I completely enjoyed my stay at this hotel in July, They are very entertaining there isn't much young people on the resort but they staff does keep a nightly show thats very entertaining. They have games and activities throughout the day, there is a near by club a lot of activities were close by. The food was good, especially sofrito that restaurant is the best but it was only open once through out my stay. Inside our hotel room everything was very damp for some strange reason. The staff was very warming especially my new friend Kevin Heart he always made sure we were having a good time filled with laughter.
My husband and I just returned from spending our honeymoon at Wyndham V Heavens. It is beautiful at the resort and the entertainment is fun and outgoing and ran some great activities however I was very disappointed with the quality of customer service offered by the front desk staff. They greet you with drinks and smiles but their service doesn't exceed anything past that. We travelled with Sunwing and despite them offering excursions, we decided to book three excursions with another couple through a company on the beach.Don't book ahead of time - wait to you arrive at the resort and talk to the different companies before booking. That way you can ensure that you receive the best bang for your buck. There are multiple options to book excursions and because they are in competition with each other they obviously say things in attempt to deter you from booking somewhere else in hope to get your money. The excursions through Nexus/Sunwing are very expensive. We booked the excursions through Hector on the beach and had great experiences on the excursions. We did not pay all the money upfront and were able to pay the rest when being picked up. We did the Outback adventure, the waterfalls, snorkelling in Sosua and dune buggy's. We all agreed that Sosua was beautiful and that excursion is definitely highly recommended. As indicated when booking we informed Wyndham that we were on our honeymoon and my husbandcalled the day before we arrived to remind them. It is advertised through Sunwing and on the website that when you show a copy of your marriage licence you receive a room upgrade, a bottle of champagne in your room, a dinner on the beach etc.. By Sunday we had received none of this and the front desk staff said we had to wait until their boss arrived on Monday. On Monday we were told that they didn't have it recorded and would deliver the champagne to our room by the afternoon. All in all, the only thing we received was a bottle of red wine with no bottle opener and a plate of fruit that you order through room service. Our room was the same room type that those on the same plane received. It would have been different if they did not advertise this honeymoon service - but they did. We were disappointed and sick of asking for them to honour it. There was a lack of care from all front desk staff.Would I recommend it? It really depends on what your expectations are for an all inclusive. It is a small intimate resort which presents pros and cons. The food is good. It requires a short walk to the beach as the resort does not sit directly on the beach front but the beach is clean and beautiful. Ultimately it was a beautiful vacation but my disappointment about their lack of customer oriented service outweighs that and my husband and I will not return.
The resort was great! As a first time vacationer, I was able to really enjoy myself. The entertainment team found on the resort was amazing. Within the entertainment team, RoboCop taught me to maranga dance, brought me on a relaxing bicycle tour and really made me feel welcome and like family! Within my stay, I went on two excursion (outback adventure and VIP Island). The outback excursion was amazing, I really was able to take in the Dominican Republic. Seeing all the villages, how coffee was created and how fresh chocolate was made. On my second excursion we visited Paradise Island, and that was a beautiful place. There we were able to go snorkeling, champagne in the ocean and picture perfect scenery. I want to personally thank the entertainer team for treating us well and keeping our spirits high. Thank you, RoboCop, La Gata, La Chispa, DJ Abel, Kathi, Hercules, DJ Ronald, Candy Love and Goofy.
This resort was amazing, we spent one week here and had a great time. The hotel rooms were always clean and the food was great. The entertainment team was awesome! DJ Abel played great music, and Robocop was very fun and taught us how to dance and took us on a bike tour and was very informative. We also had a great time getting to know the other entertainers too, La Chispa, Kathi, Kandi, Goofy, DJ Ronald, Hercules, La Gata they were all amazing. The restaurants were also amazing. The food was incredible and it was great being able to taste the different seafood and fish. The pool was clean and the walk to the beach wasn't too long. I had a great time and would definitely come back again!
my expectations were high about viva wyndham . We went 2 times to the wyndham in Samana ( which is a palace compare to the wyndham in Puerto Plata ) . The problem is when you go to a superior hotel you feel disappoint when you compare . The worst is the hotel guest service at the reception , they just dont care at all- We were screwed by the people for the tour, scuba diving be careful all they want is you to pay cash this way no refund even if they tell you that they admit you should have a compensation because of all the problem you will have . Only 1 barman with experience( swimming pool area ) all the other the only thing they can do is serve a beer .The only positive side was the food and the server in all restaurants , hotel , swimming pool is very old we had problem with the toilet 4 days on 7 , i would not recommend this hotel
