Kura Hulanda Lodge & Beach Club

Food was tterrible except for breakfast. The staff friendly but no snacks were available during the day and only a small buffet. The view was pretty and the pool lovely. Our room was gorgeous and had a kitchenette but there was nowhere to buy anything. Would be more prepared if I went back.
Currently in kura hulanda in Westpunt for the week 8/26 , I can't complain about the accommodation; it's clean, decent and the view of the ocean is breathtaking. I traveled here as part of an all inclusive jetblue vacation package. The unfortunate events took place right as I arrived at the hotel. We didn't get our welcome cocktail because we were told the bar was busy and if we want to we can get it at the bar. Not a big deal, but what was upsetting is that we found the bar tender sitting down and not busy as we were told. Furthermore, we arrived around 4:30 pm which was around snack time, but they didn't have anything other than what they called a meatball which didn't taste anything like meat and was surprisingly the only snack that they served. Breakfast is 7 to 11am but if you come after 8:30 don't expect to find much and don't you dare ask for anything because you will get nothing but an attitude. I do not recommend going to this hotel because of their horrible service.
We stayed at this resort for one week. We checked into an Oceanfront room which was nice and provided privacy and a spectacular view. Staff was helpful for the most part--real standout was the Watamalu restaurant manager who made my son a hamburger and fries for his birthday! My son is a picky eater and did not enjoy any of the food offered for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We told the manager about the situation and he offered to have a burger and fries made just for him to help make his birthday special. The main complaints: 1) there is only WIFI near the reception desk; not in any of the rooms; 2) There is only 1 restaurant included in the lodge which provided all inclusive food (Watamalu Restaurant) despite the website and claims there are 3 restaurants on site which provide all inclusive menu; 3) The resort claimed in writing that snorkeling was included but when we arrived we were told to speak to Go West Diving next door which reneged and said they would only provide snorkel for 1/2 hour and only with our credit card. The Go West proprietor was not nice and rude. 4) Recommend renting a car since this resort is very far from airport (~ 45 kilometers) and Willemstead where you would want to go sight-seeing.
August 2017- Just returned from the KH Lodge in Westpunt, Curacao. 14 nights in an ocean front suite, we have been going there for several years. The hotel has dramatically improved over time. Some ups and downs but overall a great experience. The Lodge is situated on an absolutely beautiful cliff overlooking a super view of the bay. The grounds are well taken care and the pool is clean and clear. A lot of families and children are beginning to populate the property. The buffet breakfast is simple but good. Eggs, bacon, sausage, cantaloupe, pineapple, toast, juices, cereal and a panini maker. Everything was fresh and hot. Didn't have lunch or dinner there but the other guests said it was very good. We go there primarily for the scuba diving which is tremendous at the west end of the island. There are a dozen beaches close to the Hotel where you can scuba dive from shore out to a fabulous reef. No current to speak of and a short swim to the drop off point for most of the reefs or you can just snorkel at the beaches and see colorful fish in crystal clear water.
Returning after some years the service is non existing. We waited to be served for lunch, no one paid attention. Bathrooms are old and dirty, birds are fouling from the roof. Sad to see such a pretty place go down.
