Our room was absolutely beautiful and the resort was beautiful! Everything was very clean and the good was fine. My first complain was the lousy wifi which we had to pay for and was still not great. My second and final complain complaint concerns the staff. On our first night, my sister was harassed by one of the workers who would not stop calling our room and said inappropriate things to her over the phone and in person. A few other workers made us uncomfortable as well. Overall this was an amazing experience but the staff did really affect our experience.
This place is really beautiful. It is situated in a gorgeous marina setting. I would have loved to give it a 5 star but it was missing a few touches. I would say it is a great 4 1/2 stars.I will start with what was negative for me as the positives far out weigh the negatives: this place is not for young adults. I was travelling with my kids and there really was not much action there for them. The night club is not included in the all inclusive package but was free entrance. It was always empty though. The beach is small but clean, we knew that going in but just underestimated the importance of it. They do have shuttles to a beautiful beach, but they run on set times and there is always a long line to get on. Also there is little chairs there unless you pay $120USThere is a small buffet with good food just not a big variety. Also bothered me that there was never enough serving spoons or tongs to go with the number of food options. There is many restaurants with good food also but service sometimes was really slow, we often waited two hours to get our food.Rooms at the Alsol Luxury are nice and big but the cleaning staff left a lot to desire. Most of the time we had no towels and the room wasn't always cleaned properly. The shows were not spectacular either. The positives: I have travelled often but I have never seen such outstanding service anywhere. Right from check in to all the staff in the restaurants, they were the most pleasant and accommodating people ever, we were a group of 10 people and they took every consideration for us.The site is outstanding. I loved that you get access to both hotels. The Tiara side is a hotel where as the Luxury side is owner owned condos that they rent out. That being said some may not like that the buffet is on one side, the beach on another and bars often close on the Tiara side early. Basically if you are mature adults that want a beautiful, relaxing vacation with outstanding service this is the place.
The were many highs of our trip. Overall the hotel and property were of a very high level. The staff were some of the most friendly that I have encountered. Our bartender Inncenceo was awesome. The food for an all inclusive was great and there was a lot of choices among the diffferent restaurants. There was also 24 hr rm service, took around 30-45 minutes to come, but having that option was nice. There were a couple of things that could have been improved. There were a few days that we never got our towels till quite late. There was coffee in our rm, but no cups. Finally managed to get cups through rm service. The rm we had which was a junior suite was large and had all the things you would want. Some of the things needed to be updated. Like the headboard which was peeling, rugs beside bed needed to be cleaned. Toilet quite working several times. It was fixed promptly by the hotel though.I think I would go back. The value I received was there. Probably would be more vocal to hotel on needs though.
This is the highest rating I've ever given a resort. Well done! The only things that would have made this a better vacation for us: a phone in the bedroom so we didn't have to run for our wake-up call (we could never get the clock in the bedroom on the correct time). A tv in the bedroom would also have been a nice touch. More reliable room service - we ordered breakfast at 6am one morning and were told yes, no problem, you can order breakfast now. We were also told it would be at our door "in 35 to 45 minutes." We called an hour later and were told "it's on the way" - we waited another 15 minutes, finally had to leave in order to be on time for an excursion pick-up and it still hadn't arrived. We quickly grabbed some pastries and coffee from the self-serve outside the buffet, which wasn't what we had in mind. More consistency in the newsletter: one night the newsletter advertised Italian at the a la carte restaurant, it turned out to be "steak house night." Another night the entertainment was listed as being at the Luxury but it turned out to be at the Tiara. Another night entertainment was in the newsletter as Retro Night but the entertainment staff at the pool said it was Karaoke Night. More entertainment - the Circus show was very good, the Dominican Show was very good. All that being said: if you want a nice, clean resort where you can unwind and relax for a week. the Alsol Luxury Village just might be the place for you. If you want to party and be entertained non-stop (all day, all night), it's not. We wanted to rest and relax and that's what we did. We didn't have a problem getting a great seat by the pool every day- we opted for the "entertainment" pool but aside from Spanish Lessons (which were fun and helpful, gracias Spaguetti!) and water aerobics there wasn't much to do. Alfonso at the poolside bar was great. Rafael and Michael were very helpful, and some of the wait staff is just wonderful! The food was great - bacon for breakfast is unusual in the Caribbean. Perfectly cooked bacon is even more unusual. Not at Alsol Luxury Village! There were lots of items to choose from on the buffets. We found dinner at our resort far superior to dinner at the Tiara (which we tried a couple of times). We also ate lunch at the pool side cafe and the garlic shrimp and fish of the day were wonderful. Lobster was tasty and had lots of meat. Absolutely no issues with the food (again, not our usual experience, so well done!). Our room was very spacious, we had a one bedroom suite with two terraces. We had plenty of towels in every size, our fridge was stocked with water and soft drinks, and our bed was very, very comfortable. The pillows in the closet were more to our taste (firm) than the ones on the bed. Our only issue with the room was that the couch was a bit low and soft, so a slight challenge to get up and down from. And doors tend to slam when caught by a draft and that can get a bit annoying. Otherwise, again, we were very pleased. The desk staff is courteous and helpful. We had nothing but positive experiences with the staff, we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and we would gladly recommend this resort (and will very likely return one day). Thanks, Alsol Luxury, for a relaxing week!
This place is great! The rooms were very nice and actually really big. Very clean. Events planned every night for guests. Several pools to use, including sister properties that you can walk to. Plenty to do. Very relaxing. Small beach, but free shuttle will bring you to a bigger beach. All Inclusive options are great. Very Very friendly staff. Bartenders are great. Food is good. Babor is a great place to get a massage. Everything you could ask for in a resort.
