Casa Marina Reef Resort
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
This is my first review with Trip Advisor. I travel quite frequently and always have positive experiences with my stays around the world with hotels and resorts. I do not write trip reviews but after my last experience at the Casa Marina, I was compelled to inform people what to expect from this Resort. Background:I was staying at this resort from June 20-June 28th, 2017. This was the third time at the resort and it appears that each time I stay here, the service goes downhill. Room:I was staying on the Reef side which was a far walk from the lobby as the middle part of the resort was under construction. The first night I was there, I was swarmed by mosquitoes in the room. The patio door had a gap of almost an inch when the doors were closed allowing mosquitoes to enter the room. I reported this to the receptionist and asked to speak to the manager and she refused for me to speak to the manager. She said someone will fix the door. 6 hours later, I return to the room to find that nothing was done. I walked to the reception again and asked to speak to the manager and she refused. She told me again someone would fix it. 30 hours later, they fixed the door but now I can't open the patio door. Also, there was mold all over the closet door mirror and the lamp shades were covered in mold. I had issues with the room card several times and I had to have the card reprogrammed. This was a nuisance due to the ten minute walk each time from my room to the lobby. FoodThe food has also gone downhill since my last trip. Buffet was below average. Usually, the resort has late night food at midnight which included pizza, fries, burgers etc. This trip, there were serving 2 pieces of bread with a thin slice of meat. I also witnessed on of the workers dropping a salad serving tongs on the ground and picking up the tongs and placing it on top of the salad. Once I seen this happen, I stopped eating at the buffet and went to some really good restaurants offsite.Customer Service:Management wasn't interested in my complaints or resolving any complaint. For being my 3rd trip in a year to this resort, I would of expecting abit more class from the management team. Conclusion:I am travelling again to Puerto Plata in October and have booked a solid hotel. I would recommend for everyone to be cautious before booking this hotel. This hotel in my opinion is a two star hotel.
I loved the view. Again the staff especially Esmeralda, great customer service. My boyfriend and I stayed for 6 nights. We went snorkeling in Sosua which was amazing. I recommend only places I have truly enjoyed in the Dominican Republic. Thanks again
it is 3 stars hotel, but it is better then 4/5 in other locations. Food is very nice, a lot of fish meals and great deserts. Both beach like a dream. We like that place, and would like to say big thanks to all staff!
I wanna start off by saying the view of this place is amazing! All of the staff were very friendly and outstanding also the food there is great. This is a perfect place to go and relax for vacation I fell in love the moment I got there. If you're a beach person this is definitely the place for you! Last but not lease , one special shout out to this one staff member I met name Yurii she's has one of the best personalities and very energized.
I stayed here for a week and was impressed at how great the customer service was. Everyone from the manager to the bartender to the cleaning ladies and random people painting things or maintaining the property were so friendly. The food was good, the pools were clean and the rooms for were well kept. I didn't pay for a safe and honestly based on the environment didn't need it. This definitely made for a friendly environment where a noticable positive energy seemed to spread across the hotel. First and foremost this hotel caters to families and is very safe.
