The Ocean Blue Punta Cana is a resort that makes up the Ocean Resort suites in the Punta Cana resort strip. Guests who stay in this resort are guaranteed to have a very pleasant stay. The staff are incredibly accommodating and attentive. Many of the staff members are genuinely concerned with the experience of your stay, and try their best to accommodate your needs. The buffet restaurants are always replenished and the food is always fresh. The a la carte restaurants are fairly good as well. However, the service tends to be a bit slower in these restaurants than others. Great little coffee shop that's available in the resort as well.
Very nice well kept property...more than I expected for the price..2 beautiful pools one with swim up bar..overall good food in buffet didn't really get a chance to experience the specialty restaurants I was there 2 days and they weren't open maybe because it was a Monday and Tuesday. ..will definitely go back oh entertainment was nice too.
This was amazing! We upgraded our 2 rooms to Privilege. Well worth it, with 5 of us, and being there for New Years. Our rooms were amazing and we luckily got our rooms next to each other. Cabana's are great, food all around was great. My kids' favorite was the Hibachi, they've been many times to this type of place, but they loved it. My favorite was the steak place! Not crowded, pools and beachfront were great. I did NOT like being pressured to listen to a time share spiel, we were misled. Fran, from the time shares, had a bad mouth and swore in front of my teenage kids. Claim Butler service...didn't see that, or turn down service. Mini bar wasn't stocked daily. Everything else was amazing. I'd go back. New Year's Eve celebrations was awesome, even with a little rain!
Just returned home yesterday, Domincan Republic was amazing, Ocean Blue was mediorce. The japanese restaurant was great if you could get a reservation, and the breakfast buffet was good. The other restaurants were ok but nothing great, A side note 2 of the restaurants were closed each night. The good, the rooms and the pools were great, the resort overall looked good except for the beach which is currently terrible. Now on to the bad, the sales pressure is real here... a three-tiered system trying to get you to buy into H10 Premium, some twisted version of a time share vacation plan. This plan was offered to us for 30,000 USD. It sounded great but I decided to wait and do some research, which I suggest you do if you go through the sales pitch. Every review online says its a nightmare and to stay as far away as you can. If you have it in you to be rude and shut it down right away you will save yourself hours of unwanted hassle. Also, a few nights a week the resort fills up with overly aggressive vendors, which can easily ruin an evening. They will never actually tell you the price of an item and will basically chase you around on your cart yelling at you about the wares. Also transportation around the resort sucks one cart that will come by every 30 minutes, if you are trying to get around quickly it's walk or get lucky. All the vehicles except one are for H10 Premium members, it's like they want you to feel inferior the whole trip, until you form over 30,000 USD. Room keys are sketchy and may fail at any time, had to replace our multiple times in 7 days. You will have to go to the front desk to do so. Show quality is barely able to keep you awake most nights. They have besically studied what they do at Coco Bongo and tried to do lame versions of it, but miss the mark each time. It's not that the skill isn't there some of the performers are great, but they have crappy equipment and speakers. Most of the show will be a bunch of regular staff members dancing around on stage. There are a ton of great staff members, who are a blessing to the resort which makes the stay worthwhile. A side note go to the Coco Bongo as soon as you can during your trip, the show is truly vegas quality. Book with your travel agent who buses both ways, super safe venue with tons of security.
Excellent entertainment and guest services staff make this place a joy! Thanks to the entire team for a great experience last week. The only downside is the food, which is just OK outside of breakfast and the Sensai Restaurant. The beach refurbishment also needs to be expedited.
Our stay here was not great. The room was okay. The food was terrible. Our sheets were dirty and we never got a fitted sheet on the bed again. Room service came about 3 times a day which was good. The food is terrible in the buffet and the restaurant. I got food poisoning our second night here. Only the hibachi was decent. The beach is alright. We upgraded to privilege access -don't do it. It was a rip off. Everyone wanders in and uses the cabanas. All it got us was a sit down for an hour of our morning for them to sell us their beach club for $13,000. I was too scared to eat the lobster dinner after my bought of food poisoning. I ate toast and French fries the rest of the time here. Abraham was very friendly and helpful as the concierge. My boyfriend got to participate in one of the games. While I was recording what he was doing In the beach game, one of the activities coordinators pulled out a mobile Hotspot and harassed me to go online and post a good review on TripAdvisor for him and the other staff with him. Then proceeded to yell at me when I didn't take a picture of his boss for the review. They're building a new hotel which opens next year. This place was a bust. And it's dead. No nightlife. Casino has 3 games and No one in it. Don't go here. Spend a few more bucks for a better resort.
