Our Opinion

The Ocean Sand Punta Cana is a resort that makes up the Ocean Resort suites in the Punta Cana resort strip. Guests who stay in this resort are guaranteed to have a very pleasant stay. The staff are incredibly accommodating and attentive. Many of the staff members are genuinely concerned with the experience of your stay, and try their best to accommodate your needs. The buffet restaurants are always replenished and the food is always fresh. The a la carte restaurants are fairly good as well. However, the service tends to be a bit slower in these restaurants than others. Great little coffee shop that's available in the resort as well.

The delightful Ocean Sand Resort is an all junior suite resort featuring an impressive nine restaurants (including Route 66), ten bars featuring premium drinks, and a huge array of sports such as bowling and a climbing wall. Connecting rooms are perfect for families, and kids and teens will have a blast at their own clubs within the resort.

Location: On the beach, 45 min to Higuey, 20 min from the airport.

Vacation with my friend 🤗

Ocean Blue & Sand Resort is very beautifulThe resort is well maintained and the staff is wonderful. They make you feel so welcome 😘 The lobby bar is amazing and beautiful. Most of the entertainment is held. Thanks to Black Coffee, Baby Black and the rest of the crew they make the experience fun and interesting. Our room was very nice and comfortable. The pool and beach was very relaxing. I would recommend this resort and would stay here again 🤗🤗 Thank to all the staff at Ocean Blue & Sand for making my stay so wonderful.

Relaxing Trip , with a Few Flaws

Just returned from this resort from a weeks vacation. We have been to many different islands in the Caribbean and this was our first trip to the Dominican Republic . The first impression of the resort was positive. The restaurants were excellent , especially the French. The food was delicious , but all four of us were battling a upset stomach all week. Not to blame it on the food, maybe something else? The tap water for brushing teeth is not recommended. The room were very nice and neat. The toilet plugged up twice, it’s not recommended to flush toilet paper down! That was an inconvenience . But the cleaning staff did a incredible job with our room day in day out. The staff at the resort were very friendly, although many times there was a language barrier. The grounds were very neat, the entertainment top notch ! The pools were large and fun! The turn off was the beach sand bags in the water. They were not pleasant to look at every day, but we understand why they were there , to stop beach erosion. We just moved on further down the beach to avoid this. The biggest complaint was the vendors on the beach and when they come on the resort. Aggressive is an understatement. We don’t like to complain, but they just wouldn’t take no for an answer. We never have experienced this before and to us it’s a big turn off. Overall is was an enjoyable vacation and provided much needed rest!!

Great Holiday

We came here for my girlfriends 21st birthday and had an absolutely fantastic time. We chose this hotel because of the numerous good reviews and also due to us staying in a H10 hotel last year in Mexico. The hotel is spacious and has plenty of facilities to keep you occupied through the day. It has two huge pools which are fantastically maintained and clean. The beach is not so great as you have big sand bags on them and just in the sea to stop the beach eroding but you get that at a lot of hotels. There are plenty of restaurants, our favourite by far was the Italian and Mike's coffee is also excellent. The entertainment on the night was also great with their being tribute performances, acrobatics and magic shows. We were here during hurricane Irma and the hotel reacted unbelievably well, from topping up the mini bars with plenty of water and bringing round little packed lunches for all the guests in case we couldn't get to the food the next morning. The hotel could probably do with a bit of an update but overall we had a great break and would definitely return again!

Beautiful location, lovely grounds to hotel

We stayed here back in April for a friends wedding. The hotel grounds and facilities are really spectacular and when you walk into reception you do get that wow factor, we were allocated our rooms after getting a lovely welcome drink from the staff. When we arrived at the room it wasn't all it was cracked up to be the furniture was only what could be described as dirty and worn and the room smelt like wet paint, we asked to move room and they very kindly did without any question. We then got into our new room (happy with it) but wasn't what we expected from the pictures, but it was nice. I think we were just very very unlucky but we ended up having bugs in our room and I myself ended up with bed bug bites all on my feet. When we told the staff they were abit reluctant to move us but when they saw my bites they were again very apologetic and upgraded us to a honeymoon suite and that was lovely we had a brilliant sleep and stay from then on. The food was amazing and the drinks were brilliant we couldn't ask for more choice and we loved the mikes coffee bar. Entertainment could of been better as there wasn't a lot to do at night but as there was a group of us it wasn't really missed, the wedding day itself was a total washout (tropical storm all day) but the wedding team did everything to make it as perfect as they could for the couple and went above and beyond. The beach restaurant became our new favourite lunch place it was just unfortunate we didn't go up there sooner as we only realised they did lunch a few days before we left. All in all a lovely holiday

Well, I cant really fault it at all,Arrived on 23sept just after the hurricane, staff were great speedy check in, bags taken to room within 10 mins. Rooms cleaned every day, mini fridge restocked . At one point we had about 9 bath towels so we were never short, 6 restaurants, 2 large buffets so we were spoilt for choice with food, 2 large swim up bars which we never waited long at, drinks were great, especially if you like rum :) The staff never hang around expecting tips. And we’re always happy , smiling and dancing. The duty free shop in the hotel is cheap, (the airport duty free is huge and good) the beach was good and yes there is a bit of sea weed but what can you expect, the beach bar is also good with quick service too. The H10 timeshare sales people are everywhere, but a simple “non gracias” was enough for them to stop and after the second day they never bothered us again. Get your currency BEFORE you get there, as there exchange rate is .9 dollar to the pound :(I only took US dollars (never needed peso)The trips are not cheap, but I wasn’t bothered as I only went for The Sun and to relax. There’s plenty of entertainment all day everyday and they mix it up,My only complaint was when they closed one of the buffets several times they didn’t tell you, meaning a lengthy walk to the other side of the hotel, or a long wait at the restaurants, SUGGESTION : if your closing a buffet let the customers know in the day time, the pool entertainment staff can inform the guests , also let people book the restaurants early in the day to avoid huge waits !Other than this .........Would I go again? Defiantly.Loved it and already thinking of next year.Keep up the great work blue sands
