Majestic Elegance Punta Cana

A top-notch choice for those wanting a romantic getaway. The resort is tended by incredibly exceptional staff. The rooms are modern, elegant, and well-maintained. Make sure to request a suite with a swim-up room and jacuzzi. OK buffet options; great a la carte restaurants as well. If you're looking for something really fancy, make sure to check out the steakhouse and Italian restaurants. The grounds are immaculate. However, there have been some issues with various pool areas. The tiles have a tendency to come loose and litter the poolside area. This does not take away from your stay however. Overall, a great choice for those looking to stay in Punta Cana.
My wife and I recently just stayed at Majestic Elegance and upgraded to the Elegance Club. Upon check-in we arrived late and were greeted by Ruben at the front desk. After a bit of confusion with the upgrade to our swim-up suite. He really did everything to accommodate us. Even chased us down after an error on his part to correct it. We really appreciated his honesty during that process. We met our butler Erickson who was amazing. We saw him on average twice a day and always asked if there was anything we needed. He even prepared the Jacuzzi for a bubble bath that my wife really enjoyed. We had a swim-up room which was perfect, we found ourselves relaxing there most of the week. Room Service made everything easier when we did not feel like leaving our oasis to grab some food.Saw the construction next door and that did not affect us whatsoever. I'm sure it could be bothersome if your room faces it.The steak restaurant was amazing and service was quick and efficient. We did try the main buffet for dinner one evening and were really disappointment with the selection. We are not super picky eaters, but we also did not feel like being super adventurous with the food. The sports bar was great for watching some of the baseball games, the Casino was smaller than expected but we only were in there for 10 minutes. The souvenir shops were plentiful, but in my opinion overpriced for made in china key chains and other items. Don't forget to bring snacks, I believe a bag of chips was priced at $6-8 USD.All in all it was a great resort and great service, we will return, but will check out some other resorts first.
We stayed in the VIP club of this resort and it was amazing. The facility was beautiful and well kept. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Mercedes our butler went over and above to ensure our stay was great. The waiting staff, Domingo, Antonio and so many others were very friendly and helpful. Yolanda our server on the beach always made sure we were taken care of, and she was so very friendly too. The entertainment staff Mayra and Roberto were so much fun, the entertainment staff really made our stay fun. We tried the Italian, steakhouse, Japanese and buffet restaurants and they all exceeded expectations. Definitely recommend this resort, I will be back!
My husband and I just returned from the Majestic Elegance with another couple. The Good: It was refreshing, relaxing, and absolutely fun! We travel often and always appreciate it when we go to an all inclusive that exceeds our exceptions when it comes to food and desserts. The food was amazing and so were most of the desserts, especially the Chocolate Mousse at the Le Gourmet Restaurant. That was to die for. We enjoyed all but one (Italian) restaurant. The service at the restaurants and pool was excellent. Mary the poolside waitress was extremely attentive and remembered what we liked Agua con hielo; Hinet, Flor, and Veronica from the different restaurants were GREAT! We love to engage with the people and they did a great job not only serving but engaging. Yvette and Jaira from the VIP Lounge was very attentive and was very helpful in getting us anything we needed for room. We needed to change rooms because we were placed in a room facing construction and they quickly helped us move to a different room. It was always service with a smile with them. We really appreciate how well the hotel staff handled our room change request. The entertainment crew kept us entertained and we loved dancing with them. Francesca, Lucero, Wilfre, and all of the young adults responsible for entertaining guest were simply GREAT! Their energy, enthusiasm and love for their jobs was very evident. The Jazz, the music, the shows were all great. The evening beach party at the pool was the BESt! The staff literally worked all afternoon to set it up. It was plenty, it had great variety, and the evening show was well worth seeing...we felt like we were in Hawaii with the hoola and fire performers. We had two towel guys Roberto and Raphael were the BEST. Though they were simply responsible for giving out towels, they were always pleasant, engaging, and happy to exchange our towels throughout the day at the pool. Orlando our personal butler did a good job bringing aroma therapy oils nightly to our room. We also love that they have a variety of pillows for guest needs. Orlando made sure we had the types of pillows we wanted. We didn't see him much throughout the day, but that was fine with us. Anything we needed taken care of he was quick to make it happen. We loved the size of the resort big but not so big that you needed a trolley to get around. That was a huge plus for us. Being on the adult only side with the VIP Lounge, personal butler, the ability to make reservations for all restaurants at one time rather than every day was well worth the extra charge. I would say request a room with a pool view or with a balcony facing the ocean. The room on the first floor facing the pool are also nice because the pool is right there, but be prepare for the loud noise at night. Shopping can be done on sight, however it's more expensive. There is a little shopping center where you can barter within a 10 minute walk. Well worth the walk.Lastly, the beds were extremely comfortable and the air in our room worked well; kept things really cool until around 2am. Seemed like the thermostat was programmed by the hotel to not go below 75 despite many attempts to lower temperatures. It was quite warm from 2-5pm. The Bad:As for a room away from construction they work all day and very late into the nightOur housekeeper didn't do a good job. She forgot simple things like replacing face towels and cleaning the mirror, she just didn't seem to pay attention to detail; cleaning seemed very rushed. Actually that would be the biggest complaint, we are use to these types of resorts being extremely clean and one thing that was consistent was the public bathroom overall were not cleaned enough throughout the day. The bathroom by the VIP lounge by the restaurant by the pool didn't have hand soap in the men's restroom our entire 7 days and the lady's restroom smelled like urine everyday we were there. They need to do a better job cleaning public restroom throughout the day. The night parties at the pool are very loud, so be prepared not to be able to sleep if your room is facing the pool until after 11pm (not horrible and despite this I'd still prefer a room facing pool then construction)Room choices are basically facing other rooms or the pool, no real ocean view rooms...that was really disappointing to usOverall we loved our trip to the DR and Majestic Elegance, and would definitely return Keep in mind, that it's not only very hot and but very humid....loved every minute of it!
After a week at the majestic elegance resort our second stay in two years. The first for several of our friends and family that came to help us celebrate our 25th anniversary and it was fantastic. Our butler was Elis cedeño she was wonderful and took care of everything we ask for and more. Our waiter for breakfast everyday was Braudy he was excellent never left us wanting anything. Maxima and Maria at the pool bar were the best they never let your drink get empty and the rest of the staff were awesome to many to name do your self a favor and book a trip you will not be disappointed!!!
Check inFrom the moment you step out of the car on this property, you are treated like royalty. To start with cold towels to cool off followed by a Majestic Drink (taste like creamsicle). Then head to check in counter and if you are part of the adults only elegance club you will be escorted to a private room for check in. In the private room there is a selection was wine, beer, soda and water also along with snacks. Once check in is complete which don't take very long, a butler will come escort you on a small tour of the resort and bring you to your room. Our Butler was Orlando and he was the best(more details later). RoomOnce in our large room, Orlando pointed out a few things like how our fridge would be restocked daily with water, beer and soda. He also gave us a demo on the safe. There was a bottle of champagne to welcome us. The room was beautiful, large bed. Flowers everywhere. We couldn't ask for more. ServiceThe service is the best I have ever had. Orlando was everywhere. I needed band aids one night but couldn't find any to purchase. Found Orlando and off he went to find me some. He then found us at the pool. There was always someone cleaning, gardening, painting or doing something to keep the place looking immaculate.PoolThere are 4 private pools and one large main pool. I didn't care for the pool with swim up bar because it was small, my favourite pool was the one next to the beach. Pools were always cleanBeachVery beautiful clean and spacious beach. Never had a problem to find a lounger at the beachFoodThe food was good, lots of choices. Our favourite place was flavors. We ate most breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The staff at the buffet is really friendly and always around. Every Dinner there was a special drink to try. We went to the beach party that words cannot express the delicious BBQ that was spread out.EntertainmentThere was always something going on like foam party in the main pool, volleyball on the beach or games. There are also nightly shows, we only managed to see the Michael Jackson show which was amazing. The problem we had with the shows was that they are at 930 which was late. Between dinner and the show we got bored, went back to our room and decided to stay for the night.BarsThere are lots of bars serving drinks that were delicious. Our favourite bar was next to the beach. Our bartender was Kerlyn and I would have brought him home if I could. If you visit you must go get a drink from him. Not sure if the girls names that were with him but they were also amazing. They kept drinks flowing around the pool. Never a dry glass around. While at the bar ask for a shot of Mama Juana, really good. I cannot say enough good things about this resort. They are doing construction next door for The Mirage which is opening up in December. We didn't hear much noise from the construction. If you can go visit, you won't regret it!!
