Nice looking resort upon arrival. Nice front staff. Very nice room. Not much of a view. My view was neighbor across the path. Air in the room? yeah but not quite up to par. Always on and still cool enough. Actually woke up 3 out of 7 nights sweating. Had a safe in the room. 4 out of 7 days had to call for tech to come and fix it. hmmm maybe after 2nd time ya think they might have given me a new safe. Helpful staff, in each lobby to each building block. If you can get past the daily shtick about sitting in on a time share spiel. Buffet was good. Typical resort buffet. Ala Cartes? Steakhouse ran out of 10 oz. steak 2 out of 3 times I went. also ran out of desert both times. Pool was very nice. Some good fun around pool. dj? repetitive. Even at night. usually rap. Had a 70's 80's 90's night. Was fun until about an hour into it then the dj went all rap AGAIN. Got tired of hearing about "b..itches & h..oes". Lost 2/3's of the crowd almost right away. No dinner shows per say. Little nightclub on site? Not bad but no air. Just dj each night. same dj, same music. They pushed a "Beach Party" that wasn't on the beach. Guess what... same dj. Service around the pool was great. Made the best of the trip. Liked Punta Cana from what I saw and experienced. Would I go back to Chic? Probably not.
We, as a couple, did a 5 days stay, August 2017, All Inclusive, Adults Only, Diamond Club. Excellent experience, and totally worth!Excellent service! Garibaldi at the Diamond Club lounge is the best! Ensuring our drinks stayed topped up, and there was no dearth of munchies and intelligent conversation!Carmen, our butler deserves a notable mention for great service as well! The Diamond club Ocean-view room, overlooking the swimming pools, had beautiful views, a cozy bed, and a well-stocked mini-bar, with plenty of bottled water, beer and soda. The bathroom had a hot tub with sliding doors all around, a shower large enough for two, with a rain showerhead, as well as a regular one. There are rum, vodka, gin and whisky bottles on tap available, right in your room. The Diamond Club is totally worth, with the lounge open all day, with plenty of drink and snack options at all time, not to mention excellent service, by Gari! Diamond club also came with our very own butler, Carmen who was just a phone call away, for all our needs, at any time.Really enjoyed the Mermaid Pool (we used our own snorkel gear, for added fun). The foam party at the pool was fun. There were events going on daily, from morning until midnight, typically. The lobby bar held a retro night, which we really enjoyed with dance music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The casino was another fun hangout for us. The restaurants, Hunters steak house, and Vespa Italian served good food. Open to all. However, do require reservation. We just asked our butler. The beach is good, but def. not the best in Punta Cana. I do believe Bavaro is a better beach, but we have not been. We spent a lot of our resort time at the pools, and did not really miss the beach much. We did venture out to the beach a few times, to relax, and for a dip.Booking excursions thru the concierge was a breeze. We did a nightclub outing for Saturday night. In addition, a Zipline and Blue Hole excursion, one of the days.Overall, excellent service and great resort.
THE ROOM: We booked our trip through Jet Blue Travel therefore I don't know about the actual overbooking in the hotel as someone had stated. I do know that I highly recommend the Junior suite swimout the diamond club upgrade is a must . We had read earlier about the 3 buildings and which one was the best. I agree building 1 is amazing with views of the pool the center of all the action . If you are on the pool view you will never need a cabana but be ready for noise . We were in 1108/1109 right in the center of the pool party . The ocean view faced the bar of the ocean so it was beautiful and relaxing but will need a cabana if you want to enjoy the pool . THE FOOD The food was not the best but I'm from San Francisco , California so we are foodies ! In order of best to worst :Hunter's steak house : If you want the best cuts of meat make 6:00pm reservations they run out by the 7:30 pm seating . Also house wine is included with your meal at no cost as long as it last so by 7:30 your paying for your wine. VESPA: Appetizer - Meatballs Lasagna is delicious Tagine: Chicken wings a must ! Everything else is ok but come in small plates Pescari:We never went here , Because all the seafood at the other restaurants tasted like sand not well prepared . Seafood is not something you want here . There meat is great but leave the seafood to Mexico ! The Service : Garibaldi was such a pleasure to have around he was at our service anytime we needed him ! These workers work so many positions in the resort ,so give them extra tips they survive off of us . I had so many great servers I wish I remembered everyone's name : Francisco in the diamond bar at the beach . There was one server just walking by my swim up and I asked him for something at the pool grill and he stood in line and got it for me ! Yeah we tipped him well ! But I know they strive off trip advisor reviews so give them some recognition ! POOL/DRINKS : mamajuana - taste like black licorice Vodka: Watered down
This was a first time experience staying at an Adults only resort for me and my hubby and I must say it was one of a kind experience. Each employee treated us like family and that's exactly what we left feeling like. Their hospitality and kindness made us feel wonderful. The entertainment was one of kind. Jae is a hard-working and fun host. He really knows how to turn a party up. We were so sad to leave but will definitely be coming back to Chic. A beautiful, clean, welcoming, and all around amazing resort.
We had the most delightful time celebrating my birthday at Chic. The resort was small but plenty to do. The Entertainment group made the trip worthwhile. Frank, Jay, and Louise are awesome when it coming to entertaining and involving the crowd. On my birthday, I spent half the day at the spa. Please visit if you get a chance, it was amazing. Also, the work out room had nice equipment. The room was nice and the housekeepers were very friendly, especially Samuel, Mr. Solution. The food was okay, I have had better. Loved the pool and playing volleyball on the beach. Also, the arm wrist key card was a winner. Never a chance of getting locked out your room. Since I was celebrating my birthday the night club was my favorite hang out to dance the night away every night. I also met some amazing people during the vacation. Yes, I would go again. OH-IO
