Fantasy come true

The service was exceptional when checking in. It was fast and we were greeted with a nice sign on our room door welcoming us as we celebrated our 5 year anniversary with a fruit plate in our room. staff always smiled especially Israel, Maxsimo and Dorota, who served you very well at the buffet, a la cartes, bars, beach. when the staff saw me busy with the 2 kids, they always assisted if one needed some attention and was crying. They loved holding my 8 month old son. I felt at home just being around them. Lots to choose from at the buffet. Food was always fresh, clean, staff were professional at all times. Staff were fast to serve you and always smiled. they didn't rush us to leave even with our kids when they were closed. The a la cartes were booked by emailing the hotel before we got there to beat the rush. vanessa who booked my reservations was amazing and fast. They were all amazing and we always ordered extra dishes at the a la cartes and they had no problem with that. We ordered extra steak and lobsters:) We went to 6 a la cartes during our 7 day stay. The italian one at our fantasia hotel is amazing and we had the Lobster with pasta dish. The best one was the French gourmet restaraunt at the fantasia hotel where we had the Lobster and steak dish. We asked to meet the chef who was amazing there. The steak house was also delicious at the fantasia. The chinese restaurant at the bahia principe Esmeralda was also amazing with lots of sushi to choose from. The Tepeniaki restaurant at the bahia principe Bavaro hotel was cool where the chef did a fire show for us. I didn't really enjoy the Seafood restaurant at the bahia principe as they didn't have lobster on their menu. There was a play area for the kids at the Fantasia hotel while the adults ate at the gourmet and italian restaurant which was supervised. My daughter loved going there. We got our moneys worth just eating at these amazing restaurants. The bars were amazing and the drinks were always served so fast by the servers coming to your table. even the beach had servers coming to you. we didn't go to the bar once, we just relaxed with our kids on the beach. We even used our butler at times who was very polite, accommodating and efficient. We enjoyed the free pillow service at night. Our rooms were big and spacious and cleaned twice a day, one in the afternoon and one at night time. Entertainement was amazing for kids and adults. 8pm show was for the kids, 9pm show was for the whole family and at 10pm was an amazing light show by the castle. Felt like we were at a mini Disney place. The kids shows were fun for the kids and the staff got them to participate in the show. MondayTuesday- Lion King is a must seeWednesday- Michael jackson is a must seeThursday- Magician was coolFriday- Broadway show- amazing songssaturday- Princess show for the kids- was fun to watch Disney charactersSunday- Fun show with couples contestKids were always having fun even at the kids club house where u can leave the kids with the staff who were very professional and got the kids to engage in activities. Morlenny was very good with the kids. The place was always clean so don't worry about germs or anything. If the kids wanted to drink milk or juice it was always stocked in the kids clubhouse. They even had clean cribs for the babies. I nursed my baby in one of the rooms there.Theres so much to do in this place because there are 6 Bahia principe hotels altogether so we didn't have time to go check out the other pools and stuff. They had mini golf for the kids, lots of characters dressed up taking pics with the kids such as Minion. Download their app as you can request room service, maid, butler using it instead of calling them on the phone. wifi is only for 2 electronics per family which I didn't like because my daughter had her own so she had to use my phone. wifi should be unlimited for the whole family. We had to log on every other day for wifi connection. We will definitely be back next year with our friends and family. This place is huge with lots of things to do as we didn't leave the hotel for any excursions. This is my third time in dominican at a bahia Principe Hotel and the fantasia is by far the best one yet!!! Thanks for an amazing trip where my family and I had many fond memories to cherish

Having stayed at the Grand bahia esmerelda in 2015 as a family of 2adults and 2 children, which i must say was pretty fantastic from start to finish,we couldnt wait to arrive at the new G.bahia fantasia.Check in took a long time as tbe hotel had our 16yr old daughter down as an adult,so they had to change her wrist band to a childs and for some reason this took a lot of time and paperwork. The grounds, reception, and pools and gardens all look stunning. Our room was decorated lovely, exactly the same as esmerelda. The first day that we went to dinner in the buffet and it was clear that this hotel was not run in the same way as Esmerelda.THE BUFFET RESTAURANT- It was hard to find a clean table, and when we did and placed an order for drinks, the drinks took a very long time to come and on occasions thoughout our holiday didnt come at all.The same applies to when asking for extra cutlery or napkins, there were used plates and dishes often left piled up on tables whilst people were still eating.Service was very poor. The food in the buffet restaurant was very good and catered for even the fussiest of eaters im sure.Shame the service let it down. FRENCH RESTAURANT-Lovely decor and layout, but service terrible, food on the buffet section all sat there COLD and clearly not fresh, our meals got brought to the tables COLD.STEAK HOUSE-Service poor, food took 50 minutes to arrive and the restaurant wasnt even busy.Buffet section was COLD and not edible.ITALIAN RESTAURANT-Food on the buffet section was COLD yet again but the food from the menu arrive and was really nice. The service was good also.BRAZILIAN RESTAURANT-Not a good experience, the service was very slow, the meats were very greasy and fatty.**OVERALL THE FOOD IN THE BUFFET RESTAURANT WAS FAR BETTER THAN THE A LA CARTE RESTAURANTS,BUT THE SERVICE LET IT DOWN.POOL AND LOBBY BARS-The drinks were very nice, but some of the bar tenders were very rude, especially one in particular called DAVID at the pool bar,he would ask what drinks i wanted and then go serve another 3/4guests and when i asked why he was doing this to me regularly he would laugh at me and say " hey your on vacation" and then say something in spanish to the other bar tenders and laugh.POOLS AND KIDS WATERPARK-Out of our 14days holiday the pools were closed 9times because of either sick or diarrhoea that had apparently ended up in the pools. The waterpark was closed 6times due to the same reasons but also the life guards told me there wasnt enough staff to monitor the slides.(in peak season!!)ENTERTAINMENT-There wasnt any entertainment or music around the pool or around the grounds of the hotel or the beach, unlike at Esmerelda and the other resort hotels, which seemed strange as this hotel is aimed at children. The night time entertainment was only just ok and on a weeks rota,so not so good when your there for 2weeks.When the evening entertainment had finished there was a light show in the grounds of the hotel where the castles are,and this was lovely to watch.Thoughout our holiday we all ended up with the sickness and diarrhoea bug,but my husband was so ill that the doctors on the resort ordered an ambulance to take him to hospital, and this is where he stayed for 5days on a drip. When he came back to the hotel he had to stay in the hotel room because he was still ill.I lost track of how many people i spoke to that had been ill whilst there.I have never been on holiday and wanted to come home so much. Our holiday was ruined. This hotel was was meant to be luxury but lacked the things that the other hotels in the resort had eg- no entertainment or music around the pool,no beach games. No kids club staff coming round to see the kids and encouraging them to play.No tea/coffee machines to use in reception unlike the other hotels in resort. No water dispensers to help yourself to at the bars.NEVER GOING TO FORGET THIS HOLIDAY BUT FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS.

Relax vacation

I have been many times to Punta Cana. In this chain of Bahia principe it's my second time. I traveled with my two children ages 4 and 12, my husband , friend and her son also 12 years old. It's a beautiful resort. I have pros and cons. There is the castle show that starts at 10 pm every night (same one) that last a good 8 minutes. It's quiet and relaxing by the pool but where are the activities?!?. There is no entertainment by the pool or the beach and when we asked why? We were I formed since it's luxury and there were many complaints by previous travelers that they didn't want it ( dance contest not appropriate for kids, bingo it's like gambling and so on) common we are on vacation and parents needs to have fun too!? There was no beach soccer or beach volleyball 😲. If you want to play volleyball you have to go to the other section ( punta Cana o bávaro section). What's the point in paying extra if all the fun it's on the cheaper side. On the beach side: nice private area where you can't find a seat because people from the other resort are there. We did see the security guard removing people from the Fantasia section since on that area the beach towels are beige but what you mostly saw was everywhere many blue towels which belongs to Punta Cana o Bávaro. This happens every single day so good luck in finding a spot and have to wait for the guard to remove people to actually get a spot there but then people starts giving you dirty looks( it's ackward and annoying at the same time). A good thing it's that on that section of the beach they have Parllas and Barbeques (chicken, ribs, burgers etc) freshly made on the spot. Fantasia it's very quiet and relaxing. The kids show it's at 8pm and adults show is at 9 pm. The show ends like 5 minutes before the show castle starts and about 10:10 there is nothing else to do. We had to go to the other resorts for the night club and be able to enjoy some music, karaoke and lobby dance shows that ends by 10:30 and their shows starts after the lobby entertainment ends. Teens club was ok. There was a PlayStation there, a ping pong table and a gym that couldn't be used since it was closed due to a kid that got hurt. Then again why a gym for underage kids with weights?!? Kids club was good. One thing that I observed is that adults could go in. I been to other resorts where no adults were allowed for safety reasons, which was amazing and gave me a piece of mind. The door was always open where kids could just walk out and the girls who worked there where more into their gossip and lovelife instead of watching the children. I did bring my daughter everyday but I stayed on the sofa outside because I didn't trust that kids club whatsoever. They do not watch your children. There is only one bathroom-boys and girls all together in one bathroom. I saw 10 yrs old boys using the bathroom with 3-4 yrs old girls. That's unacceptable. There is no point in using ala Carte restaurant since they take over an hour to bring your food. On the Japanese restaurant we had to get up and leave after an hour and half waiting for the food, the buffet on the Japanese restaurant while waiting was horrible. Sushi seemed like they were made in the morning and looked saggy by the night time. The Italian restaurant food was horrible. The circus take house and grill steak restaurant were amazing. The Fish restaurant don't even bother. But Larimat which was the buffet restaurant omg! The food was amazing and fresh so no need for A La Carte reservations. Overall it's a beautiful resort but needs major serious changes. Would I go back? No! Will I ever use bahia principe in other countries? Yes just to see and give it a try but other than that we love Punta Cana and will be choosing another resort chains from now on.

Family Holiday to celebrate partners 50th Birthday

The hotel and location where excellent all found to be in clean well maintained condition. Our booking in was protracted that frustrated the family - We were a party of 11. The rooms were excellent with the mini bar topped up everydayThe facilities were great and the hotel was not too busy. The holiday after a poor check in was all good, until Hurricane Irma visited us.We only stayed for 7 nights and 3 of the nights/ days were effected by hurricane. Prior to the hurricane the staff spent a day or so removing all items from pool area and tied down everything in reception. Windows were taped up light fittings removed etc On the day if the hurricane we where confined to rooms - only sandwiches and drinks issued and these where of poor quality After the hurricane the hotel was not put back to its original state during our stay They were quick to remove and tie down everything but not so quick to replace.A la carte restaurants that we booked on 3 nights were not open and we were not advised if this - we turned up and they were closed The staff at reception were not the best and in some cases rude - they seemed to prefer to serve the Spanish speaking customers rather than the English speaking ones.On an occasion when the family wanted a rude in golf carts to shops the driver told the family to walk! Totally unacceptable - Customer service not of the standard we would expect Although we had a nice holiday on the days that were not effected by the hurricane the hurricane and its effects on the resort together with poor customer service left us disappointed in the holiday
