice blue color. Resort had nice restaurants and casino. Gardens around a hotel was green and beautiful very relaxing place
We visited the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino on our visit to Curacao and spent some time in their casino. The casino had black Jack and Roulette tables but I did not see ant Craps tables. Gaming machines ranged from penny slots on up so there is a wide choice for gaming.
My husband and I went in August 2016. The lobby view is stunning with Dutch colonial architecture. We opted to upgrade to a first floor beach front room. Rooms could use some freshening but, the on-the-beach room location was by far worth every nickel! Room 140, right next to the pool and beach. Room was nicely insulated and we heard no noise. You have a small semi private patio with hedge between you and the beach 10 feet away. The beach was fab, snorkeling was great. The beach is surrounded by a stone breakwater effectively making it almost a lagoon for lap swimming as well. Take water shoes for walking into the sea. The bottom can be a bit rocky. The deepest part of the lagoon is probably 6 feet deep. The beach sand is perfect with chaises and grass huts for shade. The pool and beach are within a few steps of one another with outdoor fresh water rinse off shower so you can go back and forth from beach to pool with ease. There is a cool swim up bar attached to a regular outdoor bar which keeps the drinks flowing. A dive shop and boat is on the beach as well. Get your open water scuba certificate if you've done the preliminary schooling. Snorkel and wetsuits available also. We took our own masks and fins and water shoes to avoid extra charges.Breakfast buffet was excellent (at an added charge). We went out for breakfast at Douwe Egberts at the Riffort. Also excellent and much cheaper! The hotel restaurant, Portofino, is very good. There are plenty of excellent dinner choices at Riffort or downtown. You will need to drive or taxi to these places.Get the room on the beach, you won't be sorry!
