The location of this hotel is the best thing about this hotel ... i did not use public transport so cant help there ! However , Marais is walking distance and the area is full of restaurants to eat and shopping and art galleries and gardens to just sit on a sunny yet cold Paris afternoon ;) . The other nice thing is that you can grab your dose of caffeine on your way out ( or in) at the lobby for free .So on a hectic day at work , you need'nt spend time on buying one at some cafe ....Now about the room itself ... the hotel is obviously old , so my air conditioner was NOT working and though it was pretty cold in Paris , indoors you do need the AC on for pure ventilation ! Since ours was not working , we just opened our windows in the night .. I did not complain because i had unpacked as soon as I arrived and only realised during the night that the aircon was not working , so did not want to pack and move etc etc ! Now about the linen .. it was clean ( dunked in bleach defi makes it "look" white and clean ) BUT it had a fishy smell :( .Yup pretty disgusting .. i didnt use it after the first time ... I was having a hard time in the night with the bed linen smell too -- I do realise and must add that it was not smelling bad because it was dirty but probably because they do not use a fabric conditioner post the washes !!! It smelt like a sanitised hospital !!And I think ( extremely important for me ) , Citadines surely has to train their staff at the lobby to greet and smile .. I am serious ! After a days work or shopping or whatever else you are doing , it would be nice like other Citadines , if you were to walk in to your hotel and be greeted by a smile and some kind words ! The staff at the lobby are very efficient but non-friendly and non-smiling . Having said that , the lady who checked us in was quite the darling ..though i did not see her again after that day ! All in all , i would still recommend tis hotel for its location and next time before unpacking - check the air conditioners , the linen , bedsheets and oh yesssss - the flooring ( it was so sticky that i was wearing shoes the whole time in the room ) .
We loved the location, so close to the metro and the free coffe was some of the best we had in our tour of France....and it was free! We always in to much of a rush for breakfast but it sure smelt good. The room was clean, spacious and had lots of storage. The pull out couch was two twin beds and firm matresses providing a great night sleep. Definitely would stay here again. Staff were helpful and friendly
A clean and well appointed room, with more space than we expected. Well resourced kitchen with enough facilities to cook a simple meal. Hot drinks from the foyer very good. Staff very helpful with fluent English. We had a room on the back of the hotel which was very quiet. Internet fine if you followed the instructions properly!
This was my first time in Paris and I chose the hotel based on a recommendation for the neighborhood. It was a nice location, great for kids. The room and building were very nice. My concerns were with the rediculous fee for daily house keeping and the unknowledgable staff. The concierge was completely useless when I was searching for a nice restaurant or a shopping area. Three separate staff gave the same answer and circled a block down the street from the hotel (which was crap). This is Paris. They should know a couple restaurants near some landmarks or where some shopping districts are located. Otherwise the room was nice and we had a good trip.
Room wasn't 'deluxe studio' as advertised. Staff stated all rooms the same. Ground floor room so no view. Roller shutters on windows made us paranoid. Could hear toilets flushing and coming down wall next to bed, presumably main drains. Asked for new towels, they said not til after 6 days!! We managed to get staff to agree to new towels at 10am. We went out for the day sight seeing and came back around 11pm to no new towels. The night receptionist then argued again about new towels not given out. After 5 minutes we got our towels. Breakfast was good containing fruit, pastries, cereals, bread, yoghurt, ham, cheese and hot items sausage, bacon and eggs. The staff stated €13 per person per day. We had breakfast twice but they still charged us too much, when questioned just said €61 is charge on your bill when we were checking out. Positives - The location of the apartment is really close to Richard Lenior/Breguet Sabin Metro stations. Coffee machine available in the breakfast room all day. Very nice coffee.
