Casa colonial and spa

By far one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed up out of the United States. My recommendation I think this is the best hotel in Puerto Plata Dominican republic. Not too big close to the water and nice and quiet. The hotel staff is very accommodating. Looking forward to my return I highly recommend anybody who wants to stay at a luxury hotel

Fantastic Hotel

This hotel is very well provided for in terms of décor and facilities, the staff are attentive and gracious, the rooms are large and well appointed, when ordering the breakfast unless you are very hungry avoid the American as it a full three courses, but I still managed it. I would have no hesitation in giving my recommendation to this hotel.

Truly 5 star

This is a beautiful boutique hotel with around 30 rooms and beautiful garden like surroundings, service is 5 star and a beautiful private beach.Drinks are very good and the spa offer a 5 star treatments.The restaurant is also good and the pool at the top has a view over the bay to die very.Highly recommended.

We were so sad to leave today! Casa Colonial really surpassed our expectations! The pictures do not do this hotel justice. You cannot capture its ambiance and feeling in a picture. Once you enter the gates you feel like you have been transported somewhere else; you feel immediately relaxed. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. A previous reviewer described it quite right as affordable luxury because you get a lot more than what you pay for. My husband and I are convinced this same hotel would have rates three times as high somewhere else. It has Beverly Hills style but is much more relaxed and laid back. We really enjoyed our couples massage at the spa and dinner at Lucia restaurant which is beautiful! We loved the lobby bar with the live piano and singer. The bartender was very friendly and attentive; all the employees here are very attentive and friendly actually. We had an ocean front junior suite and could hear the waves from our bed.. truly wonderful!! Hope to be back soon!

Let me begin by saying the hotel is beautiful and I was considering hosting my daughter's destination wedding here. I repeat: WAS CONSIDERING!I have stayed in many if the finest hotels around the world and along with excellent accommodations, travelers expect exemplary customer service. I can go anywhere I want and choose particular properties for specific reasons.I vacation, mainly in Dominican Republic, and do so between 8-10 times a year. I have been all around the island, and considered having my daughter's wedding at Casa Colonial, until my experience with "general manager" Jose Manuel Perez. This individual who claimed to be the general manager and the "highest level of supervision" at that particular time. He may have been perhaps the rudest customer service individual, and hopefully a misrepresentation of what appeared to be a very nice resort.Merely as a point of reference, I explained to Mr. Perez I was staying down the road at the Iberostar. To which he replied "this hotel isn't all-inclusive". That's fantastic, but I didn't ask. I asked again about accommodations and he repeated "this hotel isn't all-inclusive". I thanked him respectfully and asked to speak with someone above him that can assist. To which I was told he was the general manager.After asking about rooms, I was told that "none were available" and I should "go to the website" to see the options ... Really? I'm right here, but ok.I then asked another employee if the general manager was available and they referred me Ms. Basilia Diaz. Another steller representative with only customer service in mind.She was no more helpful than he was. They both had a condescending, dismissive tone that wasn't very inviting. considering I am Hispanic and this coming from fellow Latinos, I found it even more disappointing.As I said, I wanted to research the best location for my daughter's wedding. Was even considering staying there with my girlfriend, but will be looking back in Punta Cana, as I originally intended.i am an established, mature Hispanic professional, travelling for the past 35 years and this is my first post. I could not let this level of disrespect and incompetence go unshared with fellow travelers.Being a service industry professional myself, rather than dismissing Mr. Perez, perhaps the best way for him to refine his interactive and customer service skills, may be to revert back to his previous responsibilities of handing of towel poolside.
