Very good situation - near Metro stations, and lots of restaurants, bars, good supermarket. As an older woman travelling on my own I never felt afraid in the area. Am sorry to read that others had a bad experience, but although I was out when it was dark, I was never out late. The room needs to be checked out by the staff. The towels are poor quality and, for women, not big enough to use for hair drying. The shower is very poorly designed. Nowhere to put your clothes, no hooks or stool, no shelf for shampoo etc. Awful having to put your soap, shampoo, conditioner on the floor of the shower and then have to struggle blindly to try and find them.Appreciate that there is a dishwasher but unless you are prepared to do a wash after every meal, it is a bit pointless. Some washing up liquid would be much more practical. No frying pan. Be prepared to eat whatever you can heat up in the microwave. The extractor fan runs 24 hours a day, but fortunately if you close the bathroom door and the hall door, it blocks out the sound. I was in the 'disabled' wing which I think is very new and they are still trying to sort things out. On the whole I really enjoyed my time there. Just needs a bit more attendion to detail.
Clean apartment with kitchen linen, dishwasher tabs and towels. Warm, quiet, not overlooked. View of Cimetiere Montmartre against a winter sky interesting. Next time we'd like a balcony with city views. Plenty of free coffee in reception. Only downside was hardwood floors which look good but means our last evening spoiled by the late-night clomping of inconsiderate guests above. Called reception but to no avail. Reception generally helpful, but woman on duty a little curt on our departure, e.g. no smile or warmth. And she had rung our room at 10:45am to remind us check-out was 11am, which we knew, so we felt rounded up rather like schoolchildren. Apart from that, a decent option near Blanche, Place de Clichy, and western edge of Montmartre, especially if you get a deal, otherwise a bit pricey.
The accommodation is nice. Smaller than the photos they advertise. My suite had not lounge space as expected. Bathroom is well stocked with towels. Bring your own hairdryer as the one provided is not adequate to dry or style! I had to endure noise from building works from morning until night, bar on Sunday. They advertise the rooms as being sound-proofed, but this is simply not true. I could hear everything from neighbouring rooms - above and below. Wouldn't stay there again. Thankfully, had brough earplugs!
We had an lovely trip, we loved monmartre and Our hotel was very modern and clean and everything we could have asked for however there is a down side. Our only issue with the residence we stayed at was its immediate location, although the location was excellent for access to shops and amenities the residence is in a very dark side street off the main strip, we found that men would congregate in the closed shop door ways late at night which we would have to pass to get to the hotel, the side street is a bit of a dead so it is almost only used to access the hotel at night. Entering this side street avenue Rachael was quite intimidating after dark. On the second night of our stay which was a Sunday night we were jumped by two young black males in the street just metres away from the hotel. One of the men attempted to harass my partner and the other tried to seperate us by pulling at my jacket, the situation became very aggressive. I told my partner to run the hotel while I tried to deal with the two men. My partner managed to raise the alarm with the hotel security guard inside the hotel and he came out. On seeing this the two men backed up and I managed to make it to the hotel also, the two men then stayed outside the hotel doors arguing with security while we took the lift back to the room. The men were threatened with the police and eventually left. This as you can imagine tarnished the remainder of our trip leaving and entering the hotel was a worry and was always in the back of our minds especially after dark. In a city where muggings and pickpocketing and other violent crimes are not uncommon the Hotel security should be outside the front door especially late at night for guests entering or leaving the hotel into a very dark dead end side street, not behind two sets of electric doors in the hotel reception. If it had not been for this I'd have given a five star review.
Hotel is basic in its functionalities. Clean, tidy and quite are the best qualities. The breakfast was small and not that much choice. The staff at the breakfast was not able to satisfied our requests because not English speaker. Check in and check out were handled with no problem even if not as quickly as needed since the taxi was waiting outside the door. Overall an average experience
