Awesome Experience

It was a great hotel for couples. The staff were very caring, In the Ola Bar Adeline treat us like royalty she made the best Emotions with Barcelo Añejo, Pablo was the spark of fun at that bar. The animation crew was super involve in the day activities Jose, Argelis, Delvis, Ruth and their crew chief was the best team of animation that we have ever encounter on our trips. For anyone who visits try the drink Brugal Extra Viejo with Apple juice tell Isaias VIP Member Send you. Its exquisite.

The best experience ever!!!

The best hotel I'd been in DR!! Beautiful beach,fun activities, awesome staff and delicious food. I really love all the decorations they have.The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. I really enjoyed this getaway!!!

Small, clean and friendly!

I loved this getaway! I was looking for a small resort and this had everything going for it! The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Free wifi was impressive. The beach front had dogs that were very friendly and would sometimes join us for an Oceanside walk. The ocean is not too far of a walk, literally across the hotel. Pool and food were wonderful.

Below expectations

I stayed at this resort for 12 days on business and was expecting a much nicer experience. The grounds and pool area were immaculately maintained and from the outside, it looks like a fabulous resort. But my main issues were the food and room. The buffets had plenty of food to choose from, but the quality of food was subpar. I spent most of the time sick from the food. Even the beach grill bar was pretty bad. Everything was overcooked and had no flavor. The alcoholic drinks were also unpredictable. One drink would be made well but the next drink was very bad. There was very little consistency in making the drinks. Also the service was extremely slow. I would have to pour my own glass of water half the time and expected more prompt service at a resort like this.The rooms were also just average. They reminded me of a typical hotel room with nothing special. the sheets on my bed were not comfortable at all and the mattress was hard as a rock. Wifi service was also very spotty as it would go in and out throughout the day and wouldn't work half the time in the room. Overall I would be hesitant to give this resort 3 stars.

The beautiful Juan Dolio DR

Holiday from June 23rd to June 30th 2017 in block 5 on the 3rd floorThe staff is very kind warm hearted and hard working.. Especially the housemaid! Rooms are spectacular no matter the view and everything functioned except the phone. Wifi access everywhere on the resort from your room to the beach. If you were missing any amenities in your room, the staff was more than welcome to accommodate your needs. The beds were so comfortable the best I have seen in the DR. The hotel grounds are fantastic. There is no swamp water or bad smell as I have experienced at other hotels.. no mosquitos!Special mention of certain employees who went the extra mile to give a true Dominican hospitality. The waiter Dionisio is a gem! He went out of his way to ensure we were completely satisfied and service with respect and warmth and a beautiful smile! I will truly miss him! The other staff members who were exceptional are Ralphael & Franklin the waiters and Raflin at the coffee shop! BEST COFFEE I have ever had in the Caribbean! The Snack Bar.. what can I say! Roberto & Raphel went out of their way to ensure we were happy with anything they could do… two sweethearts! The Disco was best in the weekend when only Dominican music would play and I never danced so much! Especially with my dancing partner the bartender Tony! I was sad to see him leave for his dias libres!!! A very special mention to Jean the Guest Services Manager.. A true gem! Very respectful hospitable and helpful! He is the best! And ensured we were able to have a late checkout.. went out of his way to ensure we were ok and even on our travels through the resort we would see him and he would always acknowledge us with a hello! Very kind soul! The food at the buffet was great and the staff there were very helpful to ensure we got what we wanted or needed... the Dominican restaurant was phenomenal! Best Sancocho in the Dominican! The only two of the animation team that made my stay also enjoyable were Angel & Ruth. Ruth made sure if I didn’t have a dance partner she danced with me.. so sweet.Now for the negatives… First the beach area just needs a little more attention to cleaning… especially around the chairs and where the canopies are.The main pool needs to be cleaned more than usual, especially after the weekends when the hotel is at capacity or after a day of a large group… Thursday June 29th I couldn’t go in the pool there was scum floating on the surface.Check out was terrible… first of all we kept calling for the bellboy to come get our bags and in the end a person from Travel Gold helped us! We had to wait in line to check out and when we did finally get to the front desk to hand in our keys and pay our fees for late check out we mentioned that for check out there should be a separate line, as our bus to take us to the airport was waiting. We were told there is but an employee standing to the side instructed us to wait in line… the person checking us out apologized profusely.Next the worse of the worse… I have never ever been so insulted by two of the animation team.. I am the first to admit that my Spanish is not good and my verbs are terrible, however, I do not need a person of the animation team to stand there and make fun of me and laugh at me in front of other guests. Mr. Franklin or FUK was completely unprofessional and rude! I made sure I told him in which of course he denied.... and debated with me again in front of other guests. Next Mr. Melvin whom I named La Cuenta, coming to me with his advances which I refused endlessly … Telling me he wanted me & I kept telling him I was not interested at all … he had a friend he could rent a car for 2800 pesos and that to go to another hotel for 2500 pesos a night that of course he expected me to pay….. Now this is where I got RUDE! And told him to leave me alone. I’ve been to the Dominican Republic more than 10 times, and I’ve had my fair share of somewhat similar approaches.. but to this extent to when I refused he became obnoxious and aggressive towards me. I didn’t want to make a fuss with the hotel management as I was on vacation and didn’t want to make trouble for us as we are two women traveling alone.I have tried to go on the hotel's website to send them my review but the site crashes and the fax number doesn't answer....
