A pleasant resort to visit. This resort is suited more for couples and adults who are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay in Punta Cana. The beaches and pools are stunning. There is a particular side that is a bit quieter, making it perfect for guests who want a place to relax away from families. Plenty of a la carte restaurants to choose from. However, the service in these restaurants tend to be a bit slow. Make sure to come early to avoid long waits. There is also entertainment held nightly, so there is never a shortage of things to do.
Beautiful resort! All staff very friendly and helpful. Always have smiles on there faces. Rooms were very clean. Service was great. Carlos the butler, Felix our driver, Wandi, Kelvin, and many others were superb! Were very hardworking. Offering assistance whenever needed. Never had to wait for service. Beach beautiful with many available lounge chairs.Andres was extremely helpful. Recommend the Japanese restaurant.
Just back yesterday from a week at the Royal Suites Turquesa. We stayed in a deluxe Jr. suite (swim up). The Property: The Royal Suites is located in a quiet corner of the property (and the property is absolutely massive). There are golf cart / mini trains that will help you around the property. Royal Suites guests enjoy having reserved golf carts and drivers. The property is so big, you almost need to take a few train rides around it, just to help get oriented. The Royal Suites areas are reserved just for Royal Suites guests, including some high end dining, but Royal Suites guests have full access to all other areas of the property, including restaurants and spas all at no charge, (except for massage)The Room: We really enjoyed our room and the swim up option is a must. We spent our days by the ocean and the late afternoon sitting outside the room on our pool deck area. The room has a hot tub and is stocked with four bottle of high end booze - all free. There is wine in the room too - not free. Also, don't try and bring a bottle of the free booze home... you will quickly find that it is not free anymore. Butler: We had two butlers, which might be better described as a concierge who is assigned to the building. We had Manuel and Carolina. Both were excellent folks and we very much enjoyed getting to know them. Manuel decorated our room up for my wife's birthday and left us a bottle of champagne. They were both excellent about helping us to get our restaurant reservations also. (hint- do this early. If you wait each day to try and make a reservation, you will find that typically only 6pm and 10pm are available). Both Manuel and Carolina were with us for our whole stay. (they work two weeks on and 3 days off - they live is staff quarters on the property and go home to their families on their days off)Food: The food was great at the high end restaurants and there were options for everyone at the buffets. I've read some critical reviews of the food and there are simply so many options that for someone to complain simply isn't fair. There was lots of stuff that I wouldn't want to eat, but there was so much that we did enjoy that its really not fair to complain. Our favorite a la carte restaurants were Japanese, Chinese, Royal Gourmet and the Italian. All were sensational. (hint: Room service is available 24hrs. We enjoyed it for an afternoon snack, before a later dinner. The shrimp taco's were a big hit with us).The beach: Miles and miles of white sand and blue water. You will not be disappointed here. If you are... you got a problem. The Travel Club: This is the only negative thing we have to say about the resort. When you arrive, you are told that you need to meet someone the next day to review the resort, learn about the restaurants etc. They tell you that this is very important and cannot be missed because they will also be telling you where you need to be to be picked up on your last day. Our humble advice to you is to avoid this meeting and anyone who is wearing a shirt with "Paladium Travel Club" on it. They will burn up as much of your time as you will give them and all they want to do is sell you a travel club membership. They spend most of their time near the entrance and exits of the lobby and are super friendly, but relentless. We actually got to the point were we were avoiding them and when they approached us, we simply said "no thank you" and kept walking. It was nothing to be approached 5-6 times a day. You are safe near the pools and ocean. Again, the only grey cloud was these guys. Friendly, but they were too much.Overall: The ultimate test for us is whether or not we would go back and would we send our friends there. Simply put, yes we would go back, and in a heart beat. The food, the beach, the staff, the property... all were wonderful. You can walk and explore other properties up and down the beach and you will come back to Royal Suites happy that you aren't staying at one of the others. We did.Enjoy your trip!
We returned to the Royal Suites for a second time in four years. The resort has made some lovely upgrades. New restaurant and new palpayas on the beach. We were in a swim up room and these could use some upgrades. Found the air conditioning a little chilly. The pools and beaches were beautiful and well worth the trip.Additionally Carlos is an excellent and friendly butler.
We were at the Royal Suites from 14 - 21 Feb 2017. The Royal Suites is a good value in my opinion for the money. The Butler's, especially Carlos in building 53 are excellent. They all were very friendly and willing to help. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The only complaint I have with the rooms are that the chairs are very uncomfortable. The food at the resort is very good and the beach is beautiful. The only thing that I really did not like was the scent in the lobby of the Royal Suites. I found it very powerful and almost offensive. For this reason we spent a lot of time in the lobby of the Palace.
Our stay was feb 16 through 19.The rooms are very spacious. The grounds are immaculate. The resort is very large, but they have shuttles to take you to were ever you want to go at the most a three minute wait. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach was fantastic plenty of chair on the beach with tiki huts. George the wait staff made sure your drink was not empty. Only regret is we didn't have a swim out room but the second floor rooms are more private.
