Royal Suites Turquesa by Palladium

A pleasant resort to visit. This resort is suited more for couples and adults who are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay in Punta Cana. The beaches and pools are stunning. There is a particular side that is a bit quieter, making it perfect for guests who want a place to relax away from families. Plenty of a la carte restaurants to choose from. However, the service in these restaurants tend to be a bit slow. Make sure to come early to avoid long waits. There is also entertainment held nightly, so there is never a shortage of things to do.
We stayed at the Palladium Royal Suites Feb. 21, to Mar. 2, 2017. There are several price points on the property this one is adults only and close to the beach and a nice pool. This is a large resort, but shuttles are available all the time to drive you around or to a location, take a driving tour. You will be approached by salespeople for their version of "time share" make your own decision about that. Be sure to get a beach towel and stake out your beach area earily. There are a lot of shaded areas but the good locations go fast. The themed restaurants require a reservation. It's best to make reservations upon check-in to avoid unavailablity or a very long wait. The food is not world class, but is very good, you will always find good food every where you eat. The service is friendly and efficient. Spanish is the local language, but with a little friendly patience you can always make your way. Just east of the resort is the community of Bavaro. There is an area of souvenir shops along the beach, buy some gifts there, be sure to negotiate over the price. Tipping is not required or even expected, but bring a few $1.00 bills for a good service or drink. If you want to use water activities book them via the Dolin dive shop located on the beach at the mid-point of the resort. We met "Teddy" who was very helpful. It would be wise to bring your own swim fins at least, they supply mask and snorkel on the trips. The snorkeling off the beach is not so great. Conclusion; this is a great beach vacation resort, we would sure consider it again.
Honestly had the most amazing experience here at the royal suites - it definitely exceeded all expectations of an all inclusive resort and comes so highly recommended. The food, service, facilities and rooms were fantastic! I'm going to give a brief breakdown of the trip and the general so you know what to expect. I was staying at the royal suites for a week with one of my girlfriends; we were looking for a week of sun and relaxation, with minimal activity. Lobby and arrival - greeted with champagne on arrival. Lovely reception, air conned and exclusive to royal suites guests. Just to clarify the resort is made up of 3 separate hotels/areas for use by different guests. Royal suite guests have access to all parts of the resort and all restaurants. We have exclusive use of a couple of restaurants and pools which means it isn't too busy and there are no young children splashing about near you. There is no need to wake up early to reserve a sun bed! Introduced to our butler for the week Charli - great guy! Butler service - Charli was our butler for the week. Great guy and a good laugh. He gave us a tour of the rooms and facilities and went out of his way to accommodate our every need. The butler service is exclusive to the royal suites guests. Charli would make all our dinner reservations for us and escort and drive us in the golf carts to any area of the resort. Restaurants - there are a number of different restaurants scattered over the resorts. We have access to all of them. Most a la crate need booking so Charli made all our reservations for us for the week - you need to book before 12 on the same day. Even when it was busy and other guest were being turned away Charli would always make it happen even at short notice! Day 1 - Spanish tapas - fab food, lovely decor, good service Day 2 - steak house - highly recommended! Steak was of good quality Day 3 - Italian - don't recommend, service was slow and food was pretty average. Definitely would avoid this one Day 4 - sports bar - offer 24 hour food , popcorn and American themed snacks etc. Has a lot of sports playing. Great place to just hang out and relax Day 5 - Japanese - excellent. Definitely best restaurant of the resort. The chefs cook up a meal in front of you and toss food into your mouth ( or at least try to). Good show Day 6 - Brazilian - again great meal. Meat based with sides. Recommend a visitTransport - the resort is pretty large and each hotel has its own bars, restaurants and shows. There is always something on at every hotel. We were lazy and so preferred not to walk too far. There is a little train that runs around the resort every 15-20 mins or so that can take guests to your destination. I have to be honest and say that royal suite guests get exclusive use if a golf cart buggy service, so we would always call a porter to take us where we wanted to go. The downside of this service was the wait - often we would call a buggy several times and be left waiting until one arrived. Shout out to Wandy who was the most rapid driver on the resort - had a blast! Rooms and pools - we had a deluxe junior suite room away from the reception. Excellent room, clean, jacuzzi bath and shower. Good view onto the pools. We had use of smaller more exclusive pools with a bar near by. Had the option to be close to the main pool and reception but these pools were quieter and we actually never needed to use the main pool. Waiters served us drinks at our sun beds all day. Always available sun beds and floats. Pools clean and well maintained. Drinks - going into an all inclusive resort I genuinely expected the drink choice to be generic brands and cocktails to be watered down. Definitely not the case! All high quality brands if alcohol available - Bombay sapphire, absolut vodka etc. All cocktails and alcohol is free except champagne and wine. Activities - as I said this was definitely a sun sea and relaxation trip! We decided to go to "cocobongo" one evening, tickets bought through our Thompson rep. A big club and show night. Such an amazing night! Not just an average club - good music broken up by excellent shows - acrobatics, Cabaret, dancers etc. Highly recommended - you'd be missing out if you didn't go! Staff - for the most part staff were great. Royal suites staff excellent had no issues, always helpful and friendly. Restaurant staff sometimes a little abrupt. As two semi- attractive females travelling alone we did often find a lot of male attention from male staff, little pervy at times. That being said often worked to our advantage 😉So , in summary it is definite it worth paying the extra money to stay at the royal suites part of the resort. The extra money goes a long way and you are treated like royalty! Would definitely come back here.
If you have any reservations about staying at this hotel please let me start by saying it was well worth it. I recently stayed here for 7 days with a girlfriend of mine in the Royal Junior Suite with a balcony. Upon arrival we were offered a tour of the other rooms with potential to upgrade however we actually felt our room was superior to the others and in a better location (private swim up pools as appose to the bigger busier main pool). This hotel is part of a complex called palladium and although you are free to use the facilities at all the adjoining hotels the Royal suites is by far the best area. Adults only private areas where other guests are prohibited from entering means you receive much better service with less crowds. The butler service is a nice touch, upon arrival we were introduced to Charli and given champagne. Charli was our butler for the week and took care of anything we requested, the best service being the dinner reservations with him getting us a seat in every restaurant we asked even when we saw other guests of the complex being turned away due to capacity. This hotel also offers a buggy service as the resort is quite large and can be hard to navigate. The Royal suites has dedicated buggies for guests and Charli was able to phone and request these to pick us up and drop us off as we pleased. There is also a train service which circles the resort until the early hours. There is a private section of beach dedicated to the Royal suites with bar service. Each pool has a bar close by with a server coming round and topping up drinks frequently. The all inclusive drinks available are top shelf alcohol and definitely not watered down, we are big drinkers and had to ask for one of ours to be diluted! The food at the buffet is what you have come to expect from an all inclusive resort, clean and tidy and a variety of choice. The Royal suites again has a separate buffet as to limit crowding. What was unique to me was the dinner choice, as a whole this resort boasts an impressive amount of a la carte restaurants available which are included in the all inclusive package. These need to be reserved but are well worth it. I highly recommend the Steakhouse and the Japanese however the tapas and Brazilian are equally as good. The service is impressive and the food is something I wasn't expecting from an all inclusivd resort. Overall this resort was very clean, our room was cleaned everyday with options of extra towels. The mini bar was refilled each day and room service was free, which included a late night service for if you get a little hungry after hours! The staff are very accommodating and eager to meet your requests. Always smiling and trying to make your experience all the more enjoyable. For two girls looking to relax in the sun this was the best place we could have picked and I would most definitely stay here again. I highly recommend staying in the Royal suites section of this complex as it really was 5 star. For people wishing to have a little more activity there was always something happening with entertainment provided all day. For those (like myself) just looking to relax and enjoy the Caribbean this is the place for you.
The beach was very beautiful and there were plenty of chairs all that were available all the time. The room was very nice and the butler Charli was very nice and took good care of us. The pool was very nice also.
The room, beach & employees were great! Food was so-so. Charli was awesome! Took good care of us. He made everything for us enjoyable. Beach was nice because there was plenty of shade if you wanted it.
