Bavaro Princess All Suites Resort
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
A good resort in Punta Cana. This place is more suited for families with children. However, there are some quiet spots around the resort, making it a suitable place for couples as well. It should be noted that unless you're a platinum member, there are some amenities that might be missing from your stay. However, this does not take away from your experience. This a must-go place for those looking for a perfect beach and incredibly spacious rooms.
Amazing vacation spent in bavaro princess. Platinum suite was the way to go! First starting with the stuff, their kindness, friendliness and warmness... Big thanks to Edgar who made sure everything was going well. He deserves award for best customer service. Everybody else were amazing as well. Except for one of the girls, Ellen, who takes and edit the pictures next to the main lobby. Extremely rude and offensive, they should not have people like her work at resorts. She was attacking people and making offensive "jokes". Our suite was amazing (huge king size bed, the bathroom had two sinks, big bathtub (Not jacuzzi) as stated in their website. We had a lady coming to clean every day, sometimes twice a day. They are really making sure everything is great. The beach, well for that I'm speechless! White sand, very clean, water was blue and super warm (we went the last 2 weeks of August). Their platinum beds are amazing, very comfortable. They also have a mini bar at the platinum suite, you can go get yourself drinks, however big thanks to Jose, who was always there making sure we had everything we need, coming all day to check on everybody and bringing beverages. His customer service was amazing; he is very friendly, helpful and kind! Excellent customer service Jose! Thank you for everything! The food was good as well, only concern that we had, it was with the servants at the main buffet; they are so many of them, but their service is very slow. Every time we went to eat there, in the evening, I ended up waiting 10,15 min for a drink. And no, you can't go get it yourself, so you will need to get up in the middle of your meal and go at the front ask for somebody to come and bring you drink. Very annoying. Mornings were a little bit better as you can get yourself a drink. Also, most of the stuff barely speak English, so it is very difficult to communicate. Robinson, amazing service and thanks to him we had the best crepes. He is very friendly as well, even though he doesn't speak English. The "A la carte", restaurants were good. I personally liked the Mexican and la petite fondue at the caribe or princess resort, forgot which one was exactly. Best part was that you can dine at the rest of their princess hotels, they also provide transportation to get there. We also did parasailing, from the people at the resort, right next to the platinum suite. Warnings to everyone for that; These guys are going to take your money for nothing! You'll pay for 20min and only get 5! So when they tell you price of $100 per person bargain, you will get much lower, even $40 is too much for that 5 min they give you! We also did 2 excursions, saona beach (through sunwing), that was a little disappointing. They picked up us at 8:30am, but we were told 8am (they run on their one Dominican time), always late! We were suppose to get at the island at 10am, have lunch at noon and leave at 2pm. Well, that didn't go as promised. We got at the speed boots to get to the island at 11 am, stopped for 15 minutes at the "natural swimming pool" in the Caribbean Sea, is what they call it (the only thing worth of seeing); Where, the water is up to your hips, it is crystal clear, and there are so many star fishes. It is the most beautiful sea water I've ever seen. I've also attached some photos below. We got at the Saona island at noon, right on time for lunch, so overall we had only 1 hour to spend at the beach, not really worth it! We also did boogies, different excursion, and the best so far. You'll get to see Dominican plantations, the way the village people live, make their own coffee and cigars! The mud was fun! We had a great time, definitely will be back!
Beautiful resort with extra friendly staff, everybody will go out of there way to help you. We have been going for the past 4 years but felt the band and the shows in the evening where extremely loud this year. Unfortunately you could not have a conversation in main lobby bar area whilst the entertainment was playing. Food was very good if not the best since we started going to the resort. We think as do our friends who also join us every year that a sports/karaoke bar would be a huge benefit to the resort.
We visited 17th Nov till 28th Nov and had a fabulous holiday at bavaro princess! All staff were hard working and really friendly. Our room 372 was close to the beach and very nice. Jerry at reception was lovely and made us all feel very welcome right from the start . We ate at most of the restaurants and the lobby buffet all of which were good. My daughter Chloe especially liked the crepes which were made whilst you waited by Robinson . The ground workers were great and would get you fresh coconuts off the palm trees. The hotel grounds and wildlife are beautiful. My favourite part was the beautiful beach which was the nicest sand I had walked on, it really was fabulous. We would definitely visit bavaro princess again
I have been traveling regularly to all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Central America for many years and try to provide a balanced and honest review. This trip for 9 days in November 2016 was my 5th time to Punta Cana. On the whole I found the Bavaro Princess to be a wonderful resort with much to offer. I did upgrade to Platinum which I recommend. There were some problems while we were at the resort but most were related to the terrible rainy weather which of course the resort cannot control. The highlight of the resort for me was the magnificent beach. The beach is huge with beautiful soft sand, lots of amenities (bar, snack bar, restaurant, bathrooms) and gorgeous views. There was no sign of seaweed. When we were there there were lots of lounge chairs and palapas and they all seemed to be newer. You can walk on the beach for long distances in either direction. I did notice while walking that some of the other resorts have much narrower beaches or beaches that have obviously had a lot of erosion and have steep slopes and palm trees literally falling over as the sand around the roots is eroding. The Bavaro Princess has none of those issues. It is very wide and flat. The large pool by the beach is very nice and has a swim up bar. There is also a small pool way at the back of the resort by the hotel area. I'm sure when the resort is full and the weather is better the pool by the beach must be crowded. They could really use another pool closer to the front or maybe for the Platinum area. The suite we had was large and beautiful with lots of marble. The tiled balconies are huge and there are beautiful views. I spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine and a book while it poured rain. I loved the huge jacuzzi tub. There are lots of shampoos, bath gels, soaps, sewing kits etc that are replaced daily. There are lots of towels and washcloths. The room was cleaned very well daily. The suite had a huge king size bed (not the greatest mattress); a sitting area with couch, chair, table and chairs; a bar area with mini fridge, coffee maker, etc; and a huge 2 section bathroom. The suite is well laid out. One thing that impressed me was the quiet. We literally never heard anything from the rooms around or below us, perhaps because of the lay-out but the walls must be reasonably thick. The kids club and the kids pool were fabulous - some of the best I've seen on my travels. The staff are great, conscientious, capable, and fun. My 7 year old son loved the pirate pool and it is great that it's right beside the beach with padded loungers for the parents. There are video games, toys, movies, computers and snacks/lunches/drinks in the kids club. I was very grateful for the kids club when it was raining but my son also kept asking to go on nice weather days too because he loved it there. The food and drinks were generally good and in some cases great (chicken, fish dishes, and desserts!). The main buffet is at the back of the resort in the huge beautiful lobby area but is quite a distance from the front part of the resort where most of the rooms are. It does have a large selection of food and is your best bet for picky eaters. My son loved the pizza, the french fries, and the ice cream from the various restaurants and the flaming dessert made for him at the table in the main buffet was a highlight. The lobby bar had great drinks and I loved that they had bags of popcorn and peanuts to go with the drinks. There is a second smaller buffet for dinner, Chopin, that was quite beautiful but had a more limited selection of food and at least once was closed for a private party forcing guests to go to the main buffet which was problematic due to flooding. There are a lot of local shopping opportunities within walking distance of the resort. You can walk down the short driveway to the resort entrance and there are a number of different shops, restaurants, etc right outside the entrance. You can also find lots of souvenir shops right on the beach in either direction if you go for a walk. Don't forget to bargain - the asking price is nowhere near what the vendors will take for the various souvenirs offered. I did find a pharmacy one street back from the beach on a beach walk (walking to the right when facing the ocean) which saved me a ton of money after my son got some mosquito bites (and I realized I had forgotten to pack anti-itch cream). The anti-itch cream at the resort store was $28 USD (!) and I got the same thing at the "farmacia" for $6.There are many advantages to upgrading to Platinum. The Platinum rooms are all close to the beach, the pool, and the a la carte restaurants, and there is a nice lounge for Platinum guests only with free wifi, a bar, and snacks. The lounge was a busy spot during our visit when it was pouring rain. The registration desk for Platinum is also in the lounge building and the staff will try to help you with any issues. Extras include 3 bottles of liquor (vodka, rum, scotch); free room service (it's very expensive otherwise); robes & slippers; reservations to a la carte restaurants (non Platinum guests cannot make reservations); a separate seating area at the beach buffet for lunch and breakfast; nightly towel replacement; and a separate private beach section with a separate bar, separate towel service, waiter bar service to your chair , private bathrooms, and bali beds with real cushions. On your balcony you have nice wooden loungers with cushions instead of standard chairs. You also get a free massage and a free lobster dinner. While we were there 4 of the first 5 days had heavy never-ending rain and high winds and there was intermittent rain for briefer time frames for the balance of the trip. The unusual amount of rain caused a lot of flooding which was a huge problem. Some of the rooms on the first floor flooded and there were some leaking issues on some of the upper floor rooms (including mine). It rained so much that the pool actually flooded with dirty water and had to be roped off and was unusable for more than a day. The big problem that developed was inadequate shuttles to get the guests from one end of the resort to the other. The majority of the rooms (closest to the beach) are separated by a large eco area which we had really looked forward to walking through to see all of the animals (peacocks, turtles, pink flamingos, rabbits, birds, etc) but was heavily flooded during the entire time we were there to the point where it was impassable. The only way to get from the front of the resort to the main lobby, the shops, and the main buffet at the back was by shuttle. Typically I rarely use a shuttle as I prefer to walk. It was very frustrating to have to wait for a shuttle. It was particularly difficult during meal times to get to the main buffet. One night we waited for about 40 minutes for a shuttle and I spoke to other guests who had waited an hour and a half to get a ride. The resort obviously needs to install better drainage and have a better contingency plan to transport guests in the event of flooding. For me the beach is one of the most important features when I'm choosing a resort. If you are a beach person too this is a great resort to choose in Punta Cana. Hoping for more favourable weather for future guests. If you have any questions I would be happy to try to answer them. :)
First time posting a review. Wife, son and myself stayed at Bavaro Princess Resorts from Nov 25th-Dec 2nd. Overall experience was 8.5-9 out of 10. Arrived at 2PM on Friday. Bellhop asked if we're platinum, I said yes... Boom off we went to the platinum lounge. Private check in! Nice touch because the line at main check in was long. Free private wifi also included while at the lounge..Cold towel and several cocktails later we were escorted to our platinum room. Service all week at the lounge was a solid 10. Now on to room. King Bed, jet tub, stand up shower, 2 chairs, love seat and extra single bed. Fully stocked mini fridge of Budweiser, Coke,Sprite and water. Bottles of Liquor on top of that vodka, whiskey and something I forgot. For all the reviews of Ac not working or bugs we didn't encounter any of that during our stay! Tiny lizards outside of room on patio, which the boy enjoyed. Room a bit dated... Room scores 9.5/10. The platinum beach and regular beach.. forget about it! Softest sand my feet have ever touched.. Blue water as far as one can see! I think I might of touched a slice of heaven! You will read a lot of how pesky the vendors are on the beach. They're there, but a simple no thank you and they move on.. They want to make money not bother people who aren't going to buy something.. Leads to my next point. Excursions! Never pay full price... They will settle for 70% of asking price! We did the parasailing and buggie tour.. Both solid. But I'll stick to parasailing next time. Beach scores 10/10. Food at the al carte restaurants was really good! Bella pasta easily one of my best Italian eats ever. Thought I was back in NYC. Choppin puts a show on as they cook your food in front of you. Lobster dinner point on. Asian joint good as well. Steakhouse ah ok... They pan fry steaks.. not saying they were bad.. just different. Overall a la carte restaurants 9/10 Dinnet buffets had a theme night every night. We didn't really eat all that much at them. But the items we did try tasted fine.Breakfast buffets had the same dishes every day. Eggs, tators, sausage, many juices, all type of pastries and bread. Buffets score 8/10.. Read so many reviews of food poisoning.. They had us worried. We tried everything.. None of us got sick. Didn't drink tap water, or eat any cheese or salad from the buffets maybe that helped us? Too many service staff to mention.. All were 100% helpful and friendly.. Seriously not one employee didn't have a smile and say hola! Staff 10/10. Different shows every night 7/10. Can anything be improved? Its 2016 get some reliable wifi in public areas! We really enjoyed our week at Bavaro Princess and already booked a return trip. Definitely would recommend it.
