CHIC Punta Cana
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
My husband and I just spent a week at Chic by Royalton in Punta Cana and had a wonderful time. I travel at least twice a year down south and have been to several countries and all different chains of resortsI'll start with negatives (there aren't very many!) 1.The ocean is quite turbulent, which of course is not the hotels fault :)2. There was quite a bit of garbage coming out of the ocean but they were quick to pick it up3. Not enough ash trays around the resort, especially the pool areaNow for the positives1. Food was amazing! In EVERY restaurant. Our least favourite was the italian, you could fetch fresh pasta in the buffet for lunch/dinner. The Moroccan was delicious and not very busy (the lamb was the best I've ever had). The sushi was surprisingly good and the Steak house steaks were cooked to perfection. Even the buffet was probably one of the best I've seen at an all inclusive resort.2. We had just the basic room and it was beautiful and well located away from all the noise of the pool3. Pool was great, lots of chairs (but you need to get up early to grab one, beach had plenty of chairs open all day). The service at the pool was top notch... waitresses walking around constantly taking your orders!4. The staff.. always with a smile and willingness to treat everyone like a "VIP". Special shout outs to Derlyn, Johan, and Yafre. A special shout out to Julian (I think that was his name), a new waiter learning the tricks of the trade who had the most intoxicating smile and his service skills were bang on!Over all we loved CHIC and would highly recommend the hotel, we certainly plan on returning.
Love this place!! Our butler, David is amazing. I wish he could join us on every vacation. All the staff are very friendly, the grounds and facilities are always clean. However, David goes above & beyond to make our stay as comfortable, enjoyable & relaxing as possible. Definitely coming back!!
Still staying at the hotel until Tuesday, lovely people. Entertainers carmen frank Rolando roberto fifi Angela luis are welcoming and make you get involved in all the different activities, all friendly and don't bite, there always about during the day and the night. The entertains host the night life & I found that for me I enjoyed myself as it's music from my age bracket. It my grandmother felt a little out of place as she didn't know most of the music. The hotel is amazing, rooms are stylish and trendy. Every one if friendly & welcoming. I will defiantly be coming back for another visit.
Starting with the positive, CHIC is a beautiful resort--my husband and I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderfully kind hearted individuals who work there. Everyone who works at the Diamond Club beach area, they're absolutely wonderful. Oneydes with room service was always very polite & kept a smile on his face. We enjoyed some very appetizing meals at Hunter Steakhouse. Unfortunately, check-in is where things quickly turned not so positive for us. After beginning the check-in process at the front desk, we agreed to look at an upgraded Diamond Club room near the pool. The price we were quoted for this room upgrade was $100/night. We were very anxious to begin our vacation and wanted to get settled, so we agreed on the price and the room. We asked to leave our bags in the room while we settled the bill at the front desk. The young lady from the front desk took us to the lobby bar while she gathered the paperwork for us to sign. She then proceeded to inform us that the room would be $125/night & had my husband return to the front desk to finalize everything. After about 30 minutes of waiting for my husband, I decided to see what was taking so long. I got to the front desk area to learn that a young lady who's a supervisor named Anni angrily had our bags removed from the room after my husband inquired about the upgrade fee changing from $100 to $125/night. She said something like if you don't like the fee, then you can leave & she took liberty to have our bags removed from the room. Anni was totally disrespectful & unprofessional in her approach, and never even apologized. After this upsetting interaction, they had us both talk to a young man at guest services, he handed us a complaint form. He was very polite, but proceeded to give us "the manager is in a meeting" runaround. Eventually my husband was able to speak with a front desk manager who was able to get us properly checked in. While all of this was happening, the room was supposed to be cleaned. When we walked into the room, it clearly hadn't been cleaned. Our butler Julio had to have housekeeping mute the stench in the room & replenish some things that were missing. Another day when we returned to the room, the room next door was being painted, & the chemical smell of the paint was getting to be unbearable. It didn't help to open the patio door, so we called Diamond Club guest services to see if maybe we could switch rooms. The butler we started with was gone for the week, and after calling twice, the young lady on the phone told us that our new butler Angel was in a meeting. Their solution was to have someone bring a bottle of Febreeze. Needless to say, we never even met Angel. Also, there was one time that we couldn't get into our room & it turned out that the battery needed to be replaced on the keypad. Lastly, there was a leak in the ceiling over the bathtub. The ceiling just started leaking profusely out of nowhere. After calling guest services, they had maintenance fix the leak. In retrospect we should've taken heed from our initial interaction with Anni and the front desk. We should've taken ourselves & our funds elsewhere. The Diamond Club room upgrade definitely wasn't worth the extra funds. If it wasn't for lounging on the beautiful beach and some very attentive bar staff, CHIC would've been a total bust for us!
This resort is awesome. Small so barely any walking which was nice. We loved every minute of it. My husband and I went for his 30th birthday. I arranged with guest services to have the room decorated and a cake put in the room. Was suppose to get champagne but never did, wasn't a big deal, it was all free of charge. Also let restaurants know it's your birthday and they will sing and bring out a cake out. Ps: dont leave the cake on your room table or any sweets as it will attract an army of aunts, but that will happen anywhere. We went on a side by side tour through nexus. It was 150 per a person but totally worth it. Started the day by driving an atv Polaris through the jungle. The instructors were going quite slow so We waited a minute for people in front of us to drive up and then pounded it through the puddles which was messy but fun. Bring bug spray you need it. We were the only ones not getting any bites. Then you get to a lagoon and go swimming. So beautiful. Then went on a catamaran ride to a gorgeous beach on the Caribbean Sea side for a beach lunch. Lunch was delicious lots of options, food kept coming and they served alcohol. Then went swimming on the gorgeous white sand beach. Catamaran picked us up and we went to the sand bar about 100 ft out or more. Got out for swimming and drinks. So much fun. Then headed back to the resort when your all drunk lol. The people we met there were so awesome. Take it all in, even though it's all day, it goes by fast because your having so much fun. The beach at the resort is not that great or clean. Beautiful to look at but rough to swim in. We did go in a couple of times and it was fun but has big rough waves that suck and pull you and Exhausts you. The big waves bring in debris. We had water shoes so it wasnt too bad. Sand is golden not white. Lots of beach chairs and sun beds. Never had a problem finding one. Their is two big pools. One that does the entertainment and one with swim up bar. They are side by side so can see all that is going on. Pools are clean. Swim up bar closes at 6 and pool at 7. Sometimes you can stay later. Joel and yoce are the best bar tenders. They make awesome drinks and shots. Never an empty drink. They always have a smile and really seem like they are loving their job. And they remember your name. Absolutely amazing. Some of the other ones are miserable and made horrible drinks/shots. Restaurants were all delicious. Steak house by far the favourite. Don't be afraid to oder whatever you want. Never ate at the buffet. Didn't have to. No reservations or limits. Room service 24/7 and was fast. Rooms are beautiful, at first musty but goes away when the air is on. Mood lighting is a nice feature. Entertainment is awesome. Two foam parties a week at the pool during the day. They have different competitions during the day like an inflatable slide course in the pool or riding a mechanical bull also can join in on stage for some dancing. Entertainment/ Dancing every night in the lobby or just outside the lobby. A beach party one night with fire dancers. It was pumping. Excite night club that has good music and is fun. Also one night they have dry ice on the floor with confetti guns and balloon hats/ animals. Also dancers with neon masks dancing and a guy on stilts. Off the hook. One of the best trips we've ever been on. If your a beach person don't stay here, for everything else this is the place for you.
