Royal Suites Turquesa by Palladium

A pleasant resort to visit. This resort is suited more for couples and adults who are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay in Punta Cana. The beaches and pools are stunning. There is a particular side that is a bit quieter, making it perfect for guests who want a place to relax away from families. Plenty of a la carte restaurants to choose from. However, the service in these restaurants tend to be a bit slow. Make sure to come early to avoid long waits. There is also entertainment held nightly, so there is never a shortage of things to do.
The hotel is part of a bigger resort which includes 3 other hotels: Punta Cana, Bavaro and Royal Palladium. The Royal Turquesa hotel has exclusive lobby, beach and swimming pools. Rooms are wide and spacious. Butler service is of great assistance and provides personnalized service (which we tried several times and were perfectly served). The staff is overall very friendly and always helpful when needed. I hereby would like to give a special thanks to the 'behind the scene' staff (Management, HR, Coordinators, Cuisine Chefs...) who work very hard to make our stay memorable but without even noticing them. We have tried all the restaurants except the Italian and the Steak House. Most of the dishes are very salty in most restaurants (except 'Le Chanterelle' and the Royal Turquesa exclusive buffet). Salt is very unhealthy and kitchen staff should pay attention to it. I am a great fan of cocktails unfortunately, I could not enjoy as much as I wanted as bar tenders used too much sugar in the mix. All in all, we had a fantastic time in the resort and we recommend it to honeymooners and romantic trippers.
We spent 8 days last July and it was one of the best vacations. Great food, views, service and entertainment. We stayed at the Royal suited. Charlie was our butler and he was just wonderful. He helped us with restaurants reservations and transportation during the whole stay. We're planning another vacation there next year.
If you would like to read a detailed review, please read on...Upon our arrival, we were greeted by "King Kong" whom we heard about when reading prior reviews on trip advisor. The first thing he asked us is if we knew who he was. When we said we did not, he acted surprised and said, "everybody knows who I am" He then took our bags and showed us to our room. We tipped him well ($40) expecting that our "butler" would be very attentive. We never heard from him again for the rest of our trip. He never once checked in with us to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. The day we were checking out he looked at us in the lobby and never acknowledged us.The lobby definitely could use a point person(perhaps the butler?) who speaks English and explains the resort and its amenities so you can get the most from your stay. If you are there for the first time, you may feel lost and on your own. During our stay we experienced the following issues: two nights in a row we had no hot water and had to take cold showers. One night no air conditioning and one night no TV service. We called the front desk but nothing was ever done. Eventually these issues were resolved however, it would have been nice to hear from someone.Having never stayed at this resort, our overall feeling was that the staff does not place much importance on how the guests stay is going. The map of the resort we were provided was very difficult to read and and there was very little information as to what events was taking place in the resort. We walked to the Merengue Theatre expecting to see a show and it was closed with no information. When we asked a staff member about the show, they said it was cancelled but did not know why. In addition, if you don't speak Spanish you will have difficult time getting information. Please be advised smoking is permitted on the beach and pool area. Very unpleasant having to breathe second hand smoke.Food and drink.Let me start by saying, that we did not set our expectations too high. Service in all restaurants was very good. We went to the following restaurants; Le Chanterelle- we felt the food was overrated on trip advisor. Beautiful decor, and it ends there. El Tapeo, Bhogali, Rodizio and Sumptuori- food was excellent. Las Torres Buffet was our favorite place for breakfast and Molina was an excellent server.Daily poolside BBQ and Lobby deserts were very good. The bartenders in the resort need to learn how to make mixed drinks. WAY TOO MUCH SUGAR. Mojito with sprite does not work!!!Overall the resort is very clean. As far as our room, it was clean and spacious, but lacked enough electrical outlets and there was NO DRESSER! Room definitely lacked space for our clothes. Except for smoking the beach was beautiful as well as the ocean. We were often approached by sales people/vendors but a polite "no" was all that was needed.
We stayed at the Adult section the Royal Suites, so I can only speak for that which was fantastic. Royal suite has their own lobby, pools, beach area and 2 exclusive restaurants. We were a group of three families with kids 18+. The kids had their own rooms & the resort accommodated our request to put our kids room beside ours. Only thing thu was that the bed was king size which is understandable since it's the adult sections. Beds were very comfortable. My sons didn't want to share a bed but there was a sofa bed & house keeping came very quickly and made it up. It must've been comfortable because my sons never complained about it.The rooms in the Royal suite section are beautiful and large. Our room had an area with a sofa and chairs making it very comfortable. We're not big drinkers but there seems to be a bar everywhere you look. And there is always someone coming to take your order and bring your drink to you. Mind you that was in the Royal Suite sections so I can't speak for the other parts of the resort. The wait staff people at the beach specially Loretta was wonderful. Always walking around asking what you would like and carrying a tray full of drinks with a smile on her face. We also had our own lobby which was air conditioned and that was so welcomed when you came in from outside. We were there the 1st week of August and had no trouble finding beds with shade. There was always lots available. No need to go early and reserve it.La Gourmet Restaurant was exclusive to the Royal Suites and was fantastic. You could order your eggs or omelet they way you wanted and they would bring it right to your table. The food was always fresh & the service was impeccable there. We also had dinner there a couple of times and the wait staff were fantastic always happy to see you.We tried a few of the restaurants as well. Mexican was okay, not fantastic but something different to try. The wait staff again were fantastic there. The Japanese was good and fun since the chef cooks the food in front of you. So really recommend that one. Again the wait staff were grt.The Brazilian is good if you want to try something different. They come around with different meets on a stick and carve it right there for you. Not the best food I've ever had but was nice to try.The Indian restaurant was very good. You don't have a lot of choices on the menu but we all loved what we ordered. We definitely would've gone back if we had time. The décor is also very lovely. They also have sports facilities like tennis, soccer & basketball which was all the way to the other end of the resort. So we had to use a golf cart to go there since it's hard to walk in that heat and sun.I guess the only negative thing would be that the resort is very large and that you need to get a rid on the golf carts if you would like to discover other parts of it. That's probably why we never made it to any of the shows and never found out where the theatres. Thank you Grand Palladium for a wonderful vacation and treating us like Royalty.
I had an AWESOME time. Santos and my housekeeper Anna were a blessing. I am going to HIGHLY recommend this hotel and vacation spot. The friendly service, the various types of food, the SPA, even taking a train ride around the resort was very enjoyable. They exceeded my expectations. I will be back!!!!🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝
