The Ocean Blue Punta Cana is a resort that makes up the Ocean Resort suites in the Punta Cana resort strip. Guests who stay in this resort are guaranteed to have a very pleasant stay. The staff are incredibly accommodating and attentive. Many of the staff members are genuinely concerned with the experience of your stay, and try their best to accommodate your needs. The buffet restaurants are always replenished and the food is always fresh. The a la carte restaurants are fairly good as well. However, the service tends to be a bit slower in these restaurants than others. Great little coffee shop that's available in the resort as well.
My wife and I stayed at the Ocean Blue & Sand for a week in November and from the moment of our arrival we were impressed with this resort. We found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful, The resort is well layed out and the a la cartes are placed in an area that looks like a quaint little village. All of the ala carte's had great food but our favorites were the steak and the Japanese. At lunchtime the beach restaurant has a great assortment of items that should satisfy anyone's appetite. The beach bars had great bartenders looking after your cooling refreshment needs. A trip to Mikes coffee to indulge in one of their specialty coffees is a must and they have a couple of great baristas. (Thank you Angel)!Mother Nature has misplaced some of the beach but the resort is doing their best with what they have.We had the pleasure of getting to know Priveledge and Guest Service Manager Judith and her staff Juan Eric and Dalmis Rodriguez who were very professional, thoughtful individuals. They went above and beyond our expectations and made our first trip to Punta Cana a very memorable experience. If your looking for a five star resort that has it all, Ocean Blue and Sand is the place.!! Thank you Judith, Juan, Dalmis and Pedro for giving us an unforgettable vacation, we look forward to our return!!
Stayed in May 2016, traumatized by roaches in the bureau, fridge, and the cabinets. Heard many other people complaining and asking for room changes also, but were told there were no other rooms available. Extermination service was the second day of our one week stay, but it did not help at all. Bugs were even on the bathroom vanity counter, housekeeping came and swatted them to the floor with a towel, then swept them up. Wasn't concerned, or apologetic. I also was bitten while sitting on the sofa. What a shame, as this is a beautiful resort with fabulous food and comfortable beds.
I have been coming to Ocean Blue and Sands since 2012 and this resort keeps exciting my family. The resort has renew many of its rooms, the teens club, their kids club and their staff is very friendly. Special thanks to Francis in the restaurant, Yamelin, Miguelina, Luis, Yovanny in the teens club, the bar tender at privilege beach area, Sexyblack and to the manager Ms. Judith Ripoll. I really recommend this resort for for everyone, if you're traveling with family, friends or just significant other.
Good food, lovely staff, nice pool area but not so nice beach and rooms! Rooms definitely need reconditioning! The best in the hotel was MIKE'S coffee! They make many kind of coffees, chockolates and smoothies! Simply love it!!!
I stayed at this resort for my wedding with 75 family members in attendance. Nothing but positive feedback! Planning my wedding with the resort coordinator was not so fun because they don't go out of their way to make it special so all efforts needed to be on my part. The administration team that handles weddings need some help since this is their biggest money maker. Investing in making their planning process more efficient would be such an asset to this property. This wasn't as big of a deal since we plan our weddings even before being proposed to! It is frustrating to see reviews that pick at the smaller details of cockroaches, bugs, water moisture etc. Travellers please dont forget you are travelling to the Caribbean and im very sure your own homes have seen a little creature; maybe a spider, ant , fly, mosquito etc. In the event you cannot handle these things you probably shouldn't be travelling to the Caribbean. Arrival was organized, this can be a long process when an entire bus attempts to check in at the same time however their Front Desk Team handled and organized their arrivals well. Never any issues with my key. Being a traveller I know not to put this by my phone so it doesnt deactivate. A La Cart Restaurants were ALL delicious. Food quality was decent in buffet. Breakfast options displayed their local flavor and enjoyed the authenticity of fried plantain! Beach was big and cleaned, towels were always available never ran short. Entertainment is lacking however I am a traveller that enjoys leaving the resort to explore and learn about the place I am visiting. Beds were surprisingly comfortable. I stayed in the honeymoon suite with my hut tub upstairs and an outside stone shower, STUNNING room. Day of my wedding it rained, the team had a back up plan however I chose to wait until the rain stopped, after all I wanted a beach wedding and got lucky enough to have my ceremony by the gazebo. Resort should make the efforts to try and make ceremonies more private so beach bodies dont photo bomb someone's special day or shout and make noise excessively during someone's most special moments. We wait a lifetime to have this moment with our loved ones. Decor was done nicely. Henry saved the day and went to pick flowers for my hair just in time before leaving to walk down the aisle. Resort is HUGE and well operated given the size and amount of staff to overlook. All staff were friendly and certainly provided fantastic service! Everything I expected. If friendly people do not meet your standards, you may be more interested in booking at a Four Seasons, Fairmont, Conrad, Sandals or Hardrock Resort for the pampering and services they offer at the 5 star prices. One cannot compare complete luxury to properties that do not fall in that category. Mommawanna beverage is their signature drink and an amazing one at that! The bartenders energy really make you feel like you are on vacation and join in to ensure you are having a great time. This resort has great value and is operated well I cant wait to return!
