This is my second time in DR. The first time I went was only 3 months before in April and I stayed at Be Live Collection which was okay, not special. It was not as amazing as Lifestyle. The food, shows, drinks, beach, were amazing at lifestyle but the Entertainment team was amazing. Everyday and night they had us doing something fun! I have been a dance/Zumba instructor for many many years so I really can be honest and say all of them work hard and do their best to entertain their customers, especially Blacky and Brad Pitt!!! Thanx for the pool Zumba every morning and your great hospitality. I will definitely be back for Christmas!!!!!
My husband, kids and 30 plus friends traveled to Lifestyle in July and we had a great time. This was my 7th visit to this resort because you just can’t beat the price. We paid $518 pp with a direct flight from Newark for 7 nights, 8 days, including airport transfers. Upon check in, our rooms were not ready, but we stowed the bags with the bellman and made our way to Casa Blanca, the buffet. There is always something to eat from you pick your pasta and your sauce, to pizza, fish of the day, hamburgers, hot dogs and fruit. The resort has theme night where they have Italian, Mexican, American, Chinese and Dominican specialties on those nights. The staff like Rogue and Jose helped us get tables for our big group. I adore Pedro Olvido, the omelet man, who remembered me from 9 years ago! Carmen, the ice cream lady, was a tough cookie at first because she guarded the ice cream with tenacity, but by the end of the week, she was my new best friend! There are also other restaurants you can sign up for and eat at included in your stay. There is a sister resort right next door called Cofresi, where you can eat at their buffet, swim at their pool and drink their drinks. The front desk staff was probably the worst ever. They were not helpful, moody and you felt like you were inconveniencing them. What a shame because that is the first taste of people’s stay and it is not good. The rooms were fine. The air conditioner worked and the tv had several English channels. The bathroom has a blow dryer and you don’t need an adapter. There were complimentary shampoos, conditioner, soap, etc and the fridge is supposed to be stocked with beer, soda and water the very first day only. If yours was empty, go see the front desk right away because they claim they only stock it like that upon arrival. They will give you bottled water for brushing your teeth every day because you cannot drink your water in the room, but it is safe everywhere else. The pools are decent, and there always seemed to be a chair to sit on. You have either a towel card or towel at all times. The entertainment staff was good, my father in law had a great time dancing with Pamela! The biggest disappointment was that there used be a bubble party in the streets and a huge welcome party Sunday nights with fireworks. Neither of them happened due to weather, but other than a 5 minute shower one day, it was perfect weather. There were some storms at night but I only knew that because the sidewalks were wet the next day. The VIP beach was excellent as always, with the cabana boys and girls bringing drinks all day. Bartenders like David and Danny are an asset to the resort. All of these people work so hard. Our Cheap Caribbean representative, Jorge, and his partner, John Wayne, helped answer questions and were a great liaison between the resort, the airport shuttle company and the excursion people. Thirty-five of us signed up for a catamaran/snorkel trip on a Saturday, and when Nicole from FreeStyle showed up, she had no idea the size of our group. I don’t know what exactly happened, but we all were extremely disappointed to go back to our rooms that day. Instead, we tried again for Monday and had the absolute best time. For our troubles, they gave us the entire catamaran to ourselves! IT was the best day! I always say that I would not go back here, but somehow I do. For the price, it is exceptional, but you can’t go expecting 5 star accommodations. Hope that was helpful!
Like every resort there are pros and cons.Pros- The entertainment staff was incredible! They were extremely nice and upbeat. They are what made this stay 4 stars. Blacky and Yahairo "Brad Pitt" were the best! They had games and competitions throughout the day and it ended with dancing at night! The music was always upbeat and all I wanted to do was dance! Cons- The air conditioning was never fixed. The list of activities and places that you can go were quite deceiving. When we got there, we found out that 90% of the resort and the activities there were only for VIP members. We were also told that someone was going to bring us around the resort and show us the VIP areas that we can use (not being members). It was actually a time share presentation and they tried make us upgrade. We were told that it was between $4000-$55000 to upgrade while another couple was told it was $95000. Other than the entertainment staff, the other areas were very unorganized and not consistent. The only reason I would go back is because of the entertainment staff! Like I said before they were incredible. Thank you Yahairo "Brad Pitt" and Blacky!!
The Tropical at Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Resort is the resort you have to visit. Once you visit there, you want to come back. That's what happened to me and my sister. We were there a year ago at first time and decided to come again this year. And this time we stayed no less than three weeks! Somebody may think that three weeks at the same hotel would be too much, but not for us. Travelling from our country (from Finland) takes so long time, that you have to be at least 2 weeks if you really want to see this place. First of all, the hotel area is so large, that you can spend much time just walking and finding new places, new restaurants etc. There are many pools and lots of activites that you can participate in and have fun. And there are lots of interesting trips you can make. Just walk to the excursion center and choose. The entertainment team is amazing! Special thanks to "Blacky"! He is really professional at his job, he is allways ready to entertain people, to play, to dance or anything else! And he has a really good humor, so you won't have boring with him. He is very friendly to everyone and he makes everyone feel welcome. Also thanks to "Anaconda" who was an entertainer at Cofresi. Thanks to every other entertainer too, we really miss you all! Nightly shows with professional dancers are also fantastic! Special thanks to those dancers too. And the Welcome Party on Sunday... well, you just have to go and see it! After three weeks at Lifestyle I would absolutely visit there again with pleasure! This place really is a home away from home!
I was expecting much more was recommended by a friend but had issues with no tv control to the room and it took about two hrs to get it and not having access to certain beaches and certain restaurants and bar everywhere in the resort all you see is VIP banners.
