Our Opinion

This resort was the moderately rated Sunscape Punta Cana but was reopened in Dec 2008 as a luxury Dreams resort. In keeping with the Dreams Resorts standards, the Palm Beach offers outstanding service, lots of activities and well kept facilities and amenities. A great resort for couples and families. Also try the sister hotel, Dreams Punta Cana.

Facing the Caribbean Sea, white sand beaches and lush gardens, Dreams Palm Beach boasts 528 spacious rooms surrounded by swaying palm trees and views of endless blue waters stretching to the horizon - the perfect setting in paradise.

Location: Beachfront, 20 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport.

Very Good Trip

Travelled here beginning of Jan. to attend a wedding. We went with our families and grand children. An excellent spot for small to teen age kids. We stayed in a garden view room on the first floor. Room a little dated but very clean and well maintained. We had a couple of room issues that were immediately resolved. All the staff at any level were excellent in the execution of their jobs and very pleasant and friendly at the same time. Beach excellent and pools were great. Drink service everywhere including beach, you never seemed to wait for drink service anywhere. Food was good in buffet and restaurants. Wedding was well done, with everything as well as dinner on the beach. Only went to theatre once, its indoors, so we weren't interested and left, Also Lobby can be a little confining especially with so many smokers that seemed to hang out there, All in all a good vacation and we would certainly consider a Dreams location again!

A week in and still surprises

Just arrived at the end of our first week and let me stay this hotel more than lives up to expectations. The weather has been magnificent (apart from first day where it rained all day) since then it has been 28-30 degrees every day.Clemente the bar tender in the lobby is fantastic and always provides a spectacle when preparing your drink. Pool staff are fantastic and will always find you sun beds from somewhere if there are none already. Waiting staff are great and always ready to get you a new drink. The maids are great too. Making your room up in the day and then coming around again for a turn down service (must point out we paid the money to upgrade to preferred so I can only comment on that and can't say if theirs happens for on preferred guests.)Lastly the entertainment staff deserve a special mention. They always have things prepared to do during the day and at night put a great effort into the evening shows. Luis the entertainment supervisor deserves a special mention as he supervises all the entertainment staff perfectly, and always greets me every day with "alright mateeee"Fully recommend this hotel.

Our DREAMS come true :)

There were 6 of us that travelled together, and a couple that met us there a couple days later.Upon arrival, a band and a large group of staff singing greeted us as we got out of the taxi. We felt like celebrities! They kindly took our bags for us to be taken to our rooms. During the check-in we were offered glasses of champagne and fresh towels. The check-in process was extremely quick and smooth, but this was a nice touch.ROOM:Our room was on the preferred side; it featured a very comfortable queen sized bed, bathroom, small walk out deck, and a HUGE shower. It was more of a shower room! It had 2 shower heads on the ceiling so that 2 people could shower simultaneously without having to share a shower head! We also had an in-room safe and mini fridge that was stocked everyday. The resort had daily housekeeping and a turn down service, which was another nice touch. DINING:There are many options for eating, and with the 8 of us having such different taste buds; none of us were ever hungry. Himitsu was the Japanese style restaurant. You are seated in front of a grill where all the food is prepared right in front of you. This is extremely fun! Bordeaux was the French style restaurant. You have to dress up a little bit, but it was definitely worth it. The décor is beautiful. You must try the surf and turf here! Portofino was the Mexican style restaurant. They had good sized portions. World Café was the buffet restaurant; it was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food selection varied based on the time of day. We always found something to eat here. I love fruit, and they definitely satisfied my love of mangoes. Barefoot Grill: This was right on the beach. They had great hot dogs, burgers, and nachos! In addition to all these options, the resort offers 24 hour room service. The food always arrived hot. I must note, please tip the people that deliver your food generously. While we stayed there, there were only 2 room service delivery people. And they worked almost every night and always had a smile on their face.POOLS:There were a lot of pool options. The one that we frequented was the main pool with the swim-up bar. That was SO MUCH FUN! The only thing it really needed was a louder sound system. We as a group ended up bringing our portable speakers to play our own music. Regardless, it was a blast. The drinks flowed and the laughter was loud. The bartenders are so much fun. BEACH: The beach was beautiful, both day and night. During the day the water was warm and beach was clean. They have servers that come right onto the beach! At night the water was still warm, and the sound of the ocean was so relaxing. Many times we would carry a couple drinks onto the beach and just sit on the loungers and relaxed. There is someone always on the beach so no one could take a quick dip in the ocean, for safety!SPA:Treat yourself! The spa is absolutely beautiful. I would definitely hands-down recommend the spa if you are looking to relax. We did a couple’s therapy, which was amazing. Then we went into a beautiful courtyard area where we did some hydrotherapy. I have never done that before, but it was yet another nice touch. ENTERTAINMENT:The entertainment crew did a great job of keeping the laughs going on the resort. We did not really check out the nightly shows, as we liked the atmosphere of the lounge to sit and drink. There was a casino, which we played at a couple times. There was a nightclub that was super fun to dance in at night!STAFF:Every single person was so helpful and always had a smile on their face. Some of the reviews state that not a single person knew how to speak English, but I beg to differ. All of the concierge and management spoke very fluent English. Any of the servers or wait staff could speak more than enough English to communicate with us efficiently. Also, you might find the trip more enjoyable if you try to learn a little bit of Spanish! Some shoutouts! Raul and Lenins of the management team were AMAZING. Thank you, thank you, thank you! They made us feel so comfortable and truly make us want to return again. Ramon of the Preferred club was amazing. We as an entire group loved him, such a sweetheart. Everyone was amazing; but even months after our vacation, they are still very well remembered. PREFERRED CLUB:It was not until our 2nd day that we chose to upgrade to the preferred club. The resort on its own was amazing even without the upgrade. However, there are some added amenities that made it totally worth it. Little things like a pillow menu and M&M’s, snickers, and mars bars everyday! The Preferred Club had a private buffet area that always had hot breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Preferred Club is also attached to a private adult only pool. The pool side service here is amazing. Hot food brought straight from the restaurant. They also had fun floaties for everyone to use. Preferred Club members were also allowed to eat at the Seaside Grill. This was a beautiful restaurant to eat at during the day. It had a patio that was steps from the ocean. Preferred Club members also had a private beach area where you never had to “save” a lounger. Overall, the resort was amazing. You will not regret staying here.

Consistent Quality - Outstanding Value

The quality of service at Dreams Palm Beach is outstanding and the reason why we keep returning. Extremely good employees that care, combined with attentive management that keep their eye on every detail, coach their staff continuosly and frequently do their rounds of the property to check in with clients to ensure they are being well looked after is the "secret sauce" that differentiates Dreams from other resorts. Nobody does this better than Hilario, a senior manager at Dreams and the keel of the ship that ensures they stay on course to deliver exceptional quality. Great resort

My family just came back from the week vacation in Dreams Palm Beach (DPB). Overall we all had a great time and I would recommend this resort to other families and couples.If you read a few reviews, you will get a good idea on what to expect at this resort. In our case we did see very inconsistent service at the main restaurant or our room was noisier than normal. But that did not affect our vacation - we still had good times. There are plenty of good things going on with this resort and I would not hesitate to come back. We did not pay extra for "privilege" status and we did not think it would be worth for us.When we arrived, we got an envelope with details about this resort. Inside this envelope, there was key shaped "coupon" for that you supposed to bring to VIP desk for some discounts/perks. We just threw this coupon out and no VIP person (timeshare salesmen) bothered us at all. So if you are not interested in timeshares/vacation clubs - just do throw this coupon away and nobody will bother you. Keep in mind that while you walk on the beach of the next resort "Be Live", you will be approached by other timeshare sellers, so just politely ignore them. I do not understand how other people complain about these timeshare people - if you do not show interest and are not greedy about small presents, they do not bother you.Our room was in the building 5 - that is very close to the beach (as I asked before the arriving to the hotel), but not preferred. The room was a bit outdated and smaller comparing to other resorts, but it was adequate for the family of 3. We asked and got the extra bed that was delivered and prepared very quickly. Our one complain about the room was that air conditioning was very noisy even on the lowest setting. The beach at the hotel was very nice. I was usually at the beach around 7am to watch beautiful sunrises. Usually, the first row of palapas was reserved between 8am and 9am. On some days around 11am beach are was so full that there were no enough beach chairs for everybody. There were lots of beach vendors, but they were polite and not too pushy - even we were often in the first row of palapas. Beach security was very strict with beach vendors and they could not come into palapas area.Absolute majority of our meals was in main dining area. We ate there all breakfasts and lunches and most of the dinners. Services was mostly good, but on some day were were ignored for way too long. What was unexpected to me that most of the main food was prepared on order. On one had this made prepared food very fresh and hot. But on the other hand sometimes you had to wait long time for your food to be prepared. Even such simple thing as pizza - every personal pizza was made on your request, but it took every time 5min. I wish they had few options of pizza (like cheese or Hawaiian) available all the time. There were always long wait times for Mexican fajitas / tacos because usually just one request was made at the time.Drinks were decent at this hotel. There was always bottled watter available if you wanted. My all family especially liked small caffee place that had many choices for coffees, frozen coffees, muffins, cakes and sandwiches. This caffee is such a great idea - we visited this place multiple times a day. As somebody said, it was like having Starbucks at the resort where everything was free.This resort has WiFi in the rooms and on the beach. WiFi worked well if you were at the place where there was not a lot of people. So in the morning (7am) WiFi worked great at the beach. But after 10am on the beach - I could not even get my emails to come through. Same problem - in the evenings wifi did not work in the lobby area. So clearly WiFi was not able to handle large number of people in one area. This was a problem for me as I had to go multiple times a day away from the beach just to check my email (work related).This was first time for us at the Dreams resort and we liked what we saw. We definatelly will stay at Dreams resorts in the future.
