You cannot go wrong with Citadines. Its a 5 minutes walk to any metro. And there are so many places to eat around the corner. We even walked to the louvre, the muse d'orsay. Its walkable to many tourist places. The free coffee at the reception area is a nice touch especially during winter. They even arranged airport transfer for us.
My husband and I stayed here in Jan for 2 nights in Deluxe Studio, on 4th floor. This place was fantastic! Clean, warm and inviting and has everything you need! The deluxe studio was more than enough for just my husband and I. First off, the location is AMAZING! Metro is less than a block, and Norte dame is about 5 min walk, and louvre is about 10 min walk. Fantastic! Not to mention tons of restaurants, shops, grocery, etc locally. Loved that main door to hotel is locked 24/7 and requires your room key or buzzer to let you in. There are endless towels available in the community laundry room located next to reception. The free coffee/hot chocolate/espresso/etc machine in lobby is amazing and perfect way to start and end a day of touring. The room was amazing. Has everything you need. There was even a dishwasher with dishwasher soap tabs. Umbrella provided, coat closet. And some of the reviews I have read mention stuff that the place did not have, but I bet if they had asked the front desk then they would have found the place offered it. For example, one review mentions not having enough towels in the room, but we asked the front desk for more towels as well and found that the facility offered unlimited amount of towels to guests in a room located next to the reception area. I also saw that some reviews mention noise. I can't say that we noticed an excessive amount of noise, we live in NYC so it was normal amount of city nose in daytime and quiet with usual city noise of sirens here and there at night, but it wasn't anything like some cities. (Side note for those reviewers: We always travel with portable white noise machine as well, great investment for any traveler who can't stand noise :) ) This place was great and can't wait to stay in anther Citadines around the world!
We had a studio apartment overlooking the Seine on the 5th floor, which is one reason for the four stars. Another is the ability to walk almost anywhere that matters from the front door including the Opera Garnier, the Louvre, St Sulpice, Notre Dame and the Islands and the Marais. We do cook at least breakfast and sometimes dinner in apartments so it was important to find a relatively well set up kitchen. It is easy to shop well locally and the small Carrefour or Marks and Spencer food store provide the basics although I do think it might be useful for these places to provide a small kitchen starter pack (olive oil, salt, pepper) to save either bringing it with you as we did, or buying more than is required for a short stay. They did provided washing up liquid, tea towel and tablets for the dish washer, essentials that many rented apartments don't supply even though there is a dish washer available. The reception staff were helpful as was the rack of literature in the foyer and it was great being able to ask them to book cabs or make reservations. The apartments are serviced once a week, which we prefer as it meant that you did not have to prepare for cleaning every day.Quibbles - Would have liked bigger bath towels and two hand towels each rather than one. The entry foyer kept the noise down but would have been made more useful if it had been fitted with Coat hooks, especially as we visited in winter and needed to keep accessing big coats, hats and scarves. For what we had and where it was this was excellent value and we will return!
The Citadines was a great place to say. It is centrally located - we walked to the Louvre and Notre Dame. You could see the Eiffel Tower from the room we were in. There are a lot of shops and restaurants near by. The room was a little dated but quite comfortable for our family of four. There was a coffee machine in the lobby which was a godsend. The room had a microwave, refrigerater, cook top, dishes, dishwasher, and a skink. This made it easy to eat while we were in the room. A very nice stay over all.
So this hotel was in a great location. Just wish it was a bit nicer. Does not look like it has updated in several years. This does not mean it was bad, just looked dated. The room was clean and bathroom was in good shape. Nice coffee and hot chocolate maker in the lobby for a couple of the cold nights. Front desk was helpful as well. Lots of food options only about a block away which was great. Walking distance to The Louvre and Notre Dame.
