Our Opinion

One of the best family hotels in Punta Cana. Melia Caribe is a large resort, with a beautiful beach. The resort has very attentive and personable staff that will cater to your needs. They are also notable for their kids club. Those who are impartial to walking would enjoy staying in this resort, as its relatively large size also means distances between one area of the hotel to the other.

Pros & Cons.....

SO, this Melia resort did not meet my expectations of what I have been accustomed to from the Melia family. Summary of CONS: Rooms need to be updated and housekeeping services need improvement. We had a family suite - hair dryer did not work, one of the televisions broken & only 1 remote provided, outlet for lamp not connected to wall (reported both to manager Alexandro on 2nd day - nothing done to fix), they didn't provide washcloths unless I called and specifically requested, minibar not stocked unless requested, coffee cups/restocking not done unless requested (not used to these type of shortcomings during resort travel). Not enough /inadequate signage given the large size of the property.Summary of PROS: Beautiful/nicely maintained grounds; resort "train" very convenient/efficient for getting around; large pool; friendly staff We did enjoy our vacation and didn't let the Cons I mentioned interfere with our trip and I most likely will not stay at this resort again or maybe, I will stay at the Paradisus if I do re-visit Punta Cana.

Long Weekend.

If you want VIP treatment with an epic view this is the place for you. From the time we set foot on the property until the time we left. My wife, 2 yr old, and myself spent 5 days and 4 nights here after wrapping up some heavy projects at work. We did the private check in and VIP stay, all the restaurants on the property were amazing. Spent a day in Cap Cana boating and snorkeling.

Family vacation

Hotel had a nice open emvironment. A good variety of food was available. Offered day trips for a good price which were tiring but really fun. The fact that I was able to habe cappuccino during the day all day was a big plus.

Beautiful place for a family vacation!

I went to Melia Hotel Group twice once in Mexico and just this week to Punta Cana.I only have great things to say about your resorts! The staff at the Dominican Republic were very professional. We had so much fun, Evelyn Ramirez taught my son how to dance Merengue.Regarding the restaurant they are a lot of choices ,sometimes you need to wait to get seated for dinner that is why the best time to go is before 7:00 . In the day time there are plenty places to eat ,great choices, delicious food , a big plus no mosquitos .The rooms are very clean with very comfortable beds.It will be nice if they have a itinerary of activities posted at lobby, and pool area.The night shows were excellent with very talented performers.Great complimentary Wi-Fi, safe deposit box.I had a small complained and the staff quickly send the information to the manager Mr. Ramon Sanchez was outstanding he personally turned everything around for us for the best as it was my husband birthday week!!!The staff at the restaurant Ramon Ortiz,,Radamez Felix and Francisco at the restaurant made us feel so welcoming giving us outstanding service.We will definitely be back again.

Very disappointed!!!

Property is beautiful but very spread out. There was a need for transportation to go mostly anywhere. The beach was at one end of property, restaurants, casino and entertainment was in the opposite direction. Thank God when we arrived a very nice reservation agent took care of us and provided us with an upgrade to The Level level by joining the Meliá rewards program. Everything was okay until I fell in the middle of the Caribe lobby because of a puddle of water on the floor and no warning of a wet floor anywhere around. The time I fell coincided with the lobby being filled with a lot of new arrival guest trying to register. People were sitting on the floor, and by trying to avoid stepping on somebody, I took a dive. I hurt a knee,and pulled my left hamstring. Unfortunate incident because it affected the rest of my vacation. The worst part is that I did not get any compensation or courtesy reimbursement for this incident. Left with a bitter taste from my stay. Staff is outstanding, courteous, friendly, eager to assist you, very responsive to our needs. I will not recommend this facility because the way things happened.😞😞
