Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa
- What's Included

An amazing place for all adult travellers and couples looking for a fun getaway in Punta Cana. The Breathless is an amazing luxury resort that possesses some of the most spectacular views in the DR. If you can, book the Xhale Club as the location offers some of the best views of the beach. The resort grounds are lush, well-maintained and clean. This also includes the beach as you can walk for miles in each direction. They have great daily and nightly entertainment. The staff are pleasant and attentive and always looking to make sure you're having a good time. You might even spot a floating Sangria Bar in the pool! There are plenty of incredible food options including 24 hour room service.
My review is a little late coming but we depend on TA to pick and choose our vacations so I figured we should start contributing:-) This is a great adults only resort and the staff are all super friendly and want you to have a good time. They food choices are decent and there are options everywhere. This is somewhat of a party resort and they had live DJ's playing in the main building and at the main pool one day which was allot of fun. There are plenty of places to get away and relax also if that's what you are wanting. All the restaurants were great and we had allot of fun at the disco club a couple of nights. The staff working the pool and swim up bar were the best. We met people from all over the world and have stayed in touch since our return home. You really can't go wrong here, just get ready to cut loose & have fun.
Just home from a 4 night stay with 12 people at Breathless. We typically stay at AM Resorts like Secrets etc in Mexico and this resort is just above average when in comparison. The resort is smaller and nice but not top tier quality. What makes this resort is the activities day and night and the amazing people watching. We wanted a resort with more activity and sometimes we even got more than we bargained for. We always do swim-out rooms and they did their best to accommodate all of us being together. These worked out great to get to the pool daily and to even sit on the balcony and watch the nightlife if we didn't want to be right in the middle of it. There is a wide variety of age groups at this hotel and many couples and groups. The E team staff work their butts off day and night. Dance parties with different themes nightly (toga, masquerade, etc).During the day the activity pool is where all of the action happens. Even if you don't want to participate directly is just as good to sit and watch. Topless is acceptable at this pool so don't be surprised. They did have fun activities and good music here throughout the day. They could use more waitstaff to accommodate everyone. The quiet pool is like a night and day difference and you really can not hear all of the activities even though they aren't that far apart. Wait staff here were great! The beach is really pretty and they do a great job maintaining it. There are waitstaff for just the beach too.Food is a biggie for me. The breakfast buffet was huge and just what you would expect. The lunch buffet was large and always had a great variety of food. The beach grill was even good with typical American Food, (burgers, nachos, pizza, hotdogs). Restaurants - They say you do not need reservations but if you have a group larger than 6 reservations are a must. Just take some tip money to the concierge as soon as you arrive and they will arrange them all for you ahead of time.Japanese (Silk City) was our favorite and great for a group. Steak House and French restaurant were also very good. Mediterranean average. Italian not good.Unlike other reviews we never had to call to request more towels, housekeeping, etc. It is humid in the DR so your rooms always have the slight smell of moisture and clothing does not dry easily.OVERALL: Resort was above average but enough for one visit. If you are looking for activity you will not be disappointed!
My friend and I came to the breathless for one thing only , and that is to party and be taken care off . Everyone here from the staff and the e team have been amazing . There has been one guy in particular named Daygeris who has gone out of his way and beyond helpful . He had taken care of us from the begging and continues to .. thank you Daygeris
on arrival the lobby is gorgeous, staff welcoming. we were offered cold towels and a drink during check in. check in was quick with instructions on restaurant and directions on where we should go even though we got lost and had to ask one of the staff for help, which he was courteous and help guide us to our room.room is beautiful had an ocean view with tub on Jacuzzi on balcony. cant remember the restaurant we at but they were all great except one time the local restaurant we tried to visit was closed and we were stock with another one for the night which was disastrous, food took an hour, even appetizer 45 mins the manager came and apologize but by then my boyfriend had lost his appetite and we were upset, so we left.i would recommend finding out which day what restaurant is open so you can schedule as such.the french restaurant was ok i was still hungry when we left the restaurant, food delicious portion size small.hibachi restaurant the best love the flavour and fried ice cream.the pool and facility is amazing, entertainment staff the best. They got us to participate in horse shoe game and rum tasting which we got drunk on the rum tasting and my bf jump in the pool with his phone, lol thats another story but thats to say how good it was.night activity very good i enjoyed then we learn there is a night club at night upstairs to the lobby it was a theme night but the music was good, dancing great, drinks the best.beach was beautiful i am a huge beach fan and highly enjoyed the beach and the water, coconut water with rum, delicious drinks, and burger and fries lovely.we ordered alot of shots and extra shots for drinks so we had no problem with the alcohol and enjoying ourselves.we did receive complimentary breakfast in room and with champagne and orange juice last day stay we enjoyed it. breakfast was delicious also.so from my delicious comments you can tell i love my food and here was endless and enjoyable for me.i did a booze cruise which was fantastic.love the hotel and will recommend it to anyone.i stayed in April 2016
My husband and I have been to Punta Cana consecutively for the last five years in February. The past few years we have stayed at the Majestic colonial and the Majestic elegance. Breathless resort was recommended to me by a coworker and we were excited to try a new resort. There were many good things about this resort. Check-in was a breeze quick and efficient and our room was ready upon arriving. Immediately upon entering the resort we were greeted by a man who seemed to be like a butler, but turned out to be a sales person who tried to sell us timeshares for the duration of our trip. More about him and time shares later. We paid and extra $70 per night to upgrade to a partial ocean view room and I think all that meant was a room on the 3rd floor. I was disappointed on our room. It was dark and very musty smelling, but in a good location. Upon opening the fridge to get a water, the door fell off. As I began to put my clothes away in the small shelve area, that door fell off too. Both were fixed upon request. The beach was amazing, perfect crystal clear water with soft white sand! Most days we drank standing in the beautiful ocean. However, there were no available lounge chairs to sit on. I got out on the beach at 9:30 and all the chairs had been saved. I was really upset, I paid a ton of money to sit on the beach and there was not a single chair. People would reserve chairs really early and then not return to sit there for hours later. Waiters on the beach were plentiful and always available! The breakfast buffet was awesome and they had EVERYTHING! Tons of fresh fruit, pastries, breads, donuts, crepes, everything you could ever want. Same with lunch, lots of food choices for everyone! Drinks were not good, I ordered a mojito and a margarita on the rocks first thing and both were undrinkable. Frozen drinks were machine made and good. Champagne was fine but needed OJ to go with it. Wine was terrible. The party pool was a ton of fun with games each day that got the crowd involved. Night time entertainment was also good with lots of dancing. My husband and I hadn't danced like that in awhile! Dinner good at all restaurants, very typical resort meals. Best meal was Italian, worst was Blue Water grill where I got served a completely raw filet, couldn't eat it. But others were above average.STAY AWAY FROM TIMESHARE SALESMEN Now the not so good part. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a man who we thought was our butler or a friendly employee who was going to show us to our room. He then tells us he wants us to meet him in the lobby at 3:30 that day where he is going to give us $50 in resort credit and show us around. We went and he sat us down and wanted us to come to a breakfast the next day at 8:30. We agreed because honestly we had just arrived and wanted to get to the beach, not listen to his speal. We didn't go. Upon going the buffet for breakfast the next morning at 10, he intercepted us and asked why we didn't come. I told him we overslept. He then wanted us to come to a 12:30 lunch. My husband finally said we are not interested in buying anything and he was beginning to annoy us. He continued to pressure us saying we would give us $50 for coming. He did not mention the 2 hour presentation we would have to sit through and it wasn't just breakfast! He continued to hunt us down throughout our stay and harass us. Finally he said we didn't have to sit through the whole thing, just 25 minutes could we please come. This was our last full day. So we went, we needed to show both our ID's and provide a credit card. Then they wanted us to sign saying we would sit through the 2 hour presentation and then we would get the $50 resort credit after. We finally said sorry we weren't going to sit for 2 hours and we got up and left. We spent the rest of the day at Onyx to avoid seeing the salesman. This ruined our trip and we will not return because of it. Management needs to change this, it is rude, uncomfortable, annoying, and they need to take NO for an answer the first time and leave people alone to enjoy their vacation. Do not go to any 8:30 breakfast!!!!!!!! Do not buy into this crap!Go to Majestic Elegance, cheaper and way better!!!!!
