This resort was the moderately rated Sunscape Punta Cana but was reopened in Dec 2008 as a luxury Dreams resort. In keeping with the Dreams Resorts standards, the Palm Beach offers outstanding service, lots of activities and well kept facilities and amenities. A great resort for couples and families. Also try the sister hotel, Dreams Punta Cana.

We stayed here for 10 days in November and had a most enjoyable time. We did upgrade to the preferred guest section as a pool, bar and lounge without children suited us on this holiday. It was an extremely good move and I would recommend this option to couples travelling without children. The restaurants were as follows French and Seaside Grill very, very good, Italian very good food but uncomfortable if you ended up with the banquette seating. Mexican OK but not at all spicy. Asian not at all memorable or tasty. The main buffet restaurant we only used twice once for lunch and once for breakfast and for a buffet restaurant it was very nearly one of the best. Plenty of space between tables and freshly cooked food.The staff at this resort were first class mainly well trained and unobtrusive although there are always one or two who could receive more help. This was a much needed sun break before the winter sets in and was thoroughly enjoyed.
Upon check-in we were put in a room with a horrible view, odor and patched tiles in bathroom. We were shocked. We asked for a better room and felt like we were imposing on the front desk staff by doing so. We were shown another room which had a better view, but still didn't meet our expectations. Ultimately, we decided to pay the additional amount to upgrade to preferred club. This was an expense we were not anticipating. We almost feel that we were pressured to do this to get a room that was acceptable. We vacationed with another couple and we all experienced the same. We called the front desk a couple times during our stay because the drain in the shower backed up and ran into the bathroom and toilet area. We had to lay towels down to stop it from running into the foyer and bedroom area. They supposedly came to fix it, but we encountered the same the next time we showered. When we called the second time, we stayed in the room to meet with the technician. He ran water for a couple minutes and indicated that it appears the water is draining. He spoke absolutely no English and we could not get across to him that it would backup after a few more minutes of water running. We became very frustrated and just said thanks and allowed him to leave without resolving the problem. We just continued to lay towels outside of the shower each time we used it. On our day of departure was the most disappointing experience of the entire stay. We returned from shopping about 11:30 needing to shower, finalize packing and check out around noon. When we attempted to open the door, the key did not work. We immediately called the front desk for help. They said they would send someone right over. The nice lady with housekeeping even tried to help us but her key would not work either. After about 10 minutes, she called and asked how much longer before someone would show up to open our door. It was supposed to be only 5 more minutes. After about 10 minutes, we called back and was told that the technician would be right over. It was about a 20 minute wait before he arrived and was unable to open door. He left and returned with tools to dismantle the lock. He secured assistance from another coworker and they were still not able to open the lock. Our bus was to depart at 1:10 and I became very concerned that we would not make our bus to the airport. By now it's about 12:15 and I decided to go to the front to meet with our Apple representative to explain what happened and to express concern about not getting ready in time to catch the bus to the airport at 1:10. She went to the back to get a 'supervisor'. Unfortunately, I never got her name. The supervisor walked by me without ever acknowledging me and headed toward the room. Our Apple rep told me that she would be going to the room to see what the problem is and that somehow they would make sure we got to the airport if we missed the bus. I followed the supervisor to the room and within about a minute of us standing there, the technicians were able to open the door. They had the lock partially dismantled and indicated that they would need to replace it. One of the technicians was very nice and apologized several times for the problems. This is something that the 'supervisor' didn't do at all. In fact, she never once acknowledged me. After we were able to get in the room, she just walked away. By now it's about 12:25 and my wife and I showered and finished packing and the other couple that was with us advised us that the bus was there and leaving. I suggested they go ahead and we'd work with the hotel staff to get us to the airport. Since we had already missed the bus, we grabbed a quick bite and went to the lobby at about 1:25. Our Apple rep wasn't at the desk at the time, so we approached the front desk to ask for the supervisor and explain that we would need transportation to the airport. We had to tell the story of what happen to the guy and lady at the desk. They made a couple calls and told me that they could not help me because we had time to get to the lobby after we were able to gain access to the room. I disagreed and asked to speak to the supervisor and the gentleman indicated that there wasn't another female manager there and that he was the manager on duty. This was very frustrating and he simply told me we needed to work with our Apple representative because he could not help me. About this time, our Apple rep returned and we explained that we did not have sufficient time to catch the bus and we needed to get to the airport without this being at our expense. She went to the back again and surprisingly the same lady who was presented as the supervisor comes from the back, walks toward me and stops about 100 feet away to signal that she was calling a cab. She then walked away and Francis explained that a cab would be there shortly and the hotel would be picking up the expense. This 'supervisor' never once approached me to apologize for the incident. In no way was the malfunctioning lock my problem and only the housekeeper and technician apologized for the problem we encountered with it. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience and in no way did our experience match the comments on the many reviews I read prior to visiting this resort. We were close to considering the vacation promotion we were presented, but I'm so glad we did not if this is the type of service and problems to be expected at Dreams Resorts. This experience was particularly disappointing because we talked the other couple into coming to this resort in DR thinking that they would have the most wonderful experience ever since this was their first all-inclusive experience. We couldn't apologize to them enough. It will be interesting to see what type of response I receive from this survey.
This was my first time here in Dreams Palm Beach Punts Cana, and I have to say it's was Amazing. We all had a blast. They have great employees that are always smiling and willing to help you with all of your needs. Thanks Gaso, Luis P, Raybar from entertainment , Anely from the disco bar and everyone else. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Had a wonderful experience. Such a great entertainment team, great service, this is by far the best place to go to on your vacation. We have not yet left and we are already planning on returning. Thank you to the entertainment group 😍😉Gasolina, Luis Pawer, Darlin, Cesar, spagetti, Rayber the Waiters Felix Jose, Coco boy, Tito you guys made our vacation pleasurable- you guys are the best!! The food was delish. Whether or not you ate at the buffet or at any of the a la carte restaurants everything was on point and to our liking/satisfaction. The housekeepers kept up with our fresh linens and towels and made sure there wasn't a single need. I can not express how great this vacation was. If I could rate Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana with 20 stars i definitely would.
Came to Dreams Palm Beach for a week with my my boyfriend. We had such a great time! No matter what interests you have, there is always something to do, and most importantly the bars are open late. The food is great and there are a variety of cuisines that suites everyone. I think it's definitely a plus that reservations for dinner are not required, and they do not make you wear wrist bands! The staff is very friendly, especially Cesar and Clemente the bartender. They are always willing to answer any questions and provide excellent service. This resort is both family friendly and good for adults looking to relax and have some privacy in adults only sections. When researching vacation spots, we were looking find somewhere to be able to relax during the day and enjoy the nightlife of clubs and bars at night. This resort without a doubt exceeds those expectations. I would recommend this resort and we will definitely be returning in the future.
