Our OpinionThe BELIVE Grand Punta Cana is a solid resort for couples who are looking for a quiet and relaxing time in the Dominican Republic. The food items available are OK. Make sure to check out the Mexican, Gourmet, and Japanese a la cartes. Be sure to make reservations early in your stay. The beach is OK. While there are a few spots riddled with seaweed, there are more suitable spots a few minutes walk away. There are plenty of loungers available near the private beach area. However, make sure to reserve a spot early as it tends to get relatively busy throughout the day. OK entertainment during the day. The shows during the evening are a bit more entertaining. For those looking for a relaxing and quiet time in the Dominican Republic, this is a great choice.
The resort is beautiful. So many things to do and constant entertainment. Some issues at check in but was corrected quickly. The locals on the beach are very friendly and fun. The food was ok. The dance/activity and bar staff were phenomenal. Yafreisy, Mr mini me, Daniel, speedy, chicken legs, yolanda... all of them were GREAT! Make you feel like you belong.
We were in this hotel in December 2016. Very good service, beautiful territory, clean rooms, different and very tasty food. Nice animation team! Only one thing is not very good - beach near the hotel - the water is not so blue because of deep. If you go to the left from the hotel beach about 25 minutes you can find nice wild beach but it's not so fun as near the hotel. Thank you!
Before I begin, The Be Live in Boca Chica is better than this location. The Pool in Boca Chica near the beach looks better and is newer. I was there in 2012 and I was surprised that Boca Chica's location was in better shape in 2012 then Punta Cana's Be Live is in 2017. Now I've been all over Punta Cana and have seen many resorts. I've always wanted to check out Be Lives resort in PC after staying in their Boca Chica one. As for checking in the main lobby they are no gates at the door, you can check in straight to the reception. The old car you see in pictures in the lobby is not there anymore. They were many inaccuracies while researching this resort before I went. For instance the 24/7 bar is the snack bar at the end of the main pool. The nightclub is owned by a 3rd party and there's only a 1 hour open bar by resort bartenders on the right side of bar. Make sure you notice or they won't say anything to you hoping you'll buy a 5 dollar drink from the club. Also when I read reviews people said the club was on the second floor. The club is actually in the back of the casino which has no floors. As for the club again, it's built well. Looks good but it's a magnet for outsiders, which means. You will find prostitutes etc inside. Which I hate, reason why I go to resorts instead of hotels and having to go to a club outside. So right there if you're looking for a resort with a club, avoid this one since you're practically going outside the resort. It also gets flooded with guys from the "hood." So watch out for valuables like cell phones or wallets in your back pockets. Not recommended if you're coming with a family. During the night time here, get prepared to see a deserted resort. As everyone goes to sleep after 1am and the snackbar 24/7 drink area is a ghost town. As for the snackbar, it's only the real 5 star service and look you'll see or get in this whole resort. The snackbar is designed as a fast food joint and it will give you the feeling of being inside a McDonald's. Which I've never seen in any resort I've been to, so I'll give it points there. As for the food inside, you have many options, including fast food and healthy foods, such as salads and so on. The only plus this resort has on many others is, you won't go to sleep hungry. As for the resort itself, it is tiny. Looks bigger in pictures, but everything is walking distance. I'll say 6 or 7 New York City blocks. As for the appearance of the resort, the tile work on the walking paths are in horrible shape. Also the pools are in poor condition and has cheap white paint over them, instead of having tiles on them. If this resort got new tile work done. It will be one hell of a nice looking resort. But unfortunately, cosmetic wise it is in bad shape in some areas. The Gym is another 5 star feature this resort has. Very nice gym and it's design is top notch. When you first check-in your room you notice that the rooms here are nice. But after a while it gets repetitive and you'll realize these rooms are pretty old and were renovated. For instance the controls to change the AC in my room the unit was new. But if you put it on low medium or high it will not change and it will blow out the same amount. Which will make you sick by the 3rd night you're here. The auto on the AC works only when the room gets super hot. Amenities you will get two small coors lite two 7ups and a Pepsi. The typical big bottled waters resorts give will be there aswell. The rooms have many 5 star features but like I said, you can tell the rooms are old and were renovated to get updated but still feels old. Flat screen tvs, the signals are staticky and flat screens are only in the rooms to give it a current feel. No do not disturbs signs are on this property, which was an annoyance being awaken every morning by the maid. I literally had to say "sleeping" every morning everytime they knocked. After experiencing that this resorted started to grow old and boring to me. The buffet is the typical buffet you'll get in many low budget resorts. Alright food, sometimes long lines for meats that are being cooked by the chefs. I didn't bother making reservations at any restaurants because I see it as a waste of time since I go to party anyways. As for "Be Live" it's actually "Believe" so if you're looking for action and fun, this one is a miss. The only area that sees the light is the pool bar where seats and lil shows are held. Bar closes at 12am but they made a mistake at this resort closing that bar at that time. That's the bar they need opened 24/7 it will be a great place to meet new people. Also drinks are ultra tiny and cheap here. They will give you the typical small plastic cups here. Also good luck getting a spot around the pool and beach as many people here are shade hoggers and bench hoggers. You will see many unoccupied benches here with towels being unused while their occupants do who knows what. The workers here are legit, the only negative is the resort itself. I wanted to like this resort but the night life is just non existent. Wi-Fi is good here, never had a problem. Buying Wi-Fi for 60 is recommended. That's the typical rate you will get at any resort. I usually have great times and memories at resorts but not here. Like I said no magnet areas where it's set up where you'll meet a ton of new people. Animation here is alright, they're not annoying here which is a plus. With changes I will definitely visit again but as for now. Not on my list, far from it.
The resort was amazing we had a lot of fun. Excellent entertainment always put a smile on our faces and very friendly. The restaurants need more English speaking staff. Tia Mabelle was very friendly and very good with my children, my girls loved playing the her in the games and she was excellent with children always made them feel loved and wanted as well they felt safe. Once again we had a great time and will miss everyone especially the Entertainment crew😄
Visited for 7 night as a group of 3 girls. Must say the buffet was great with so much choice and variety, service with a smile. The entertainment staff were fab- always full of energy and never a dull moment- particular mention to mini me, speedy Gonzales and chicken legs as well as the rest of the team who made our trip unforgettable.
