IFA Villas Bavaro

Our OpinionThe IFA Villas Bavaro is a good resort for those couples looking to to relax in Punta Cana. The resort is very big, so this is great for those who don't mind walking around to explore the resort. However, they do offer shuttle services. The villas are the farthest from the beach and main resort area, so try to request and book rooms in the village area. The rooms might be a bit outdated. However, unless you're looking to spend a majority of your time indoors, it doesn't necessarily take away from the experience. There are plenty of buffet items to choose from and four a la carte restaurants. Good staff. Be advised that there is a charge if you're wanting to do a late check-out.
Location: Beachfront, 45 minutes to Higuey, 20 minutes from the airport.
Staff working in the reception, restaurants, etc. were all friendly. A lot of them spoke English and tried hard to communicate if they weren't too good with the language. Check in was good because of our later flight. Our room was one of the superior rooms in the newer buildings, overall, our building was in a good location. In between one of the main pools and the theatre, and close to the beach as well. Amazing AC in the rooms! Only downside to our room was our toilet stopped working and whatever they did to it didn't fix it. Groundskeeping was really good, workers were out every day cleaning the grounds. A little thrown off from the jacuzzi's not being warmer water but the beach made up for it. Although it had little swimming area, there was entertainment and music and good vibes all around. The Disco nightclub was good, really depends on the night you go on. We noticed it's not just people from the resort that were there some nights, which we weren't sure how that worked. The resort was clean and very nice and hardworking, although their was construction, it never really bothered us. Good price, good room, good resort and entertainment, great staff with customer service, very very good trip!
I had very high hopes for this hotel and this was my 29th trip to Dominican Republic. I guess I am a very trusting person but I had 520 dollars stolen from my room. If it was the cleaning staff they didn't even clean my room the day it was taken. On my check out I reported it and they didn't care.
IFA Bavaro Resort & Spa is an All-Inclusive in Punta Cana. The resort is a good moderately priced resort with great potential. During my visit the hotel was undergoing a great deal of renovations that when finished will definitely improve the value to its guests. IFA is a good sized resort with 652 rooms currently. Once the renovations are finished they will have 650 with some being close to the ocean. Also under renovation are the tennis courts, walkways and older buildings. What is Really GoodThe best thing about the resort is the beach. IFA Bavaro has wonderful beach space with plenty of sand, lots of beach loungers and lined with palm trees to provide shade. The resort provides free WiFi at 2 locations. Paid Internet service is also available for $40 for the week. The $40 gets you high speed WiFi all around the resort including the beach. The resort offers 5 dinner restaurants to choose from. Those options include Japanese, Mexican, Caribbean, Italian and a Buffet. One of the shows we saw was a Michael Jackson tribute. The show features the major hits, lots of energy and amazing costumes. Another very nice thing at this resort is the shopping. The resort has a shopping plaza with multiple stores including a boutique and pharmacy. The IFA Bavaro resort has an ideal location. It is close to the Punta Cana Airport. Major shopping centers surround the resort. Each, less than 3 blocks in either direction. The shopping centers are literally within walking distance. The resort itself has nightly shows and a disco; however the premiere entertainment club Coco Bongo is less than 10 minutes away. The resort is in the Bavaro Community and is close to its sister hotels, resorts and villas. This resort is good for couples, friends, groups and families (with small children). If you have teenagers I hope they like the beach and pool or be prepared to take them on lots of excursions, unwise they they may be board after 3 days.
I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Bavaro in The Dominican Republic. The IFA Villas resort was amazing. The grounds are beautiful. We stayed in a standard bungalow which was great. It was comfortable, spacious, clean. Everything we needed. There was a wide choice of places to eat & drink. 4 a la carte restaurants which you needed to book, but no restrictions on how many times you go there. Our favourite was the Colibri, The Buffet Restaurant. The food was always delicious, with lots of choice. The staff were so friendly & served us so well. We also enjoyed visiting the pizzeria at lunchtime for a snack. Excellent service again & staff were very welcoming. We enjoyed The Dominican bar to cool off, the staff their again so good at keeping our drinks topped up & always ready to chat. we had fun practising our Spanish with them. The bar in the middle of the pool near the flamingos was also another good place to go when we were at the pool or after dinner. We used the larger pool by the flamingos as you could get a good swim there if you went all the way round. It was also good for the little ones as there were shallow pools to keep them safe & fountains to cool off in. was amazing & clean.Lots of sun beds & trees for shade. The weather was fantastic for the two weeks over Easter we were there apart from one day where it torrented down until early evening. But we were still able to get about as the hotel provides buggies to shuttle you around. The drivers again were friendly & helpful. They always greeted us when they saw us out & about. We found all the staff around the hotel so lovely. They were also great with any children there, making a fuss of them. Was so nice to see. Nothing was too much trouble. Even when they were at their busiest the staff were excellentThe beach was amazing, we took a long walk along it every morning, this took almost two hours there & back ( a good way to walk off the delicious breakfasts). The walk was so popular it was really busy even at 9 in the morning. There was a gym which my husband used most days which was well maintained.we loved this holiday so much that we will definitely return & to the same hotel as they made our holiday so special. It was also great to see all the wildlife around. The flamingos had their own special area but the peacocks & chickens were able to walk about freely. You could be by the pool & the peacocks would come by you. Was brilliant. Cant wait to return. It was our best holiday ever, we felt so rested.
Lovely hotel defo go for the upgrade lovely rooms.Great food selection a few restaurants to choose from lovely beach with staff patrolling to make your stay safe and enjoyable.Pools were lovely and the grounds we ventured to local shopping precinct EXPENSIVE even sweets were expensive but nice walk the Dominican people were very nice and helpful.Do the trips if you can see the real culture of the Dom Rep it will amaze you would go back DID GO BACK and will again one day.
