IFA Villas Bavaro
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
Our OpinionThe IFA Villas Bavaro is a good resort for those couples looking to to relax in Punta Cana. The resort is very big, so this is great for those who don't mind walking around to explore the resort. However, they do offer shuttle services. The villas are the farthest from the beach and main resort area, so try to request and book rooms in the village area. The rooms might be a bit outdated. However, unless you're looking to spend a majority of your time indoors, it doesn't necessarily take away from the experience. There are plenty of buffet items to choose from and four a la carte restaurants. Good staff. Be advised that there is a charge if you're wanting to do a late check-out.
Location: Beachfront, 45 minutes to Higuey, 20 minutes from the airport.
Photos are very deceiving, property is very dated and the pool was falling apart. Bathroom was extremely unhygienic and room was not pleasant. Experience overall felt like a hostel, not a hotel. Wouldn't recommend
We booked this resort at last minute and read the reviews after. we really got scared after reading all the bed reviews however we couldn't cancel so we took a chance And let me tell you.what a surprise, starting from the resort it is little bit bigger but so convenient it is 5 min walk all around and you have golf cards rides to the beach every 2 ,3 min When it comes to employees of the resort they absolutely fantastic, from checking inn to checking out ,friendly ,helpful and always willing to go extra mile We traveled all over the world ,ifa resort offers you so many thing for the money you spent.Great food fantastic restaurants and it is no true that you have to stand in long lines to book a restaurant. It took me 5 min in the morning you have to make sure you there at 9 am . When it comes to food ,buffet for breakfast offers you omlet stations veraity of fresh fruits wholel display bakery fresh juices cold cuts and so much moreLunch you have all the vegetables grill station hamburgers steaks pork chicken pastas and desserts are awesome from tiramisu to ice cream stationFor dinner you can book a restaurant or eat at the buffeNext to the main pool they have Italian pizza place you can grab and goGreat coffee at cafe dominicana .right next to it great little shops to buy necessities and souvenirs and at night amazing shows , excellent animation team . At 11 there is a Dickson club go and dance away till 3 amYour vacation is what you make it but remember that average salary in dominan republic is 150$ a month and despite that everything is all inclusive please make sure you bring plenty of singles they appreciate that a lot .About the rooms we stayed in older section so beds weren't that comphy ,but we still enjoyd itBut they have whole new section of buildings with upgraded roomsThe security of the resort is amazing during the day and night and we felt very safe to leave out teenage daughter wondering around till morning Every entrance of the building has cameras and guards during day and night making sure that your family is safe Don't forget to check out flea marked right on the beach good prices and don't worry if you tell them you just looking they will not hassle youDrinks are amazing they give you as much alkohol as you want There were a lot of seaweeds on the beach, but they trying to clean it up and I think it is time of the year because last year I was there in February and there was noneOver all we loved it and we enjoyed every second of it Special thanks to Victor who was checking us inn and Paola Piera ,Barbara and many more I wish I could remember more names ,they were such a wonderful people
Lets start with some positives. The Bar staff, the waiting on staff and the animation team really do work hard to make sure your holiday is comfortable and fun. The staff cleaning the buffet restaurant and pool areas also work really hard keeping the areas clean and do it with a smile on their faces even though there are thoughtless holiday makers who think it's acceptable to throw cups and cigarette or cigar ends on the floor and leave it or even take them in the pools so there's ash, cups and cigarette or cigar ends floating around. Disgusting. Please put them in the bins guys there's plenty of them around. The hotel is lovely and the gardens are neat, we were even offered fresh coconuts by the gardeners (I don't like coconut but it was a lovely gesture). The food available was ok but I really am a fussy eater so I try not to comment on that as that's my problem not the hotel's. Put it this way you won't starve. The beach was amazing and there are snorkels, pedalos and kayaks available to rent free of charge I'm putting that in there as we only found out 2 days before the end of our holiday that these were available and it's something we like doing. There's a free bus to the local shopping centres but be warned it's very expensive to shop as are the excursions. Shop around with the staff in the lobby. Now for the negatives. Our room was terrible. It was dirty, we had remains of previous occupants still there when we went in. To say it needed a lick of paint was quite an understatement. There was a glass brick wall separating the shower cubicle from the bedroom. We had my 16 year old daughter with us and thought it was hardly appropriate and when we asked about other available rooms we were told to either pay an extra $75 per night (we had 13 nights left) or put the T.V on. We went to the welcome meeting where the rep told us a little bit about the area but mainly focused on booking trips through him and nobody else so when he saw us booking through someone working in the lobby he actually told us off like naughty children in front of the whole lobby. Embarrassing to say the least, he was rude, arrogant and unhelpful. The air con was faulty. It made our clothes damp and smelly. it caused damp on the walls and ceiling and my daughters pillow had black mould on it. We reported it 3 times before someone came at 11pm to look at it and tell us there was nothing wrong with it. The maid changed our sheets in the first 3 days of us being there but that was all and we were lucky if the room got a little sweep. We sometimes were left 1 towel between 3 of us sometimes 2 towels if we were all in the room when she came so it was a good job we took our own. We were really disappointed. The other reviews are really quite accurate and although we will visit Punta Cana again it won't be at IFA Villas.
After reading mixed reviews I made the terrible decision to book anyway. I was hoping ppl were wrong. Well, they weren't. The room was covered in ants. The staff does not speak any English at all. They will not give you towels and wash clothes, so most days you're using hand towels to wash. I finally started going into the hallway closet to get my own towels. The shows are super boring. Pulling ppl from the audience to dance each night was ok but the actual show was boring. All in Spanish so after one or two songs, you are ready for bed. The food is bad. My son got very sick from the Chinese restaurant. The flies cover the fruit bar so you don't want it. The birds eat the bread and the line to reserve dinner reservations is at least 1 hour each day. The staff never answer the front desk phone and the daily activities were worse that 3rd grade summer camp. I'm super disappointed that this was my first and now only experience inDR
My stay lasted 3 hours. I arrived here just after 3pm and checked into a room with double beds, I reserved a King for my wife and I. Returned to the front desk for a different room and that's when it went down hill. The rude, arrogant, careless front desk staff said, king beds are only request and their job is to provide a room thats it. It's Expedia's fault. After 5 minutes of arguing I was told a King would be available in 45 minutes. 45 minutes later I get my king bed in a HOTT, outdated, half cleaned room and non working T.V. because the screen was cracked. I walked back to the front desk and complained again and was told someone would have everything taken care of in 25 minutes. After 50 minutes with no service I called Expedia and got an immediate refund and went to another resort. Based on conversation with taxi drivers, excursion staff and staff at other venues I visited, this is typical at this place and it's a Low budget resort. STAY AWAY! Management save yourself embarrassment and don't respond.....
