The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana Resort
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
The Reserve at the Punta Cana Resort is the perfect destination for both families and couples. The resort is amazing with its staff. They are incredibly attentive and ensure that you're getting the most out of your stay. The nightly shows that are held daily are pleasantly entertaining. The beach and pool area are gorgeous. Make sure that you check out the spot specifically meant for Reserve guests. There is a special spot for these guests, where there are plenty of loungers. Good options to choose from with regards to the buffet and a la carte food choices.
My family and I just returned for 7 nights at the Reserve. It was by far more than I could ever have expected. There was not one thing I would have changed, except maybe coming home. The staff is by far the best part of this experience. From meeting us at the door with a cool drink when we arrived to placing us in the taxi when the left, the phrase "my pleasure" was truly meant. They were not pushy but were available at our every want. I had read some negative comments about the food from previous posts. I will say we didn't eat anything that was not great. Mole, Aqua, Vento and Passion were all great. I will say that Passion is an experience everyone should have. Thank you to the grounds keepers, maids, waiters, drinky drinky man, and everyone at There Reserve for an amazing vacation. We will definitely be back.
We had an excellent time at The Reserve Paradisus Punta Cana. We are a family with a toddler, teenager and grandma and everybody loved it. The staff is amazing, helpful and friendly. Food is very good, fresh and room service very efficient. We were glad to stay at The Reserve, its more quiet and relaxing then the main resort at the beach in our opinion. Sure we want to go back.
I am a Club Melia member since 2008 and stayed at The Reserve Paradisus Palma Real from 6/28 to 7/5. This used the be one of my favorite Melia Properties but I am disappointed at how the quality of the resort has diminished. This was our second time at the Palma Real and our first time staying at the Reserve and from all the fantastic reviews I was excited and looking forward to my stay. I will list the pros first since those are few.ProsProperty - the property is gorgeous at both the Reserve and main part of the resort.Pool - clean, warm and never seemed crowded at both Reserve and main resort. Seating at main resort was a different story. See cons section.Kids Zone - proximity to the Reserve is extremely convenient. I just had to walk out of my room whenever I had to pick up my girls. If I was at main resort I'd have to walk the 10 minutes or wait for the golf cart ride. The counselors are fantastic. Special shout out to Carlos, Francisca, Samantha and Candy.Concierge Service Desk - our assigned concierge Irvin was a no show for most of our stay more of that in cons. The ladies at the Concierge Service Desk for section 43 were fantastic and made our trip special thanks to Heidy Rivera and Tacha Michaud. They hadn't arrived when we checked out so apologies to them since we didn't get a chance to say goodbye or give them the tip they so rightly deserved. ConsAssigned Concierge - part of staying at The Reserve is that you get an assigned Concierge. Our was Irvin who was useless to say the least. He introduced himself when we checked in. Said he'd come by the next day to find out what excursion we would like to book but that never happened. After that we ran into him twice by chance not because he was looking for us. Saw on trip advisor how for other guest Concierges set up bubble baths for the kids and leaves nighly treats. We got none of that. Whenever we needed anything like dinner reservations and milk for my little one Heidy and Tacha were there for us.Food - My husband and I are picky eater but until this stay we have never had an issue with the food at any of the Melia/Paradisus properties.Buffet - There was no variety at both the Reserve and main resort. They served the same food everyday. Teppinaki - The teppinaki chef was not entertaining at all. The chefs at the other tables were swinging knives around and joking with the guest. Our didn't make an effort at all and the food wasn't good.Raw - The skirt steak which I ordered medium well was like rubber. Olio - For an Italian restaurant how is mac & cheese w/ bacon an Italian entree on the adult menu.At that point we took our chances at the buffet for the rest of the trip without having to be on a schedule. Entertainment - Nightly shows at the main resort was a bit dated but fun. I noticed all the fun activities were happening at the main resort. The Gabi Club at the Reserve was dead but the main resort was jumping. They even had a inflatable pool slide at main pool for the kids.Circle by Melia - please don't fall for this. The vacation club is more $ and aggravation then it's worth. I normally try to avoid them but a rep finally caught up to us. Miguel said that my current option plan would cease to exist and I should attend to get info on how it would affect my membership. After hearing that and him offering Melia dollars so we could buy up to $150 at the gift shop we attended. Of course we lost 1/2 a previous day on their sales pitch for us to convert to their Circle by Melia membership which doesn't affect our membership if we decided not to upgrade.Upon check out we were given a hard time applying the Melia dollars to the purchase Miguel said to charge to our room then pay w/ the Melia dollars.Pool seating - no problem at the Reserve but nothing at the main resort if you don't grab your spot early.
I have never been a fan of resorts but The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana changed that. This was the perfect kind of getaway we needed.Beautiful resort. We loved our spacious room with jacuzzi. good size balcony. The beds were creatively made each day. That was a nice touch! We had access to several pools and a gym.Excellent WiFi. The beach was literally walking distance (less than 10 mins). The entire staff was so friendly, very attentive, and funny too. Yaritza Rodriguez and Maria Arias were simply charming, very attentive to our needs, and friendly. Our best Bartenders Silvia Ademan and Juan Diego with their warm smiles, quick wits and fabulous tropical drinks made this vacation even sweeter for us. We were pleasantly surprised at the many activities the staff had available for guests. We saw a couple shows. We enjoyed the water aerobics taught by Luis. Luis and the other entertainment staff made sure we didn't miss any entertainment during our stay. The quality of service we received was beyond our expectations. This was the perfect place to have fun and feel relaxed. I highly recommend this resort.
This review is for the paddle board yoga and exercise class in the pool. Eduardo did an excellent job getting us all involved and even did a short class for the kids at the end. All fitness levels participated. We all had our own paddle board, but we were tied up together to a central circle. Highly recommend!!
