Our Opinion
The IFA Villas Bavaro is a good resort for those couples looking to to relax in Punta Cana. The resort is very big, so this is great for those who don't mind walking around to explore the resort. However, they do offer shuttle services. The villas are the farthest from the beach and main resort area, so try to request and book rooms in the village area. The rooms might be a bit outdated. However, unless you're looking to spend a majority of your time indoors, it doesn't necessarily take away from the experience. There are plenty of buffet items to choose from and four a la carte restaurants. Good staff. Be advised that there is a charge if you're wanting to do a late check-out.

Amazing experience!

It was spontaneous vacation with my friend. Hotel surprised us very positively! Although it’s big everything is easy to find and reach. Beach is just few steps away and it’s awsome! Instead of typical“Hotel” beach with sunbeds and umbrellas in lines you have natural umbrellas from Palms and freedom of deciding where you want to set your sunbed! Rooms are spacious with super comfy beds and pillows, we had bungalow which was in a distance from pools and bars what gave a perfect environment to relax in peace and quiet! What is cool about the area is that it’s like a big garden where live chickens with little ones, flamingos, cats and beautiful peacocks! Food is great! Fresh and local, great choice and full of taste! Another strength of this place is STAFF - awsome people! Smiling and helpful. From this place I want to give special thanks to:Restaurant colibrí:Marcia Luis and Mariana Abreu - Ángels that made every meal special! Also Bladmir and Nelson :-) Bars:Ramon & Wilkin, Valeria Rivera, Bianna Perez ❤️ best team to spend evening in Dominicano or dance bachata in the beach bar!SPA:Elisabet Valdez with magic touch like a fairy!!! Team “sunbed guys”: Wener Valdez and Kelvin - miss you guys already!!!And all the drivers from buggy cars!!! You were awsome! All those people and some more made our stay unforgettable!!!Thank you and we will be back!

Great experience and lovely resort

This resort is clean and has a lot of space, it has two pools which were exceptionally clean and well maintained, being an all inclusive every need is at your finger tips. Lunch was buffet style and had a huge variety of salads as well as hot meals, with an option to choose a piece of meat or fish and watch it being cooked. The staff were friendly, helpful and all our requests were fulfilled excellently. The beach is a little walk away, and to be honest with sitting around all day, a welcome bit of exercise.

Awesome day pass

We had a day pass and took advantage of the facilities. The resort is very well kept, the buildings look new, unlike other all inclusives in the area. The staff were very friendly and didn't avoid eye contact. The food was tasty, even for us vegans. My first few experiences of all inclusives in Bavaro really put me off them, but IFA has restored my faith and I would consider staying there in the future.

Okay resort

My girlfriends and I stayed at this resort over New Years and it was good but we were met with a few disappointing factors. The cleaning staff left our sliding door open after they had cleaned the rooms and given we were on ground floor our room contents were left exposed and vulnerable. The activities offered around the pool and beach could definitely be given more thought if this is your thing you will probably be disappointed. The staff at the front desk were sometimes rude and didn’t seem concerned with assisting if you had a real issue. Maybe they just had bad days who knows. The cleaning staff did not restock our water daily which was disappointing considering the bar wouldn’t give us bottles of water when asked so we had to keep returning for small plastic cups. That being said the beach is amazing and the golf cart shuttle is more like 2 minute ride or less and walking isn’t awfully long either.

Nice resort but not on the beach!

We just returned from our trip to Punta Cana and stayed at this resort. It's a smaller resort with two pools so it's probably good for families who need to keep an eye on where everyone is. The food was reasonable, the staff were friendly and polite, the rooms were nice and clean. We really only had two concerns: the hotel is quite a bit back from the beach - more than what we had expected from the pictures we'd seen because they are doing quite a bit of construction (we had heard while we were there that they are actually closing the resort this spring and completely re-building it). It's not a long walk (about 5 minutes) and there are golf carts running people back and forth all day long, but it's just not the same. There is a small beach area where you can go for lunch and drinks during the day. It closes at 3:30 so if you need a snack, you're walking all the way back to the hotel. The beach itself is just beautiful, though. Also, the hotel didn't seem to be very busy when we were there, but we found the 'Animation' / activities staff to not do very much, which was disappointing. Overall, we had a very nice stay. If you're looking for some excursions, Alejandro (he's usually located over by where you get the towels) was very, very helpful and gave us a better deal than by going through other sources (like Air Transat). We had a great time, we hope you enjoy it!
