Adagio Buttes Chaumont
- What's Included
My wife and I used this apart-hotel as our base for a two week holiday in Paris. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and the staff spoke English which helped my wife as her French language skills extend to "Patisserie and Gateaux" ( she survives!). The facilities were good, the room had a lounge area although the sofa was actually a pull out extra bed and could do with being a bit more comfortable for people who are staying for more than just a short break. The small kitchen had a microwave and a 4 ring hob for cooking and had a fridge, kettle, coffee maker and a dish washer. There is an on site laundry facility which uses coin operated machines and ironing facilities were included in the room. The bathroom / shower was equipped with a hair dryer and a supply of basic toiletries. The room was cleaned and bed changed once a week for bookings lasting over 1 week and was well done. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Basic internet access is included and available in each room and you can upgrade for a small weekly fee. I registered for the free one but when I tried to upgrade to the paid service neither I nor the staff could reset it so I had to wait for the week to run out to upgrade for the second week but the connection was not much better. TV is in French with some channels catering to other nationalities but i could not access any in English. The location was in a quiet traffic free road, gated at each end but publicly accessible. There is a supermarket within 100 metres which was very good for us as we self catered,( there is a breakfast available at the hotel for an additional cost but we never tried it so can't really comment). Transport is easily accessible nearby as there are 3 Metro stations within a 5 minute walk. My wife is a wheelchair user and we found the Metro impossible to use so we resorted to the bus service which was a 5 min walk from the hotel and 1 bus took us directly to the centre of Paris (stops just beside the Louvre) The buses cater well for disabled passengers, every bus is accessible and there is a reserved space for wheelchairs. The hotel was near a very nice park ( it's named after it) and there is a primary school across the road from it so there was some noise during the day but it was the happy sound of children enjoying themselves. There was some noise from the street at night but this was again children playing. We enjoyed our stay and found it good value.
The apartment hotel is excellent with a great location near the Park Buttes Chaumont. This would be a great vacation. There is easy access to the metro Botzaris. Near the metro there is a great Boulangerie which is a 3minute walk from the hotel. The park has many walking/running trails that lead to scenic views of the city of Paris. Beds are comfortable and the staff is courteous. I don't recommend the hotel breakfast because it is not fresh and costs 12 Euros. There are small kitchens in the hotel rooms with coffee makers and a water boiler. The hotel does not clean rooms daily. Only every 8 days.
I say surprised as walking from Jourdain metro the area seemed a bit in need of some TLC. The moment we got to the apartments all fears went as the staff were friendly and the reception was clean and family friendly. The room was perfect for us and the cot was all ready for my 9 month old. My older daughter (9) found enough to keep her occupied. All the facilities a family need were available. The best part was the amount of good restaurants and a supermarket 2 mins away, if you cannot be bothered with the 10 mins metro trip to the centre.Overall a really good experience.
We recently stayed here in a two bed apartment after being upgraded by reception. The staff also let us check on early which was very much appreciated having arrived after a long flight. The apartment was very spacious with a great kitchen meaning we could cook meals rather than going out all the time. The near by park is absolutely beautiful with multiple playgrounds for children. Whilst you are a bit further away from the main attractions it was nice to be away from crowds and there are a number of metro stations within walking distance . All up a great stay with a young family and good value for Paris.
I have stayed for 2 nights with my family. Cons : nice staff, internet, covered parking- especially important in this part of Paris, not far from metro station, near the park (do not go there in the late evening)Against: We have arrived late in the night with small kids. Hotel not signed, you can not park next to reception even for check-in as there is no place for. I haven't feel safe in this area. Entrance not very welcoming. Nice staff in reception but you are to pay during check-in, rather strange in hotels. A lot of problem with parking: one door not working, another doors you should find next street (again no hotel signs) - you should rent remote for 50 Euro.Appartament simple, clean, but a bit old.Generally overpriced.
