Our Opinion

A beautiful resort that is situated amongst one of the most beautiful backdrops in Punta Cana. The resort itself is incredible. It does a good job of creating an elegant ambiance with different elements. The beach area is nice and big. However, it's advised that you go to the beach early to reserve loungers, as it gets very busy throughout the day. Both buffet and a la carte food items are better than the type of fare you'd find in other resorts. The rooms are cleaned and well-maintained. Your mini-fridge will always be stocked and the attentive staff will always ensure that your concerns are met.

The Punta Cana Princess offers 24 hour all-inclusive adults-only service. One of the only resorts featuring butler service for drinks, while you unwind, basking and relaxing on beautiful Bavaro Beach. Guests of the Punta Cana Princess will appreciate complimentary shuttle service to and from sister resorts, plus full exchange privileges at the Caribe Club Princess & Tropical Princess. Double the pleasure to explore and experience!

Ultimate relaxation!

We had a wonderful time relaxing at Punta Cana Princess for five days. We live life at full speed ahead and rarely take time to relax. The resort was the perfect size; nothing too far away. We loved the beach loungers (beds and chairs!) and the hospitality. We especially enjoyed our favorite bartender, Gray, who always wore a smile and served special cocktails our whole visit. We also liked joking around with Alexander in guest services. Just an all-around fun atmosphere. You could do as little or as much as you'd like, and we did very little. Which was perfect! We stayed in honeymoon suite and enjoyed two complimentary massages! Perfection! We also went to the resort next door to enjoy dinner twice. As a side note, we had an issue with our room on night three (roof was leaking...assuming it to be a result of the hurricane) and they moved quickly to get us into a comparable room. We appreciated that. Hope to return someday soon!

Wonderful time. It was nice and relaxing. The pool was amazing. The staff is beyond accomodating. Grey at the beach and pool side bar makes amazing drinks. Alexander at guess service goes above and beyond for the guest. Mamma Mia restaurant is amazing. The Spa is unbelievable, best message I have ever had.

Two weeks!

My husband and I spent two weeks here at the end of September into October. It was everything we were promised. The rooms were amazing. The beds were a little hard but after a long day in the sun we slept like rocks anyways. The Jacuzzi tub was really nice and we loved the shower big enough for two. It was really nice having our own balcony to enjoy the cooler evenings. The mini bar did not cost extra. I believe we had VIP through but I am not positive. My husband drank the beers every day and we were never charged. There is a limited free room service menu for certain packages but we only used it once. The beach is fantastic. We were there right after the hurricane and they had the beach cleaned and new cabanas up within a couple days. The water was warm and beautiful. It was a little bit rougher then we had anticipated so snorkeling off the beach was not possible. There were plenty of activities right there. Parasailing party cruises banana boats etc. We loved hanging out at the beach bar after dinner in the evenings. It was quieter and cooler then the lobby bar. The only thing is people will approach you if you go on the beach selling cigars and other items. Again a firm no will send them on their way. I do recommend bug spray! Especially for the evenings. The pool area was our favorite lounge area. The pool is well maintained and cleaned daily. The entertainment crew is fun but will leave you alone if you just want to relax. There are a couple people that walk around promoting excursions. After the first no they will stop and say hi each day but do not pester you. The food was good. There is something for everyone at the buffet. We like the snacks at the beach bar for breakfast and lunch. You can grab a to go plate and then eat by the water or pool. The dinner buffet was good. The theme nights are fun. We loved the tex mex restaurant. We tried everything on the menu and never had a bad meal. The steak fajitas were the favorite. Fondue was fun but my husband left still hungry and we had to hit the buffet for him. The Italian restaurant was good as well. The restaurant in the beach bar is by far the best on site. I loved listening to the waves while enjoying a delicious meal.The people were really what made this resort perfect for us. Everyone we interacted with were polite and helpful and welcoming. We did tip but it never seemed expected and was never asked for. There were a few standouts for us. Merileidy(sorry about my spelling) seemed to be there to greet us for every dinner. She ensured we had a wonderful meal as well as always checking to make sure our day went smoothly. She was such a warm welcome everywhere we went. Nelson at the pool bar is fantastic! He always remembered what we liked to drink and greeted us like old friends every day. He was always so happy and made sure we all had fun! Last we have Louisa. She seemed to work at various bar locations depending on the day but we would always find her because she was that amazing. She would make me her Louisa Special which was the best drink I had the whole trip. I can not describe how amazing she is. She was so kind helpful and fun! She took such good care of us and always ensured we had everything we need. I could go on all day about how fantastic she is! She was such a hard worker but always kept her smile on and made sure everyone was having fun.Overall what you get at this resort is worth a lot more than the small price you pay. We will be back!

Good, but not 5 stars

Room pros: Large, has jacuzzi, flat screen TV.Cons: No door to the bathroom/washroom, shower handle falls off, wrong water connection to fosset (hot - on the right and cold - on the left), fridge door falls down when opened.Room service - they making room before lunch, but bring new towels after lunch, so if you want to take shower before lunch you don't have a towel.Upon arrival in every room suppose to be bottle of rum and case of cigars, but they don't put it in about half of the rooms.Beach - very good. Food - good.Quiet, some entertainment during the day, but at evening time you better visit another hotel.Was ordered rooms with 2 beds, but upon arrival we've got rooms with 1 (king size) bed. All keys from both rooms didn't work, we had to go back to lobby to replace them.

Unfortunately the bad outweighed the good

There were a few good aspects of the resort and sister resort but overall was not a great experience. This is NOT our first time at all inclusive resorts, we travel quite a bit and even visited DR once before. The main reason I'm giving this resort a less than favorable score is the cockroach issue we had in our room. We saw one in the lobby the one night but it's open air and I figured no biggie, hard to keep everything out when it's an open air space. We started to smell a sewer smell outside our room and in our bathroom the day before we noticed roaches coming up out of the drains in our shower. I went to take a shower one afternoon and they were coming up from the drain. Disgusted, we notified management and they said they were sending someone to come and fumigate. When we returned that evening after settling into bed I look over to the bathroom and see one in the shower again...then more within minutes. We killed them, and covered the drain with wet towels for the night to keep them out. This is the main reason we will not return but not the only. Honestly the resort needs a lot of TLC, maintenance, updating and better service in some aspects. First the good: The beach is gorgeous, just stunning. They keep it relatively clean of sea grass and the sand is so soft. The grounds are well kept and pretty. The entertainers a lot of fun. The pool party with Foam was a blast. We also really enjoyed the beach games in the morning. The shows at the sister resort Caribe were great, we really enjoyed them. The dancers are amazing and it was nice to explore the sister resort after. The lobby at the Caribe was much nicer (furniture and decor) and seemed more updated. The fondue restaurant was the best at Punta Cana Princess in our opinion. The service was excellent and food delicious. If you have the extra $ or a comp for the specialty restaurants I would highly recommend La Cava at Caribe. The decor & ambiance were beautiful, food outstanding and service second to none. My husband had the lobster at La Cava and it was humongous and my filet was huge and delicious. The bartenders, beach waitstaff (grey in particular), waitstaff at PCP are hardworking and friendly. Grey greeted us with a kiss every morning and drinks within minutes. We stopped by the beach party with DJ the night they had it. We were exhausted and didn't stay long but it looked like a blast and I wish we weren't so tired and could have joined in. The couples massage we had at the spa was wonderful and very relaxing. The bad & Terrible: -Pool is nice looking but not very clean, the filter system must not work very well. There was muck & grim on the sides where you walk in and all kinds of stuff floating around the pool. -Other than the fondue restaurant (which was delicious) the food at PCP is on a scale from fair to awful. Been pretty much found the only things edible were the omelets (which are tasty) for breakfast and French fries for lunch. Dinner as I said before was great at fondue and excellent at La Cava. We made a reservation at the Asian restaurant at Caribe and 3 tables left in middle of their meal. Service was painfully slow, most tables including our own got the wrong food and the food wasn't good. We also found the service to be very slow and not so friendly at the Italian and Tex Mex restaurants at PCP.-The long pants for men in restaurants was NOT enforced like we were told. My husband packed a bunch of pants and wore them the 1st night to the Italian restaurant and was pissed to discover most of the male diners were in shorts. One table even had a group of men in bathing trunks and tshirts. -We didn't receive the welcome drink, fruit basket on arrival or breakfast in room that our honeymoon package was supposed to include. -Our room started to have a rotten egg/sewage smell the day before our last. This smell was a common scent on and off throughout the resort. -The lobby is in desperate need of updating, particularly the furniture. All the cushions are stained, sunken in & beat up. The lobby at Caribe is 10x nicer than the one at PCP. -Bali Beds at the beach.....many are ripped, stained, sunken in, beat up, many canopies broken. -the free wifi in lobby is very poor and slow, heard from another couple who purchased for in room and couldn't even connect to that-At mare nostrum, the outside part could be amazing but again the cushions and pillows are ripped & most are filthy. -The bed we had was rock hard.-The linens on beds are poor quality, are rough & some had stains stained. -Our room jacuzzi tub spout was broken and squirted up and all over the room. -Room service is a joke. Honeymoon package say "room service included" but when we arrived front desk told us we can only order the items without the asterisk on the menu. Only breakfast item free was continental breakfast, which is described as a "basket of bread stuff". Only free items for lunch/dinner were, soup, salad, pizza, and some surprise type of chicken. Late night was even less for choices. Nachos even had an asterisk and were a pay for item. -Both myself and my husband got bouts with stomach issues while visiting. Not sure if it was the food, drinks or what. Mine was the last night into our day traveling home. I had to take down a bunch of Imodium so I wouldn't get sick at the airport or on the plane. -our room was in building 5, the honeymoon suite on first floor facing the ocean. They were building palapas outside our balcony all week. Saws are going at 7 or 8 am, trash bags & wood blocking our view of the sea, about 15 palapas laying on the ground outside the balcony. I know they are working hard on repairs after the hurricane but I'm pretty sure they could have found a different place to pile trash and lay palapas. It started with one palapa being built when we got there and by the time we left is was about 15 piled up. Overall, I would NEVER stay here again and would honestly recommend spending a little more money to stay at a better resort. There are resorts with a similar price point that have much more to offer and by far better quality.
