Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort

Location: Beachfront, 45 min from the airport and 15 min to downtown Puerto Plata.
All inclusive for a great price, however the food and accommodations weren't the best. Beach was full of garbage which at first we thought it was because of the hurricane, but that wasn't the case. Days after the storm no one from the resort was out there cleaning the beach which was a shame because it was a very nice beach. The food and drink quality were mediocre, the booze was low quality and the food seemed to be recycled from the day before. Staff didn't seem knowledgeable or willing to help every time we had a question about leaving the resort. The rooms were extremely outdated with the showers needing to be replaced. The cold water didn't work properly and the hot water was too hot. On our first full day at the resort we were hounded by some reps from the VIP member only area and once we agreed to the tour we were harassed for three days non stop about purchasing a membership which was outrageous and not worth it. Overall the place has potential once upgraded and renovated and it would be a great place to go on vacation for ppl in their 20s that are looking for a cheap vacation and could care less about accommodations, food and booze.
My family and I have stayed at Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Resort twice now and we had the best time! During our last stay, which was three weeks ago now, a group of young men were teaching us how to dance before their nightly shows at the Coliseum. Their names were Chiguagua, Bradpi, Pamela and Blaque. They were the sweetest and most enthusiastic entertainment workers! We had a great time dancing with them and watching them perform live.
My second visit.. when i arrive it was long weekend of may.. check in was slow.. but once we arrive in the room, so perfectly clean.. and i will not talk about a scratch here and their.. is your furniture at home perfect.. :).. life style is a life style.. they make you feel like a million dollars..buffet changes every night.. did not go to any restaurant a la carte because buffet is enough for my taste.. grounds are kept clean.. i remember the snack bar being old when i went 18 months ago.. guess what .. they are building a new one.. upgraded many facilities.. they only critique is that when they open the relocated snack bar at 11 Pm the hot dogs and burgers are the same one as night before.. very dry.. shows are fun.. drinks tasty.. make sure to check the board for activities because the are sometimes located on the other resorts, .. big resort sometimes confusing.. but do not be shy to ask.. they will walk you anywhere.. and last.. i work in the bar business. i go on vacation because of my tips.. so don t forget that.. do not be an impolite to people that will go out of their way to serve you.. you are a visitor in their home land..
This resort has so much potential however, new management is required. The service is terrible. The staff is not well informed. They do not communicate with the guests and provide incorrect information. No one comes around to provide drinks or food. You have to make a line at the bar to get anything here. The hotel rooms are filthy and outdated. To make matters worst, we attended one of their "shows" and it was a magic show where the guy was swinging and throwing around live animals such as ducks, goats & rabbits. The behavior was extremely abusive and hard to watch. I plan on reporting them. Although they claim to have so many dinner options, only certain restaurants are open on certain days. The only one I liked was the Italian restaurant (great food). The beach was gross. Smelled terrible and was filled with seaweed. Staff are constantly going around trying to sell you things which is really annoying. If you want to go to DR, go for Punta Cana. If you insist on visiting Puerto Plata please try a different resort.
My experience was not the best for an all inclusive resort due to poor customer service at the front desk. Supervisor by the name of Robbie was horrible and so unprofessional. It's bazaar how the hotel employees who work in the back of house (for example; the restaurant, pool areas, bar and custodians) were more welcoming than the front desk hotel agents. First impression is everything! This hotel is old and the bathroom is the prime example.I did not like the hotel it is super outdated. Had several issues with my rooms from water leakage and broken window. In my third room the shower head was broken completely. I got tired of moving around and was told there were no rooms available. I spoke to the supervisor by the name of Robbie, he was unhelpful and rude and such a disgusting person. He works in the hospitality industry and he lacks professionalism. I would have rather talked to a manager, but one was never available. This hotel did not accommodate for the troubles. The pool area was not a relaxing place since there was construction going on property, which was super loud. This information is not on the website or told when booking to inform of noise level. A lot of activities were cancelled like the welcome party. Attention: All non-motorized activities are not included in the all inclusive package though it states that when booking. In the morning you have about an hour time slot to reserve dinner reservations only. The food was ok. Not as many authentic options as I expected. We got bored with breakfast same thing on the menu. No wifi unless you travel to certain areas of the hotel. The restaurant and bar staff around the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The private beach was fun. All pools and the private beach close at 6pm. Honestly I was disappointed about that.I would not book another stay at this property or any associated with Lifestyle brand.
