Our Opinion

A beautiful resort that is situated amongst one of the most beautiful backdrops in Punta Cana. The resort itself is incredible. It does a good job of creating an elegant ambiance with different elements. The beach area is nice and big. However, it's advised that you go to the beach early to reserve loungers, as it gets very busy throughout the day. Both buffet and a la carte food items are better than the type of fare you'd find in other resorts. The rooms are cleaned and well-maintained. Your mini-fridge will always be stocked and the attentive staff will always ensure that your concerns are met.

The Punta Cana Princess offers 24 hour all-inclusive adults-only service. One of the only resorts featuring butler service for drinks, while you unwind, basking and relaxing on beautiful Bavaro Beach. Guests of the Punta Cana Princess will appreciate complimentary shuttle service to and from sister resorts, plus full exchange privileges at the Caribe Club Princess & Tropical Princess. Double the pleasure to explore and experience!

Location: Directly on the beach, 20 minutes from the airport.

Awesome vacation

Had a wonderful time at the Punta Cana Princess resort. Beautiful surroundings, very relaxing and friendly staff made this so enjoyable. The food was great, size of resort is small which I like and adults only made for a memorable vacation. Hope to be back some day!

Very Disappointing.

We paid a significant amount for this resort and expected it to be more then it was. Maintenance was lacking at this property. Our room key worked some of the time. We replaced the card six times and it still didn't work. We even had them replace the mechanism itself and it still didn't work. Our patio door was warped and there was a gap and the door didn't close all the way. Our balcony railing was broken. The garden outside our room was filled with garbage. It was like the maid swept the debris from the rooms into the garden. There were many many lighting fixtures that had wiring sticking out. The concrete around the pool was cracked and uneven with chunks missing in causing people to trip. The pool was filthy and your body smelled awful when you got out of the water. I left my bag full of sunscreen on a beach lounger while I ran back to my room and it was stolen. I found the person who stole it and confronted her and took it back. She had stolen other things from others and we had proof but the hotel wasn't willing to do anything about it because she was a "paying" customer. The Management was useless. We will not be returning to this resort nor will I recommend it.The food was ok but not amazing. The only good thing about the resort was the restaurant and bar staff.

Honest review for a very special place!

We truly enjoyed our vacation week of May 8th! My husband and I rate this resort a solid 4! It is quaint and small, so easy to get around. Plenty of sun chairs on the beach but I have to say that if you want a front row view of the ocean, reserve your palapas between 5:30 am and 6:00 am! You are close to your neighbors, lots of walking traffic and can be noisy (with many helicopters flying by). It was great swimming in the ocean it was soooo warm! La comida, the food, very good! Special restaurants at El Caribe Resort, excellent!! As for the rooms, very clean but have been partially renovated with a mix of new with the old. The bed too firm and pillows, sorry but not comfortable! The public washrooms...not too inviting, definitely need some TLC and several cleaning moments during the day which unfortunately is not the, but you get used to it! No wifi in the rooms but yes, available in the lobby! The most positive comment I need to stress enormously is the exceptional staff....all of them!! WOW....this is approx. my 10th trip in the land of sunshine and I have never encountered such wonderful people which explains why so many visitors keep returning over again...we met two different guests who have returned 14 times!!! Home away from Home, surely!! Such a lovely, caring and most joyful personnel...amazing and to realize that they can work 15 hour shifts and return the next day...and we can complain so easily...WOW again, there is not much else to say!! So would I return, yes and keep in mind for the dollar value it costs to stay at this resort...a solid YES!!Muchas muchas gracias a todos...te extranaremos y te amaremos!!

Absolutely Wonderful!

This was our second time in Punta Cana and our first time staying at Punta Cana Princess. We were not disappointed. What an amazing, relaxing week! When we arrived we were immediately greeted with smiles, a cold towel, and a welcome drink. Reynaldo checked us in and he was very helpful. We arrived at the resort around 2:00 p.m. and our room was quite ready yet (check-in is 3:00 p.m.) so he told us to go and have lunch at the buffet while we waited. The room: Our room was ready by 3:00 as promised. Our suitcase was delivered about 5 minutes after we got to the room. We were on the third floor of Building 3, right next to Restaurante Casabe, the buffet. The room was absolutely perfect. High ceilings, king bed, updated decor, a Jacuzzi tub, etc. A lot of people have commented on the fact that the beds are hard and the pillows are flat. both of these things are true, but they weren't uncomfortable for us. We both slept well the entire week that we were there. Another thing that I read a lot was that there wasn't much privacy in the bathroom. I suppose this could be true for some people, but again, it was fine for us. I worried a bit about the shower flooding the bathroom area, as it's only slightly sunken down from the main level, but I just turned the water off when I wasn't rinsing. I was probably just being paranoid anyway. The mini bar was always stocked with Coke, Sprite, water, and Budweiser. The food: If you can't find something to eat at this resort, there's something wrong with you. The breakfast buffet was huge and filled with fresh fruit, eggs, crepes, pretty much any breakfast food that you could think of. For lunch we went to Mare Nostrum, the beach bar, except for the days that they had the beach BBQ. Do not miss the beach BBQ! They have chicken, ribs, burgers, kabobs, etc. It was all delicious and I'm glad we got to experience it twice while we were there. The food at Mare Nostrum was also great. My favorite was the day that they had paella. It's one of my favorite dishes and they got it right! For dinner we had every intention of trying the different restaurants but found ourselves wanting to try the different theme nights at the buffet. They had seafood night, American night, Dominican night, Asian night, Italian night, International night, and Mexican night. We weren't disappointed with any of them and always left full. Dominican night was my absolute favorite. The goat was out of this world. Some people were shying away from it, ut be a little adventurous and try it. It's worth it.The pool: We spent the majority of our time at the pool. We were usually there by 9 a.m. and never had trouble getting chairs under a palapa. It seemed like people who left towels or belongings on the chairs were actually there and split their time between the pool and the shade. There's a little island at one end of the pool that has some palm trees, so there's a bit of shade coverage in the pool, but be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen. There were so many people that got burned after the first or second day, ourselves included, even though we were putting on sunscreen every hour or two. Bring a t-shirt or rash guard if you're lily white like we are. There are plenty of activities in the pool if you want to get involved, or you can just hang out and do your own thing. There's no pressure. The foam party was a lot of fun, so I definitely recommend going if you're able. The beach: Absolutely gorgeous. I've never seen such blue water in my entire life. I really could have stared at it for the whole week and been fine with that. There are plenty of palapas on the beach, too. We were able to get a nice shaded spot, even later in the day. And remember, it's the ocean. There's seaweed. That's how nature works. The resort employees can't control that and do everything they can to keep the beach clean. The people: The people are truly what make this resort. They work tirelessly to give you amazing service all the time Nelson at the pool bar is so good at his job. He always has a smile on his face and will have another drink ready for you before you finish the first one. Grey seemed like she was always everywhere and was always asking if you needed anything to drink. Jose Antonio at the buffet was always so friendly and good for a laugh. Quelvin at the bar at Mare Nostrum was always more than happy to make a delicious drink for you. The maids always made sure our room was spotless and made cute bird designs out of the towels a couple of times during the week. All of the employees were simply wonderful during our stay, refilling our glasses before they were empty, clearing our plates as soon as we finished eating, asking if they could get us anything. We felt so spoiled all week. Also, if you don't know any Spanish, try to learn a few basic words and phrases before you go. Some of the employees that we interacted with spoke fluent English. Most of them fell into the category of speaking some English. We found that we were able to communicate pretty well with everyone using my bad "Spanglish".Tipping: The resort employees work so hard to ensure that your stay is a great one. I saw the same faces at 7:00 a.m. that I saw at 9:00 p.m. They work long hours for days on end and had smiles on their faces all day long. Bring along cash (U.S. Dollars) to show them how much you appreciate their efforts. I was so disappointed when I heard a woman say that she stopped tipping because she felt like she wasn't getting better service by doing so. You can get pretty much anything you want brought to you at any time of day. What more can you ask for?A side note for the gay folks: We're a lesbian couple and it's pretty obvious that we are. We don't "flaunt" anything, but we don't hide it either. We got the same wonderful service that everyone else did.In closing, if you're considering going to PCP, go. You won't be disappointed. Drink some mamajuana, talk to the employees, talk to people from other parts of the world, and enjoy yourself!
