Our Opinion

This resort was the moderately rated Sunscape Punta Cana but was reopened in Dec 2008 as a luxury Dreams resort. In keeping with the Dreams Resorts standards, the Palm Beach offers outstanding service, lots of activities and well kept facilities and amenities. A great resort for couples and families. Also try the sister hotel, Dreams Punta Cana.

Our Wedding resort

A few people moaned about the rooms, both here and at the hotel as they are a little dated...not uncomfortable or dirty....just dated, but they are in the middle of renovating them as we speak, we had no complaints with ours even though we were in the older type.Now the good stuff.We chose this resort for our wedding and we are so glad we did, the grounds are stunning and very well kept. The pools are spacious, yes pools as there are 4 (including the 2 preferred club pools). The restaurants are clean with a great variety, even the a la carte, we never struggled to find something...in fact it was more of that we did not have enough time to make our way through the menus as everything looked great but NO snails on the menu in the French, what's that all about !!!The drinks were varied too, my advise, mojito or caprinia (think that's how you spell it)...just what you need to refresh you.Now the staff....oh my god !!! All the staff are so friendly and attentive, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued, yes I know its their jobs but they go beyond that, always a cheery smile or "hola" with a "nothing is a problem" attitude and its not false, a comment I read on here previous to going !!As we walked back from or wedding vows the staff, especially the females, were clamouring over themselves to congratulate us with a lot of hugs and compliments and those were not involved in the wedding side, shop keepers, bar staff, cleaners, waitress's, everyone who saw us commented and they did not need to, they could have just gone about the busy routines.A few members of staff we would like to say a big thank you to as these are the ones who we had a lot of dealings with and made our stay and wedding such an amazing memory, but in no way are we saying the others were not amazing.Wilson - Our Butler (that's his title but I prefer to think of him as my advisor, my guidance) we asked a few things of him and I do not think he knows the word "no" or the sentence "that can not be done"Ambiorix - pool waiter. Amazing guy, not once did we see him write the orders down, not just our....the whole pool and never once did he get it wrong, well apart from bringing me 2 drinks instead of 1 but I will let him off that. Great guy, funny and chatty....he even promised me that when he is the boss I will get free drinks...not bad for an all inclusive resort.Franklin - pool cleaner, he went about his duties almost unnoticed but whenever he did catch your eye he was full of smiles and if you were lucky a friendly fist bump.Miguel - Omelette maker, even though I did not meet him he made my wife come back with a smile on her face with her delicious omelette, so thank you for putting her in a good mode to start the day.Vangie & Virgilio - wedding co-ordinators. We dealt with Vangie before we travelled and she was so good, reassuring and polite and the pair of them were so well organised they made our wedding go without any hitch and made sure we were so relaxed as we felt they had prepared everything in fine detail.Maria - photographer. Amazing woman, our pictures are stunning, she knew what we wanted and how we wanted them to look and she achieved....no sorry, over achieved our expectations and again, always ready to go above and beyond her so called duties, even if it meant running over time.The Coffee shop workers (Robin Hood is one member of staff, I kid you not!!) thank you for rescuing my day with your coffee or frozen drinks.Lastly, 2 special girls.Jeniffer and Nelly - bar waitress's. Amazing!! its hard to put into words there effort to make you feel welcome, always friendly, always smiling, always ready with a cuddle. again people will say "well that's their job" NO!! Its their passion. They took an interest in what we had been doing, what we were planning to do, they even came over to look at our wedding photo's when they could have taken their well earned break. Also and more importantly, always on hand when we needed a refreshment....thank you girls!Finally, my advise if your thinking of going, be polite, say "hi" or "hola" it goes a very long way!!!

Good resort

It's been a while since we have been to an all inclusive. The last one we went to, in Mexico, was beautiful but the food was horrible! The food here was great! Probably one of the best things about the resort. I will say that getting into the restaurants was sometimes trying. The second night we went to the Italian restaurant and waited an hour for seats and this was at 8pm. We didn't get seats until after 9 and then for some reason the lady tried to sit us at a teeny table by the bathroom. There were plenty of one seats by then and we had to ask to be moved. So just keep that in mind when you go at a popular time for dinner- you may wait a while. The buffet is great and totally acceptable. I thought the preferred level was worth it. You have your own private pool, lounge stocked with food and drinks all day, and a restaurant Open only to preferred members for breakfast and lunch. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were not that pleased with amstar- the tour people. They give u that paper to come by the next morning for your shuttle back to the airport. Despite giving you a time - we waited for over 20 minutes then left. I went to the amstar guy by the pool and he was able to do everything we needed, so don't wait at the lobby - go to the pool hut. The excursion we took with them was good, but they jammed us up at the airport picking us up too late for our flight and then not even leaving the hotel on time. We had issues at the airport and almost missed our flight because they didn't bring us early enough. When they dropped us off we had less than 2 hrs to get through a huge line at American and then through immigration. They had to pull us out of regular line into the handicapped line at immigration To get us to the flight on time !!The sea pro guys at the water sports hut are great. We took the scuba lessons with Francis, who was so patient and helpful. Then we went out on a dive with Eugenio. Both are nicest guys. Eugenio is a very good instructor, knows his stuff, and is careful. Our 10 year old went on his first dive with us and Eugenio took care of him like his own. Overall the resort was really nice and we would definitely go back!

5 days of sun & fun!

Weather was gorgeous, grounds were well kept and the resort was very nice. The service was great and the staff pleasant. We loved hanging out at Manatees during the day, Pedro was especially good and kept us entertained. There was a wide variety of food with plenty of healthy options. We enjoyed the cafe for espressos in the morning. My husband also used the gym each day and it had everything he needed. We took advantage of the 4 restaurants on site. We had delicious dinners and did not need a reservation. Another plus was that the resort is not far from airport. There were 4 of us ( two 20 year olds) and we had a blast. Would highly recommend! The sun is hot and the drinks are cold, doesn't get much better than that!

Dream come true

I have been traveling to Punta Cana for many years and have always had a great time. when i decided to try Dreams palm beach,i was completely amazed on the attention to detail the staff provided.It is a true joy to seeing all the workers and staff smiling.the amentities and overall property is absolutely gorgeous.Our room was very spacious and extremely well kept.The private dinner on the beach is a must and very romantic.Finally i cant forget a few key employees, Yordania and Clemente at the lobby bar...Johan,Donka at the pool. Edwin who was my waiter on the beach, Reuben who was our butler. All these staff members made my vacation one to never forget.. and a special shout out to Carlos Garcia for his attention to details to all our requests... We are looking forward to coming back soon...

Great experience

We took my 91 year old grandmother with us and this property was beyond helpful. While I'm not a typical all-inclusive traveler and typically stay at the Ritz I would recommend this place to anyone. The property is one of the cleanest properties I've ever seen and the staff went above and beyond every single time. While the food didn't blow me away the experience of the property and staff made up for it.
