A beautiful resort that is situated amongst one of the most beautiful backdrops in Punta Cana. The resort itself is incredible. It does a good job of creating an elegant ambiance with different elements. The beach area is nice and big. However, it's advised that you go to the beach early to reserve loungers, as it gets very busy throughout the day. Both buffet and a la carte food items are better than the type of fare you'd find in other resorts. The rooms are cleaned and well-maintained. Your mini-fridge will always be stocked and the attentive staff will always ensure that your concerns are met.
Our stay at the hotel was outstanding, the guest services staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, it was my wife's birthday, the staff decorated our room on her birthday, had a special dinner for her, had balloons at our table, made her a cake and sang to her. Our flight out of Punta Cana was cancelled because of Hurricane Irma, we could not get a flight out for 4 days, the guest services helped us with every detail of our extended stay, helped with getting new flight reservations, helped with getting the additional cost at a reasonable rate, kept us informed on the storm, the entire staff went above the call of duty before and after the storm to service all of the hotel guest, very impressive, will be returning there soon.
It's far beyond the imagination! The staff here was amazing Alexander is awesome very informative and connects you with all of the exciting events like Coco Bongo 🤗🎉! Will definitely recommend and will come back! ❤️ this place! Oh and the food is amazing both buffet's and the restaurants!!!
My wife and I just left from 4 full days at the resort for my 40th! After reading hours of reviews of properties in PC this one seemed to be the best for the $$. I must say the many, many reviews I read about the property itself were pretty spot on. 1st off we were greeted by the bellhops right away and our luggage was delivered to our room 15 mins after we settled in. "J" at the front desk was very welcoming and he was able to accommodate our room request (building 5 top floor) which was a great start to our stay! Building 5 is the spot to be! Its close to the beach, pool and beach bar/buffet. We were given our welcome drinks as we were checking in from Yosaira (not 100% sure of the spelling). We went to the lobby bar right away and got a couple drinks for the 4-5 min walk to our building which is great for the proximity to the places mentioned above but a little bit of a walk to the lobby, Tex-Mex, Italian restaurants and the main buffet especially if you get caught in the rain. Just bring along your umbrella thats provided in the room because you never know when it may rain in the Caribbean. The grounds were immaculate and a pleasure to walk through. The landscaping and statues throughout were very nice! Our room was amazing when we walked in! Vaulted ceilings, big bed, jetted tub and a nice size balcony overlooking the pool! At 1st the room was very hot (I'm assuming it hadn't been stayed in for a couple days n it was trying to cool down). The thermostat was set to 10 degrees celsius (50 fahreneit) the whole time we were there but was at 29 celsius (84 fahrenheit) when we arrived and finally cooled down to 25 celsius (77 fahrenheit) by the second day and never went lower than that. I knew from the reviews that the rooms, especially top floor rooms, ran hot so I moved the bed over a few feet every night to be in the path of the airflow from the a/c output which was by the front door. That helped. The cons of the room were: a leak in the ceiling in the toilet area on the last day we were there, due to heavy rain. Not enough towels were provided daily. The door that separated the toilet area to the rest of the bathroom didn't shut properly and there is very very little privacy when using the toilet and the shower being all clear glass was visible from the bedroom itself. Not a big deal for us but if you're not comfortable with the person/people your staying with seeing and hearing your most intimate moments in the bathroom then this would be an issue for sure. Most of the bar staff were excellent!!! With the exception of the male bartender at the little bar in the middle of the beach during the day (never caught his name). Shout out to Jose Luis, Nelson, Emilio, Yosaira and Yasmine! They were all amazing!! The pool entertainment was great especially Rosie! The beach buffet was only offered one day while we were there but was delicious and definitely worth a try! Now the one big thing that I don't remember reading in the reviews were the amount of ON-PROPERTY vendors who constantly hassled us as we walked through the property on our 1st and 2nd days there. We would politely say no thank you and they were still relentless. The adventure/excursion guys on the beach were also very pushy but we were firm in not wanting to do those things, but PLEASE don't let that sway you from the beach. The beach is gorgeous and was the best part of the resort in my opinion!! There was always plenty of beach chairs and beds with ample shade which was great since my wife is a melanoma survivor. The sand was perfect and the water was beautiful with waves that were right in between big and small. It poured one day while we were on the beach and were able to stay completely dry under the shelter of the huts over the beach chairs (one of my favorite moments of the trip btw). We did the Dominicano buffet the 1st night, the Italian restaurant the 2nd and 4th nights and the Tex-Mex the 3rd night. Overall the food was pretty good everywhere!! Italian was obviously our favorite but even the lunch buffet at the beach bar was very good! A lot of reviews said the food wasn't very good but we have to disagree. We enjoyed just about all the food we ate! The big beach bar was open 24 hrs which was great for night owls like ourselves and the restaurant connected to it served burgers n such all hours of the night which was nice. Security guards could be seen on the beach throughout the day and even late at night which was very comforting since we went down to the beach every night. We encountered a "vendor" late one night who was acting a little strange and the security guard instantly made his presence known and the guy instantly left the beach. I never felt threatened, just a little uneasy. One last thing, its obviously not mandatory but a dollar tip here and there goes a long way and most are extremely grateful! All in all we would definitely stay at this property again! It was a great resort with a great staff!
My boyfriend and I planned to visit this joke of a resort for my 30th birthday ON my birthday. We arrive and the front desk was nice and the lobby was nice but they didn't have any lights on. Strange. We go to our room and it was not a resort quality room. It had the dinginess of a motel room. The building in which the room was located didn't have any lights on either. Also, the maids just left their cleaning carts out in the hallway. We were told that we would have access to two other resorts resulting in 11 restaurants altogether, come to find out we would have to pay out of pocket for all restaurants. Only food we didn't have to pay for was one buffet that you didn't get any service from except for drinks. This resort was supposed to have a nightclub but turns out it's located at one of the other resorts we had "access" to. That'd be fine and dandy but you're not told where these other resorts are or how to get there. The entire "resort" could be walked within ten minutes. There was hardly any activities and you basically just had to figure out how to do anything. There was 3 bars altogether, the lobby, pool bar and the bar at the buffet. Also when we walked through the "resort" there was trash along the gaming area, volleyball area and beach. This place is not a resort it's a motel that has palm trees and has nice water. We realized what a joke this place was and got a flight out for the next day. Do yourself a favor and don't make the same mistake we did.
This is my second visit to this resort and it always feels like home. I love every bit of their grounds, the beach and the modern rooms. As usual I was disappointed with the food. Where is The Dominican Flavor Chef.! Food is tasteless and the temperature not very adecuate. The only one that still pleases me is Rio Grande. I was sad to see that we no longer had the best Guest Service Manager; Paola. Where did she go? This girl was amazing and truly knew what hospitality was all about. Hopefully she comes back because the Front Desk could use her help; the entire resort should have her spirit to always serve. She did leave behing a very well trained crew as Alexander. Management should be proud. I would be back next year and hopefully animation does dont do the exact same shows. Come on man, it is time for a change. Thank you Princess overall for once more trying your best. I will be back and see what is new.
