Our room- 401- is fine. Some worry before about our first Paris stay quickly alleviated by those who work here. Each night we are greeted by the kindest man who makes sure we have enjoyed our day and insures we are awake for the next one!!! Provides great breakfast in special area . The Rue Cler area is alive and fun- like a community. Most sights are within walking distance and soon we mastered the metro.Great Italian restaurant- Gustav ( nearby) and Café le Rousillon ( around the corner)Recommend Sandeman ( free walking tour) to get oriented. You will be happy you stayed in this hotel if you like kind people who care about your enjoyment of their city.
after several days of searching, i found a relatively pocket friendly hotel near the eiffel tower. Description says its two steps away but even if im a giant, two steps would not be enough. The walk to champs de mars is quite nice as the hotel is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Next to champ de mars and the eiffel tower, your next to rue cler where shops abound - and if you are a cheese lover, go for a shopping spree at le fromagerie! We had to stay in the annex bldg which is just a few steps away from the main bldg. the space is Typical of Paris rooms - tight. We booked a triple room and with our big luggages, it was a challenge to have all of them open while moving inside the room. The room had a nice feel to it, with the colors resembling that of a spa. The room amenities were complete, i just wished they had a mini ref where i could store the cheese i bought. Next to the location, what i love about this hotel is the breakfast! The breakfast place is quite cool (check out the hotel website) and the selection and quality of food did not disappoint. We were ensured of a full stomach whenever we go out.
We stayed 4 nights at the Cadran in September and we would certainly stay there again if/when we are lucky enough to again visit Paris. We had previously stayed in the Rue Cler area but the Cadran couldn't be more conveniently located. First, it is so close to the Ecole Militaire metro station which makes it easy to get around the city and it's only a short walk to the Invalieds RER station. Bus stations are everywhere. You can walk to Eiffel, Rodin Museum, Napoleon's Tomb, etc. But it's the convenience of markets and restaurants and groceries and everything else in Rue Cler. Rooms were small but comfortable, the breakfast was very good and the people at the hotel were very helpful. You can buy a museum pass or metro tickets from the hotel, they can take care of all your needs during your stay.. I think the value for Paris is outstanding. We were on the fourth floor and it was very quiet.
As first timers to Paris, we booked Hotel Cadran based on a high recommendation from friends who had stayed there, and they didn't steer us wrong! Excellent location, easy walk to Eiffel Tower, Arch d'Triumph, and many other "must-see" locations. Excellent, accommodating staff, and the included breakfast was way beyond our expectations, delicious to say the least and served in the wonderful underground / arched top setting.
We stayed in the Hotel du Cadran during a trip to Paris over Bastille Day. The service was excellent, the breakfast was good, though the breakfast are was a little small, and the area the hotel was in was fantastic, with lots of cafes, restaurants and shops within walking distance. You could practically fall backwards into a good restaurant. The only reason I would not give this 5 stars was we stayed in the annex, which was not very convenient. We had to walk outside down a side street to get to the annex, where you had to enter a code to get into the rooms, there was no staff there, and the rooms were a little on the small side for a room for 3 people, but probably consistent with most European hotel we stayed at on our trip.
