Our Opinion
The IFA Villas Bavaro is a good resort for those couples looking to to relax in Punta Cana. The resort is very big, so this is great for those who don't mind walking around to explore the resort. However, they do offer shuttle services. The villas are the farthest from the beach and main resort area, so try to request and book rooms in the village area. The rooms might be a bit outdated. However, unless you're looking to spend a majority of your time indoors, it doesn't necessarily take away from the experience. There are plenty of buffet items to choose from and four a la carte restaurants. Good staff. Be advised that there is a charge if you're wanting to do a late check-out.
Located on the marvelous Bavaro Beach coast, the IFA Villas Bavaro features comfortable rooms set within charming villas. Surrounded by a stunning landscape and boasting a wide range of facilities, restaurants and services especially designed to ensure an unforgettable stay! Hotel complex includes IFA Bavaro Ocean, IFA Bavaro Village and IFA Villas Bavaro.

Location: Beachfront, 45 minutes to Higuey, 20 minutes from the airport.

Amazing place over expectations

First of all, we are a young couple (25 yo each) who spent 7 days in Punta Cana. From the beginning we were impressed by the size of the Ifa complex. It is a big resort with gardens, 2 swimming pools, jacuzzys, every 3 min walk you will find a new bar. Employees are very nice and respectful. We didn't feel like anyone wanted tips as we read on forums before. They were actually very polite and their joy was contagious. They were always smiling, dancing and singing. The rooms are all new, each room has 2 beds (double). The room service is great, changing towels every day. It is for real an all inclusive experience. You will find flamingos in one garden inside the resort, you will step through a mini palm trees forest on your way to the beach, you even have a night club. You will find food and drinks in the resort 24h so don't panic if you missed lunch. During weekends there are more entertaining activities: pool parties, live band concerts, night club. I'm rating this 4 stars instead of 5 because the food was not at the highest standards. It is various food and plenty of it but poor quality. As a minus, I saw dishes from the lunch buffet at the a la carte restaurants, where you should make a reservation. I expected to find more fine dishes at a la carte dinner, but they used the leftovers from lunch mainly. This is the only minus. I hoped for amazing exotic fruits, delicious sea fruits, but none of these were at Ifa. Don't expect great food, but expect to get fat :)

Not so great

When I checked in and got to the room I notice that there is no tissue box. I called housekeeping several times and finally I went to front desk and asked for box of tissue, I was told that the tissue is not included!!!!When I tried to book the restaurant for dinner I was to that I need to book it in the morning so I went down in the morning and saw about 150 people in line to book for very limited seat. I was in line for about an hour so I could book and had to do that every day.

Our stay at IFA was magical, I can't describe how wonderful its workers are; Bartenders, waiters, entertainers, maids; I want to highlight especially the work of Jeffrey (Monkey), Francisco (spaghetti), Daniel Cruz (bartender), Gerald (bartender), Dulce our maid; We are very grateful for your service. The buffet of the resort has a very good variety of food, for all tastes from fruit, vegetables to prepare your salads, pasta, to people preparing yours own omelets, waiters are always attentive in changing your silverware in keeping your drinks full; Delicous restaurants! My favorite was Carribean, the carpaccio and the center of pork captivated me. The resort is very clean in the mornings you could see how they are in charge of washing and disinfecting all trails and practically all the places of the resort. I want to relive the experience. I will be back!!☺️☀️

It was just okay....

Resort was just okay. When we were there, there was a lot of construction on the site close to the pizzeria and pool. We tried not letting it get to us but at the end of the day, we were on vacation and did not want to hear all that noise. The staff were miserable. I know how hard they work and I respect that but they were just so miserable and rude at this resort. I've stayed in Punta Cana many times and this was a first. The food was just all right. I always found something to eat but my partner hated the food and always had a hard time finding something to eat. The drinks were also horrible. Everytime we would ask for a cappocino, the machine was broken. The beer was from a bottle that they wouldn't even cover before putting back in the fridge. The beach was beautiful and always clean. It's where we spent most of our day. No complaints there. The rooms were very clean, our maid was a sweetheart. The washroom, toilet area, however was so tiny. You barely had any room in there and my knees would touch the brick wall. I ended up having an injury due to it.Overall, I would rate this hotel as a 3 star. And I would not come back.
