If you're looking for a great hotel with lots of food choices and a decent beach, this is it. Overall this is a solid 4 star, great for the kids and it even has a swim up bar for the adults.
Just returned from a two week stay with two other couples. It's a smaller resort and easy to get around. The grounds were clean and well kept. We spent most of our days on the beach, we had an upgrade and spent our time at the vintage beach area. Big thumbs up to Aquallina who took great care of us, also to the older gentlemen who brought us our loungers and cushions. Yes there are a lot of beach vendors but they don't bother you if you say no. We chatted with quite a few though and spoke to a lot of the same ones daily without buying anything. The ocean was nice to swim in with some opportunity for snorkling. We weren't there to party so the quiet atmosphere was perfect. We spent many evenings playing cards after dinner at the beach bar. I think our bartenders name was Orson but after all the rum I'm not sure. I just know he also took great care of us and made sure that we were taken care of even when he was closing up. The rooms are a bit dated but nice and always clean. No issues with hot water. The buffet has plenty of variety and the service was good. There were so many wonderful staff in there whose names I don't know but Santa went out of her way to take care of us when we were in her section for dinner. The vintage club is a nice place to go for a better quality drink in the afternoon and a great coffee and Baileys in the morning. Tony was always friendly and helpful. We really didn't use the pool much and only ventured over to the quiet pool when we had a dinner reservation. We tried all three of the al a carte our favourite was the Italian. We watched a bit of the evening shows but we were never really there early enough to get seats. I would definitely recommend this resort if you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation. If you are looking to party it's probably not for you.
The beaches were gorgeous, you could walk for a long time and still be on resorts. The pools were perfect, lots of chairs and options for sun/shade. The chairs by the main pool were pretty uncomfortable if they were flat, but really not much to complain about. The rooms were cleaned and re-stocked daily, the cleaning staff were so sweet. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, the bartenders went out of their way to accommodate (Ex. going to a different bar to get fresh bananas for Chocolate Monkeys mmm). However, it would be nice if there was a 24-hour bar open. The food was great, the buffet selection changed daily (but the staples like white rice, etc. were always available). The entertainment was a lot of fun! They had activities and shows throughout the day that were hilarious. The entertainment staff encourage people to participate, but in a fun way that's not too pushy. Specifically, there was one entertainer Compota who was always happy and hilarious! He had so much energy and was a great dancer. Overall it was a great vacation, I will definitely go back!
We are two couples from Finland (don´t even ask what the weather is like there in January-February, I can promise: very very cold!). Visited this PARADISE for the second time, 14 nights, the same frinedly service and staff as last year at the same time. After 12 hours flight (in the business class, Finnair´s service there was nothing but fantastic, and those full flat beds...OMG! 7 hours of continuous sleep between two fantastic meals), a private taxi just in 20 minutes from the airport to the hotel. And first morning, "our" fantastic Bruno was there, so the service begin straight from the breakfast, and all the other bartenders (Elvyn at the beach bar), cannot remember the names of all the fantastic staff members, food and the quality of the evening programs was better than the year before, roomkeeping fantastic, everything worked, and we were lucky with the weather, just a few showers at nighttime! We made a few trips (visited Monte Christo, The Paradise Islands, Free style catamaran, fishing (unfortunately this time got nothing but seagrass...), and the rest of the holiday spent fantastic time at the hotel and of course in the crystal clear sea also. And there were no vendors at the beach, which was a good point! We promised Bruno that we`ll see next year again! Will arrive at the end of January again, for two weeks, and return nonstop flights with Finnair (business class, definitely)! Greetings from Yarmo, Elina, Anneli and "mister mamajuana" Lasse.
I love this place, my kids are so happy when we arrive here and if they are happy then so am I. We have been visiting this hotel for the passed 10 years and we will probably visit for another 10 years. The food is great for the kids, the hotel is clean and tidy. The grounds are prefect for older kids to explore and not be too far away from you. I have to give a big shout out to the best entertainment staff Shorty, Carlos, Alex and Delfy. In fact there are so many more I could name but it would go on forever. Keep up the great work and we will see you very soon.
The hotel has 3 buildings, 2 of which are really close to the beach and building 3 (Beattica) with its own quiet pool is a bit further away. The buffet food is excellent with a goog variety. The staff was friendly and eager to speak english. The rooms were clean and the towels were almost always changed in time. We had a large single bed while the other couple travelling with us had 2 double (54 in) beds. The WIFI is not great (speed 5Mbps) but acceptable (35$US for 7 days). Free WIFI not worth mentioning. The 3 A LA CARTE restaurants, Octopus, Beach Grill and Italian De la mare had a good selection...notice that ''sea food'' includes the chewey octopus (in case you don't like). The only negative (not related to resort) is the infamousbeach/pool chairs reservations with towels (no savoir vivre) and the heavily perfumed lady sitting next to us in the airplane.
