Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
The Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe is a great getaway resort for both families and couples. The food options here are average. Make sure to reserve your a la carte restaurants at the beginning of your stay, as most of these restaurants get booked relatively quickly. The buffet items aren't that exciting. For those looking for good food in this resort, the best place to visit is the golf-course. There is a separate area in the resort for families with children (where babysitting services are available). This area includes an animal themed water-park, perfect for kids. The beach area is beautiful, well-maintained, and there are plenty of loungers available. There is also plenty of aquatic activities available, so you'll never have a shortage of things to do!
I've been to Barcelo first time in nov 2015 just me and my hubby....a good experience and decided to go back the following year with our baby girl...again everything ok....food a little disappointing but not a strong reason not to go back....So we have decided to go back on Jan 6 to 16th.....7 people in total....us and another family with teenagers ....let's start with a 1 hr long line at check in....:(, getting in the room everything was extreamly dusty and a DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY shower....I went back to the front desk and pointed this out...the receptionist said will take care of this and by the second day will be better....The following morning the cleaning lady cames to do the cleaning....I handdle to her 10 bucks and ask her to do a proper clean up....after beach we go back to the room and nothing changed except the fact that we were missing from the room even the face towels...and so on...every day we were missing something....one day the towels, other the blanket, other the coffee mugs, and the mini bar was never restocked except for water....I had to buy my own coffee ....The restaurants:The buffets had the same thing every day ....horrible food and dirty everywhere....The mexican restaurant was very good and Claudia was very nice to us...The steak restaurant was also very good Maria and the sommelier are very nice ppl...The rest was very very disappointing.....The hotel needs a renovation asap and most deffinetly they need RESTAURANT EDUCATED PEOPLE.... the servers at the buffets were just some rude and simply ignore the guests.....the tables at the buffets were extreamly dirty same as the plates and the silverware.....I am not the type of complaining person but this time was just a horrible experience for witch we paid 18000 euro to came all the way from Europe for that piece of Heaven that the Dominicans have there....So ppl stay away from this resort but definitely visit DR ....a beautiful country!
Been in this place multiple times in a past 20 years and just keep seeing it deteriorate in value , at this point it's not worth coming to this place and expect anything other than 2+ food, 2+ service , good accommodations only if you are staying in ocean front deluxe section only , water on multiple occasions is not good and dirty, looks like area pollution affects its fauna - I can see how things changed since my first visit to this hotel in 1997. May be If you can get a good deal for let's say 2400-2500$ for a week for two all inclusive with airfare from the states with ocean front deluxe club - it's ok but anything above that look for something else.... it's all about the value for the money.
We stayed with our kids on a weekend on this hotel. When booking we took the premium rooms, since they told us we would've enjoy premium service and drinks. When we arrived on friday, we couldn't book not even one night at any a la carte restaurant since they were all book out for the whole weekend. Also, when we asked about premium drinks at the beach and at the pool, they informed us, that if we want to enjoy our premium level we could only do it at the reception premium lobby, which is the only place to enjoy the premium drinks and food. Who would pay premium price to have to walk 900 feet out of the beach or the pool?? There are much better hotels like Melia, with real premium service even in the pool. Sorry Barcelo Palace, you won't see me ever again.
I will write this review the easiest way for travelers. Pros. 1. Good facilities, big and long pool.2. Great water activities 3. Great areas for toddlers and children's4. Space and convenience rooms5. Airport transfer included in rate.Cons. 1. Room needs further cleaning.2. Food is terrible. Across all the restaurants. There are at least 6 restaurants a la carte plus 2 buffets, but you need to reserve in a la carte (good luck as they are always full, only options were 630pm or after 930pm). Make sure you bring pants otherwise you will need to buy $80 pants. Someone need to tell the GM that we are at the beach!!!. At least French restaurant will be ok with no shorts dress code.3. Be careful with he buffet, sometimes they serve raw chicken and when I advise the cooker they did not say thank you or sorry. This happened Twice!!4. Wi-fi, you need to pay at least $6 -$12 per day per device (subject to your # of night) Connectivity very bad and slow. Not even a phone call from whatsapp is possible. I do not mind to pay but not for this type of service/speed.5. Staff seems not happy. Not sure if they don't get tips or what but 2 out 10 will Make eye contact or actually say good morning.6. TV movie channels, without signal or without sound, only European worked.7. You need to pay for room service if request. (I guess the same type of food at the restaurant) 8. Beach not that great to be located in Punta Cana. Expectation were different. 9. Water Park inside, you need to pay a day pass $10. I wanted to try this hotel and compare vs hard rock and palace hotels, however I was very disappointed. Overall I would rate this hotel 2out5, I will not recommend this hotel as for $380 a night I believe there are much better options.
We com to Dominican Republic every year for the past 25 years. This is the worst hotel that we've ever been to in Punta Cana We are here now since 1/14 and we booked a 10 day stay. Horrible service, cheap food no service on the beach at all, not even 1 umbrella at the entire beach. Rooms are not cleaned daily. You have to ask the maid 5 times a day to clean your room and now we just got back to our room at 11pm still the room hasn't been cleaned and no fresh towels Internet is $50 for 1 week for 1 device only and it hardly works TVs are old and hardly working but remote controls do not work at all. Bottom line ! Stay away from this horrible place
