- All Inclusive Features
Blau Natura is a smaller resort but with a beautiful beach and grounds. The area is notable for their greenery and wildlife. This is a quieter resort that does not have as many clubs or nightly entertainment as other competitors, making it perfect for both families and older clients. The rooms are well-kept, and the food enjoyable.
Location: Beachfront/Oceanfront, 50 minutes to Higuey, 20 minutes from the airport.
I checked in on October 1 for two weeks . I was travelling solo as I needed some relaxation and me time . Figured the best place to get it was on a beach . From the moment I arrived at the Blau Natura I knew I would have a great two weeks . I had read mixed reviews and was a bit worried but as soon as I was greeted at the front desk by Louis I knew I had nothing to be worried about . Front desk - Louis and his staff were very professional and respectful . They talked to me many times throughout my vacation asking how I was , if I was having a good time and if they could do anything for me . Juan Louis ( I hope I got your name right ) and I talked baseball scores almost every morning . They all seemed truly interested in ensuring I had a great vacation . Rooms- as I was travelling solo I had requested a room on the second floor in a well lit area . A room that would be centrally located . I got exactly what I asked for . The rooms were a bit dated but super clean . The ladies who cleaned my room over the two weeks did a great job and always left me with lots of water to drink , which I requested . My air conditioner worked great , lots of towels and I had lots of hot water . The room being a bit dated didn't bother me as long as it was clean and that it was . I didn't go on vacation to the tropics to spend time in my room . Pool - was great . However I spent very little time there as I'm more of a beach person . Yes it closed at 6 pm but I have never visited a resort in DR or Mexico that was open later than 6 . So it was no surprise to me . Beach- was amazing ! I spent everyday there but 1 as it rained . There were lots of chairs . Of course everyone wants chairs under the little huts for shade so if you want one , like every other resort you go early . Some days I did , some I didn't as there were big palm trees on the beach as well so if shade was what you were looking for you could always find it . I totally enjoyed the beach and the water was amazing . I had read where people had written about all the seaweed . Well yes there was a bit but come visit PEI where I live and you will see seaweed . It was nothing compared to where I live . And really .. how can we complain about it. It's mother nature . In fact the only reason I brought it up was to say a bit of seaweed in the water was no big deal and the beach had no seaweed on it . I probably spent 4 hours a day in the water . Bars - the gal who worked at the beach bar was great . She was so friendly and always had a smile on her face . I was only at the pool bar once and the guy working there was friendly as well . The bar in the main lobby had great bartenders . Raphael , Ramon and Jose . They were great drink makers and always had a smile on their face . Raphael made me the best coffee . Ramon the best strawberry daiquiris and Jose made incredible chocolate martinis. It was a comfortable place to sit and mingle or sit and people watch . Food- the food in the main buffet was very good . In fact I tried more variety of food items this trip than ever before . No complaints about food . I didn't go to the a la cartes as I didn't want to be on any kind of committed schedule for the two weeks I was there . When walking into the main buffet restaurant you are greeted by a beautiful smiling face . I took a picture of her name tag so I wouldn't forget her name but of course the picture didn't come out clear enough for me to read it . I know it starts with S. She made my every morning and evening with her joking around , laughing and conversation . Thanks S! Grounds - beautifully maintained . When I was there , they were doing a lot of trimming etc to ensure it stays looking so beautiful . So after spending 2 weeks at this resort I have no complaints . But a couple of recommendations : staff pour water for you when you sit down in the main buffet instead of pouring it yourself . ( I had previously had hand surgery and found the water heavy to lift and am not co ordinated great with my other hand :) and coffee in the mornings could have been hotter but I found a server who would bring me hot coffee each morning as soon as he saw me walk in . A big thanks to Louis and staff for making this one of the best vacations I ever had . I had a blast and the staff and resort were great ! See you next time ! I will definitely be back . S.C.
Do not waste your money on this resort. My boyfriend and I went here April 2016 and from the start it was a bad experience. Several of the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful, we had to wait 4 hours for a room once we arrived because no rooms were clean. Once we arrived to our "clean" room we noticed a pad on the wall in the bathroom, the bathroom door was broken (we had to physically move it to close it), and little bugs on one of the tables. The rooms are very dated and look like an old cottage. There were no other rooms available when we asked. The beach was small and there were people constantly asking you to buy things anywhere you went on the resort. The entertainment at night was boring and unoriginal. The only good thing about the resort was that the food was decent and the scuba diving (offered through an office on the beach). The whole resort is dated and has poor customer service compared to other places I've been.
We stayed here as a family for a Christmas vacation. When we first got here, the check in was ok, staff was quite rude but the lobby was stunning and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room had no AC and had a horrible smell. After a day of arguing with them, I found a wonderful manager. She was fantastic and changed our room. It was a lovely room. The beach was full of algae but apparently a bad storm had caused this but the beach was still lovely. The vendors were ANNOYING and even made their way up into the resort. Huge turn off. The pool was nice and kids loved it. The food was great. Christmas Eve was fabulous. The decorations were unbelievable! Animals were fantastic, all the kids in our family were so excited. Santa on Christmas day was a wonderful touch. Staff made a mistake on our bill at check out, had added things to our room which we hadn't even done (spa). Took over 45 minutes of arguing, language barrier was a problem, horribly rude. Made the bus wait for airport. 4th stay in a Blau and this was the worst for service. But over all a pleasant stay as a family.
My friend and I visited Blau Natura Park – Eco Resort & Spa for 7 days from September 28, 2016 to August 5, 2016. As first time travellers in the Dominican Republic, it is difficult to give this place a fair review since we did not experienced other resorts yet, but we enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to return to this very location next year because we know what to expect.Blau Natura Park – Eco Resort & Spa was for us a beautiful place, having everything we needed to enjoy our first stay in Punta Cana. The place itself is very well arranged. The rooms are divided by sections and each of them has 3 storeys. Surrounded by the tropical flora and fauna specific to this country, nature is what it makes this place so special. For example, while we were having our meals at the very decent buffet of the place, we were having peacocks and flamingos coming to us for some food which was really impressive. As smokers (yes, we know it’s bad for our health) we were able to smoke almost anywhere as there were ashtrays by the garbage cans available almost everywhere throughout the resort and those two were regularly emptied and cleaned by the personnel. The pool was decent too. The water is constantly cleaned. It is possible to have a drink (alcoholic one) almost anytime and anywhere on the resort however, I would recommend people to go see Ramon at the bar located down the lobby. As you get to know him while having a good selection of various beverages (alcoholic or not), you will find in him a funny and charismatic character, willing to please you. For example, my friend and I were not even yet sited at a table that our drinks were ready for us to enjoy. You can even ask him for drinks not mentioned on the menu and he will be happy to make them for you. As he gets to know you, he will probably offer you a Ramon Special to show you appreciation which is a super strong but delicious cocktail. Our room was cleaned everyday by a very nice lady named Fiore. She was efficient but more importantly honest. We had various valuables in the room and nothing has ever been touched. You can ask her for specific things and she will go out of her way to please you. For example, the fridge in our room was replenished every day with beer cans, pop and water. Since we do not drink beer, we asked her for more pops instead and you can be sure the bottles were there cooling. At the end of our stay, we decided to try the spa. My friend told me he has had the best massage ever which cost around US$35.00. For myself, I tried the sauna and the spa for only US$ 6.00. It was worth every penny. The site is very safe. There are security guards monitoring the resort day and night. The resort is not perfect though. There are a few things that should be addressed. First of all, the pool closes way too early (at 6:00 pm I believe). Even though they try to clean the beach as much as possible, a lot of seaweed is present. The infrastructures need an update. Our room was very nice and clean, but some mold was present in the bathroom and its door was damaged so we could not lock it. If they would update the place just a little, the resort would gain one more star in my opinion. The thing I most hated about Blau Natura Park – EcoResort & Spa was the many vendors allowed on the site. They tried to sell us various junks under pressure which we did not like at all. As a word of advice, even if you don’t have money with you or not enough of it, they will tell you that you can pay them later. NEVER but NEVER accept this because it could result in you being charged more or you being accused of stealing them. If you really want an item they have for sale, you have to negotiate because they will try to charge you something like 500% more than what it’s worth. For example, I personally bought a necklace for my mother and they were asking me $70.00 for it!!! I ended up getting it for $15.00. In reality, the necklace itself was probably worth less than $10 but they still have to make a profit to make a living out of it after all.In conclusion, I would say that I strongly recommend Blau Natura Park – Eco Resort & Spa for anyone on a budget wanting to escape reality for a week. Even though it’s an all-inclusive resort, PLEASE, ABSOLUTELY TIP the personnel if you receive a service as you would do in your own country. The standard salary in Dominican Republic is very low and the personnel will do a lot to please you so they can earn a little bit more money. It’s not a lot giving two-three dollars of tip for a good meal, a buck for one-two drinks and five bucks for the maid every morning. Believe me, if you do that, you will feel the difference. Dominicans adore receiving gifts too. Before you land, make sure you bought a few things from the dollar store with you to give away such as hygiene products and small kids’ toys. They will greatly appreciate anything you give them.We will return next year!
I flew into Punta Canta International Airport on Southwest Airlines. We arrived on Thursday anticipating a departure on Sunday. Our flight was cancelled after sitting on the aircraft four hours. We we loaded on a bus headed to this place which we were told was a very nice resort. This is not a place for tourist this was an extremely nasty, filthy, dark and unacctrative place that Southwest Airlines sent us to because the plane had no oxgyen in the cockpit. The easiest thing to do was send us back to Hard Rock Casino/the resorts we came from until the problem was correctived. Southwest Airlines failed. The sheets at this place were stained with blood, roaches dead, spider webs just nasty and it was not sanitary for tourists that came from 5 star hotels. Do not visit this place it is not a nice resort. This comment is mild I have uploaded pictures of the room that was given to us, which we did not stay in. Do not visit this so called resor! Visit Hard Rock Casino it was very nice. Not this place. I hope the pictures upload so that everyone can see.
