We stayed here with 2 other couples in 3 apartments in October. We stayed 4 nights. The apartments are nicely furnished with comfortable beds and a good bathroom. There was a kitchenette too, with a table and chairs. The apartments we stayed in were superior studio apartments so were a reasonable size and large enough for a few days. We also had a balcony which was nice. The property has laundry facilities which is also a bonus and there was a drying rack in the room. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is about two blocks back from the promenade. The apartments were clean apart from some stains on the carpet. The price was reasonable for the French Riviera for apartment type accommodation. We would be happy to stay again.
Good: Our kitchen was well equipped, with pots, frypan & all you would need to self-cater. Also, a cleaning dishes pack & tea towel (which is lacking in other apt-hotels we have stayed in, in France). Our bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioning keeps the room comfortable. The TV had several English channels and the WiFi worked well. You can get the lift right down to the parking basement which makes it easy to unload your car). Good location- easy walk to beach & nice walk to Old Town either along the beach promenade or along the next street over with shops & restaurants. Bad: Getting to the apartment by car was a bit of a problem due to road-works. The check-in man was the rudest we have struck, when we said that we had requested a car space he abruptly informed us that car spaces cannot be reserved & are a ‘first in – first served’ basis (this is not what the Booking.com site says). Imagine if you ‘booked’ a car space and they said there were none available on your arrival?. Our one-bedroom Superior Studio apartment was a good size, but not practical as no-where to put a suitcase or unpack your belongings when staying longer than overnight. The apartment could do with an update as looking tired.
It is a very old building. Not renovated at all! Despite the high price they charge the service is nothing. They don't even change the towels etc. Staff not so friendly. Elevator is terrible! Location is good and close to beach and city center.
Just got back from a week at the Residhome on a very enjoyable trip to Nice. We booked this place through Thomas Cook's flexitrips and whilst it is not, nor does it claim to be, 5 star luxury it does have a lot of things going for it. We had one of the small studios and, yes, it was small! (gap between the edge of the bed and the wall one side and TV table the other 18" max) What I was not expecting, and this may well be because I had failed to read the small print, was that the bed was a sofa bed and the appartment was really just a room. That said, the bed was large and very comfortable and we did not bother to pack it away into the sofa each day as you would have had to take off the duvet etc, and where to put that? However, to be fair, the room was exactly as in the photos on the website so no complaints there. The studio had a very good, well equipped and clean kitchen area, so it would be perfectly possible to cater for yourself here. We just did breakfasts and ate in the several nice friendly restaurants nearby on the Promenade des Anglais. The place was clean and for the price we paid, very good alround value. One of the really good things about the Residhome, if you are a beach fan like me, is its proximity to the sea front, 3-4 mins walk from the beach - great. I used the Blue Beach (private) but there is plenty of public beach there too. A "stroll" into the old town would take you a bit longer, 20-30 mins, but if you are not feeling energetic there are loads of busses that pass Residhome, or on the Promenade and at a flat fare of E1.5 you can't complain. A word of warning though, a lot of the bus services seem to stop at 21.30 at night! We went to eat out in the old town and got caught out - had to take a not so reaonable E20 taxi back! The staff at Residhome are excellent, couldn't be more friendly and helpful and - speak good English and v patient with those of us whose French isn't up to much. They are happy to answer any queries about bus services and the like and also to book you on any of the wide range of trips and activities advertised in the lobby. The entrance area to the hotel has clearly been recently renovated and is clean and modern and I think a programme of renovation is going on in the hotel, but as I said, the rooms are as on the website, unlike some places I have stayed. You can get breakfast here but we only bothered once as, although it was OK it was E10.50 each and for that you can buy yourself supplies for the week from the handily placed Lidl shop (come out of the hotel, turn left, in the road opposite, Rue Dante, on the right). Nice is a great place to stay and there are plenty of interesting places to visit and residhome makes a great affordable base. One last tip, visit the rather oddly named "solarium" on floor 8 of the hotel - its a roof garden/terrace with sun loungers etc and lovely.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean even though reading other reviews some people had problems with their rooms but mine was spotless, no complaints there. The well equipped kitchenette was great for cooking breakfast. Only minutes walk to Premanade de Anglais and 15 minutes walk to the old town and train station. It's a basic hotel but if your looking for a nice place to rest at night after a long day exploring Nice, Monaco and the surrounding area then this place is ideal. No room cleaning or towel change, the WiFi was unreliable continually dropping the connection.
