This resort was the moderately rated Sunscape Punta Cana but was reopened in Dec 2008 as a luxury Dreams resort. In keeping with the Dreams Resorts standards, the Palm Beach offers outstanding service, lots of activities and well kept facilities and amenities. A great resort for couples and families. Also try the sister hotel, Dreams Punta Cana.
Location: Beachfront, 20 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport.
The trip was two weeks long and everything was beautiful the staff was great. There was a employee by the name of Carlos by the pool area who noticed my daughter crying because she thought she was lost . This employee had sat with here until we returned from the adults pool even tho she knew we went there but that is the kind of people who work there I'm so greatful for him to take time out of his work schedule to do this. Then to the food service side there were three exceptional employees who stood out there names were Jorge,Joel , and Perfecto these three guys were simply amazing they were very understanding to my daughters needs and my wife and I also there attention to detail was amazing they made us feel like we were back home with there service to us. I can not say enough oabout these four employees just that they are the reason we will return next year. The concierge by the name of Derluis Nava was very very good at accommodating my request he also was very friendly and helpful in my day to day operations inside the hotel I can't wait to deal with him next year.
Excellent vacation from start to finish. Our room was located in the preferred club which gave us access to a private pool and beach along with trouble free check in and check out as well.We were all very impressed with the selection and quality of the food at this resort. The variety of the food at the main buffet was excellent and included everything from fresh made pizza and pasta to fish, meat and vegetables. The service we received from Black Angel was top notch and we truly felt that everything we needed was always there for us. The service we received from Ricardo and Elvis is also worth mentioning. Overall I can't say we had a bad meal or interaction during the time we spent there. Black Angel was even good enough to have a lovely cheese and meat tray sent our room and it was greatly appreciated. In the preferred club we also had access to the Seaside Grill for Breakfast and Lunch which was nice as it provided waiter service and a set menu with many great selections. Christina, the hostess, was always very pleasant and friendly. On the beach and by the pool we received excellent and attentive service from Juan Carlos poolside and Juan at the beach. All of the individual I named made the trip much more enjoyable but I should add that I never had any issues with anyone that I interacted with at this resort. The room was comfortable and clean and was always serviced by noon everyday. The shower featured dual showers as well as hand held sprayer which made cleaning up at the end of the day an easy process. Even though there were three of us in the room and a roll away bed we never really felt like we were crowded but again the room is not where we spent many hours awake to be honest.Overall my wife and I agree that this is one of the best resorts we have stayed at overall. We have traveled to Cancun, Cuba, Nassau and Montego Bay and while some of those have come close I would say that Dreams has provided the most complete experience so far.
This is a long one but I want to make sure I cover everything! My family & I returned for the 2nd time (3rd for my parents) as we had an absolutely amazing experience 2 years ago. As much as it pains me to say it, I'm afraid the standard has slipped somewhat since then. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to preferred club as 'returners' & enjoyed the benefits of this, including both preferred pools, the adult bar where Emilio kept our drinks flowing (probably the most attentive waiter but sometimes a little too loud in his approach!) The seaside grill & preferred beach were also lovely & clean. The only issues were with our rooms, all of us (3 rooms in total) had problems, just little things like cupboard doors coming off, shower door wouldn't close, damp & a little mould on the ceiling, loose & ill fitted taps, towel hooks fell off the wall, balcony doors jammed & our air conditioning unit rattled constantly. For these reasons I no longer feel it can be described as 'luxury' as stated in the brochure. However repairs were carried out when we complained but it's clear that some money needs to be put back into maintaining the buildings. Having said that, the staff really made our time there special, going out of their way to cater to our every need. There were noticeably less staff there this time though, meaning queues at the pool bar, dirty plates not cleared away as speedily as last time & less waiters manning the pool & beach areas. The staff worked flat out & I take my hat off to them as it's clear they are pushed to keep on top of it all. The new air conditioning in the world cafe was badly needed last time we came, so that was a real improvement. Eliezer, the chef at the Japanese restaurant was amazing & a true showman, also the waiter there, Santos, added to our experience. Jose Alfredo was so friendly & his sushi tasted amazing. Jose kept us entertained in the Italian restaurant & Angelo & Eudy at the pool worked so hard keeping our drinks topped up & always had time for a friendly chat. Arismendy at the seaside grill was lovely & efficient & finally the 3 bar staff in the lobby, Elvis, Clementa & sadly I can't remember the other guys name, always put on a good show making our drinks. We missed the kebab cart & fresh fruit stand that has disappeared since the last time we came, along with some of the branded alcohol from the pool bar & were very disappointed that upon one visit to the nightclub (on my nieces birthday) a member of staff who first refused us the alcohol we ordered, & then when he did give it to us he rudely pushed it across the bar, spilling some! He then started giving us drinks that were not what we asked for! Unfortunately we didn't get his name but his attitude sucked that night! We returned a couple of nights later & Jose Alfonzo was much more welcoming & did a great job.We all discussed the option of returning in the future but agreed that until the buildings have been improved, we feel visiting the newer Dreams hotels in other locations may be better value for money. We have made some wonderful memories at Dreams Palm Beach & will remember it fondly, with the hopes of returning one day & feeling as impressed as we were the first time :)
Everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The choice of food and restaurants is very good. The quality control is perfect. We were 60 people for a wedding and everyone was happy with the resort and the excursions.
My boyfriend and i, along with another couple, came for one week. In fact we are still here and I had to write a review even before we left- it has been amazing! Our favorite part thus far has been the friendliness of the staff- in particular Edna and Johnny be Good, Caesar and the rest of the crew. Food is phenomenal. Ergie is a gem. I highly recommend this resort!
