Perfect visit to Paris for Christmas

We loved our trip to Paris for in between Christmas and new year and this was certainly helped along by the ease of staying at Hotel Victor Hugo. Central location, far enough out of town to not be stupidly priced but close enough to walk everywhere or hop on the metro that’s about a 2 min walk away. Rooms are tiny but judging from other reviews, that’s a common theme in Paris. If you want to spend a lot of time in your hotel room then possibly not the best hotel for you but if you plan to explore Paris like most tourists then this is perfect.Sadly, we didn’t use the hotel bar so I cannot comment on that area, I did have a brief look at the drinks menu and they seemed to be roughly in line with what you’d expect to pay for the convenience of not having to leave the hotel. Room was cleaned daily and we were not disturbed by noise of the cleaners which is what usually happens in hotels of this size. No noise from neighbouring rooms either, other then a very loud child in the corridor at about 3am one morning but that cant be blamed on the hotel. Overall I’d rate the hotel a 4/5 with the only downside being the room size.

Over priced and terrible place to stay!

I visited Hotel Victor Hugo Kléber in Nov with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary and found that the hotel was terrible. We stayed here for 2 nights, and that’s MORE than enough time to spend in this place!! Firstly, we stayed in the ‘superior suite’ for a superior price, might I add, and it was the furthest thing from ‘superior’ that I have ever seen. Everything in the hotel is ridiculously overpriced, particularly the ‘bar’ in the lobby. Secondly, the staff are extremely rude, including the manager - it was shocking!! We experienced the height of their rudeness on our second night here when we rang reception in order to ask how much it would cost for a taxi to the Eiffel Tower. We were assured by receptionist that it would be no more than €5, so we asked her to book it for us, only to find that when we got in the taxi and arrived at the Eiffel Tower it cost us €21. This was outrageous as there was already a €7 reservation fee - something that the front desk should’ve been well aware of, on top of the fact she quoted us completely the wrong price! When we arrived back at the hotel we expressed our discontent, only the be laughed at!!!!!!! Not only this, the manager did absolutely nothing to solve the fact that his employee had just cost us an extra €16 than we were quoted, the best he could offer was to write down the name of a nice lunch restaurant, which didn’t get us our money back!!!! All in all a terrible place to stay, would not recommend!!!!

Ok hotel, I caught it on a bad day

I booked literally on the day and got a good rate which made it reasonable value but the advertised rate would not be. The room was a decent size for Paris, in a quiet street walking distance to champs elysees and Eiffel Tower. It had full height window, no street noise, ok decor, good wifi, nice enough communal areas, polite lady on the front deskThere were a few stains and scuffs, only one device allowed on the wifi at a time, noise carried from neighbouring rooms and builders were working on the floor above. The hot water failed which can happen to anyone. They sent me to a sister hotel for a hot shower which would have been a reasonable solution under the circumstances had I been offered use of a clean room which only happened when I refused the one with last night's guests' mess.There's a good bakery and small supermarket a block or so away.On a day with hot water and no builders, I would have been quite happy.

Blood / Feces on Shower Wall / Cleaning Walked in unannounced on me NAKED

First, the hotel never responded to a message sent 2 weeks prior to arrival.Checkin was ok, location was ok. Got to room and the shower was smeared with what appeared to be either feces or blood, spoke to cleaning crew, was not cleaned. Made the best of stay as was a short visit, already paid for and no other rooms were available. Management claimed it was paint although there was no paint in the bathroom and nothing near that color.Last morning, quite early, 3 hours before checkout, the cleaning woman walked in unannounced as I had just dropped my towel after my shower. Incredibly humiliating. Management did not reply to request for compensation, or my attempts to contact by email or website.

A Great Place to Stay

An amazing place to stay close to many attractions within in walking distance. Staff at the hotel were fantastic, very helpful and recognized that french was not our first language and spoke to us in english. The staff were very polite and accommodating to assist us with arranging a taxi to the airport on our day of departure.The room was excellent, clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is also located on a bus route so if you do not wish to walk to the landmarks you can certainly hop on the bus.If we ever return to Paris again we will be back to this hotel.
