Mercure Promenade des Anglais
- What's Included
Location: Promenade des Anglais, Old Nice.
My husband and I just visited Nice for the first time and booked into the Mercure on Promenade des Anglais for four days The staff were so cheerful and polite during our four days stay. The room was huge and the bed a comfortable double bed breakfast was delicious! The hotel in directly opposite a lane full of cafes and restaurants plus little stores that see fruit, alcohol and groceries. I would love to go back one day . I highly recommend this hotel . I would like to thank Mr. Jean Jacques for his help in booking tours and finding locations and his smiling face that I will never forget . Thank you all for your perfect service .
It's convenient, but not luxurious - depending on what you're looking for - not full service - we came from the Fairmont in Monte Carlo,so... parking is underneath hotel in garage - It is within walking to everything you need - Beach across the road - restaurants within walking distance (went to Hard Rock), then shopsm and we went in a store and got drinks and snacks on the side street - We were there for only one night, so sufficient and convenient - but room smelled a bit musty and didn't seem as clean at it should - bedding was old and stained - not the best of Mercure properties ~
My husband and I just visited Nice for the first time and booked into the Mercure on Promenade des Anglais for 7 nights. We booked a standard double room. We are Accor Gold members and on check in we're given 2 free drinks vouchers which is the norm for gold members however the hotel did not have a bar. They have a fridge in reception containing beers and small wines. The room was clean but very basic. I have to say the purple coloured walls in the bathroom weren't very nice. The mini bar was empty and was never replenished during our stay. The breakfast room is quite small and at times became very over crowded. The breakfast was nice though with a good selection however one toaster wasn't enough for the entire hotel. That said the location of this hotel is fantastic with everything within walking distance i.e. The old town, the port and the beach. We enjoyed our week in Nice and will definitely return however will probably stay somewhere else next time. Great location and great for a couple of nights but don't expect luxury.
The staff were so cheerful and polite during our three day stay. The room was huge and the bed a comfortable soft double bed. Our room was not facing the Mediterranean ocean but we could see the ocean from our balcony. Our room was extremely clean and breakfast was delicious! The hotel in directly opposite a lane full of cafes and restaurants plus little stores that see fruit, alcohol and groceries. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel.
As a Platinum Le Club AccorPlus member, who stays for several months a year in Accor Hotels all over the world, this recent stay was the worst I have ever experienced. The location was excellent but the facilities very poor and the value terrible. When you are paying around EUR300 per night you would expect far superior accommodations and far better recognition and treatment. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
