All Seasons Nice Vieux Port

We chose this hotel for it's secure, underground car park (€14 per day) for our classic car in which we had driven down to Nice. The hotel is also right in between the old port or Nice and the old town, just behind Castle Hill Park. It is 15-20 minutes pleasant walk to the beach and promenade. There are no pleasant views as it's in a narrow street, our room at the back was surprisingly quiet and I suspect the front rooms are noisier especially if you like to open the windows. The hotel is modern and efficient with friendly, multi-lingual staff. It has 2 lifts, a bar and lounge area and the rooms are quite spacious and up to date with comfortable beds. The air conditioning was a little lacking in power we found as it was positioned above the door to the room so it's flow was restricted by the bathroom wall. That said, I do like a very cold room and it was perfectly adequate for September nights. The shower area was large with a useful tiled bench to sit on (handy for shaving legs!). Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the foyer and a varied continental breakfast is included in the room rate. We liked this Ibis Styles so much that we stayed for two extra nights to enjoy Nice. Highly recommended.
WE have stayed at this hotel many times (In fact under 4 previous owners such as Mr Beds, Comfort Hotel, Ibis and Ibis Styles) This latest visit was the best so far. An excellent extension to the dining area
Won't exactly call this a "perfect" location but it is relatively easy to get to the different parts of Nice from here, all within 10min walking distance to places like the Vieux Port, Cours Selaya, Promenade dea Anglais. As for Place Massena shopping area and the train station, the tram station is just behind the hotel and few stops away to those 2 locations. Carpark is small and tight, not suitable for cars bigger than a Ford Focus or Skoda Rapide equivalent, as the slope from street level to the upper level carpark is narrow, many cars have left paint marks on the curbs. Inside the carpark, lanes and parking spaces are narrow, you will have to keep adjusting your car position for you to enter your lot. Carpark costs 14 euros per day. Streetside parking is hard to find but not impossible, depends on luck, still chargeable but free on sundays and after certain times on weekdays.Room was basic, no safe, no fridge, no bathtub, no swimming pool, no kettle or coffee/tea. You will need to go down to the bar if you need anything to drink, which is rather bad for the price you are paying. Was surprised they only gave one bottle of 500ml drinking water for 2 guests to share, yes that's what the receptionist said when I asked for another bottle chargeable at 2 euros. Other than that, you have other basic necessities in the room. Croissants and hot drinks are provided in the lobby during the day for all guests. Breakfast is a basic standard French breakfast, included in the room price. You will need to use your own towel for the beach as the hotel does not allow their towels to be used at the beach. I only got told after I asked for a replacement towel for my wet beach towel. The least the hotel could do is provide beach towels for guests, this is Nice after all, people do go to the beach and it is time for Ibis to realise that.
We have just spent 4 days here. While the hotel is in a good location, and we found the room clean, there are a number of aspects which we would like to point out to the TripAdvisor community:1. There is no fridge in the room2. The towels are of poor quality3. The safe in the room requires a 25 euro deposit and costs 4 euro per day4. The breakfast is of poor quality, and the breakfast area is poorly set out. The first Sunday we came down to chaos. Cups and cutlery were not clean.5. The light in the corridor on the 4th floor was broken for a couple of days so it was quite dark coming out of the lift.Overall, we are hesitant to recommend this hotel as we have come to the conclusion that it is not good value for money.
Not at the best location concerning the distance from the beach and the old town.. Very poor breakfast in a dirty area as the service is too poor..almost self service!! Private parking inside the building so unreasonably expensive... Rooms without refrigerator and minibar..
