Punta Cana Princess

A beautiful resort that is situated amongst one of the most beautiful backdrops in Punta Cana. The resort itself is incredible. It does a good job of creating an elegant ambiance with different elements. The beach area is nice and big. However, it's advised that you go to the beach early to reserve loungers, as it gets very busy throughout the day. Both buffet and a la carte food items are better than the type of fare you'd find in other resorts. The rooms are cleaned and well-maintained. Your mini-fridge will always be stocked and the attentive staff will always ensure that your concerns are met.
We just came back from our stay at the Punta Cana Princess with our two daughters who are 20 and 22. We would not have had a better time, The resort is absolutely beautiful and extremely well kept. It's a small sized resort which gave you a better chance to get to know the staff who were wonderful. It felt like you were being served by family. I can't tell you how many times I got hugs and kisses when we showed up for a meal..The staff obviously love their jobs. They would sing with the music and break out in dance moves which was so refreshing to see that they were also having fun. You can join in with games at the beach (Which is a 2 minute walk from any room) or at the pool if you want or just hang out and chill. Everyone makes you feel so welcome..The choices for food are good and was very good, I just can't say enough good about this resort. If you are thinking of doing an all-inclusive, this is DEFINITELY the place to go..You will LOVE it. We can't wait to go back...Thanks to all the staff for such a memorable week...
Stayed here for 7 days on an all inclusive trip. Lots of positives here, couple of minor complaints. Positives:- Excellent staff - Can't say enough great things about the staff. All very friendly from the front desk, service staff at restaurants, maintenance, to the housekeeping. They mostly remember who you are, and your names. They were great to talk to getting insights on Dominican culture which certainly helped and enhanced our experience.- Rooms - Rooms were spacious and well laid out. We booked an ocean view room. Typically the bar fridge comes stocked with beer (Presidente -- really good btw), coke, sprite, and water. Sometimes you get Budweiser (not sure if it's because we were VIP?) but you may have to look hard to find it. Some extras do come as well depending on what package like beach towel service at around 9 PM. - Beach - Beach was excellent...not much seaweed -- not that I would have cared seeing how I am used to it. There's a VIP area that you are eligible for if you're with Sunwing they has access to Bali beds.- Food - Surpassed my expectations. Reservations are not required and really good. My favourite was the steakhouse but the Swiss is worth trying and has a great atmosphere. You also have access to the sister resorts restaurants but must make reservations a day in advance and no earlier. Buffet has an excellent selection and have many different theme nights.Negatives:- The bed in the room I found was hard. Didn't affect my sleep too bad but at times it affected my girlfriend and it could to you as well depending on preference.- Jacuzzi tub takes FOREVER to fill up, and I nearly mean it! I didn't quite have hot water issues unlike other reviews.- Wi-fi- Probably my biggest gripe. I wasn't expecting anything much because after all, you're on vacation, but was surprised to see wi-fi only free in the lobby and it was brutally slow. Would be nice if they had it poolside as well.Apart from that, if you want a quiet, relaxing vacation, I highly recommend going here. It was nice going to an adults only resort. Would definitely return if I book again.
My husband and I went to this resort March 11. I have mixed reviews. Firstly , as non smokers we felt that management seriously need to change their policy regarding smoking in the lobby or at least have a non smoking section. I had an altercation with another tourist who refused to move to another seat in the lobby, citing that he had paid to stay here! Really the issue is that management needs to accommodate smokers and non smokers. I would not return to this resort unless this issue has been addressed. Also sitting around the pool was uncomfortable for the same reason, cited above. I spoke to management three days before we left. I guess they gave me "lip service" No changes were made. Otherwise, everything else in this resort was great. The buffet was fabulous, food was great. Dining room staff were very pleasant, hard working. Our room was beautiful, clean. Very comfortable. The entertainment team worked hard. St Patrick's day celebration was alot of fun. It would have been great to have proper classes in Yoga, water aerobics. The classes were too short, not challenging enough. My recommendation is that management need to accommodate the needs of all visitors and consider the health consequences for their staff who are forced to work in a smokey environment. Thanks.
My wife and I are just back to Canada from two weeks at the Punta Cana Princess resort in the Dominican Republic. The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained, very very clean ,and the rooms are well appointed . The only issue we had with the room was there was no hot water but that problem was taken care of very quickly. The water pressure isn't great and it takes forever to fill the Jacuzzi tubAlso it tends to be very humid here so see if your room can come with a de-humidifierWe found the majority of the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The beach was amazing and the palm leaf sun shelters were in abundance. The pool is large , warm and well taken care of with a great swim up bar.Our room was situated directly across from the pool.In some online research we did before we left to come here the information we found about this resort said it was suppose to be a quite Adults only resort .It's not !!If your someone who likes to party, loud music and put up with a lot of drunks around the pool this place for you !!Our problem was we are not those type of people .We went for the quite, good drinks and good food !By mid day the pool was a rock'n with loud music , games put on by the PR staff or as the resort called them "Animation Staff" and a lot of drinking . Don't get us wrong , we like beer, wine and those fancy umbrella drinks as much as anyone else but not to the point of falling over beach chair's or pestering other guests. The bar staff never seemed to cut anyone off no matter how drunk people got and security at the resort just turn's a blind eye .We spent our sunny days at the beach where it was a lot quieter but even then the Animation Staff would show up trying to get folks up to participate in activities even to the point of pestering people , no means no !!Another problem on the beach is the constant pestering from people trying to sell you things , like out trips, cigars , sunglasses , purses , hats, paintings , hair braiding, para sailing , they come up from the beach onto resort property and again resort security turns a blind eye.The second Saturday night we were there the resort had a beach party with a DJ on the beach which was suppose to start at 9:30 PM and end a 11 PMThe music was so loud it rattled the sliding door windows of our room and as my wife was still feeling a little ill we were in our room the whole time.It was unfortunate that the Beach party did not end at 11 PM . I and others complained but nothing was done I walked over at one point to see what was up and there were less than a dozen people at this beach partyThe music ended about midnight.I have read other comments about the food being good and to be fair the only place we ate on the resort was the Buffet "Casabe" at the Punta Cana and that was because my wife on our 4 th day here ended up in the hospital overnight with a severe stomach ailment and a bladder infection. She was put on antibiotics for the duration and a strict diet during this time so where and what she could eat was limited .We found that the food at the Casabe was not that good .For breakfast they served things like boiled sausages and hotdogs , watery scrambled eggs , bacon cooked to the point of no return, they did have a lot of fruit though and nice juices , diner was not much better as much of it it was not well prepared ,often repetitive, all in all very disappointing. The restaurant at the beach was very good as it served a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, cold cuts good pizza etc etc.The reception hall is very nice and a great place to sit and read or get away for some quite time , nice bar here with great service .This is where you can use the resorts free WI-FI it's a little slow but gets the job done .You may be approached by empoyees about time shares and out trips and if you aren't interested just tell them and they will go away. The shows that were put on at the resort were presented at this reception hall in the evenings .We went to a few of these but it was just more of the same stuff they do pool side. Our second week was much better as we found the crowd to be more of a beach crowd rather than the crazy pool side party crowd like the week before, and even the folks who did hang around the pool this second week seemed content in just hanging around the pool bar sip'n on their tropical drinks. So I guess it just depends on the crowd but do think the resort management and staff needs to do a better job in dealing with peoples bad behaviour and please do something about the food in your Buffet !We did manage to get to an A la Carte Restaurant over at the Caribe Princess Resort next door , "Shanghay" Asian Cuisine and it was very very good. So, the chances of us coming back here are not very good, also if you do come to the Dominican go to your Doctors and get info on how to avoid these types of stomach ailments ,perhaps Dukoral , the hospital in Bavaro my wife went to was mostly Vacationers with the same stomach ailment my wife had .We have traveled all over and never been ill , first time for everything I guess.Lanugage can be a bit of a barrier but with a little bit of effort you can make your point, these are very patient and kind people .Glad to be home !!.
We stayed from 3/4-3/7 and a had a wonderful time. As a travel agency owner, I was actually impressed with the level of customer service. I have stayed at other properties in Punta Cana but none has had great customer service like this resort. They went out of the way to remember my name and make sure we had a great experience. I was on the hunt for Ceviche and the buffet chef made it a pint to make us fresh Ceviche with a beautiful presentation. The entertainment manager was a pleasure. They even have is free t shirts on our last day. The beach is beautiful and there is even a flea marker about a 1/2 mile down the beach. Overall I would return in a heartbeat!!!!
