A top-notch choice for those wanting a romantic getaway. The resort is tended by incredibly exceptional staff. The rooms are modern, elegant, and well-maintained. Make sure to request a suite with a swim-up room and jacuzzi. OK buffet options; great a la carte restaurants as well. If you're looking for something really fancy, make sure to check out the steakhouse and Italian restaurants. The grounds are immaculate. However, there have been some issues with various pool areas. The tiles have a tendency to come loose and litter the poolside area. This does not take away from your stay however. Overall, a great choice for those looking to stay in Punta Cana.
Have been here 5 days and still have a few more to enjoy. But we had to write this review in honor of EMILIANO!!! He has taken such good care of us at the buffet for breakfast and then last night for dinner at the See and Sea. Not only did he treat us like family, he referred to us in Spanish as family members. We enjoyed seeing his smiling face each day and we will miss him on our last few days here as he enjoys some well deserved time off with his family. Muchos gracias, Emiliano!!
What a fantastic vacation at a wonderful resort. You really never know when reading reviews so we were cautiously optimistic and ultimately very, very happy. After months of research, we booked the Majestic Colonial (Colonial Club) but when we arrived, we were offered an “upgrade” to the Elegance Club next door. Being somewhat jaded New Yorkers, we were thinking it was maybe some sort of bait and switch and they had no room for us at the Colonial (our flight had been delayed so we arrived late). We did a little research which led us to accept the upgrade, which really WAS an upgrade and we couldn’t have been happier! I see that some people have complained about the wait time to meet up with the butler to go to the room, but honestly, who cares. It really didn’t impact our stay in any way and we were just happy to be there. Orlando, our butler was AMAZING! He couldn’t have been warmer or more accommodating, as he really was there to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We felt kind of bad that we didn’t have much to ask of him. I think the best part of our stay was when we arrived at the room after a day at the beach/pool to find that Orlando had set up a bubble Jacuzzi bath complete with aroma therapy – just waiting for us. It was just wonderful and we likely wouldn’t have run the Jacuzzi for ourselves, so glad he did it for us. There was also a pillow menu in the room! As it turned out our pillows were pretty hard, and all I had to do was mention it to Orlando and he brought us amazing memory foam pillows! The room was gorgeous – probably one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in. We left the air on at the exact temperature it was when we arrived, which was nice and cool, so it was so nice to walk in each day to comfort. The one downside to the room is lack of privacy with the bathroom. There is no real separate bathroom….the toilet and the shower are connected by a door that swings and doesn’t have a latch. It’s fine if you’re a couple….but it may be a little too close for comfort if just friends. Cesar at the wet bar in the adult only pool was outstanding. He is probably one of the most attentive bartenders I have ever had. Not only did he make great drinks, he would have another waiting practically before we even ordered it from him. He was so friendly and always had a smile on his face. Orlando, Cesar, the concierges, the waiters - actually everyone was friendly, attentive and happy. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The entertainment was a surprise – I wasn’t expecting it to be so good! The circus show, the Disco show and the Michael Jackson show – really talented individuals. And the entertainment staff works so hard and always, again, with smiles. They are fantastic. The food was hit or miss. We really liked the steakhouse, and I loved the Sea and See for dinner (while it’s a buffet for breakfast and lunch, it becomes an a la carte restaurant for dinner). It was actually my favorite meal. I had a grilled octopus salad and grilled Caribbean lobster which was cooked perfectly and was full of flavor. I liked the French restaurant as well. The hibachi was very good too. We were told the Italian restaurant wasn’t so good so we skipped it. Here’s the secret for lunch…. If you’re in the Elegance Club (which is SOOOO worth it), there is a lovely VIP lounge above the pool/beach that has wonderful food throughout the day. Once we found it, this is where we would eat our lunch. The food was fresh and quite good. Much better than the buffets for lunch. The stairs leading up to it are right behind the beach bar. And the view of the beach is gorgeous. We will undoubtedly be returning. The question now is when!
This was our first time visiting Punta Cana. We were greeted with a warm towel and cold Majestic cocktail. so many pleasant surprises. Cookouts on the beach, great service and food, special cocktail stations the list is endless. We would definitely visit again. The entertainment staff is awesome, and every worker smiles.
This resort was filled to the brim with kind and energetic staff members making sure everyone is having a good time. There are activities and events going on all day from poolside BBqs to beach parties to evening shows. We had such an amazing experience at this resort and definitely plan to return.
Attended a destination wedding and my nephew/his bride booked this resort for over 40 people. We were pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival our group of 25 (others came later) was greeted with drinks and hot towels. It took a bit of time to get us all settled, but we were a large group. They have daily buffets for breakfast/lunch/dinner - and while I'm not a buffet person (at all!) these were very good. They had chefs at various stations so the food was made fresh. They also have restaurants on site. The Italian restaurant was great - the food was just delish! the Hibachi restaurant - not so much (I'm not much for Hibachi, although some family members really liked it). The staff was always courteous and very helpful. A swim-up suite is definitely the way to go. Loved being able to just walk right out onto the pool. The room was very spacious, with lots of small perks. One of the sofas was a bit tattered, and the lounge chaises that are outside in front of the rooms are weathered and stained. BUT we just placed towels over them and disregarded. The beach was just a quick walk away with a restaurant there as well. We had a lot of 20/30 somethings attending and they LOVED the swim up bar. The resort also has a lot of activities planned - again, the 20/30 somethings loved the pool activities. Us, more mature folks, enjoyed lounging around the pool - which was never packed; seems like we went at a good time of year (Father's Day weekend). And Room Service is included in this all-inclusive resort - my daughter loved that!. Also, if you like to drink, you will get your money's worth in no time. The tropical drinks were great (mine were virgins, but others raved about the alcoholic drinks.) All in all, we had a very positive experience and we would totally recommend this resort. Some of my family members want to return there next year.
