Not our first time tot the Caribbean but it was a first time in the Dominican Republic and our first time at an Adults Only - All Inclusive resort. we had a Diamond Club swim out junior suite. The Good: The room was nice and the shower and jacuzzi tub were pretty cool. The purple accents looked good. Loved the swim out patio, spent a lot of time there. The bed was comfortable. The food was amazing. All of the people were super friendly. Everything is close, so there's not a lot of walking to get around. Beach was close and enjoyed the Diamond Club Only area's. Our maid and our butler, (I don't know what else to call him) were amazing. Now The Not So Good:. The room smelled very musty when we moved in, like a damp basement. Almost rejected the room because of the smell. I figure it was because we were in a swim out room. Fortunately the smell vanished not long after we checked in. Lots of little "attention to details" things that annoyed me. Things like the smell; the grill over the drain in the shower didn't fit and wasn't in place; some of the accent lights didn't work; Some of the closet doors and cabinet drawers didn't fit properly or function properly; the shower head clearly had hard water deposits building up and a couple of the sprayer bottles were corroded out. For a newer resort, I got the impression of a lack of general maintenance and repair. The pool for our swim out room was freezing cold and the patio is very slick when you're wet. There probably should be some sort of mat to help prevent slip and falls. If you do stay in the Diamond Club rooms, be prepared for loud music late into the night. I thought this would be an issue with me but it wasn't that bad. I was usually so tired, I was able to sleep anyways.Don't let my nit picking stop you from visiting this resort. This is an amazing resort and we had a very enjoyable stay there. None of those items are bad enough to keep us from returning, my wife and I are already talking about going back.My Recommendations: 1) Be prepared for all of the people selling you stuff on the beach and the resort employee's trying to talk you into other activities and programs. Learn to politely but forcefully say NO. The stuff the guys are selling on the beach, you can generally buy cheaper in town at the mall. 2) Tip and Tip and Tip. The employee's learn quickly who tips and who doesn't. Tipping will get you better service and a much better experience. We took $50 in $1 bills and $50 in $5 bills just for tipping and we ran out. 3) You don't NEED Dominican Pesos, almost everyone takes and even prices their products in the US dollar however, we did take Pesos and we found that we generally got a better price when we asked them for the pesos price. We exchanged at our personal bank before we left because we believe we got a better exchange rate there. Great Location, Great People, Excellent Food, You'll enjoy yourself. I can't wait to return.
We're currently staying at Chic Punta Cana! The resort is amazing! Great people, amazing activities, great food & drinks! Couldn't ask if a better vacation! The entertainment staff are by far the best we've ever seen; Sylvia, Luis, Fifi!
Nothing bad to say about this resort. Good food, good accommodations. The beach is what I like and it is great except for days which produce big waves and it is not swimmable. The staff are excellent and go out of there way to service you.Overall good stay.
We were at the Chic hotel for 1 week and really had a great holiday!Yes, we did upgrade to the diamond club and it was worth our money. We had a very big and fantastic room. A great bed, 2 balconies, a double shower, a big tub AND a fantastic butler. We came from the beach and found a warm bath with a heart of flowers :-)Thank you very much to our butlers David Castillo and Thomas Newton, you were always there to make our time the best you could!!!The beach area is wonderfull. Beautiful sunbeds, enough places to sit, in a more busy area, but also more quite places. You can walk for hours on the beautiful beach. The swimming pool was a bit crowded and always music, not what we are looking for but as said we were on the beach.Wifi was fantastic! The bars are fantastic, you never have to wait and you can choose everything you could think of and they make it with a smile. The bar in the lobby was also great! After 1 day they know what you like to drink and present it with a dance :-) In the lobby there are also very nice places to sit, relax and enjoy. The buffet restaurant was really good, with fresh lobster, fish meat on the grill. The sushi, italian and steak restaurant were also good. And you can have dinner in a private 'cabin' which was lovely! If I can give 1 advise to the hotel. Please change the house wine....it was really horrible... But ok, there was a good wine list for a fair prices. And the prices in the spa are really too high. I felt sorry for the guys that had to sell the treatments. So thanks to everybody at the Chic hotel who made this an amazing holiday for us!
Nice Adult hotel, pool area with a lot of daily animation ( Dj Booth) foam party twice a week, etcThe restaurants are very good, i can recommend the steak house! The beach area is okay but the sea isn`t that blue as it is at the Bavaro beach and the sand isn`t that white as we expected. The Rooms are fine with nice beds , all you need is there and if you love luxury then you can book a room in the Diamond area. The diamond rooms have a jacuzzi and beach or pool view. We had a normal room which was perfect....So if you are looking for a nice trendy hotel then this is the place to be.....next time we will choose for a hotel at the bavaro beach, only for the beach ...
