Our Opinion

One of the best family hotels in Punta Cana. Melia Caribe is a large resort, with a beautiful beach. The resort has very attentive and personable staff that will cater to your needs. They are also notable for their kids club. Those who are impartial to walking would enjoy staying in this resort, as its relatively large size also means distances between one area of the hotel to the other.

Another Wonderful Vacation at the Melia!

Beautiful Jurassic Park-like resort. We have come here 2 to 3 times every year since 2007. Crystal clear water and white sand beach. Great food and adult beverages but the best part is the staff who are consistently pleasant, polite, friendly. caring, pampering, and knowledgeable folks. We'd like to especially thank Carlos Kingsley and Hector Perez - Guest Service for helping us with our room selection. German Diaz - server in the American Grill Breakfast Buffet always treats us like family and could not be nicer; our friend Jhoanny Guerrero - who keeps our room spotless and is always there whenever we need anything and who left us a beautiful towel decoration every day; Yoci Perez - Tropical Pool Bar who is always very warm and friendly and fun and who always greets us with "la familia"!

2 weeks in heaven

I just checked the weather and we are so so ready for another great vacation at our second home. We just received an email from the staff and everything is about back to normal after the fire. The only restaurant that still will not be open is the Thai and that one became one of our favorites last year. Still plenty of other choices in restaurants. Can't wait for the beautiful pool and ocean. We've been coming for so long, that we now start seeing other "regulars" at the resort, so we aren't the only ones who continue coming back every year. We know the staff, lead by Carlos KIngsley, is great and we have a blast. We can stay really busy or just relax and not worry about anything other than the next drink choice or where to eat. Wonderful experience

Well I first like to start by saying that we had a wonderful time thanks to the front desk manager Eduardo Nunez he went beyond all our expectations we had originally wanted a room near the beach but due to an unforeseen circumstance that was not available so Eduardo actually put us up into a suite which was amazing jacuzzi tub separate bathroom separate bedroom and a living room in building 60 now about the resort the food was very good the beach was amazing the weather was perfect it only rained at night for about an hour or so which was great all the staff and all the drivers who drove you around the resort we're always Pleasant and nice and funny and kept us smiling the whole time we were there we would definitely recommend this Resort to anyone who wants to go there in the future make sure you ask for Eduardo Nunez on the front desk he will accommodate you in any way he can ..once again he's so polite and accommodating we were actually shocked by the way we were treated in a good way we are looking forward to coming back there again and again.

Great exp, 2nd time at resort, fantastic staff, very accommodating. Fun, great value. Fun beach activities, food was good, clean environment easy to get around. Hector made sure our stay was top notch

Avoid at all costs!

My girlfriend and I choose to stay her for our anniversary. We booked a queen room and upon arrival we were told they didn’t have any available and to come back tomorrow to switch. Long story short, they never had any available and we were stuck sleeping on a twin sized bed. (Which by the way, upon walking into the room, there were cockroaches in the bathroom). Our room experience 1/10. It felt like camping. Cleanliness wasn’t a priority in their room prep.We returned to the desk at least 8 times requesting the room we booked. At one point they even told us it was available but to come back at noon. We can back at noon and there was no room. Nothing but lies and runaround. A couple days in, there was a fire and one of the lobbies burned down. This effected my asthma the night of and a couple days after. (The lobby that burned is right next to the other lobby with the resturaunts). I understand you can’t help a fire, but it unfortunately ruined it for me with my condition and had to used my inhaler more often then I’ve ever used it in my life. Service is not existent. They lie to you just to get you away. We never received what we paid for. If you’re looking to stay here, I’d strongly urge you to think otherwise. Worse hotel/Resort experience ever.
