Our Opinion

This resort is quickly becoming a popular choice for travelers to Punta Cana. The Hard Rock Punta Cana is a large resort with over 1700 rooms and 9 pools! It also has a casino, disco, shopping and a ton of dining options. This resort is an excellent choice for couple, families and singles a like. A bit more expensive then some of the other resorts in the area, but well worth it!

Gray stay! Can’t wait to go again!

Just came back from Hard Rock. We stayed for 5 days and had a great time. Traveled with a 4 yo. The service was impeccable, every staff made an effort to make sure they help you in anything you ask. Our room was cleaned daily, the only negative is beds and pillows weren’t comfortable. Queen size bed felt small and pillows were hard for my taste. Watch out for mosquitoes, I got bitten all over but they do give you mosquito spray which I realized on my last day.The hotel is enormous, there are go karts that pick u up every 10 mins. We stayed in building 5 A and were a step away from the beach and the main pool. We took a ride to main lobby but if u walk it’s about 10 mins depending on how fast you walk of course. It’s a kids friendly resort with a little play area on the sand outside of water w swings and slide which was fun for 4 yo. There are two areas w little slides in the pool as well. We went in February and the water in the pool was pretty cold, my son was always getting cold. Some kids didn’t mind the cold water. There are lots of other pools, the main pool has a DJ. This resort definitely has something to offer for everyone. Casino was great my husband went every night and won $250 and $350 on slot machines that were 1 cent.Lastly, the food was OK. We tried the market place both lunch and dinner and it was ok, my 4 yo is picky and they didn’t have much variety for him there, as well as toro, Mexican restaurant, and empanema. They do however have lots of snacks in the pool areas hot dogs, burgers, grilled chicken was good! Alcohol was everywhere! Literally every where you turn there is a bar. :)We stayed in other resorts In Punta Cana and after staying in hard rock we willbe returning only here again for sure. Oh and lastly, we didn’t know about hotel credit ! I didn’t read many reviews. I however got to use their spa w it that was $250 I only paid $40! Spa was pretty good.

Enjoyable tourist factory

After having read many of very negative reviews I didn’t have any big expectations. To my big surprise we really enjoyed our 8 days holiday in Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana. It is a huge resort with over 1200 employees, so if you are looking for something small and cosy, it is not for you. If you like to eat in different restaurants, have arranged program, swim in different pools and rock n roll, it is for you. Some cons:- it is difficult to get real time information, what is going on and where in resort. There is a printed program, but due to weather conditions etc there were lot of changes. Also the resort credit system seems to be more of marketing department’s sales trick than something that really exists and works. - sound isolation in rooms is very poor. The problem is caused by doors = you hear everything from corridor. If you have bad luck and get neighbors, who like to party and come to their rooms at 3 am singing, laughing and yelling, you will certainly wake up. Also it you have a door to adjoining room, you hear literally everything, what is going on in that room (and vice versa)- when it is raining, all the paths, corridors etc get extremely slippery. There are warnings all over, but you must be careful. - bathroom is huge, but there are only fixed showers (no hand held showers). I guess this is US standard, but frustrates europeans.- live animals (birds, monkeys etc) being used for shows, photographing etc. - if you go to pools after 10 am, all the sun beds are “in use” meaning reserved by towels (negative side of free beach towels, I guess)Some pros - rooms are big and clean- you get service with smile, especially housekeeping and minibar team members were friendly and effective despite of their long working hours- lots of maintenance work going on, which shows that resort is taken care for. - you can find peaceful spots in resort Last but not least: Food. There is a huge variety of restaurants, but you find a lot of same stuff in all of them. Longest waiting time for a la carte was 10 minutes, so it was effective. My favorites were Ipanema, a nice mixture of buffet and grilled meat served to tables, and all three menu options of Zen. For an all inclusive resort I consider food quality to be average plus, but I would prefer quality to quantity. Some of the portions are extremely big and end up with lots of food going to trash. Special thanks to my favorite girl Juana, who worked in pool bar near to building 5B. She is one of those, who makes you feel at home by remembering you in a crowd.

Cannot wait to return again someday!

This property definitely has it all. Food is excellent, property is pristine, staff is great and the drinks are mighty cold. Throw all of this packaged with an amazing beach, you have yourself an amazing experience. The hotel and rooms are very nice with a fully stocked mini bar. Turndown service every night was an added bonus. The pool staff made sure to always have the crowd involved and the waiters worked so hard throughout the day making sure that you never had an empty drink. In addition, the golf course is amazing. I had a great time playing a round. For the very first all-inclusive resort that I have been to, this definitely set the bar high. I have been to others since the Hard Rock and they just don't stack up.

Very Disappointed particularly in the food.

The property is quite large and some rooms are quite a distance from beach and some pools and restaurants. Infrequent tram service. My biggest disappointment was the food. No where near as good as Riviera Maya. Aside from Toro and Ipanema the food in the restaurants was poor. Pizza was good though. Food was generally cold and service was slow. Even at the breakfast buffet. Bacon just out of the kitchen was cold. Sausage always cold and hard. Limited outdoor dining even for lunch. Frequently needed to ask staff twice for things. Golf course was in very good shape. Spa was nice.
