This place is remote, very quiet and relaxing and the snorkelling is great. There are many things that need to be repaired in this resort starting with the door locks of the rooms. Ours did not work when we arrived and we had to wait a few hours to get room but I don't complain because they upgraded us in an ocean front room. The room was very nice, large including the balcony. It was quite clean and the AC worked well. There was a safe, kitchenette, etc... Loved it.Based on the reviews, I was afraid of the food. However, even if the buffet is limited and basic, we always found something good to eat. Actually, the fresh mahi-mahi was delicious. At times, the dining room was empty and other times, people could not get a seat. The All inclusive is not clearly explained especially for the drinks (despite what is said on a paper that we received on arrival). Note that it is permitted to smoke in the restaurant which was very disturbing. The beach is very small and can be crowded when people outside the resort are coming. Not enough chairs and umbrella. Bring beach shoes as there is a lot of broken coral. Water is blue and clear and snorkelling is great.I found the ladies at the reception and most of the people at the restaurant very nice. However, that's a very different story at the beach bar. There are some grumpy people there that don't like to serve you (maybe it is because we were AI maybe?). It is like we were disturbing them.If you are looking for a relaxing place with amazing ocean views, this is the place.
On the northwest of the island near Sabana Westpunt and national parks this was our lunch stop on a Peter Trips six-hour van tour of Curacao. This condominium resort is remote. You need a car to get anywhere except down the rock steps to the beach. On an open-air terrace overlooking the water far below, their buffet lunch was $20 per person for the smallest selection of edibles I have ever encountered. No thanks! Do not know how much the tour operator receives for bringing his ‘guests’ here for lunch. I took a granola bar and bottle of water out of my pack and walked around the grounds which are nicely landscaped with local plants and artwork. Also on the positive side, the washrooms off the lobby are clean
Arrived from a very long trip to get here, started at 5am, after arriving we are taken to our room it was disgusting not cleaned at all so back to the front desk....to wait even longer after travelling over 12 hours...no food to be found on the resort had to wait for supper, it was so cold...finally after 2 hours our room is finally ready or we thought, it's put together but some towels are still dirty think they must have just folded them up again...deide to check out the bar big mistake drinks no nice tropical ones rum and coke yuck!!! Decide to just go to bed...nope come into find a huge bug on the curtains then as we are killing that one...a huge mouse runs across the deck guess we are not enjoying the deck tonight....chalk it up go to bed planning on start tomorrow on better note well that was a joke...breakfast the dirty dishes are all over tables and of course that brings the birds flying in while we are trying to eat...gross....go to the bar hoping to fill our cups with ice water to take to the beach nope no worker......come for dinner, no spot to sit ask if we could take out food to the other area...lady goes yah go ahead well only spot we could find was a dark corner not a great way to eat, only thing to drink water cause no one is at the bar, go to get towels in the afternoon oops no towels left...young lady at the desk oh sorry so now how do we dry off while we go swimming guess it's our problem....find the staff isn't helpful at all not impressed at all and we still have 6 more nights so not impressed....think it's going to be a very long week if only I could find another resort 😖 The rooms need a major cleaning it would be nice too for the little touches towel art...clean towels no bugs yes we found another one running across the bathroom floor... pro- snorkelling greatCon- beach has a lot of coral Pro- views are gorgeous Con- dirty, not upkept at all sad cause this could be a gorgeous resort with some major fix up include cleaning and a good cleaning and paint jobHope after the week is up I can update this review to a better one but we will see if this changes have photos will add later
Be prepared for 45-60 minutes ride from airport. We felt it was worth it as the resort is so peaceful. They have the best house reef we did it 3 times. The scuba shop is 4 minutes walk from our room. Make sure you do a supermarket shop before you arrive there is nothing within a 20-25 minute drive. The all inclusive was sold out so we had to buy a buffet dinner for 30$ each no drinks included. Not our best decision since it was not that good but we did not want to drive 1 hour away. We had a great suite (202) with awesome ocean view. Helpful front desk Stella was very nice, the only issue we had was no beach towels for 2 days..! Great stay..! Road is under construction could be delayed for flight if you don't leave early. Best beaches are not to far and you avoid the Willemstad crowds. Taxi very expensive and they charge per person made sense to just rent a car it worked out ..!
One of the most amazing locations on the island. Snorkeling, diving, views were all some of the best I've ever had on Curacao. The people working there are also very sweet and helpful, they just have little training and apparently almost no investment being made in upkeep too the facility. Our trip issues in a nutshell: Drove into the lot at roughly 4:30pm (after being awake for near 20-hrs) and checked in. I did notice that almost all of the parking lot/pathway lights had a couple of the light globes broken/broken off. Waited roughly 45 minutes for our escort to take us to our room, but he had been busy. Finally talked them into letting us take ourselves (they were extremely nice about it, and personally disappointed that they couldn't free somebody up to take us). Got to our room and our door-lock would not work. Went back and forth several times for new keys and help. Finally we got in with master key, and technician came to work on the lock. Fortunately we decided not to move in yet. After several hours it was decided that our door was not going to work for a day or so, and we talked them into moving us into another room (9pm now). We checked a few things and brought our bags up. Ended up having to take cold showers because there was no hot water. Shower head also repetitively fell off the mount, so finally had to pin it against the well at chest level to use it. Also a few issues with the A/C since only one of the remotes worked (and it only did intermittently), and neither of the displays on the units did (so guessing game on the temperature it was actually set on). Went to bed in a very clean room though, the housekeeping was good (like I said, the people are doing the best they can). Woke up the next morning and decided to make coffee...coffee maker broken. Asked for another one, once it arrived, found it to be missing a few parts. Went to our original room and got that one...which turned out was missing a few parts too. Was finally able to build one coffee maker out of the three. Mini fridge, toaster and stove top did work though, and we also finally got hot water by about 3pm. Have to admit, the view off the balcony of 209 was incredible, but it would be anywhere on KHL Ocean view I bet. Once looking around, I realized we were pretty lucky. We were one of the few rooms that had 2 chairs, 2 lounges and a table on our porch/balcony that were functional. Several of the tables had the glass tops broken out. Many of the chairs and lounges were ripped. Luckily we don't watch television much, since the sound rarely worked on either of the televisions we had. Only other problem we had was that they couldn't seem to kill the ants that were apparently nesting in the sleeper sofa. Luckily it was just the two of us, so we just avoided sitting on it the rest of the trip. We did go to see the tennis court which looks relatively nice in the pictures. Those photos are relatively old. The net is torn down, the lights are mostly broken out, and the surface is cracked, pitted and has vegetation growing all in it. They are using a lot of old photos for the website, so buyer beware. We never did eat at the on site restaurants...we were warned not to by too many people, so I can't say much about that. All in all...incredible location and in water access (Go West Diving shop is awesome); wonderful, friendly, helpful staff (just no "tools" to work with); gorgeous views. PLEASE...somebody that cares about this place needs to buy it, and bring it up to it's capabilities...it can be one of the best places on the island. I won't stay here again until then...but I will stay as close as I can!
