This last weekend, visit this aparthotel, the welcome was good, we were received at the reception with a cold towels to placate the heat of the trip, everything was fast we were served very efficiently. Upon entering the 3-room apartment, super spacious, all organized, and hygienic, well-used spaces, the kitchen complete with everything you need, the bathrooms were 3 and a half all with water, not counting the breathtaking view of foreign exchange. the Bay of Samaná.I really liked the way the apartments are distributed architecturally, never imagine that the place would be so big, the exteriors are well cared for and you feel safe walking around the complex, as there is surveillance and the employees have a very good attitude and courtesy throughout moment.I loved this place, since I can return with my family.
Clearly they don't know or care what a SERVICE DOG is and does. They claim to be SERVICE DOG friendly but when I walked in to the restaurant to have breakfast and the waiter, restaurant manager, and hotel manager stopped me at the door and denied my SERVICE DOG entrance. I guess they don't care about their customers health at all. Never coming back here.
So thrilled to have found this place! Absolutely beautiful! Sweeping ocean views from everywhere. You can't go wrong. A small clean private beach and 2 pools with amazing views. The apartment was comfortable and the balcony was amazing! But beware...Place isn't for old people or people with limited mobility. The place is on a steep cliff and you really need to be good at climbing up & down to go the restaurant or beach. But, if you can do this, you'll love this gem!
We are currently staying at the resort. When we had the travel agent make the reservations we specifically requested a place near the beach. Upon arrival we were place literally in the furthest unit from the beach. While we did not know it at the time it appears that we are hear in the off-season. This seems like it would make it easier to make the move. Instead, we were informed that because of other reservations, they cannot honor the original request and they apologized for the mix up. Oh well, we have a policy of enjoying what we have so we moved on and started setting up in our three bedroom/four bath suite. I first had to go around with a butter knife and re-attach almost half the door knobs in the suite since they where just about ready to fall off due to loose screws. We decided to take showers to relax from the long flights but could not because the hot water heater was not working. We called maintenance. They showed up fairly quickly (half an hour) and it took about another half an hour to fix. While they were there, I asked if they could replace four of the burnt out light bulbs that were in our kitchen since it left only one working. He said he would replace it the next day but as of day three we still are cooking in the kitchen with hardly any light. We have been doing mostly off-property activities so far but yesterday came back to use the amazing pool on the property. While in at the pool we decided to get drinks. The pool has two levels that are literally a full story apart. To get to the bar you have to walk up to a third story. Keep in mind we are one of two families staying on the property right now, so the small wait staff is literally standing around just talking whenever we show up. I walked up the two full set of stairs to the top deck to ask for mohitos for our group and was told they do not make them. No problem, I ask for a drink menu to show the rest of my group. I then walk back down the two stories to show my group the drink menu. In most places this would be a clear indication that we would like to order drinks. It took the group about five minutes to make a selection. After a 20 minute wait I walked back up the two stories to request drink orders from one of the two barmaids that were sitting by the bar exchanging stories. I was informed that some of the drinks that I ordered could not be made because they did not have the ingredients. WTF! Why give me a menu list if it is not a real menu list? This time I asked if they could follow me down and take the drink orders so that I could swim instead of doing stairs. The service came with a little bit of attitude and mixed drinks that appeared to have little flavor, no alcohol. Even guests that ordered the same drinks received concoctions that tasted completely different from each other. Most everyone was smiling and pleasant but the service was severely lacking. The accommodations could definitely impress if they were maintained. From the mini mart on site that essentially has chips and sunscreen and never appears to be open to the reception desk person that only seems to be able to recommend the onsite restaurant and mini-mart (that is always closed) this resort falls far from the mark. Maybe during regular season they have different staff or at least a different attitude but in this time period (first part of June) I would highly recommend staying somewhere that does not act like they are closed for the season.
Stayed with thefamily and had a really good time.. The apartment had an unvelivable view of the Samana Bay, the rooms were huge and beds were comfortable.. We visited Whats probably DR's best beach in Playa Rincon
