Conveniently Located Hotel

Ideally located for nearby conference venue and relatively close to major city sites like Champs Élysées. Competitively priced and well equipped kitchen for self catering. Hotel room overlooked avenue and had good light from high windows.

Good location, average experience

We stayed in the Adagio Paris Haussmann on a trip up from Toulouse to register our daughter's birth abroad. We lived in the Adagio in Toulouse (no joke) for over a year due to my husband's job, and the service there is great, so our expectations were high.We stayed in one of the studio rooms, which was small but clean. Just enough for our weekend trip. It had a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and little cook top. The view from the window was of Haussmann blvd. The hotel (as with many hotels in Europe it seems) is not accessible--and by that I mean for anyone in a wheelchair, with a stroller or even with lots of bags. There is a flight of stairs to get up before even reaching the elevator. This is hard when you are lugging several suitcases and a stroller with a newborn. There is also no onsite parking (and the closest parking doesn't have an elevator up from the lower floors), so just consider that if you travel heavy (or, as in our case, with a baby). The staff were nice enough, but lacked the true friendliness and helpfulness that we were used to in Toulouse. So that, along with the accessibility challenges, make this an average stay. Certainly not bad, but not the best we've stayed at either.

Good location, nice place to stay

We stayed here in June 2012 for 5 days. It is a walk around the corner from the metro. There are some restaurants nearby. We ate at one braisserie one evening. Close to monoprix where we picked up cheese, bread, juice, and yogurt. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We shared the queen bed. Nice view of Haussmann Boulevard from our balcony. There was a microwave, mini fridge, sink, electric tea kettle, coffee machine, 2 ceramic stove burners, utensils, dishes, and a dishwasher. The dw didn't work too well though. Bathroom was very modern with granite and even a warming towel rack. Staff helped us take our luggage down the stairs of the lobby before catching our car service back to the airport. We enjoyed our stay here during our first trip abroad.

It would have been 5 stars...

I would have happily given 5 stars to this hotel if it wasn't for the experience I had at check-out. Summary: good place to stay if you can check-in and check-out during a reasonable time, probably between 9AM-7PM. If not, I recommend that you look for somewhere else. The hotel is located close enough to places, Metro station, nice boulangeries, market, restaurants (although they all seem to close early!!!), etc. Walking distance to Champs-Elysees, which means walking distance (if you are a walker) to many tourist attractions. This was my first time in Paris along with my friends, and we were so excited that we were able to book our own rooms for such good price! The room is huge!! It has a queen (?) size bed, desk, mini desk, closet, little kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electronic kettle), bathroom with bath/shower. It was just super roomy! It could have held 3 twin size beds and all 3 of us could have shared a room (but always so nice to have your own room!!). Check-in was simple. None of us knew any French, but the nice man at the front--think his make is Ludvig (?) (BTW, there is only ONE person at the front at any time. One desk, one person!) checked us in, gave us suggestions on simple things like where the market is and a nice boulangerie for a croissant and coffee. There is no room service or cleaning, but I actually prefer that. If I needed more towels or anything, I can just call or pick it up at the front (again, there is only one person at the front always, so could be a bit inefficient.)I really liked the place, and would have given 5 stars, until the check out.We checked out at 5:30AM. We checked out at 5:30AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 (Paris time).A man was at the front desk, but I suspect that he's more of a security person. He took our keys, that's it. He seemed to have punched in something on the computer, but no print out or anything. We asked several times if we get anything (like a receipt) or if we need to sign anything. He said no.We asked that he call a taxi since the nice lady at the front desk the night before said that they can do that. She told us that there is a flat fee to CDG airport and that I can "book" that (meaning, they will call the cab) and they will give me a receipt.Sounds all legit and good. BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED.The man sitting at the front at 5:30AM on January 4, 2017 called a cab, but probably his friend. We told him about what the nice lady told us night before. That there's a little booklet that holds receipts. He seems to get a little angry at this. He told us, as he showed us his little notebook with phone numbers that it makes no difference. That we are still getting taxi. Same thing, he repeated. We asked for a receipt for the taxi (we did not pay anything), he says no. Overall, super duper shady. The taxi comes, the driver exchanged a handshake-hug and some words with the man at the front desk (5:30AM, Jan 4, 2017) and helped us.The taxi ran on meters. It was supposed to be flat 60 euros. It read 67,50 euros when we got to the airport.Told him that we were told that it was going to cost 60 euros. He says "no no.. OK, 62 euros". I don't know how we were able to get such a great discount (sarcasm). Tried to pay with credit card. NO CREDIT CARD, CASH ONLY.We were leaving that morning, and we did not have much cash on us. All taxi we used in Paris took credit card! He took all of our money, which was 52 euros. And he asked for USD $. He took $20 USD and finally let us off. So we paid way over 62 euros, which was supposed to be 60 euros (in credit card) if the hotel's front desk person (at 5:30AM, Jan 4, 2017) was not being shady and calling his friend instead of following procedures. These two men (front desk person at 5:30AM on Jan 4, 2017 and his taxi driver friend) left such bad taste that I actually hated the hotel and Paris! I had a great time in Paris and liked the hotel so much, and these 2 men ruined it all. I calmed down a bit, but still worried about the check-out that really didn't happen. I will try to call the hotel.Again, in sum, great place to stay!!!! Great place if you can check-out between 9AM and 7PM. Otherwise, find somewhere else who actually has trained employer who will help you with professionalism. So disappointed :(
