Our Opinion
The BELIVE Grand Punta Cana is a solid resort for couples who are looking for a quiet and relaxing time in the Dominican Republic. The food items available are OK. Make sure to check out the Mexican, Gourmet, and Japanese a la cartes. Be sure to make reservations early in your stay. The beach is OK. While there are a few spots riddled with seaweed, there are more suitable spots a few minutes walk away. There are plenty of loungers available near the private beach area. However, make sure to reserve a spot early as it tends to get relatively busy throughout the day. OK entertainment during the day. The shows during the evening are a bit more entertaining. For those looking for a relaxing and quiet time in the Dominican Republic, this is a great choice.
Overview
The Be Live Grand Punta Cana blends Colonial and Caribbean architecture in a lush garden setting. Located on one of the best beaches in Punta Cana which is protected by a coral reef, it is an ideal spot for snorkeling, swimming and diving. Practice your swing at two nearby golf courses, bait your hook at the Nautical Fishing Club or try your luck at the Casino - entrance and transportation included!
 
Location: Beachfront, next to Nautical Fishing Club, 45 min to Higuey, 25 min from the airport.

nice hotel

be live is a good value for money hotel. We had a standard room and it was completely OK, everything working, good quiet AC, large room close to the restaurant and beach. The buffet food is with wide choice and good service. Also the beach is quite nice, the central part is lively with activities and as we are a family with a baby, we always found a quiet spot on the side of the beach. Only downside is a number of drunk customers, low quality of cocktails and dirty main swimming pool as it is next to the bar.

Pretty Good Vacation

Visited this resort January 15-22, 2017. Overall we enjoyed this resort. The beach and weather were wonderful, the food was OK but very repetitive in the buffet especially at breakfast, the bacon was undercooked but they had really great croissants and that fantastic Dominican coffee. In the seafood restaurant the salmon was exceptional. In the steakhouse, there was only one steak (skirt steak) that was part of the all inclusive, any other steaks cost about 20.00 US.Staff were friendly, hotel was always clean, lots of activities especially fun was the foam party in the pool, and one day there was a huge waterslide right into the pool.Evening entertainment was typical, but the Michael Jackson show was great.We had some problems in our room - we could not call room to room and we were travelling with my wife's sister who just had hip surgery, our sink leaked. Neither of these problems were ever fixed despite many times reporting them to several different people.We were in building 3, the noisiest because it is right near the pool and most evenings there was loud music right outside our window - building 6 or above are much quieter.

VERY BAD.

I chose your hotel when I had a connection problem and I discovered that I would have to stay one day longer than expected in the Dominican Republic. I made the reservation at 13:30 by the app from booking.com for iphone and immediately received the confirmation by email, with the reservation number and PIN. I arrived at the hotel at 2:00 pm and the front desk attendant named Henry said he could not find my reservation in his system. I showed him the confirmation of booking.com and he very rudely and disrespectfully said that as long as the reservation did not appear on his system that would have no validity for him, which was just my word and that I would have to wait, or Pay full rate of the balcony. I asked if he could not check with the responsible department what had happened since I had the confirmation number and PIN, or call booking.com and he simply replied that it was my problem and that I should call booking.com from my cell phone. After much stress, to spend a lot of time on international calls to booking.com I was able to check in 3 hours later at 5pm. The whole experience was then contaminated by this first negative impression.

The attention was very poor..

The people who has to be there for your needs is not prepare for it. Customer service did not give us answers and we were treated as nobody, we have been told, exact words " you are one of 1700 passengers", not important your needs.We paid for the VIP club and there were never all the things they offered. There was Gin but not tonic, there was Daiquiri but not Piña Colada, there were not enough deck chairs, dinning reservation were never chosen by us, we have to accept what they wanted..Room service terrible, towels not enough and waited TWO hours to bring them.

Disappointed

I, my spouse and two other couples recently spent 8 days at this resort. My spouse and I have traveled to 27 different locations and agree this is not on our list of resorts to return to.The beach is great and some of the beach staff went out of their way to provide great service. The grounds are incredible. Overall the resort food wasn’t bad, but many times it was served cool. I strongly suggest anyone going to this resort bring their own pepper. Every meal began with us requesting slat and pepper. It wasn’t until the 3rd day we finally bought our own salt packs taken from the stack bar. There seems to be only one pepper shaker for every 15 tables. Some of the female staff in the buffet restaurant should be replaced. Lazy does not even begin to describe them. One female staff member even used the table cloth she was replacing to clean off used cutlery and place it back on the table. Coffee is available with every meal, but spoons are not part of the place settings – during one meal, I had to ask five times for spoons to stir our coffees. Our rooms where located on the top 3rd floor. Our rooms where dated, dirty, all 3 bathroom ceilings leaked daily, and all 3 patio locks where broken. Two of our rooms even had large holes in the roof that we could actually see daylight. Many of the staff have their own cellular phones. A suggestion to management is that they tell all staff members that do not need a cellular to do their work, to put them away until the end of their shifts. When supervisors where not around, many staff members would be surfing on their phones. I can’t count how many times I found male staff members hiding in the bathrooms on their phones. I even watched one female bar tender, running to the back of the bar to surf on her phone she had hidden, ignoring guests waiting for drinks. Even the beach clean up crew members had their phones out. Two or three crew members would surf their phones, while one member swept the beach. The man hours lost due to staff surfing during working hours has to be huge, not to mention the fact they are ignoring guests to do it.Overall, we got what we paid for. (We booked a week before departing, at a great price.) If you happen to get a great deal on this resort, I recommend you take it, but be prepared (stay on the 1st or 2nd floors, bring pepper, and be prepared to be ignored by staff). I rate this resort a 3 star, and not the 5 stars they show on the brochure left in our rooms.
